Who's in? I'm a mess.

I need a lot of work 😁

I'm going to try and ditch quite a few pounds and make myself more lovely again. I need a complete overhaul. Starting tomorrow obviously!

Did 16:8 diet this week, first week and tried to do 800-1000 calories a day. Lost 3lb so happy with that as only had 9lb to loose. 1/3 of the way there!

Dimlow · 22/06/2020 16:12

I just started using balance from Everymoon.co.uk a couple of weeks ago. It’s a powdered food shake thingy, I can’t eat it all and it’s reallly filing so it's stopping me from troughing all day. It doesn’t taste like rabbit food and I’m 3 pounds down. Now I just need to cut out all the wine... Yeah right. 😂

ThornsInMySides · 22/06/2020 16:18

In my quest to be a princess, I wore earrings today. At lunch time I realised that I had lost one so I retraced my steps from the dog walk this morning. Didn't find the earring, but on the plus side I had done 13,300 steps by 2.30pm.

@ThornsInMySides 😂 what a shame about your earring (hope it wasn’t an expensive one?) but great news on the steps!

I did a mile jog this morning and just done an evening walk which collectively has got me to 10,000 steps.

Starving this evening though.

Extracurricularfatigue · 22/06/2020 19:25

Hi, can I join in with your excellent efforts?

My BMI is 29 and I'm a stone down from where I was 18 months ago. That's been a time of only eating one or two meals a day, so intermittent fasting most days, of only drinking wine at weekends, of not snacking, of eating mostly low-carb and low-sugar. My metabolism just hates me. I would like to lose another stone and a half to hit BMI 25. I've been overweight my whole life but did get down there once before.

I've started a Whole30 today, which is no sugar, no dairy, no alcohol, no grains, no flour - basically, it's extreme paleo, so meat/fish/fruit/vegetables/eggs . I've done it before, which was my last time at BMI 25! Rough first day as habits have definitely gone to the bad over lockdown.

I did C25K last year and can now run a slow 5k, but have just not felt any energy for the last couple of months, after a great start to lockdown when I ran most days. I need to get back on the horse, and also fire up my Youtube workouts.

I really, really need to find out how I can lose weight, as nothing really seems to be working for me, however hard I try.

Youngatheart00 · 22/06/2020 19:41

@extracurricularfatigue you and I are BMI twins and I’m also trying to reduce from 29 to 25. And ideally down to 22 but one step at a time, that seems like way too scary a challenge at the moment even though I’ve been there before.

What’s your guilty pleasure food / drink wise? And is that your clue to kickstarting the weight loss? Mine is wine and takeaways. Haven’t cut out completely but have reduced intake.

Extracurricularfatigue · 22/06/2020 19:54

Good luck, @youngatheart00 . And keep up the running! Can you go early in the morning, before stupid youths are around?

I love wine, but have successfully limited that to weekends only for quite a while. And my downfall is takeaways too, although we only 1/2 a month now. I genuinely am quite good with food most of the time, although I basically could live off chippy chips!

SistemaAddict · 22/06/2020 20:16

Welcome new losers Grin

I'm on 1359 calories and 3218 steps which is just from walking around the house and doing two songs worth of step ups. According to the app my exercise today means that I still have 5 calories remaining in my allowance. That's probably just a sniff of chocolate 🙄 I don't think I could manage 1200'at all and it's not sustainable long term. I'm focusing on healthier habits that will be sustainable and allow me to lose the excess weight and maintain it. I'm excited for my Fitbit arriving tomorrow!

winterisstillcoming · 22/06/2020 20:52

Well done on that loss @ThornsInMySides, and everybody else.

Had a great day. Hit 10000 steps and 100 cals under but I might have a treat later. Also got in a bike ride so hopefully burned a few calories today.

I've booked in a few socially distanced walks with some friends so really looking forward to those. I'm working more now and it's really sedentary so need to make a special effort on those days.

Going to do a full skincare routine tonight instead of the usual stuffing my face.

Well done and keep going all. Hopefully this lovely weather will keep us motivated. My youngest took a picture of me and oh my the back fat.

winterisstillcoming · 22/06/2020 20:55

@Bercows 1200 is hard. I'm on that to lose 1lb a week as I am titchy. You can work your way down to it but the only way is high protein and being grumpy a lot.

Youngatheart00 · 22/06/2020 21:00

@winterisstillcoming oh yes the back fat 😫 along with my belly that’s the very worst bit of me at the moment. Underneath the bra straps, the folds 😫 I haven’t upsized my underwear and really need to. I’m definitely not a 34 back any more and my bras are leaving painful red marks. Think I might invest in some stretchy crop tops as I’m loathe to invest in new bras when I’m on a weight loss journey.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 22/06/2020 21:50

I did my toes! Got the manky, old red off them, filed them all beautifully and then repainted gold and turquoise shimmer Grin I'm not one for sedate colours on my toes and my job means I can't have long fingernails or polish on them so I like to go all out on my tootsies!

First shift back to work this evening, quite emotional, I am a community support worker with people living with dementia and my word have I missed my families I work with. Not enjoying the masks though.

Came in under cals today but then I do every day, I naturally tend to eat nothing for a few days and then everything for a few, sadly it doesn't balance out and I'm still fat.

This past 2 weeks I've been consciously eating everyday and sticking to 1200 or under.
My body isn't adjusting to the 3ltr water yet though so I spend most my life needing a wee! Hmm

SistemaAddict · 22/06/2020 22:30

I've not had any lentil chips since Friday. I could happily eat a whole big packet right now but this is night 8 of not snacking after dinner at 5/6 and I don't want to spoil it. I even resisted any of the big bar of chocolate the dc were scoffing this afternoon. And the chocolate digestives.

What's the longest any of you have ever stuck to a fitness plan, diet or healthier eating plan?

TitsalinaBumSquash · 23/06/2020 07:26

I have stuck to a few for quite a while, slimming world I did for a year, got to target and then the support tailed off a bit and after another 3 months I decided I could go it alone and promptly piled it all back on.
Team RH I was with 100% on track with the plan for nearly a year and lost and regained the same 2lb Hmm

That's one of the reasons I have gone for very simple calorie counting this time. In Vs out. I have purposely avoided trying to fiddle with my calories too much to allow sweets and chocolate as I know that's a slippery slope for me. I have also said that if I go out to dinner or there's a birthday I will eat whatever I want for that meal with no shame or anxiety and I might have a pudding if I fancy it before coming back to my cals the next day, this is to avoid the feeling of "OMG I'll never eat an unrestricted meal in my life again, what's the point!" That I suffer with.

I've been doing this 13 days today (I'm a daily weigher) and I've lost 7lbs. Smile

My gentle tanner is arriving today so I'll start using that too.

Courtney10891 · 23/06/2020 07:53

Not even 8am and already managed to do a workout and drink a litre of water. Not sure how I managed it but feels good to get it out the way nice and early x

SistemaAddict · 23/06/2020 09:01

Morning all. I've discovered dancing to my favourite song while waiting for my toast equals 280 steps. I shall start dancing when cooking all the time now as it's a great way to increase my step count. I seem to remember reading about doing HIIT workouts in the kitchen while cooking. Maybe I should look at those too. I can't wait to get out on my bike. Now that shielding is being lifted my mum will be able to look after the dc while I go for a ride. No way I'd manage my usual 11 miles after so little exercise these past months but maybe she'd be happy to watch them for an hour or two once a week.

winterisstillcoming · 23/06/2020 09:03

Nice 👍🏽 @Courtney10891

Ive woken up hungry which hopefully means that some calories are being burnt.

I'm determine to punch through the inevitable hunger. Lots of protein!

overweightcat · 23/06/2020 09:05

Well done @TitsalinaBumSquash !
And @Courtney10891 ! - it feels good doesn't it? I've just started trying to get into the habit of doing some sort of exercise early before DCs are up because I know if I do I will be able to keep it up (or at least do my best) when we are back to a bit more of a normal schedule.

Workout ticked off for today, showered, dressed, caffeinated and ticked off the first couple of things off my to do list with lots more to go as the house is a tip.
Aiming for 1200cals today.

Hope everyone has a good day!

SistemaAddict · 23/06/2020 09:36

Ooooh the Fitbit is due for delivery before lunch today. I'm so excited! It's a shame 😂 my ex bought me one for Valentine's Day a few years back and I was mightily offended as was thinner then and he was obese. He totally ignored any of my preferences and it wasn't my style at all and it went back. I've cursed myself many times since for not keeping it. It looked so clunky and wasn't me at all and it was insulting in my mind. Especially when teamed with a cake that was neither vegetarian or compatible with the low FODMAP diet I was doing at the time to ease my ibs. We split up a week later! Of course I should have ended it at the start when he said I needed to lose as much weight as he did. He was 4 stone overweight at least and I wanted to shift 7 pounds. Cheeky sod. Ah well, live and learn.

winterisstillcoming · 23/06/2020 09:42

@Bercows good for you for sending it back. You've bought it now, but on your terms, not his.

justanotherneighinparadise · 23/06/2020 10:07

I’m back down a pound so eight pounds lost in all. I’m in this for the long haul so weighing daily and playing about with food.

Things I know put weight on quickly with me are sugar and fat (.I know, not rocket science!). But going low carb and drizzling too much oil around the place will not make me lose weight. Going low fat and eating sugar won’t make me lose weight. Fasting and then eating shit in my eating window won’t make me lose weight.

What does make me lose weight is a predominately plant based diet keeping dairy at a minimum. So that’s what works for me! Just got to keep going and hope the pounds slowly come off.

SistemaAddict · 23/06/2020 11:31

It's arrived!!! I'm worried to discover it contains nickel though and I'm allergic 😩 I'm hoping that I have grown out of the allergy as it is decades since I wore anything with nickel. I'm also very happy that it asked me my sex, not gender 😃

CaCaCaCaffeineBomb · 23/06/2020 11:36

As of yesterday I'm back on the own brand slim fast shakes. I actually really enjoy them.

They make me fart like someone just sat on a piglet who was riding a duck.

Hello!
I did my 16:8 as usual yesterday (19:5 in reality) but bad news on the school return plans and some unwelcome comments from a friend sent me into biscoff frenzy. I did manage to put rosehip oil on my face in am attempt to dewrinkleise myself.

It's a new day. Will eat less biscuits and maybe get painting my nails.

Good luck, comrades, to weightless!
