Actually did manage a short walk today as it cleared up a bit. It’s lovely now though!

My OH won’t be home until after 7 (Angry) so we’re just having pizza and doughballs for dinner. I’m attempting sweet potato fries in the Actifry. Have read to cost them in cornflour to get them crispy but I bet they’ll still be soggy!

Inchbyinch · 25/05/2020 08:54

How did the sweet potato fries go? I’ve never managed to make those into anything but a limp, sticky mess. The last coupe of days I’ve managed to eat less but not as low as I need to be so I’m aiming for 1400 today to be properly on the job. Bodypump later.

OneOfTheGrundys · 25/05/2020 09:20

Yes, if those fries worked out I really need to know how you did it! Mine just go all slimy and floppy!
I arrived home from running yesterday to my lovely friend on the driveway with 2 warm home made cakes for us.
But I just had some for breakfast so they need hiding now 😂 well fallen off the wagon today already!!!

lovinglavidaloca · 25/05/2020 09:28

Fry update: FAIL! I obviously used too much cornflour so they came out with a white powdery coating. I tried a few and convinced myself that once you chewed them up they tasted fine. OH took one bite and declared them ‘fag ash’ and spat it out. May try again at some point going easy on the cornflour.

Weight update: I’ve only lost 8 BLOODY POUNDS this week after hitting 11 stone on the nose a fortnight ago then going back up to 11 stone 3 a week ago - this morning 10 stone 9!!! I’m certain 2/3/4 of these will come back on next week to mess with me but it makes me so glad I’ve kept going. So disheartening to lose then gain, lose then gain but as long as the overall trajectory is down then I can’t complain.

Anyone else weighing today? Have a great bank holiday Monday everyone! It’s finally looking nicer here.

OneOfTheGrundys · 25/05/2020 09:34

That is AMAZING!!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟

OneOfTheGrundys · 25/05/2020 09:35

Not weighing today. Back in bed with Pet Semetary and a tea. Very lazy 😂

Inchbyinch · 25/05/2020 09:53

8 pounds!!! Now that is really brilliant!

redavocado · 25/05/2020 10:26

@lovinglavidaloca that's amazing!! Well done! You've given me new hope as well. Totm last week and my weight has been hovering around 11st6 since then. Fingers crossed it suddenly plummets at some point this week.

Queenoftheashes · 25/05/2020 10:26

Well done loving
I dread to think what I weigh after yesterday’s Cinnabon fiasco

Minnie123456 · 25/05/2020 11:03

Well done @lovinglavidaloca that's amazing.

OwlinaTree · 25/05/2020 11:06

Great loss loving

sushinelove · 25/05/2020 11:34

Get in there @lovinglavidaloca that's fantastic, well done

MrsSnitchnose · 25/05/2020 11:55

Well done @lovinglavidaloca!

No weighing today, usually do it Thursday to sync with others on here. I'm a bit of a scale addict though so may try and step away from them for a few weeks (slight tendancy to become obsessive)

Thanks all! As I say, some will definitely be back on my next week going by my previous patterns but it’s reassuring to see the pattern and it’ll stop me feeling so down about a gain.

Hope you’re all having a nice day :)

diege · 25/05/2020 14:46

Hello everyone! Just reading back and catching up as haven't had time to post these last few days. Some amazing losses and great food ideas. I have sweet potato fries about once or twice a week, but always bake in the oven with salt and a bit of paprika. Fried ones sound wonderful!
I'm keeping to the diet but getting a bit fed up with food choices. Eating healthily but starting to crave choc, chips etc. and generally wanting to binge on crap 🤣 Birthday Wednesday and don't know if I should just go for it, or just proceed as normal but with cake? 😅

Queenoftheashes · 25/05/2020 15:54

Good lord, have your birthday off!

lovinglavidaloca · 25/05/2020 16:27

Definitely have your birthday off Diege!

I’m considering moving to a daily weigh. At the moment I haven’t been because I didn’t want daily fluctuations to send me off track but apparently I have huge weekly fluctuations. I’ve been reading about tracking your weight daily and using the average during the week for your actual weight you go by. The article then mentioned for women having an anchor week of the week your period starts and using that comparison month to month to actually see what you’re losing - that relies on a regular cycle I assume. I’ll need to have a think about it. I update my weight loss spreadsheet daily anyway so could do it quite easily.

OwlinaTree · 25/05/2020 17:11

When I got to target at slimming world I used to go about once a month/4 weeks ish to keep an eye on my weight. I found that worked quite well as I could time it for when I'd get a realistic weight after a normal weekend rather than after a big weekend away or something. I never weighed myself at home.

I've stayed weighing weekly again after joining this thread really. I'm making an effort to lose a little at the mo rather than maintain too.

Snitch hope you are ok. I must admit I walk a fine line with dieting. I know I could never calorie count as I'd get obsessed with how many calories in stuff. Could you try a different approach to your eating rather than calories counting?

OwlinaTree · 25/05/2020 17:13

Been for a run today, ran 6km!! First time I've run that far. Food so far, omelette with mushrooms and tomatoes and a bit of cheese, couple of apples, pear, satsuma. BBQ later, going to be pulled pork, burgers, sausages, homemade coleslaw, corn on the cob. Yum yum yum!

Queenoftheashes · 25/05/2020 18:37

@lovinglavidaloca I weigh most days. When I get a low one I log in mfp. I prefer it as it keeps me motivated when it’s going down slightly every few days. Once a week and you might get an anomalous higher weight and wait a week before seeing a difference.

@OwlinaTree well done! I am still trying to get to 5!

MrsSnitchnose · 25/05/2020 20:12

@OwlinaTree I'm fine thanks Smile It's not the calorie counting that's the problem. It's the scales that take over my life. I've joined the fb group for my DDP app and I'm trying to change the way I think, talking myself into going of how my body is changing shape, rather than how much I weigh.

I may do weekly, or maybe monthly to coincide with my measurements

OwlinaTree · 25/05/2020 20:27

That sounds like a good plan snitch. I wish I'd taken some measurements before starting the running!

OneOfTheGrundys · 25/05/2020 21:22

6 is a great distance! Well done.
I’ve fallen off the wagon spectacularly today. Oh well. Begin again tomorrow.
Re. the scales... I did sw and they became a real issue. I could feel their presence all the time in the bathroom, nerve wracking every time I got on. I do try and think about the effects of eating I can’t see or measure... healthier heart, stronger muscles etc. It seems to help me.

Minnie123456 · 25/05/2020 22:30

170 calories over my limit today, it was my snacks that put me over, all I had was an ice lolly,an ice pop,a cup of tea no sugar and a small tin of pineapple chunks, scary how the calories add up.
I managed two walks today with dd,we needed out of the house and there was no-one around us. First was for an hour slow paced as dd doesn't like walking and 2nd for 30mins slow pace as she was on her bike. It was just nice to get some fresh air.

diege · 26/05/2020 08:21

minnie I agree, the snacks really add up. Even though I I'm technically under my cals each day, my combined snack cals are around 500 cals. Have the habit of something mid afternoon, sometimes late morning, always before bed so may try to cut down (it's always biscuits too!).

Yes, will go for it on my birthday 🤣 Planning a trip to M&S - day so more!
