3 weeks/half a stone

flowerycurtain · 16/08/2020 07:02

Hi.

After lockdown and a mental period at work I've let a good 3/4 of a stone creep on.

I feel fat, clothes are starting to feel tight and I'm 1lb off being in the overweight BMI. Worst of all though I feel so lethargic and tired. Wine and Dominos last night have not helped!

So, the kids go back to school in 3 weeks. My really long hours are over at work and the next 3 weeks should be on a bit more of an even keel. I'm aiming to lose 7lbs to start with. I'll do this my mfp and exercise.

Anyone want to join me?

Today's plan:

5k run
B: All bran, Greek yoghurt and berries
L: Lamb kebabs and roasted veg cous cous
T: salad

@flowerycurtain
Good eggy brekkie is an omelette.

If you use 2 eggs
Gently fry 2-3 cherry toms cut in half in a tsp of olive oil and a sprinkling of tarragon and salt / pepper
Fry until they start to caremelise then add the eggs.
Sprinkle with 1-2 tsp of finely grated Parmesan. Delish with mushrooms as well
Serve with raw spinach leaves doused in lime juice and raw apple vinegar or half an avo

LoveB · 22/08/2020 12:13

@lightlypoached 800 calories!! Wow. Good luck, I'm sure you'll smash it. Just making some minestrone soup for lunch, I like to think it's healthy, except I smother it in cheese and have large amounts of bread and butter with it. Run tonight for me!

flowerycurtain · 22/08/2020 16:14

@lightlypoached that sounds delicious. The problem I have is because I'm cooking for a 7 & 5 yr old too I make the bland version like a cheese omlette and can't be bothered to add all those extra ingredients. Wish I did though.

I'm impressed at your plan. I like the program with them at the moment. Have they got an actual plan put with it too?

@flowerycurtain I expect a book will follow shortly to accompany the series 😂

I am using meal plans from the fast800 book. Delicious stuff but it is hard when having to cook for others too.

We were so busy today had no time for lunch but had a snack. 1 slice rye bread toasted, then ran a garlic clove over the surface, followed by ripe tomato and a sprinkle of sea salt. Yum , and only 100 calls. Means I can have a bigger portion of prawn curry tonight 😬

Qwenzo · 22/08/2020 18:57

Oohhhhhhhh a terrible day today. We went out for lunch and what I had was actually ok, fish with veg and potatoes. Then we came home via Sainsbury’s and bought a Cartmel Sticky toffee pudding and double cream. Which me and DH shared (it’s meant for four!)

I feel sick but it was bloody lovely! Back on the wagon tomorrow!

lightlypoached · 22/08/2020 19:42

Wowza. Just ate the prawn korma with cauliflower rice for dinner (dr Clare's recipe from fast800). Absolutely delish and filling. Felt like a real curry and I'm full. 320 calories. Grin

But where is the wine? Shock

flowerycurtain · 22/08/2020 20:55

@Qwenzo look on the bright side - at least you shared it with your husband

@lightlypoached that sounds delicious. Think I'm going to have to get some of their books.

Qwenzo · 22/08/2020 23:26

@flowerycurtain yes you’re absolutely right - it could have been double 🤣

totallyyesno · 23/08/2020 06:59

Went to a friend's house for dinner last night and it would have been rude not to eat everything. Will try to be a bit more abstemious today.

flowerycurtain · 23/08/2020 07:22

Morning all.

Aiming to go for a run this morning. Then I've got friends over for lunch. A lady in our village has started a new business selling bbq packs so I've cheated and bought two salads and the most enormous delicious looking cheesecake ever! Am aiming to eat:

B - fruit
L - salmon kebabs, salad and probably cheesecake. Hopefully limit to 2 glasses of wine.
T - more salad.

The key is going to be 2 glasses of wine. Because if that turns into 4 tea will be 3 leftover sausages, a burger, chunk of cheese and a big bit of cheesecake!

Have a good day all

It's hard to stay on track when eating out...or in !

One of the ways i deal with it /compensate is putting in a couple of fast days (16 hours not eating ). It's easier than it sounds.

For me today
B: poached eggs, avo in lime and chilli, cherry toms in live apple vinegar

Spoke to a mate last night who's on day 5 of 800. And she's lost 2 kg already.

What are you lot doing re weighing ?
I've decided to weigh only at the end of 3 weeks. I've also done waist , thigh, hip and fat % measurements as health and fitting into clothes is the most important thing.

What are you all doing ?

flowerycurtain · 24/08/2020 06:27

Morning all

@lightlypoached I'm weighing every Monday. 10st 5 today so 1lb loss for me. I actually feel like I've lost more as clothes are looser but it's coming up for time of the month.

So yesterday I stuck to the 2 glasses. I did end up having another portion of cheesecake for tea but not too bad overall. Nothing social planned next weekend so W hopefully have half a chance of doing well.

Today's plan

B - strawberries and blueberries
L - sweet Potato salad
T - roasted broccoli salad and roasted veg cous cous. Maybe with a small steak if I've got enough cals on mfp.

Have a good day all.

Morning everyone!
Well my weekend was probably a 6/10 in terms of being good... last weekend was a generous 4! Means I've "lost" 3lbs vs last Monday although now the real challenge will be Friday vs Friday to see how I get on this week. Really hoping I can get to the stone lost mark which means another 2.5lbs....
@lightlypoached I weigh daily, but I have digital scales which measure to 0.2lb. Weighing daily without that precision I feel is pretty pointless. I also quite like understanding and being able to predict daily fluctuations in weight, it's helped me better understand the effect of certain foods/ drink on water retention. Totally get daily is a bit much for some though.
I'm doing Dukan which is probably a bit 2010s in terms of on trend haha but I've done it before and it really works.
I was a lot more disciplined last time though!!

Qwenzo · 24/08/2020 09:30

Morning all!

Well done on sticking to two glasses @flowerycurtain some willpower there!

@Cavagirl I weigh every couple of days Even when not trying to lose weight because if I don’t, it’s very easy for a couple of lbs to creep on one week, then the next week etc. I’m quite small so every lb shows on me and this way it keeps me disciplined in that if I have a bad couple of days and it shows on the scales I can rein it in a bit.

Anyway after a poor weekend food wise, I appear to have lost another lb. Means I can start the week fairly motivated.

LoveB · 24/08/2020 14:22

Hi all. I haven't weighed myself yet, I don't think it'll be good news, so I don't want to! I've started trying the 16/8 intermittent fasting thing...did someone mention that here? Anyway, not too tricky as I have dinner with the toddler at 5pm, just means a late breakfast and nothing in the evening. We'll see if it helps! Might weigh myself tonight.

Breakfast: fruit and yogurt

Lunch: beef and cucumber sandwich

Dinner: salmon, cous cous and salad

flowerycurtain · 25/08/2020 12:37

Morning all.

Well done @LoveB we have tea with the kids at 5 as well and often have a snack about 8.30. I always lose if I miss that snack so guess it's a type of 16:8!

I'm struggling today. Tired and stressed. I always eat when I'm stressed. The plan is

B - high bran, raspberries and Greek yoghurt
L - roasted veg and noodles
T - steak, salad and chips.

If I'm being good I might try and skip the chips.

OP posts:
lightlypoached · 25/08/2020 12:59

Morning all,

Good day yesterday (day3) but missing the wine.

B: egg with mashed avocado with chilli and lime, slice of rye bread
L: prawn korma and cauli rice (leftover)
D: chicken and courgette soaghetti in garlic lemon sauce (yum)

753 calories.

It seems like everyone on the telly is at a bar, drinking, taunting me. Grin

How's everyone else getting on?

LoveB · 25/08/2020 14:13

I weighed myself this morning - I've lost 3kg since we started this, so I'm very happy with that. I'm now the right side of 11 stone! But got to keep at it.

Breakfast: cereal Lunch: Pea Risotto Dinner: Steak, salad and chips (if I'm feeling good I'll also skip the chips @flowerycurtain!!)

Cavagirl · 25/08/2020 17:08

Wow well done @LoveB that's brilliant progress!

I'm so busy at work this week, I'm being good on food but I've had to cut myself some slack on the wine! Telling myself if I drink enough water it balances...

flowerycurtain · 25/08/2020 18:27

@lightlypoached your menu sounds absolutely delicious.

@LoveB that's fantastic well done you! Got to be honest I didn't skip the chips tonight. They were the really nice McCain gastro pub ones and just so Delicious!

@Cavagirl living the username! Hope work calms down for you.

The wind here tonight is horrendous meaning we're hunkering down. Am about to put in my retainer to try and stop me snacking this evening!

OP posts:
Cavagirl · 25/08/2020 20:31

@flowerycurtain 🤣 yep! Although tonight it's a chilled sauv blanc.... looking outside feels more like malbec weather tbh

LoveB · 25/08/2020 20:58

Thanks both, although don't give me too much credit - the 10 week old is piling on the pounds, so perhaps the breastfeeding is finally kicking in for me! And no, I didn't skip the chips either!!

flowerycurtain · 26/08/2020 10:37

@LoveB I may have breastfed for over 18 months purely so I could eat more Blush

Pleasantly surprised by a quick mid week weigh this morning showing 10st 3.75. I haven't seen a 3 for a loooong time. If I could see 9st by the end of this I'll be over the moon! Today's menu:

B - all bran with yoghurt and blueberries
L - some sort id whole meal wrap
T - salmon egg fried rice.

Have a good day all

OP posts:
Cavagirl · 27/08/2020 07:58

Ooh @flowerycurtain we're almost the same weight then - I'm 1lb heavier than you 10st4.6 this morning. Also aiming to see a 9!!! It's been a while!!

lightlypoached · 27/08/2020 08:04

Ooh well done @flowerycurtain, it must feel brilliant to see the progress.

Our (I'm doing this with DH) very Fast800 goes into day 6. Yesterday was

B: tomatoes, avo and poached egg
L pea and spinnach soup, tapenade and raw veg
D feta, cucumber lentil salad with pomegranate.

I'm not feeling hungry at all now but am weeing tons - an effect of ketosis apparently. Also sleeping pretty well and resting heart rate has plummeted from 65 to 62. Am kind of poised for the keto 'flu' and fatigue to set in (it hit DH yesterday). Anyone else having and side effects?

Am sorely tempted to weigh myself but holding out for day 21 to do a full weigh/measure.

Keep going everyoneGrin
