So bloody, fucking fed up of myself. I lose a stone then revert back to being a lazy, greedy pig and end up putting even more back on. I feel horrendous.

Have just ordered some new weighing scales, they come tomorrow. I have to stick to this!!! It’s only going to get worse & before I know it I’ll be middle aged and even more obese with little chance of turning back!

Just ranting!! Anyone want to join who is a real human who struggles?! I need people to lose weight & laugh with... Grin

Well I did say I was going to be 100% honest and as OP feel like I need to set the tone! So I have failed massively today... polished off the left over kids chips & then felt bad and went into fuck it mode... got home & had a sandwich and 2 packets of crisps! Ffs! So angry at myself...

I will have dinner tonight still, but tomorrow I have GOT to get control of myself. Sorry I couldn’t be a role model today guys! 😂

I echo the fluid retention.

I've made carrot soup for dinner and my very first homemade baguettes. They smell amazing and I will struggle to limit myself on how much I have. Well, depending on if they taste ok!

Just remember if you are exercising and your muscles feel sore they are retaining water so it might not look like your losing on the scale.

So today was chicken breast and some new potatoes then chicken sausages with Mediterranean veg. Some nuts for a snack. Got a walk when the rain went off and did one 15 min video.

@Eatyourbanana
Don’t be angry with yourself. I’ve gone into fuck it mode many a time before. It’s usually when I’ve been eating healthily for a few days and I just get really hungry and then stuff my face.
From now on, when this happens to me, I’m not going to feel bad about it, I’m just going to start again.

Hi I know i'm a bit late but can I join?
My weight has went up and down for years but really need to do something about it. Last weighed myself middle of July and I was 13 stone 8 Blush I know i've put more on since then. I'm classed as obese.
Eating wise I can do ok until I walk through the door in the evening and i'm "starving" so I have a snack which turns into lots of snacks then I just continue eating. I also eat when i'm stressed, tired etc.

@Nuffaluff I'm breastfeeding and no periods yet. God I hope that's not on its way... it's been 18 months since my last one! I was promised bfing helped you loose weight faster but not seeing any evidence of that 🙄

I'm on the free trial for noom, doubt I'll be paying for it. I can't see that it's much different to WW or SW and I didn't get on with those. I think I'd rather use my fitness pal to calorie count, and when I figure how to get accurate step count/activity tracking I can keep an eye on that too (phone doesn't count too well and fitbit doesn't register if you're pushing a pram).

@Eatyourbanana I've resisted the temptation to finish off the kids lunch... not sure I could have if it was chips!

I have done 15 minutes of yoga today- was supposed to be 30 but the baby booted off and never quite got back to it, maybe I'll try again when he's asleep. I did do a decent walk this morning though- we're doing 4-6 miles most days but as it's through parks or nice places the 5yo doesn't mind.

Report
Nuffaluff · 05/08/2020 18:40

I do all of that too minnie.
So, I’ve finished for the day and I’ve managed to stick to it. I’ve stayed within my 1350 calories for the day and I haven’t included my exercise calories. Minimal snacks
Exercise: 15000 steps including 5k run
Breakfast: nectarine, crumpet with peanut butter, crumpet with lime curd
Lunch: v small portion of pasta with leftover tuna sweetcorn Mayo
Snack: skips (addicted)
Dinner: salmon with small portion of roast veg and potatoes
My allowance permits a glass of wine later and a Lindt chocolate, so that’s what I’m looking forward to!
Tomorrow I’m going to weigh myself and measure my waist, because although I’m just within my BMI, all of my weight is round my middle. A (hopefully) shrinking waist might be motivating!

@Eatyourbanana don't worry about it. Start again tomorrow. Have your new scales come yet?

That exercise sounds great majestically.
You’ve inspired me to fit in a very quick yoga session this evening (I’m really missing my yoga class and haven’t done any for months - feel very inflexible and a bit achy all over).

@majesticallyawkward I don't know what Fitbit u have but with mine I can tell it I'm going for a walk by selecting excercise then it uses my phone's GPS and tracks steps while I push the pram.

Ahhh yes, disappointed in myself but tomorrow is a new day. @sorrall I went to collect them from Argos but there was about 5 people queuing & the youngest was asleep so I couldn’t just run in & grab them, so I’m going to collect them tomorrow 100%. Will see the number of doom then, can’t wait! I know I am 13 stone something.

It's a fairly old one, at least 3 years. But I can do a walk with the pram and it says 7,000 steps then the same one without the pram and it's 12,000 (although less of an option now as a 26lb wriggler is torture on the back!)

I have had a very stressful evening and am resorting to a gin and tonic and some tv. Well, I'm trying to but ds won't settle.
I'm hungry as the soup wasn't much really and I only had a small chunk of bread. 1139 calories and a weekly average of 1181 so I'm happy with that.

I had big chip cravings a while ago and get Waitrose chunky oven chips. Best oven chips ever. I do love a chip buttie! I just work them into my daily allowance by having fruit for lunch. It's worth it Grin and now I want a chip buttie! Preferably from the chippy. I think I last had a chippy chip barm in early March. The best chippy is miles away so it's a rarity. Probably a good thing!

I'm going to weigh myself in the morning if I remember before work although i'm dreading it.
Going to start logging everything into MFP again. Hopefully I can stick to it this time as i'm not buying anymore clothes so if I put on anymore weight I will literally have nothing to wear Blush

Just weighed myself 13stone 8 1/2lbs, so only put on 1/2lb since middle of july. Looking to loose just over 3 stone to get within healthy range

What's wrong with me. I ate a load of chocolate last night. It's all gone now so hopefully today will be better for me.

I'm starting again! Right now 😬

Well, after logging my food last night, I then ate a chocolate muffin and a packet of crisps! I was hungry. That was my exercise calories that I wasn’t going to eat back. Never mind.
Have been for a walk this morning. Eaten breakfast and won’t have anything until lunch.
I weighed myself. 10st 7lb and I measured my waist at 38 inches, but I’m not sure if I did it right. I want to get to a round ten stone to start with.
It’s our wedding anniversary today so we’re having a takeaway because we can’t go out (no babysitter obviously). Will try to eat less during the day to allow for it.

I’m finding the only way I’m loosing weight (slowly) is to cut out hidden sugars, and to stick to one lot of carbs a day.

Breakfast - swop cereal for porridge with cut up fruit or defrosted frozen fruit. - fills me up longer than regular cereal.

If I have a sandwich for lunch, I cut out potatoes in the evening.

Also, swop rice for cauliflower rice - in chillis, stir-fries etc you don’t really notice the difference.

Fortunately, not a sweet tooth, so not tempted by biscuits (most of the time).

Also, if you have fruit as a snack, add some protein. Ie. Cheese. It really does make the snack last longer.

Hidden sugars are in ready made pasta sauces etc, even the reduced fat ones etc

This is why I've made it my rule not to eat after 6pm otherwise I'd eat loads in the evening.

When I was a Practice Nurse we measured waists at the natural bend of the waist. So if you lean to one side where you bend is your natural waist. It's not around your navel. Men were always very shocked that their trousers were a 36 or whatever but their actual waist was several inches more. I dread to think what mine is. I did measure my arms, thighs and calves weeks ago and although I've lost weight and my clothes are looser I haven't lost anything from there Sad

I made myself measure. Waist 33" and hips 39"Sad

@Eatyourbanana yes today is a new day. I weigh more today than I did yesterday. I need to get a serious grip.

Make sure you pick up your new scales from Argos today, hopefully it won't be as bad as you anticipate.

Have a great day everyone.

@Eatyourbanana - take it one step at a time and try to slowly establish new habits. Don't go hell for leather eating one meal a day with nothing you actually enjoy eating. You will be just setting yourself up to fail.

Can you meal plan and food shop according to your plan? If you're going out for the day, take homemade sandwiches, etc for lunch. You'll probably find you save money. Don't buy things like packets of sausage rolls and chocolate. Don't finish what the kids leave. Try putting the money you would spend nipping to the corner shop for chocolate or whatever in money box or a jar. At the end of week see how much you've saved and either decide to see how much you can save over two weeks or a month, or whatever works for you. If you decide to spend the money, buy a treat that isn't food - I've bought things like fake tan, new face cream.

It's probably taken quite a while to put on the weight you wish you hadn't. It'll take the same amount of time to lose, perhaps longer. If you really want it, you can do it one step at a time.

If you haven't already, download My Fitness Pal and start logging your calories truthfully. Do it for a week and see what you're actually consuming. Then you can decide what to do to change things.

Thanks @wowfudge good advice. I could feel my self getting hungrier & more desperate so rather than just stuffing my face and thinking I’ll start again tomorrow I decided to have a falafel, hummus & salad whole meal wrap (home made.)
