Who's in? I'm a mess.

I need a lot of work 😁

I'm going to try and ditch quite a few pounds and make myself more lovely again. I need a complete overhaul. Starting tomorrow obviously!

I've fake tanned this morning and am wearing some linen trousers I've not been able to fit into for years. I also tried on some other things I've hung on to because I liked them too much to get rid of when they didn't fit. I was very pleasantly surprised. Pretty sure they didn't fit when I weighed less than I do now, but my shape has changed through doing weights. Result!

SistemaAddict · 27/06/2020 14:21

I went for a walk outside for the first time since March!!! 2,500 steps. I wanted to walk further but SS said his legs were aching. Walking in wellies isn't the best for longer distance. He's used to walking everywhere normally. Thankfully it was very quiet. I was very anxious about going out.

Extracurricularfatigue · 27/06/2020 15:08

Excellent exercise happening all over the place. I am shamed.

I took Orlistat years ago and it had pretty much no effect on me either way.

I am half a pound down from yesterday which is significant because it’s the lightest I’ve been since I owned my scales, about 18 months, and my old scales were knackered and put me about 7lbs under where I actually was. So I think all in all it’s been a very long time since I weighed this much.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 27/06/2020 15:18

I've died my hair and I love it! It's a dark coppery ginger, I've always wanted ginger hair but have usually gone for bright reds, pinks or purple. My new base coat colour corrector is working brilliantly too - I actually feel like I look nice today as I head out to work. Smile

SistemaAddict · 27/06/2020 16:18

What colour corrector did you go for?

TitsalinaBumSquash · 27/06/2020 17:24

It's the Stila one step colour correct, it's not cheap £22 from Amazon but was highly recommended by the people in a Rosacea group in on and it's fab! I moisturised my face with Lush's dream cream then once dry I put the corrector on with some mascara and a spritz of Elf setting spray, a bit of Vaseline tinted lip seal and I was good to go! It's a great everyday quick look.

I get so paranoid because everyone I work with with is stick thin and despite being all 10-15 years older they look my age and put together, I feel like a scruffy kid next to them. Today I feel good Smile

Can't wait for my salmon, broccoli melt from WW when I get home.

Extracurricularfatigue · 27/06/2020 17:43

We’re having steak, baked potato, asparagus and salad for dinner. Can’t wait!

Does anyone have any recommendations for home hair colour please? I’ve only had it done by a hairdresser for years and years, and I’ve got an appointment for a cut this week but thought I’d hang back on the colour because the appointment was so short! Quite fancy though a bit of home colour on my new hair. I have light brown-used to be blonde hair and fancy just giving it a bit of a boost rather than a major colour change.

SistemaAddict · 27/06/2020 21:28

I had to delete my exercise off MFP as it wouldn't allow me to complete the day's diary as I hadn't eaten enough apparently. It adds the calories burned from exercise into your allowance so you can eat more. It's still not syncing with my Fitbit but this is a problem MFP are aware of and are trying to fix. My average for the week is now 1158 calories per day. I'm not sure how I'm managing on so little and not feeling rotten. It's depressing that you need to cut 3,500 calories a week to lose just 1 pound.

I've never dyed my hair. You are very brave!

SistemaAddict · 28/06/2020 07:54

Morning all. I didn't sleep well last night and ds was awake just after 6. Dd is in a right strop and it's not looking like it's going to be a good day. I'd do anything for some time on my own. 15 weeks of isolation due to shielding with no break at all. The dds haven't seen their dad since the Christmas holidays due to abuse and ds's dad doesn't want to know and never has so I am exhausted. The good news is the fridge seems to be cold again Smile
Hope everyone has a good day!

overweightcat · 28/06/2020 08:32

@Bercows hope your DD cheers up soon. We have one toddler awake since 6am this morning and one 5year old still snoring away which never happens they usually tag team to climb all over us in the morning for maximum annoyance to wake us up Grin

Official weigh in this morning is 65.5kg which is down from last weeks 66.6kg with a pre AF fluctuation up to 67kg thrown in between so I'm glad to say it looks like I'm still on track.

Hoping for a nice long walk today if the weather doesn't ruin it, or we might just throw our waterproofs on and go anyway.

Youngatheart00 · 28/06/2020 09:14

Hi @Bercows - if that’s the case with your calories and you’re also feeling (understandably!) exhausted, make sure you are nourishing yourself sufficiently. As a veggie, do you take iron supplements? No weight loss is worth it if you feel worse in the long run, not better. Hope today is a better day and that you manage to get out in the fresh air.

Been quiet here as AF week and generally not been paying enough attention to what I’m eating and drinking and haven’t exercised all week. Weight is 13.2 so a couple of pounds up since my last weigh and pretty much a plateau since initial weigh in a fortnight ago. Need to do much, much better this week.

UnicornAndSparkles · 28/06/2020 13:19

@Bercows totally understand the need for a few minutes alone time. Sorry to hear of issues with dd's dad. That can't help at all.

Had a bit of a meltdown last night as DD is so intense and clingy atm and I'm just desperate to get some level of normality back and have her at nursery a couple of days a week and me able to work at home alone. Lockdown has taken its toll.

AF has finally gone after 6 days and I weighed myself and am 2oz up from Tuesday. Argh! Only 2oz (not lb!) But even still. I blame the sushi.

We have friends over in the garden today for a socially distanced bbq. Highly likely to go over my calorie limit bc of it. Ah well, if I do I won't go mad and will start again tomorrow.

SistemaAddict · 28/06/2020 13:23

I've stuffed myself with lentil chips today. I can't eat as many as I use to and to be honest I didn't enjoy them as much. That's a a good thing!

TitsalinaBumSquash · 28/06/2020 17:05

I'm having a huge veggie stir fry with a minute amount of steak - we had 2 rump steaks to share between 6 so I've thinly sliced it and made a stir fry - no noodles so will tip a pack of coconut rice in.

See whilst losing and princessing and generally being nicer to myself I need to run down the stock pile of food in the house (I always have one in, not covid related) incase the universe smiles upon us and we do get the green light to move. I want it to be easy as possible and take as little as possible.
Our food shopping has shot up loads too so I'm trying to have meals with what we've got rather than buying more and more. In the past diets for me have failed because they were expensive or I ended up cooking so many different meals so this has to not do either of those if I want to sustain it.

SistemaAddict · 28/06/2020 18:22

I'm going to treat myself to my favourite hit chocolate tonight. I'd saved the last one for my birthday but didn't get round to it. Thank you to the poster who sent birthday wishes btw Smile I am so tired tonight. Two weeks now of not eating after 6pm and cutting down on portions and crap. I've hardly had any chocolate. In fact I think I've had as much in two weeks as I usually have in a day Blush

winterisstillcoming · 29/06/2020 08:35

Good morning all.

@bercows hope DD has cheered up a little. Solitude is so difficult to find isn't it. I'm a secret introvert and love being a homebody, but I've realised it's not the home part that I love, it's the alone part! So having to snatch walks and things to get say from it all. I appreciate you can't do this and it must be so difficult. Maybe try and run yourself a nice bath when they've finally gone to sleep??

I'm 1.5lb down which, frankly is a miracle. I'm heading into PMT which is always a week long nightmare.

A busy week planned with work, birthdays, tree surgeons coming etc so I need it to stop raining.

Going to try and get some exercise in but I really don't like indoor exercise. I need to embrace it. I'd love a peleton but I've nowhere to put and exercise bike.

Innitogether · 29/06/2020 08:50

Morning everyone. Well I started the week really well and got around 12000 steps in on the sunny days this week. Weighing every day and got down to 12st 6.8lb on Saturday, bringing me to a 7lb overall loss. Excellent!

However, I then went to M&S for the first time since March and stocked up on cheesy tasters and a dine in meal for a “treat”. So today, as a result of a treat weekend, I’m weighing in at 12st 9lb 😠. Dammit! This is good though. I know I can’t have treat days for now, exercise aids my weight loss, whole 80g bags of cheesy tasters might be within my fasting and calorie allowance, but they are not worth it, and weighing every day works for me as I can see where weight loss or gain matches my food intake on a particular day.

I hope everyone else has had a better week.

Extracurricularfatigue · 29/06/2020 09:13

Innitogether it'll just be bloat. Give it a day and you'll be back down again.

Bercows, Happy belated Birthday. I hope you enjoyed your chocolate!

*winterisstillcoming" I know exactly what you mean! I miss being alone, especially the occasional night to myself when DH was away.

I was a piglet yesterday. I stayed entirely within the Whole30 rules but had a brunch of baked sweet potato with grilled veggies and walnuts, then ate strawberries all afternoon, followed by a roast pork dinner. Since I last did Whole30 they've put potatoes back on the list of allowed food, and I think this is going to be my downfall as I adore them. According to my daily weigh I'm half a pound up on yesterday. I basically can only eat one meal a day or I pile on weight, and I'm not even menopausal yet. I think I'll have to live off air once that hits.

wowfudge · 29/06/2020 09:59

I've had a really bad weekend in terms of eating crap. I did walk six miles yesterday though, which luckily for me was during a pause in the rain. I need a goal now to stick to the eating programme I've got. I don't have an issue with the exercise side of things, but I want to lose more weight - I'm still overweight in terms of BMI and want to get rid of my flabby tummy. So no alcohol, no sweets, chocolate, cake, but I keep falling off that particular wagon. Anyone got any ideas for me to motivate myself?

Avogato · 29/06/2020 10:17

@Innitogether M&S Cheese Tasters are my weakness, love them!

I weighed last Thursday and had lost 7lb in my first week of dieting. I then ruined it by having a bad weekend by eating cake and way too much pasta. Back on it today with my Huel shakes and exercise.

Innitogether · 29/06/2020 10:41

Happy belated Birthday @Bercows Flowers

Innitogether · 29/06/2020 10:45

@wowfudge - I've bought a dog to motivate me as I'll need to take her for daily walks twice a day - might be a bit extreme though?

I pick her up a week today - I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas! Grin

Innitogether · 29/06/2020 12:21

oops @wowfudge, just realised you are asking for tips on keeping up with the diet side of things.

Well, despite falling off the bandwagon myself this week, I still think 16:8 is the best strategy for me. I do a clean fast (so basically black coffee and water during fasting times). I do find plain water boring, but I've discovered Twinings cold infuse Rose Lemonade bags, which are really nice with sparkling water. I think I must like 'rules' because once I've pressed the 'fasting' bit on my app I don't deviate, no matter how hungry I am. This means no mindless snacking at night. Also, food shopping online has helped me as I think more about what's going in the basket so crisps cake and biscuits don't make the cut (unlike when I accidentally end up in M&S!). Also, I don't eat back all my exercise calories and I don't make myself eat 1200 calories if I'm not hungry, so if I've been happy enough on 1000 cals I leave it there.

Innitogether · 29/06/2020 12:22

oh, and listening to fasting podcasts while I walk - currently The Intermittent Fasting Podcast and Fasting for Life.

Innitogether · 29/06/2020 12:25

@Avogato, me too! do you find that the weather affects your diet? I eat pretty well when the weather is good, but cake, crisps and biscuits were all on the menu this weekend when the weather was miserable.
