@lovinglavidaloca I use protein powder and it varies hugely in taste. I usually get smart phd chocolate brownie and that's pretty good. I either drink it or make brownies or a mousse. There are recipes on the back of the pack.

I bought a different brand this time and it's absolutely foul! I'm not sure I'm going to get through it.

@redavocado I once tried a vegan protein powder. It was chocolate flavour and sounded promising. Ugh, it was the most disgusting thing I've ever tasted!

I tend to steer clear of powders and bars these days, and get most of my protein from Greek yoghurt.

I'm having a day where I just want to eat, but there's no way I'm falling off now, especially with weigh in day tomorrow!

Maybe I’ll try a couple of ready made up milk shakes in that case rather than buying a whole load of powder and hating it. Thanks both Grin

You can buy samples (individually or as a box of various flavours) from myprotein. Do NOT get dark chocolate and salted caramel! Envy(not envy)

Having an ok day here - migraine lingering, not helped by back to back work zoom meetings 😩 Food-wise, I hope to lose at least a pound at tomorrow's weigh-in. Have gone back to the exercise this morning after 3 days of nothing, so feeling quite positive that I can stick to the plan this time!

I should add that it's my 50th at the end if the month so be wonderful if I could lose a stone by then! Now or never!

@lovinglavidaloca another vote for PHD protein powders - i usually buy the vanilla and chocolate brownie one. Vanilla is a great base for me to add some frozen berries to and vary the taste every morning.

Today it was a handful of frozen berries, some frozen kale and whizzed with the protein powder. Tastes delish.

Better day so far, no breakfast, an apple mid morning and scrambled egg on a piece of toast for lunch. Have resisted any chocolate up to now, although not sure if I'll make it to the end of the day.

Well I've had a mini breakthrough today! I loathe exercise in all it's forms, but I have now apparently found a program I actually like doing. I did a workout today, even though it's not my scheduled day, and I really enjoyed doing it

Chocolate brownie sounds right up my street!

What exercise are you doing Snitch?

We’ve just been to the ice cream van! Have put it into Nutracheck as best I can though.

@lovinglavidaloca I signed up to the DDP Yoga app. I'd had a go with my brother's dvds last year, but had to give them back and couldn't afford the outlay and postage from America.

The app is brilliant and some of the results are amazing from people helped. This is the guy who inspired me to do it, if he can do it, I have no excuse

Hi guys, some great positivity on here today. I've been to work today and come home starving! Eaten a tin of tuna as feel like I'm lacking protein today. Going to have a cuppa and let the tuna go down then going for a run.

Not sure how weigh in will go as I'm on my period this week, and the weekend drinking Grin

That video is amazing, great when he runs at the end after being told he wouldn't walk again.

@OwlinaTree You sound like me. I too eat random sources of protein (eg small tin of beans)

I'm not a mushy or sensitive person, but I admit I did shead a little tear the first time I watched that video and he started running

I’ve just been for an ‘extra’ run. I’m not supposed to run again until tomorrow (I’m doing c25k and run every other day) but had a moment of snack weakness and so felt I had to do something to make up for it.

Haha sunshine!!

How do we all do with drinking water? When I’m at work I manage about 3 pints per day which I’m sure still isn’t enough but at home just now I’m lucky if I drink that in a week and my skin is suffering for it.

JonHammIsMyJamm · 13/05/2020 19:31

I’m stopping eating for today. I’m 116 under so I’m calling it a day. Fingers crossed for good news in the morning

JonHammIsMyJamm · 13/05/2020 19:34

@lovinglavidaloca, water is the only cold drink I drink (other than alcohol) so I do ok. I drink about 5 pints of water a day on a bad day. I need to drink more than the avg person though as I take a medication which puts me at risk of dehydration and kidney stones. Lucky I like water really!

diege · 13/05/2020 19:35

People are doing so well!!! I'm taking lots of inspiration from the meal ideas too.
I hardly ever drink water 😩 I had a glass with my workout this morning, but usually decaf tea, coffee and Diet Coke 😔 Appalling I know!

To be fair @diege, this is the first 48hrs where I’ve done even halfway ok food wise and I still had a snack snack attack Hmm.

Jonhamm but you ran after the snack-fest! 😆 I'd say that's taking responsibility 😅 I've eaten healthily today, and haven't craved sugar this week - not sure I like that!

Have around 200 cals left on MFP - possibly a couple of rich teas later? Rock and roll! 😂

Report
sushinelove · 13/05/2020 19:50

I'm low carbing but keeping an eye on mfp at the same time. Going walking so might manage something treat like later. Drinking loads of water is definitely key to helping with weight loss
