Another with the weight on the tummy! Arms too, which I hate 😩 Size 12 on top, size 8 on bottom, like an upside down triangle 🤣
Going to try and make a lentil roast today...Haven't eaten red meat since I was 16, but have also stopped eating chicken recently, so am experimenting with other veggie dishes rather than the usual Quorn-based meals I've relied on for years. I cook meat for the DCs, but may try and tempt them with today's vegan offering 🤣
The scales just aren't shifting here, but I'm keeping on going!
Have a good weekend everyone!

It’s true, @MrsSnitchnose, BMI doesn’t tell the whole story. DH is technically ‘overweight’ according to BMI but he is of a stocky build, has a flat stomach with very little to ‘pinch’, is very much in proportion and exercises a lot. If he does have a little bit extra, he carries it very well. I really don’t. Build accounts for a lot.

OneOfTheGrundys · 30/05/2020 10:34

I’m fitter and faster than I’ve ever been but, paradoxically, fatter! I don’t get it... I can fairly comfortably run a 10k but my bmi is mahoosive and I’m a 16! Bit gutted today!

OwlinaTree · 30/05/2020 11:22

Don't be gutted Grundy. I'd love to be able to run 10k, the most I've done so far is 6k. It's hard work in this heat though!

OneOfTheGrundys · 30/05/2020 11:32

Thank you 😊 it’s years of overeating and no exercise I’m paying for now!
6k in the heat is loads! Sweating is good for skin too!!

MrsSnitchnose · 30/05/2020 12:21

@JonHammIsMyJamm BMI is pretty much useless if someone is carrying more muscle!

I'm resting today, but I can feel a satisfying soreness in my shoulders from my last workout. The first couple of weeks I didn't think it was doing anything, but now I'm sure something is happening with my back. It's starting to feel different and I swear my shoulders are getting more defined.

I'm excited to see what will happen next, it will help me not put too much focus on the scales if I can see some results Smile

Too hot to be doing much exercise here! I’m due to go for a run but will just do a HIIT later on instead because I know I’ll struggle in this heat.

I’m so glad I’ve done this just now - since the beginning of April I’ve lost 12lbs and although I still have a couple of stone to go I already feel so much better in myself and comfortable enough to wear shorts whereas I wouldn’t have before. I could so easily have gone the other way in lockdown and gained a whole load of weight.

JonHammIsMyJamm · 30/05/2020 14:40

It’s boiling here too (SW England). I’m supposed to run today but I’ve walked the dog and we’ve got a skip so we’re halfway through a massive clear out and and I’ve already done 18k steps. The run can wait.

OwlinaTree · 30/05/2020 15:15

Well done on all the activity guys! Glad the exercise is starting to pay off snitch.

I'm very pleased because I'm wearing a sundress I bought in about 2010 pre children!

overwork · 30/05/2020 20:31

That's a brilliant achievement @lovinglavidaloca well done you. You'll be sashaying out of lockdown at this rate!

JonHammIsMyJamm · 31/05/2020 14:03

So, no booze for me today.

Dog walk first thing - about 3 miles in a local woods/nature reserve

Run - 5.5km/3.5 miles ish.

Plus some more skip filling later on will add some more steps/exercise on. It’s fair to say, I’ve done ok for exercise today.

Food wise, I’ve had breakfast. I had 1 & 1/2 slices of sourdough with smooth peanut butter and banana, cup of tea & 2 pints of water. Lunch/dinner is a pork roast.

How is everyone else’s Sunday going?

JonHammIsMyJamm · 31/05/2020 14:04

@lovinglavidaloca 12lbs since April is a huge achievement! Well done you Smile

MrsSnitchnose · 31/05/2020 14:14

@JonHammIsMyJamm Hey Jon, sounds like you're having a good day.

Did my workout this morning, a whole hour today and my muscles are a little sore Grin Only had a protein shake so far but got a large tea to look forward to.

I'm on a thread at the moment trying to disuade a poster from her near starvation diet. Anyone else reading it?

No, I avoid that sort of thing, @MrsSnitchnose. I’ve got a history of ED (primarily bulimia but periods of anorexia with purging thrown in for good measure) and those threads trigger me something chronic. Plus, they generally turn out to be trolls/PBPs and I’ve been triggered for no good reason. I’ve learned to just not look at them now.

MrsSnitchnose · 31/05/2020 14:56

Fair enough Jon This one would definitely fall into the category of ED.

Glad to hear you're doing better Flowers

JonHammIsMyJamm · 31/05/2020 15:13

Ah, thanks Smile. I do fall into bad habits when I get stressed (it’s a control thing, not a weight thing) but I’ve not relapsed for a good while. Things are ok atm.

diege · 31/05/2020 20:26

That sounds like a great exercise (and diet) day jon, very inspiring! You too MrsSnitch!
I've had a good day too. I'm finding more and more of my diet is plant-based, and do feel I've got a lot more energy. Added in a 30 minute workout and really hope I've dropped last weeks gain!

lovinglavidaloca · 01/06/2020 09:20

1lb on for me which I fully expected after my huge loss last week and I actually thought it would be worse as I also have my period.

Here’s to a better week for me. Slipped up big style on the exercise front last week for one reason or another and ate a good few hundred calories than usual over the course of the week.

Good luck for this week everyone Grin

MrsSnitchnose · 01/06/2020 11:12

@diege You sound like me diet wise, I don't eat a lot of meat either except a bit of chicken now and again. It wasn't a conscious desicion I made, I just prefer the vege option.

My friend is vegan. Gave it a try for a little while but I couldn't be doing with it. Life without cheese is no life at all and they'll prize mine from my cold, dead hands 😂

OP posts:
Fabulodosus · 01/06/2020 16:05

@mrssnitchnose that's like me! I basically have my own diet which is mainly vegan with a bit of whatever else I fancy thrown in 🤣🤣 I tried getting ideas from vegan groups but they are all too hard lined... 🙈

@lovinglavidaloca glad it was better than you were expecting! I need to get this week out of the way... two birthdays in our house, I've eaten rubbish every day and have lost my mojo for exercise 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

OwlinaTree · 01/06/2020 20:16

Glad there's been some good days on here today. A good loss last week means you are still winning loving. Enjoy the birthdays fabulodosus!

I had quite a bit to drink yesterday in the end, the in-laws came over for a socially distant BBQ and we drank a bit of cava, then I went on to the gin! Was all good.

On plan again today, overnight oats for breakfast, soup and fruit for lunch, went for a run, salmon, veg and spuds for tea. Will have a bit of chocolate later with a cuppa. Struggled a bit with the run, don't think I'd had enough to drink during the day, but got there.

MrsSnitchnose · 02/06/2020 15:56

@OwlinaTree I can't believe you managed a run after drinking the day before!

Don't know whether it's the heat today or because I've pushed myself a little more this week, but my workout was a real struggle today. Powered through but I'm knackered now.

In other news, I'm actually being allowed to go into work for a couple if hours tomorrow to sort some things out. Nevet thought I'd be so excited to go to work 😂

OP posts:
diege · 02/06/2020 16:01

Sounds like you are indeed on plan owlina!
mrssnitch Im the same! Many of my meals are vegan, but while I can take or leave the cheese, I can't give up the milk!! I'm also very partial to an egg salad.
I've had a stressful day. Eldest dd had her 4 monthly MRI scan this morning (she was diagnosed with a high grade brain tumour in 2018, surgery then radiotherapy followed). We've had a clear brain/spine scan today which is a massive relief as you can imagine. I think I might treat myself to something alcoholic and fizzy tonight! 🤣

JonHammIsMyJamm · 02/06/2020 16:06

Congratulations to the @diege family! 💐🥳👏. That news definitely warrants a celebratory veer off plan.

Well done everyone.

I’ve finished c25k today (woohooo!) but haven’t been great food wise as I ate half a box of Charbonnel and Walker pink champagne truffles that I forgot I had. That’s probably about 450 cals I shouldn’t have ingested. I’m crap at this dieting lark.

MrsSnitchnose · 02/06/2020 16:16

That's great @diege must be a weight off your mind. Definitely a treat in order
