Who's in? I'm a mess.

I need a lot of work 😁

I'm going to try and ditch quite a few pounds and make myself more lovely again. I need a complete overhaul. Starting tomorrow obviously!

Struggling with this heat now! It’s really not compatible with being 2 stone overweight.

Not made it out for a run since Monday due to heat, and period. Feel lethargic and low but hopefully will start to feel better from tomorrow. Missing the office air conditioning too, but quite grateful on the other hand that I don’t need to be around colleagues while I’m feeling so snappy.

SistemaAddict · 25/06/2020 09:37

Morning all! Another hot and sweaty one and I've got an itchy red rash from the sun again. By the time I'd settled in bed last night I'd done over 8,000 steps so I'm increasing it today to 10,000. I thought it would be harder to achieve with just being inside but it seems not as long as I do dancing and step ups a few times a day.
I'm feeling guilty at the lack of school work
The dc are doing but it's too hot to be doing much. It will be cooler from tomorrow thank goodness.

What's on the menu today?

overweightcat · 25/06/2020 10:27

Morning all.

AF has arrived with full force and not doing great. Lovely DP let me lay in this morning by rescheduling a few things but still feel groggy with a headache coming on. Not going to attempt any exercises today just going to try to take the DCs for a walk in the woods to keep in the shade and get some steps in.

Lots and lots of water to try and shift this headache, SPF 50 for everyone and now going to have to workout what we are cooking and I really can't be bothered. We are trying not to go shopping until payday and just deplete what we have in the house because I've made up a (hopefully) simple and manageable weekly meal plan that we will be trying so we want to do a big shop next week for it all.

Hope everyone else is having a good morning and not melted yet!

TitsalinaBumSquash · 25/06/2020 13:28

Good afternoon everyone. I am officially melting. I did about 10 seconds is skipping before declaring myself dead 😅 my children think I'm amazing to be able to skip as fast as I do... they're easily impressed!

Another WW meal for lunch to make life easier dashing in and out of peoples homes for work. I've mixed my gradual tanner half and half with E45 and factor 50 because my skin is funny about everything so it's the only way I won't end up a rashy mess!
I've ordered a highly recommended colour corrector for my face today so I'm keen to see how that goes.

Currently deciding if I want to dye my hair a gingery colour or not. I've not died it in years. Was always bright red or purple.

AreYouSiriusLupin · 25/06/2020 14:26

Hi everyone. I was meant to start calorie counting yesterday but failed miserably Blush Better today.

I have set my calories to 1400 currently- what is everyone else doing? Really struggling with the heat today but going to try and get some sort of workout in later.

I made the time to do a facemask last week and lit some scented candles, relaxing in my bedroom away from the kids with some music on. Was actually quite nice, so will try and do this again soon!

UnicornAndSparkles · 25/06/2020 14:32

Afternoon all.

Some really positive results here!

I'm sticking to my cals, 1450 a day max and aiming to lose 1lb a week. Have lost 3lb 4oz in 2 weeks this far. Treating myself to a sushi tonight as I just got a promotion at work. So pleased as I had been working ridiculously hard for it. Ive saved 600 cals for it.

DD was up at 5.30 this morning so feeling the effects of the heat and early start. Looking forward to letting my hair down tonight!

AreYouSiriusLupin · 25/06/2020 14:35

Congratulations on your promotion Unicorn! Enjoy yor sushi! 🙂

SistemaAddict · 25/06/2020 14:52

Congratulations @UnicornAndSparkles! That's fantastic news Smile Enjoy your sushi. Dd1 and I are having the orzo pasta salad thingy tonight. No idea what the other two are having.

SistemaAddict · 25/06/2020 16:16

I have had chocolate and two ginger biscuits today. It's hard to keep saying no when the dc offer me stuff and I don't want them to inherit my food issues. No foods should be off limits but it's hard if you're trying to stick to a goal. I am
Looking forward to the rain and storms tomorrow. I love wild weather!

SistemaAddict · 25/06/2020 21:57

How is everyone tonight apart from hot and sweaty? I've exceeded 10,000 steps today and did 100 squats too so I'm feeling very pleased with myself. I need to get more in of a morning though but then I did get to dance around my room in peace and under the ceiling fan.
My fitness pal and the Fitbit app aren't syncing my steps. It's only registered 4.000 of them and said that had earned me 126 calories but then they disappeared so I'm confused.
Hope everyone manages to sleep despite the heat.

AreYouSiriusLupin · 25/06/2020 23:34

Do you find your fitbit helps bercows? I have been toying with buying one but I'm not sure. I was considering maybe a cheaper version to see if I actually wear the thing for long enough Grin

I had a carb heavy day yesterday and forgot my movicol in the morning, this morning I'm 0.5lb heavier than yesterday. I'm not worried though it's a fluctuation, nothing more.

Easy day for me today, very little work. I may even do some exercise. Have a great day everyone. Smile

SistemaAddict · 26/06/2020 08:11

@AreYouSiriusLupin I'm finding the Fitbit awesome. I'm very glad I got it. With being stuck at home I'm finding ways to keep moving, going up and down the stairs more, dancing around and doing the step ups. I got the charge 3 special edition as I can pay with contactless with it. It depends on your bank though as to whether it's compatible.

Extracurricularfatigue · 26/06/2020 11:16

Very impressed with exercising yesterday in the heat. I am so busy at work at the moment I’m very sedentary and also I bust my hip running the other week so can’t do anything high impact at the moment. I love my Fitbit for motivating me - just need to actually wear it! We go on ‘active’ holidays and there’s nothing like a long hike and the numbers shooting up to give me a high!

I’ve lost another pound and my BMI is now officially 28.7. This is the least I’ve been for a long time so any more weight lost and I’ll be the lightest I’ve been since I had my five year old!

SistemaAddict · 26/06/2020 13:44

Goodness me it's sweaty. I've done two lots of step ups today to try and get them in earlier in the day. I do each side for 3.5 minutes as that's the length of my favourite song Grin by that I mean I lead with my right foot for 3.5 mins then swap and do another 3.5 with my left foot. I should probably increase to 5 mins each. I'll find a longer song. My apps still won't sync and it's annoying me and I don't know what to do for dinner. I've really enjoyed the orzo pasta salad and seeing as it's hot I might have that again minus the feta as I haven't got any left.

How is everyone getting on? I feel I can't share loss achievements due to being two scared to get on the scales Sad

SistemaAddict · 26/06/2020 14:03

I ordered myself a box of truffles for my birthday. I've not touched them yet but really want to. Putting them in the fridge might be a good idea for a start. I think I am well under my target for the week so maybe I could share them with the dc.

Youngatheart00 · 26/06/2020 15:52

Happy birthday @Bercows (or has it been and gone?!). Mmmm now thinking of gorgeous refrigerated truffles.....

tiredvommachine · 26/06/2020 16:29

I went for a walk first thing this morning and also went for a walk with a colleague at about 1.30 and the difference in temperature was crazy! I'm not eating lots, just want rocket lollies, which I can't imagine are too bad to have? Slept terribly last night but hoping things cool down a bit when the storm hits

SistemaAddict · 26/06/2020 20:11

I've been tracking my intake for 7 days now and have averaged 1242 calories a day and I'm really pleased with that. I've upped my exercise significantly and not eaten after dinner for 12 days (I think), my stomach is definitely less round and bloated. I've not reached my step target for today yet though.

It's the weekend, is anyone relaxing the rules at the weekend but keeping it strict during the week?

SistemaAddict · 26/06/2020 22:32

Where are you all? Have you all melted?

My stats for today (of which I am very pleased):

10,080 steps
380 step ups
100 squats
44 active minutes (whatever that means)
4.28 miles
28 floors

I'm finding it difficult to get the 10,000 steps in. I naturally do around 7-8000. There's a lot of rain forecast for the next week so I think we will venture out for actual walks in the fresh air.

Hope you have all had a good day and are maybe enjoying a well-earned glass of something cold.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 27/06/2020 08:26

I've stay the same on the scales today again - boo! Still 9lbs down in just under 3 weeks though so I'm not complaining - although I've stayed well within t calories these past 2 days I've had carb heavy and fizzy drink heavy days so I'm going to go for more protein and fresh fruit and veg today.

We had a lovely paddle in the water yesterday in the harbour in the brilliant evening sunshine. The kids loved it!
It's meant to rain all day today so no sure what I'll do.

I'm a week off my period now and I can already feel myself getting slugging as bleh, I suffer with untreated PMDD so I'll really have to focus this next 2 weeks, I didn't usually go binge heavy but I do get severe brain fog so it's not unheard of for me to eat a meal twice forgetting I've had it. 😳🙄

Work this evening 4.30-9.30 so a very late dinner.

One of my lovely (but brutally honest) clients with severe dementia told me yesterday my face looked thinner! She has told me in the past that I look tired and doughy so it's a compliment for her. 😂

I hope everyone else has a good day.

SistemaAddict · 27/06/2020 09:11

Tired and doughy 😂 that's so funny and describes me perfectly! Everything I bake bread the dough reminds me of my belly.
Thank goodness for the coolness today. I might brave an outside walk as long as there's no storms.
Hope everyone has a good day. Ds wants to watch a film this morning but at the moment we are all fascinated with Brian cox's forces of nature. He'd be my fantasy dinner guest.

Has anyone read the Alli in lockdown thread about the drug orlistat? Scary weight loss with this drug but potential side effects are not good at all and those experiencing the best weight losses are on low calorie and low fat diets anyway. We used to prescribe it for obese patients but they could only be on it for a set amount of time and they had to make lifestyle changes too. Of course the habits are hard to break and they were still obese a year later. Drugs are very tempting but it's the long term changes that are going to make the difference. I was very tempted though reading the thread!

overweightcat · 27/06/2020 10:00

Morning everyone.
Rainy and wet but warm here today I actually really enjoy this type of weather it's fresh and the house smells lovely with all the windows open.

Have managed to stick to my 1200cals this week, had a couple of off days (thanks to AF) but didn't go over by much on those. I'm usually not counting at weekends but I will this weekend as I really want to hit my goal by August and I had a little setback - I'll maybe let myself go up to 1400-1500.
Positive though this morning my scales showed 65.9kg AFTER breakfast and coffee. I usually weigh in first thing before I had anything so I'm hoping it's a step in the right direction. I'm not counting it until tomorrow's "official weekly weigh in" though.

How is everyone? I'm considering drawing up a proper meal plan that also works for DP so we're not cooking twice (or three times if you count the DCs Grin).

tiredvommachine · 27/06/2020 11:55

I went outside this morning and danced in the rain Grin
