Who's in? I'm a mess.

I need a lot of work 😁

I'm going to try and ditch quite a few pounds and make myself more lovely again. I need a complete overhaul. Starting tomorrow obviously!

I’m late 30s so feel your pain too!

I was a 10/12 but definitely a good 14 now and not carrying it well. Refuse to spend on a whole load of new clothes so living in stretchy / baggy things. I definitely feel better for having had a whole week of healthy(er) living though. Being active makes the world of difference.

Totally understand re cautious approach if past eating disorders. A focus on health and strength alongside how your clothes are fitting sounds an excellent strategy!!

TitsalinaBumSquash · 21/06/2020 17:41

I can't remember the last time I wore trousers that I had to do up Grin I am a jeggins type gal or wrap dress and thick tights for work.
We've been for a lovely walk around the local nature reserve today in the sunshine and I've had a good food day,
DD was determined we were making griddle scones with a poached egg and a slice dog bacon for breakfast (she's looking though all my cookbooks and saw this is Jack Munroe's book) so I had a very simple spinach and tomato curry for dinner, I need to balance running the food down to hopefully move and still eating healthily.

I'm feeling good going into another week. I'm always ratty and bloated during the week before AF so I'm sure I'll be here moaning and groaning.
I'm back to work next week too and my first shift is with a lovely elderly couple who love to feed me soft cheese and thick crusty bread 🤦🏻‍♀️ I'm going to have to politely decline.

MyHomeHasPeculiarChildren · 21/06/2020 18:04

Hi everyone, can I join you? I've somehow managed to only put on 2lbs in lockdown but that's on top of the half a stone I already needed to lose so I'd love to get rid of between 10lbs and a stone. I'm ok on the exercise front but I'm living proof that you can't outrun a bad diet!!
Snacking seems to be my main problem so no snacks started yesterday and going to aim for smaller portions and lighter meals.

SistemaAddict · 21/06/2020 19:06

Welcome @MyHomeHasPeculiarChildren Smile

I have enjoyed my dinner so much today. I love making homemade dishes and this one was possibly the best pasta one yet, made completely from scratch. The best thing though was that I only put a child's size portion in my plate, had 2 garlic dough balls and was stuffed. I'd have normally had 3 helpings so my stomach must have shrunk-on the inside anyway! It's only taken a week of cutting down so I'm really happy about that.

SistemaAddict · 21/06/2020 23:20

I've remembered to do the facial 3 step before bed again tonight. I'm getting into a good routine and liking it. I'm 72 calories under my target today which is great. I know lots of people aim for 1200 but I find that too restrictive and I don't sleep well therefore I'm doing 1400. Being honest I'm probably cutting 1000 a day out due to not eating after dinner (that was at least 500) and eating less at meal times with very little in the way of snacks. I need to up my protein. More tofu. I forgot to order soy sauce unfortunately and don't have maple syrup. I normally marinate the tofu in soy sauce, maple syrup, ginger, lemon juice and chilli.

Thank you so much for this thread. Apart from being healthier it's really helping to look after my skin and nails better and to take better care of myself in general. I'm not stereotypically girly and don't like the term girly but it's doing me good to pamper myself a little.

UnicornAndSparkles · 22/06/2020 07:52

AF arrived this morning and I weighed myself after a bit of a careless weekend; I didnt go overboard but definitely ate more than I needed with picky bits here and there and a bottle of wine over 3 nights.

My first week I lost 2.2lb and this second week I'm only down 1lb, which is a bit depressing, but have to remind myself that 1lb a week was my target. Aiming for 1450 cals a day. Before I would easily have 500 extra cals on biscuits, wine, cake etc and I've really cut back on that. Still need to lose 2 stone though. Ugh such a slog!

SistemaAddict · 22/06/2020 08:05

UnicornAndSparkles good going!

My jeans are definitely looser. Last week I had to take them off they were so uncomfortable and now I have the usual baggy bits at the knees and hips after I've worn them fir a few hours. My belly isn't bulging as much either. I haven't weighed myself in about 2 years and I'm annoyed that I've left it so long so that it's become a massive thing. I've ordered a Fitbit. I'm justifying it by saying I'll spend less on food as what we have will last longer if I'm not eating as much. It will also encourage me to move more and be more accountable for my health and weight.

Innitogether · 22/06/2020 08:35

Morning everyone Smile. Well I have to admit I’m failing miserably on the princessing front (I’ve charged up my clarisonic and cut my toenails this week), however I have done really well on the diet front. I’m doing 16:8 and logging everything on my nutracheck app, aiming for 1200 cals per day. I weighed in last Monday at 12st 13.4lb and today I weigh 12st 8.2lb, so a 5.2lb loss in the first week. I’m thrilled with that, it’s the spur I need to keep going. I know the losses will slow down now, but I’m sticking to IF and will start doing exercise from today too (and will use my Dove gradual tan after my shower).

winterisstillcoming · 22/06/2020 08:44

Hey all. Despite going on and off the wagon, I've lost half a pound. Really motivated this morning though. Fitbit is on!

SistemaAddict · 22/06/2020 09:01

Lockdown has given me a bad case of inertia and I'm prone to still being in my pjs at gone 11am. I set my alarm this morning and was up at 7, straight in the shower, shaved my legs, dressed, make up on and had a cup of tea in the garden to get some vitamin d. I painted my toe nails on Saturday Smile

Youngatheart00 · 22/06/2020 09:26

Toenails painted here too! However the princessing challenged by some ugly feet blisters after another jog done. I need to get some proper running socks. Spurred on by the fact I weighed in this morning and I’m still stuck at 13.0st haven’t moved since last weigh in. That said I am pre menstrual. So may leave next weigh in until the weekend.

overweightcat · 22/06/2020 09:30

Morning!
Was up on and off last night, was too warm even with the fan on but crawled out of bed this morning and did 20 mins + 7 min abs with much angst.
Showered now, going to moisturise face and body and wear a dress today to let it all sink in nicely.

Trying for 1200cals again and maybe a walk later.

ThornsInMySides · 22/06/2020 09:41

Morning and well done to the losers.

I am so happy to have lost 4lbs this week. I started at 11st 12.5 and now weigh 11st 8.5

On the princessing front I have put make up on every day and removed in the evenings. I've shaved a few times and body moisturised. I've getting really good at putting hand cream on multiple times a day

I have also managed at least 10.000 steps a day. On three occasions I managed just over 13,000. Have been walking the dog at least twice a day, this morning I was out walking by 8.15.

Enjoy your day.

@Bercows I am glad that you have decided to get a Fitbit. I've used mine all week and it's has really kept me motivated with steps and drinking water plus logging what I eat. The good thing is the charge lasts about 6 days so you won't have to keep remembering to put it on charge like a mobile.

I live in a town house and am up and stairs all day but don't carry my phone with me all day so I'm missing out on steps and flights of stairs. A Fitbit will fix that. I don't know what time it will arrive so I'll set some targets for Wednesday. Anyone want to give me some steps to aim for? Best in mind I'm stuck in the house/small garden.

D1ngledanglers · 22/06/2020 11:23

I'm a loser too Grin
2 lbs down - total lost 2lb

Im doing IF, alternating between a 7 min stomach flab routine or 30 min you tube workout and fit bit is on averaging 13k steps.
Very pleased.
I've also dyed my hair - vast improvement & am cleansing & moisturing 2 x daily. Need to do a face mask, paint those nails & grate my feet (they're disgusting)
Well done to all of you!

TitsalinaBumSquash · 22/06/2020 11:28

Well done to all you losers. Grin

I've been on a lovely walk with my sister today for a good natter. I'm going to give myself a little pedi today I think if I can unearth the stuff to do it.

JunoJigglewick · 22/06/2020 11:34

Hello!
Can I join? I'm feeling the effects of a complete lack of self control over lockdown. We started buying biscuits and sweets as a means of keeping the kids onside (bribery = school work got done so DH and I could work) but I've been eating them all. As well as all the bread.

In doing 16:8 but really taking the piss with how much I eat during the eating window so need to get a real handle on that for my mental health as much as weight.

I run x2 a week, try and force the kids out for a veeeerrrry leisurely walk each day and trying a Joe Wicks workout x2 per week. I've maintained rather than shovel on too much weight. I'm 78kg and 5ft7. I want to get to 72kg.

I turn 40 this summer too and want to look better. So I will be taking Bette care of my hair and will see what I should do to try and smooth the wrinkles more. I've stopped over plucking my eyebrows (such a 90s kid) and once I've sorted out a gruesome running injury toenail I will paint the toenails. Fingernails painted make me happy.

So I'm going to just take better care of myself.

You have all inspired me! Well done!

Carriemac · 22/06/2020 12:36

I'm in . 5'4'' and over 13 stone
I've booked a private Pilates session tonight with a PT, I've never met her and I'm embarrassed at how fat and unfit I am but I need to tone as well as lose the lard .

Courtney10891 · 22/06/2020 12:39

Hi all,

Managed to lose 1lb quite Surprised considering I had a Chinese takeaway last night I signed up to a online gym session which was actually quite fun to do this morning. It’s actually made me really energised for the day. The weather this week in London looks amazing put me in a good mood and gave me that take up the bum to maybe sort my hair and nails out x

SistemaAddict · 22/06/2020 12:47

During lockdown one of the few things to look forward to has been nice treats and with not being able to get out and about as normal Then it's no surprise people have put on weight. I just keep telling myself it will come off again if we are ever back to normal.

ThornsInMySides · 22/06/2020 13:00

Well done losers and hello @JunoJigglewick

I'm feeling lazy today but will take the doggo out for another walk after lunch.

This week looks like it is going to be really hot where I am which means less clothing and more fat on show!

Hi,

What Fitbit do you have? Want to get one but not sure which one x

SistemaAddict · 22/06/2020 15:37

I've ordered the charge 3 special edition.
I've reduced my daily allowance to 1350 and Sad how little there is left over for dinner. That 50 calories seems to have made a lot of difference.

fitflopqueen · 22/06/2020 15:38

I am now on week 2 of C25K, just need to persevere when it warms up later in the week. May get the bike out tomorrow, we have a good canal towpath close by.
Haven't weighed and would rather go by how tight clothes are fitting, had a goodish week diet wise but a rum cocktail made by a friend on Saturday night made me feel a bit rough yesterday.
Trying to drink lots of fluids, always have lots of veg and fruit.
Sporting painted toes after giving nails a few weeks of bareness and nail oil. Have to keep chiselling heels regularly though
