Who's in? I'm a mess.

I need a lot of work 😁

I'm going to try and ditch quite a few pounds and make myself more lovely again. I need a complete overhaul. Starting tomorrow obviously!

I'm ordering the scales when I have money next week. I hope by then I'm no longer constipated Blush

Tappering · 08/07/2020 16:07

Coffee? A couple of cups is very good at getting things moving!

Extracurricularfatigue · 08/07/2020 17:33

Coffee, water and a brisk walk.

I have excellent and cheap scales if you're looking. These ones:

I rarely attempt to analyse my body fat though. :-)

I'm over today Sad

I'm over today Sad

Tappering · 08/07/2020 18:20

But it's the end of the day chick. Plus there could be water retention there as well. I bloat like hell during my period.

SistemaAddict · 08/07/2020 18:26

I mean I ate too much Sad I'm still averaging around 1350 though so it's a vast improvement.

Tappering · 08/07/2020 19:03

It's one day and tomorrow's another fresh start. And 1350 is low in terms of intake so you are doing really well to average that.

UnicornAndSparkles · 08/07/2020 19:29

@Bercows I might be going against the grain here but, why weigh? You don't need to if its triggering for you. So much emphasis is put on weight but tbh its about how you feel that counts. And if your clothes are looser that's a great sign that you're loosing weight/inches

SistemaAddict · 08/07/2020 21:35

I need to know because the not knowing is worse than thinking the worst iyswim.

I've been using MFP for 3 weeks now and have averaged 1349.77 calories a day apparently. That's roughly a deficit of 18,770 over the three weeks as i was eating 700-1000 calories more than that a day before. So that deficit should equate to around 5.5lbs of weight loss. I've increased my exercise levels too which will have helped. I wish I knew my starting weight now. I'd guessed about 11stone but who knows. 9 st 4lb is my goal. That's where I feel more comfortable and confident. It's right in the middle of my healthy range too.

I've definitely put weight on since turning 40 which coincided with the birth of ds. I'm peri menopausal and definitely don't lose weight as easily as I used to when in my 20s. I wish I'd have appreciated my 8.5 stone body back then.

SistemaAddict · 09/07/2020 12:47

I'M HUNGRY!!!! And had a headache Sad

Extracurricularfatigue · 09/07/2020 19:28

My BMI is down to 27! I am halfway between obese and healthy weight. This feels almost doable, although every pound is hard lost.

Tappering · 09/07/2020 19:40

@Extracurricularfatigue that's great - well done!

@Bercows hope your head is better.

SistemaAddict · 09/07/2020 20:34

Great going @Extracurricularfatigue Smile I was so hungry today but didn't get round to eating dinner. I've eaten biscuits and popcorn and not had a good day at all there. I did finish my assignment early though so I'm chuffed with that and can chill now. Writing it was how I missed dinner. My head improved thank you but is hurting again now. Probably hungry 😩
How is everyone doing?

SistemaAddict · 10/07/2020 09:02

Morning all. How is everyone doing? I'm hoping for a nice walk today but don't know what time to go for it to be quiet. The disused railway track nearby is my usual place but it's busy and no one was distancing even when it was 2 metres. The canal would be nice but the paths are too narrow to avoid people passing. It's sucks.

wowfudge · 10/07/2020 10:35

I know it's not what you want, but often walking along the pavement is far less busy than popular walks. We have the same thing near us - canal towpath a nightmare and some of the other little better. But if I get less than a mile away, there's no one. Could you drive a short distance then do your walk?

UnicornAndSparkles · 10/07/2020 11:06

Morning all!

Congrats to the losers Flowers

Went for a few walks this week and also found the pavements far quieter. The nicer woodland walks are always packed!

Weighed again today and I'm down 1lb since my 2lb gain on Monday. Phew! Spurred me on to keep going. Slow and steady. I know I need to curtail the wine and then the weight will probably drop off more easily, but its difficult to get out of the mindset of a glass or two helping me to relax. Just had a small glass last night over dinner and then deliberately didn't have another one on the sofa later on, as that would have led to a large glass plus a mini chocolate bar.

Tappering · 10/07/2020 11:53

Morning all, hope everyone ok today.

Just come back from a walk round a park I'd not been to before. Very pretty trail but only a mile round and I prefer to do 3-4. It was nice to go somewhere different although I swear if one more dog owner shouts "he's friendly" as their hound comes hurtling towards me and mine, I'll bloody scream!! I love dogs and have two of my own. But they have shit recall so they do not go off the lead in public, ever. Annoyingly none of the people bothered to apologise either, which is just rude.

Anyway, back home now. Fasted this morning and now about to have some lunch.

overweightcat · 10/07/2020 12:11

@Tappering I feel your pain we get them around here, it's pretty crap when you're running trying to maintain pace and they let their dogs approach you and you're not sure if they'll try and jump up or not.

I've been a but quiet on here, I'm plateauing and I've figured it's because I forgot to account for the fact that now I weigh less my calorie deficit changed too. Apparently to keep up with my current weight loss of around 1 kg per week I would have to stick to 710cals a day which isn't sustainable at all.

But I know I've been kidding myself with my snacking, thinking it's ok to have chocolate and crisps as long as I work it into my daily allowance of cals. I'm cutting it out completely now apart from one day a week. Trying to clean up my diet, lots of protein and veg and v little carbs.

Thinking of working out a meal plan.

SistemaAddict · 10/07/2020 12:39

My linen trousers from last summer fit just fine Smile No chance of any size 10 ones fitting but the 12 are fine. I thought they'd be too tight but they fit perfectly. I'm about 2 inches off being able to fit in my size 10 jeans.

Fudge-I don't drive. I wish I did as I'd be out daily on walks in the peak district.

kirstinm · 10/07/2020 12:50

May I join you all? I have been posting on a couple of threads but I like the idea of this one being a bit about improving myself generally - as well as weight- if that makes sense.

I've been ill for a few years (auto immune disease) and in all honesty I have let myself go a bit. I've been on an off medication - I have the steroid moon face at the moment which really upsets me but I am tapering my dose at the moment so hopefully that should go again. I've also let my hair grow, I used to love having it in a really sharp chin length bob but I just wouldn't suit it with my face the way it is. Would love to have it cut like that again.

And the big one is my weight. I knew I had put on a bit but we bit the bullet and ordered scales this week. I weighed in at 11 stone 2 on Monday ad I was gutted. I'm hoping a lot of this will fall off as I start moving more (I've literally been doing no physical activity throughout lockdown) but I'd like to see if I can go a bit lower than the 10 stone ish I have been sitting at pre-lockdown. I think around 9 and a half would be my ultimate goal but we will see. Firstly, I would like to get back to where I was so maybe about 10 stone 2.

So far I've been walking everyday - been around 12,000 steps on average every day this week so far...and tracking calories on MFP - trying to stick to the 1200 (with extra for the exercise). I'm going to try and add in a little youtube exercise workout as well where I can.

I'd just like to overhaul myself a bit...I do have health issues that I need to be mindful of, but I would like to see what I can achieve. Hope it's ok to join you all here!

SistemaAddict · 10/07/2020 13:00

Welcome @kirstinm Smile

SistemaAddict · 10/07/2020 20:15

I didn't get round to dinner again. Or any exercise. I need to be so much better with this. The shopping is being delivered on Monday so I'll order plenty of nice things.

kirstinm · 11/07/2020 09:08

@Bercows thank you! This seems like a nice thread.

I said I would do a little workout yesterday as well as my walk and I didn't. Still did around 12,000 steps though (and I don't have my phone on me at home so that's just the steps on my walk really). I'm considering an apple watch to track things a bit better.

Feeling a bit sad today really, I caught sight of myself in the mirror when I was cleaning up last night and I just don't look like me. I think I look really frumpy and middle aged. Some of it isn't my fault, I've had to take steroids on and off for 18 months due to poorly controlled lupus..and they do terrible things to your face and body. But a lot of the weight gain is down to eating too much and not moving. My hair is an absolute mess as well...but the weight is definitely the biggest problem.

AdultFishcakes · 11/07/2020 09:11

I’m all over these threads with little to show for it but starting IF again tomorrow and let’s see if that plus my model menu for the week does anything.

Portion control and sauces are my enemy as well as the nightly chocolate binge so here’s to fortitude.

My teas for the week will be

BBQ beef, corn sweet potato wedges
Blackened salmon, rice, Pak Choi
Sea bass salsa verde, tattles, broccoli
Tofu tempeh prawn black bean stir fry
Fajitas
Sunday roast
Thai fishcakes

Lots and lots of filling protein and hopefully will keep the infants happy :)
