Who's in? I'm a mess.

I need a lot of work 😁

I'm going to try and ditch quite a few pounds and make myself more lovely again. I need a complete overhaul. Starting tomorrow obviously!

I felt a bit lost after my gym weight loss programme ended and I haven't stuck to the eating plan properly since then. Anyway, I've been doing 4-5 workouts a week so no real damage done. I decided today was the day I got back on it as I've still got weight to lose.

Workout done, legs shaved, calories stuck to and macros okay. We're seeing family at the weekend so that's an incentive for the week.

wowfudge · 06/07/2020 21:11

@Bercows I've been there where I was scared to see how big I really was. I can honestly say that it's better to weigh yourself sooner rather than later because you just keep kidding yourself it's not that bad then bam: you weigh well over a stone more than you thought you did, which is really tough to deal with and takes even longer to get rid of. Do it.

SistemaAddict · 06/07/2020 21:31

I don't want to become obsessed again, that's the problem. My clothes are looser so I know my eating plan is working. That's the main thing. Once I'm out of shielding and the dc are back at school things will be much better in terms of lots more daily exercise. Until then I'm doing what I can to get fitter and slimmer.

I am bloody hungry tonight though! I guess you can't cut your calories in more than half and expect to not feel hungry.

overweightcat · 06/07/2020 21:39

@UnicornAndSparkles I don't log my exercise on MFP.
It was too tempting to eat those calories too and I ultimately plateaued a bit when I did log it and eat them before I knew better.

Not feeling great today, came in under 1200cals but went over my fats Sad.
I'm feeling a bit under the weather, very tired and headachey in general and I don't know if it's a couple of not so great days last week or I'm a bit bloated but I'm up to 55.3kg after being 54.9kg on Sunday.

wowfudge · 06/07/2020 21:44

True, but you can tweak things - drink more water, eat more lean protein, etc to feel fuller for longer.

SistemaAddict · 06/07/2020 23:53

I definitely need to work on getting more protein. I'm only getting a third of what I should be. Tofu stir fry tomorrow I think.

Tappering · 07/07/2020 07:39

Thanks Bercows.

Trying a fasting day today and will see how I get on. Got some studying to do so will try and get my head in to that as a distraction.

SistemaAddict · 07/07/2020 08:50

I always snack when studying and need to get out of the habit. I've just properly calculated the calories in my breakfast and I'm amazed how there is 104 calories in a scrape of butter on my toast. I've put the least possible amount on and weighed everything.

UnicornAndSparkles · 07/07/2020 14:54

Weigh in day today and having lost 3.5lb during the first 3 weeks, this week I've somehow gained 2lb. How?!? I've been slightly lax; had one takeaway (ate less than I would usually eat for a takeaway) but everything else remained very similar in calorie tracking. And I've added everything to MFP even the bite of falafel and the lurpak on my toast. Is this water weight or have I really managed to eat my way to a 2lb increase in a week?! Does my monthly cycle make a difference? I'm roughly mid-cycle. Argh so annoyed! It's made me want to give up.

I've gone for 2 hour long walks today and yesterday, which is really rare for me to actually be out of the house and garden, so hopefully that will help.

2lb up though Can't! Can't help thinking I may as well eat all the crisps now!

overweightcat · 07/07/2020 15:20

@UnicornAndSparkles I can gain up to 2-3lbs between first thing in the morning morning and last thing in the evening sometimes. Bodies are weird like that. I remember seeing a post by a fitness guru who works out every day and has a very clean diet where she was doing q&a and she said her weight can fluctuate anywhere between 52-55kgs which is a difference of 6lbs!

What's important is that you see it being lower than it was previously if you know what I mean, as I'm losing weight I am trying to look at it this way - so I'm 65.6kgs but I was 64.9 a few days ago, that's ok 2 or 3 weeks ago I was 66.9kgs fluctuating up into the 67s so it's progress!

It's hard and disheartening but I think that's why weight loss is so hard. It's easy to see the scales go up by or have a bad day and think "why do I bother". But staying consistent is key as it will yield results overtime.
When I started loosing weight the scales stayed firmly put for 5weeks before the initial lbs dropped off. I kept wondering if I was doing something wrong.

SistemaAddict · 07/07/2020 18:07

In my obsessed days I discovered that a good wee was equal to one pound. A good poo another 1-2lbs. Weight fluctuates depending on hydration and water retention so don't worry about small variances as long as the trend is in the right direction. You will be slightly dehydrated in the morning of course and weigh less.

I had tofu stir fry for dinner. Tofu marinated in chilli, lemon juice, ginger, soy sauce and brown sugar then coated with polenta. Carrots, pak choi, bean sprouts, red pepper, done in some garlic oil with noodles. No idea on the calories in that but pretty sure it fits my allowance as only had a smallish portion.

SistemaAddict · 07/07/2020 20:23

I want all the chocolate! ALL THE CHOCOLATE!!! I have been in lots of pain today and the dc are playing up since dinner. If I ate the chocolate then it wouldn't be there to taunt me from the shelf in the fridge. I might give in to the cravings tonight.

UnicornAndSparkles · 07/07/2020 21:01

Thanks ladies. Will keep at it and weigh again in a few days time.

Youngatheart00 · 07/07/2020 21:09

@Bercows some chocolate during AF is very well justified.

I ran again today and had salmon and veg for dinner. Surely got to be under 13st soon.....

Not weighing in until Friday morn.

SistemaAddict · 07/07/2020 23:18

The craving has passed and it's too late to eat chocolate now anyway. I've just realised how I'm no longer craving sweet things like I used to. I've adjusted to a portion of lentil chips instead of the whole bag. I occasionally want chocolate and this week has been hormonally influenced but generally I'm not too fussed. Maybe lockdown has done that in the main as I've not been able to pop to the shops for snacks like I used to. Once the weekly food shop has gone, that's it. I'll definitely be keeping to this way of shopping. I'm used to going to sleep hungry too. I'm not keen on it at all but I'm just normally hungry for breakfast instead of being ravenous so it's not doing me any harm. My daily calories are 1250 and my average is below that so all good Smile I do miss being able to eat whatever without thinking about it though. I am constantly saying no to myself.

overweightcat · 08/07/2020 08:50

Morning everyone.

Not weighing myself today but trying to rectify my bad day yesterday.
An hours walk in the rain this morning, according to my Fitbit 5.4K , 7705 steps and 432cals.

Aiming for 1200cals as usual today but this weather is making me crave all the bad stuff.
Cutting out coffee and sticking to lemon water all day.

Tappering · 08/07/2020 09:08

Morning guys.

Fasting went great until yesterday night when I ate far too much. Not a binge but a full meal and way over what I should have had. Shouldn't have done as I felt so ill having eaten sparingly until that point. I hardly slept last night as I felt so rotten. Feel better this morning but not remotely hungry!

Am currently trying to decide whether I'm brave enough to get on the scales. OTOH I know I need to know. OTOH if I weigh in over my "top" weight it will be really upsetting. Not sure what to do for the best.

Extracurricularfatigue · 08/07/2020 09:59

@Youngatheart00 I always find I stick at a weight for 3 or 4 days and then 2lbs will disappear. I've weighed myself daily for years and it fluctuates every single day even when I'm not making huge efforts to lose, but these sudden drops are totally normal, so fingers crossed for you at next weigh.

I've had one of those this morning, so am now 8lbs down in 16 days. Two more weeks of strict diet to go.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 08/07/2020 11:54

Argh! I cannot get this last pound in my first stone bracket off! I had 1/4 lb to go yesterday morning and then this morning woke up and had gained 1.25 lbs 😭😭😭

I will get there I know, it's not the end of the world it's just frustrating me!

Today I have made a vat of veggie chilli, I'll look forward to that when I finish work at 9.30 tonight.

I had a really tough physical day yesterday when an unexpected house project was fought forward to there and then rather than the slower time I'd expected. I'm aching today I can tell you.

Tappering · 08/07/2020 13:05

Braved the scales and weighed in...

...and I'm half a stone lighter than I was expecting! I'd been trying over the last few weeks to not eat so much crap but didn't think it would have made much difference. Then after feeling so crap and eating loads last night I was convinced it was going to be a disaster.

Very happy and now feel really motivated to try and keep going with positive changes. Not sure whether that will be fasting or CC but I'll keep going until I find something that works and that I can stick with.

SistemaAddict · 08/07/2020 13:47

Awesome @Tappering ! That's the kind of weigh in I'd like. I can't actually remember the last time I weighed myself but I e had the same clothes for years and they still fit, just some a bit tighter than they were Blush jeans are going in the wash so it will be interesting to see how they fit once freshly washed. They are hanging off at the moment which is how they used to be once I'd worn them for a while. I am always between sizes no matter what I weigh 🙄

Tappering · 08/07/2020 13:55

@Bercows I've been in leggings since the start of lockdown Grin

SistemaAddict · 08/07/2020 13:56

My cunning plan is to weigh myself first at the end of the day, fully clothed and with shoes on. Then do it again in the morning but naked. Then the second reading will be much better than the first. Knowing the first reading includes my clothes etc will help me mentally. It's going to cause huge anxiety so I need to mitigate that somehow. I might not weigh as much as I fear especially as most clothes still fit. But I might weigh more Confused

Tappering · 08/07/2020 14:11

Have to say I went to the loo twice, and stripped off before I got on the scales!! So your logic makes perfect sense to me

Extracurricularfatigue · 08/07/2020 15:06

Sounds like a good idea Bercows. I often weight myself at the end of the day and even at the moment while I'm eating not much I'm always 2 or 3 lbs heavier at least, even naked. So you should score yourself a decent weight loss by doing that.
