I just can’t do it

So bloody, fucking fed up of myself. I lose a stone then revert back to being a lazy, greedy pig and end up putting even more back on. I feel horrendous.

Have just ordered some new weighing scales, they come tomorrow. I have to stick to this!!! It’s only going to get worse & before I know it I’ll be middle aged and even more obese with little chance of turning back!

Just ranting!! Anyone want to join who is a real human who struggles?! I need people to lose weight & laugh with... Grin

@Eatyourbanana good on you for not stuffing and resetting tomorrow, I do that way too often Blush your wrap sounds great, love a bit of falafel. Right, I'm going to try and stop eating after 7 to cut out all the evening snacking. Had a banana and toast for breakfast, and I'll roast some salmon and broccoli for lunch which should hopefully keep me full for a bit

Sounds sensible. One of the most helpful things I find is, if I eat something I shouldn't, I truthfully log the calories and think of it as a blip rather than a failure and an excuse to give up and eat more crap. Next day I try not eat all my calories if I've gone over the day before. That way I am "allowed" things without feeling guilty of that I've had something forbidden. I'm trying to break the cycle of feeling like a failure and just giving up.

@unstableunicorn yes, I’m going to set a time limit too, my worse snacking is definitely in the evenings in front of the tv.

@wowfudge I'm trying to break the cycle of feeling like a failure and just giving up.

So true... even a blip is better than a total write off! I need to work on that.

Hello, this seems like a nice thread of friendly people so I'll mosey on in. If someone weighing 19st can 'mosey' at all :') I weighed 23st when I first changed my lifestyle about 2.5 months ago and now I'm down to 19.5 with a longgg way to go. I'm pre-diabetic (T2) but in my last blood test the sugar levels were slightly elevated so I decided to do something about it and my blood glucose hasn't spiked in 2.5 months (except for the few slips I had, we all have them :p )
I wanted to let a previous poster know that even without actual periods your hormones at specific times can cause weight gain whilst on a diet but it will fall off again so please don't beat yourself up the way I did at first!

I tell a lie, the weighing scale today says I'm now 18.8st down from 19.5 \o/ Yay go me.

Also, and it's interesting psychologically that the gym I go to starts all its weightloss programmes on Saturdays. So many people start on Mondays then cave over the weekend, whereas if you start at the weekend you'll do it the first weekend and realise you can keep it up over the weekend by the time the next one comes along. Plus you can plan ahead for the week.

Checking in for the day. 2 walks with the pram and did house work..that counts right? Lol. Chicken sausages and poached eggs for brekkie and a huge salad with smoked mackerel for dinner. Can only eat that when OH is at work because he hates the smell 😂. Going to weigh myself again tomorrow morning .. fingers crossed.
Going to have a drink at the weekend.. it's my downfall.

That's amazing @Clevererthanyou ! What a loss in 2.5 months, you must feel amazing!
How have you been doing it?

I went for a picnic with the kids today, did ok and avoided the cookies. I did take a satsuma for myself but the baby immediately relieved me of it, he goes mad for a satsuma.
It all fell down a bit when dh fancied brinner tonight (that's breakfast for dinner, or a fry up) so I've had that- less bacon and sausage and more mushroom and scrambled eggs- and now I'm thinking about cracking open the rum when the baby is finally asleep.

What you're eating is largely carbohydrates. Up the protein, eg chicken breast, tuna, etc, and veg content and cut back on the carbs. You'll feel full without the dips that can come after carb heavy meals.

I am on a very low carb diet combined with only eating between 12-6pm. I also listen to my stomach and stop eating when I’m full rather than carrying on just because. I drink lots of water and I’m trying to walk more but I’m massively limited there because of disability. It has been a long hard slog to change my old lifestyle and stick with the new but the idea of being healthier and feeling happier is spurring me on.

That's amazing @Clevererthanyou!

Today has been very stressful and I've been rubbish at eating well. Two portions of yogurt and muesli, two choc ices and a wedge of melon Blush

I caved and had scambled eggs and a piece of buttery toast for lunch today. That tiger loaf in the cupboard turned out to be too tempting. Home made chow mein for tea. The 20km on the static bike was hard fought for, i need to get back into doing in daily or my weight just bounces around.

You've done amazingly well. I find having an eating window works really well for me, along with weighing every day. I never thought I'd become one of those people but as I've said before, it's a lifestyle change rather than a diet.

I've lost a couple of pounds this week and still had Greggs, some chocolate, spaghetti bolognese etc.

Morning all.
9st 12lb this morning Smile my interim goal is 9st 10lb on the way to way to 9st 4lb. I can't actually imagine being that weight again as that's what I weighed before I was pregnant with ds 6 years ago now. I was that again the same day I gave birth as I only gained a stone with him but then breastfeeding made me very hungry and I did that for 4.5 years!
We are planning a long walk today in the woods to get away from the heat. Hope everyone has a great day and doesn't melt 🏖

I need to join, every night I think about how I’ll be making healthier choices, but inevitably by 9am the next day I’ve already stuffed my face. Big problem is a) tired from breastfeeding, b) stress/emotional eating. Mostly b to be honest, parenting the older DCs is taking its toll, as they are constantly fighting with me or between themselves. I’m already exhausted this morning.

I am almost 78kgs, not sure how many stones that is, but need to be 71kg to be out of the overweight category and another 5/10 kegs to be closer to my ideal weight.

Report
majesticallyawkward · 07/08/2020 17:34

I've been off plan today... took the DCs to the beach and had chips (double fried) and an ice cream (rum and raisin, my fave).
Had fruit for breakfast and have a muscle foods lean ready meal for tea to try and limit the damage. Also walked miles again, including massive walks up and down the beach with a pram which is a fairly hefty workout 😂

Clevererthanyou · 07/08/2020 18:10

majestically that’s a hefty workout in this heat! I had tuna mayo and lettuce for lunch but it was tiny so I put some of my sons Quavers on it because I was so hungry Grin plain grilled chicken tonight because this warmth is appetite suppressing bleurgh.

@wowfudge i've always started on a Monday and always failed this time I started on a Thursday so fingers crossed I can keep at it, although i'm currently biting my nails to stop me going to eat crap.
Wow that's amazing @Clevererthanyou well done.
I'm going to weigh myself again on Sunday, not expecting a loss as I only weighed myself on Thursday but I would rather weigh myself on a Sunday lol
Just finished a cup of coffee with no sugarSad

The walk didn't happen as I got busy baking, washing all the loose covers on the sofas and we had a water fight then set up the new paddling pool. I've barely sat down today and feel like I've been in the kitchen all day. I baked bread, pizza, a garlic baguette, and a crumble cake. Carbs 💖 Now I am full after 2 slices of pizza whereas I could eat a full one a few months back without much trouble but then I've been like that since I was 10. I was such a skinny kid too! I blame the contraceptive pill, and hormone treatments over the years for endometriosis. And 3 babies haven't helped my body either Grin I had one bite of cake just to try it as it was a new recipe. With it being so hot I've drink loads of water today and my skin is much better in general since I switched to water over squash.

I am envious of you being on the beach pp. and a buggy over sand is hardcore especially in this heat.

Over my calories by 153 Blush we had a chinese, I had chicken chow mein, I only ate 3/4 usually I would eat the whole thing even if i'm full. It's made me really thirsty though, instead of drinking loads of juice i'm sticking to water.

Oh my god. I've been up since 2 with the baby. finally got him to sleep at 6 and DD got up at 20 past 😭 im craving a big cooked breakfast and creamy coffee. I'll stick with porridge and skimmed milk in the coffee, why is it when I'm tired I'm ravenous?

We're going fruit picking today though, another day outside with plenty of walking, and the massive baby in a carrier- god help my back but it's all exercise!

Yesterday was a write-off, once again. Today I went for a run/walk before it gets too hot. I just can’t seem to control myself around food, and sabotage myself when I feel like crap, which is basically all the time.
