Says she, thought I would start a new thread. After yesterday's triumph, I ended up eating rubbish yesterday (lack of time and planning) and weight out for a Toby (bar snacks) last night to get my Dad out of the house to give DS1 space. Weigh 9st2 this morning, but confident that I didn't eat the 8,000 calories needed to gain over 2 pounds. Aim for the end of October is 8st13.5 (rather than .75 which was my new low yesterday), the sky is the limit

Test doesn't make a difference if you've had close contact with a confirmed case sadly. You have to isolate because it might not have shown up in a test result yet but still could.

Well done on loss marmite.

I'm up because ds chose Chinese last night (to be fair it's been a long half term and the kid doesn't do drink, drugs or cigars). I didn't eat much and didn't actually enjoy it but water retention is always high after.

Will try for a good day today and ideally a bm and revisit the scales tomorrow.

SistemaAddict · 25/10/2020 22:28

I am not sat reading in bed and eating minstrels. No no, not me. I'd completely gone off chocolate or certainly wasn't fussed by it but this last week or two I've had a definite need. I blame hormones and stress. I had homemade vegetable soup for dinner and think I missed lunch. must do better next week. Oh. Tomorrow. It's Monday tomorrow. Bugger

Octopus37 · 26/10/2020 07:21

Sistema chocolate is one of the 5 major food groups isn't it? And you did have vegetable soup. Went out to the Toby Carvery last night with DH and the boys, haven't managed to do anything like that for ages. Was 9st2 this morning,

I'm randomly up a lb this morning. Have a good day everyone, drink lots of water.

Monochrome4 · 26/10/2020 09:41

IDontMindMarmite I'm finally taking your advice and starting each meal with a glass of water. I think it helps stop me overeating.

Yes, chocolate is definitely one of the major food groups. Although I am proud of how little chocolate I've managed to have since August. Previously I was getting through 100g bar of dark chocolate every two days if I was careful. A day without chocolate would be a big challenge. Now I'm having it every so often but not every day.

63.4 this morning. Definitely better than 65 a couple of days ago! My spike is finally over that my period has arrived, but I think the spike was higher than it should have been due not sticking below calorie budget enough of the time. I've done 4 days in a row now and I intend to keep it up.

Lalanbaba · 26/10/2020 09:51

63.1 this morning, not bad having in mind the wine and roast yesterday.
B: banana and toast
L: ramen with lots of veggies and small portion of noodles
D: Steak and sweet potato wegdes

IDontMindMarmite · 26/10/2020 10:08

I definitely feel less hungry when i'm drinking at least 2 litres of water a day. And I feel like it flushes food out quicker somehow. Don't know if that's in my head but still.

Octopus37 · 27/10/2020 08:53

I dont mind marmite, I'm going to try and drink more water today. 9st0.25 this morning, having another period, last one was only two weeks ago. Also got a cold but will persevere. Hope everyone is ok

Morning. 13:11.5 today.

Did a really good workout at the gym yesterday and intend to do the same today.

Have a good day.

IDontMindMarmite · 27/10/2020 09:32

I fluctuated back down a lb again. Well done for your gym efforts Honey. My motivation for cycling every night is waning, although thanks to @Monochrome4 some saddle adjustments have been really game changing. In some ways I look forward to it as working from home is cold and tedious and I watch films on my Ipad while doing it (stationary bike obvs!) but i've started off doing 30 mins which I increased to 45 and stick with that out of pig headedness rather than enjoyment...

TheHoneyBadger · 27/10/2020 09:48

Thanks I only use a bike for warming up because I find the calorie burn disappointing. I'm on the treadmill mostly doing fast very uphill walking and am currently focused on managing to stay longer in the peak zone but without actually having a heart attack.

Fair play to the guy next to me yesterday. Considerably overweight (and that's coming from me still in the obese bracket) and he seemed to be running as long as he could then slowing to a fast walk until he recovered a bit then running again for at least an hour.

I'm sticking to fast walking and crazy gradients for now. I feel too fat to run for my knees' sake. Going to brave the stairs machine today I think. I'm absolutely shocking on the cross trainers and avoiding for now.

Basically just burning calories and trying to improve stamina really.

Monochrome4 · 27/10/2020 10:22

Well done Honeybadger and Marmite for your exercise. Sounds good. Marmite, what do you use to make your bike stationary? I'm not sure what to do about exercise this week while the kids are on half term. Even if I walk while they're on their bikes it's really slow. Yesterday we didn't leave the house at all, but in the evenings I've got loads of admin.

63.2kg this morning, finally going in the right direction. I think I should stop weighing myself the week before my period (if I can work out when that is).

IDontMindMarmite · 27/10/2020 10:54

I have this Elite Crono turbo trainer that DH bought on the back wheel and a stand to hold the front. I can see several on eBay. You can get fancier ones that give you data for a price of course.

IDontMindMarmite · 27/10/2020 14:07

Does anyone know of the lowest calorie/best 'value' chocolate biscuit around? This craving has been around a couple of weeks now and i'm gonna have to find something suitable to satisfy it...

Monochrome4 · 27/10/2020 15:54

That setup looks good Marmite! I will have a think about the choccy biccie thing.

TheHoneyBadger · 27/10/2020 16:50

No clue about choccie biscuits but I could definitely eat a packet one. Gym was HARD today - maybe because two days in a row.

IDontMindMarmite · 27/10/2020 18:03

Monochrome4 yeah I like it because I can just use my road bike, DH can use his and we don't have to have a permanent fIxed bike in the house if exercising indoors falls out of favour.

Randomly my cycle was 10 times easier today.

I had a fibre one brownie and will probably go over my calorie target today.

Octopus37 · 27/10/2020 19:57

Wow, I'm so impressed with the exercise and gym sessions Monochrome, Idontmindmarmite and HoneyBadger. As far as chocolate bars go, think Ripple bars are quite good (about 175 cals I think), also the Twirl Orange is 228 cals. Think CurlyWurlys are quite low, about 130. Also Kelloggs Squares (the caramel and chocolate one) is around 150 I think. Plenty of food for thought.

Same weight as yesterday.

I had a huge sleep and feel really groggy today. Think I'll just try and get through some laundry and have a bath and make the pasta bake I promised ds for dinner.

This can be my slug day. Yoga and swim tomorrow morning then I am visiting parents. Figure it's the safest time as it'll be nearly a week since ds and I were in school and we'd hopefully have symptoms if we had anything.

I haven't seen them since being back at school because I don't want to put them at risk but they are really keen to see us.

IDontMindMarmite · 28/10/2020 16:56

I was same weight this morning too and I won't be cycling this evening as I have a Spanish lesson.

Pasta bake sounds great Badger. I love pasta so much Grin.
Greek yoghurt pizza for dinner which I also love and we've planned a take away and restaurant meal this weekend which is very naughty but we've been stuck inside isolating for 2 weeks by Thursday so feel like it is deserved.

Monochrome4 · 28/10/2020 18:04

I haven't done any exercise for 5 days. Sad So hard with kids! My step counter is only at 3500 steps despite 2 hours in the park with them earlier. Kids just walk sooooo slowly. Admittedly, some of those steps were with a 3yo on my shoulders but I don't imagine that burnt off many calories.

chunkyrun · 28/10/2020 18:07

Someone's gifted my son my favourite biscuits. Foxes thick chocolate chip cookies with a layer of chocolate on top. I've let him have two then locked them in the car. 129 calories a biscuit, I could easily eat the lot

TheHoneyBadger · 28/10/2020 18:19

Haven't had pasta for ages till I cooked him this a week or so ago.

I'm trying to balance losing weight with embracing the fact ds is finally being less picky and trying things.

I'll try to have a tiny portion and ds will wolf the rest.

TheHoneyBadger · 28/10/2020 18:20

Those biscuits sound lush.
