Can I join you? I’ve struggled with my weight all my life because I’m not very moderate in anything and I also eat how I feel! At the moment I’m the heaviest I’ve been for years and years and I feel so uncomfortable and out of control. I lost 5lbs a couple of weeks ago but then stalled. My plan is to calorie count and cut out wine for a while. I’ve got les mills on demand so I’m going to do that as well. I did Bodypump twice this week having not done it for ages and now can’t straighten my arms! But it’ll come, I reckon I’ve got about 4 st to lose which is a massive amount! But if I lost 3lbs I would be 13 something instead of 14 something. None of my clothes fit. Got to do something.

OwlinaTree · 23/05/2020 10:13

Welcome inchbyinch! It is a very supportive group.

lovinglavidaloca · 23/05/2020 10:47

Another absolutely rubbish weather day here today! It’ll be a day in the house for us Sad

We get our food shopping on a Sunday so by Saturday we’re scraping the barrel.

Will have soup for lunch and I’m not even sure what’s for dinner!

Rumandcoke41 · 23/05/2020 10:49

Hi everyone 👋
I've had to change my weigh in day to a Saturday as it fits in better for me. 2lbs off for me which makes up for sts last week. I've had an okay week foodwise but have lacked massively in the exercise department, basically I've gone to work and walked the dog and that's it. Just had one of those weeks.
Going to be more proactive this week and hope for another loss next week. I don't always comment here but love reading how everyone's doing and find it very supportive so thank you! Smile

Fabulodosus · 23/05/2020 12:17

Well done @Rumandcoke41!!! Fab.

Hi @Inchbyinch!! Welcome! What's the les mill's like? I signed up for peleton free offer which has really helped for running and good for kids wake up/ shake up stuff but other than that I have now found it very centred towards their indoor machines which I don't have (nor do I want... the ability to run in the house 😳🤣). I've also lots to lose and really want 3lb's off in the next 2 weeks! This has been the most focussed I've ever been and this group/ weighing in without having to have a program (I'm terrible at routines!) has been amazing for me!!! Good luck 😃

Fabulodosus · 23/05/2020 12:23

@OwlinaTree I'm similar... no expert but really noticed a difference with mine after changing to eating mainly plant based... I'm still bf which has always wrecked my hair but it's currently in good nick! I also wash it less frequently and with more natural products than I used to use so couple of things I've changed.

MrsSnitchnose · 23/05/2020 12:32

Welcome @Inchbyinch you'll like it here Smile 4 stone seems like a lot when you look at it as a chunk, break it down and set smaller goals (I'm 7 stone down over the last five years)

Well done @Rumandcoke41!

@OwlinaTree May try that. I've had a go of the bedhead because my hairdresser recommended it. Used it for a while but it made my hair very greasy. Switched over to Philip Kingsley now and I love it. Expensive, but worth it for me

Well done @Rumandcoke41!!

I desperately want 4lbs off this Monday when I weigh to get me under 11 stone. It sounds a lot but I gained 3lbs last week so I’m hoping that that was a false gain and then I’ll also lose some from this week. At risk of really losing motivation if I gain again because I’m doing everything by the book.

OwlinaTree · 23/05/2020 13:52

Good loss rum

OwlinaTree · 23/05/2020 20:36

Evening all. Good day for me, had a lie in so didn't get up till about 9. 2 coffees, them big omelette for lunch, fruit. Went for a run late afternoon and just about to have tea, Cajun pork with veg and cream cheese sauce and pasta. Not tried it yet but I'm starving so hopefully it will be nice!

MrsSnitchnose · 23/05/2020 22:03

Hope dinner was nice Owl it sounds good. I had stuffed peppers with Veggie sausages. Rest day exercise wise but was very excited that my new workout clothes arrived this morning so will be christening them tomorrow

Exciting, new workout gear! I treated myself to some new trainers a couple of weeks ago as I was getting some pain around my knee. I realised my old ones were from about 2011 so thought it was about time! It is a nice treat.

OneOfTheGrundys · 24/05/2020 07:32

Great losses!
Hello @Rumandcoke41 I’m new too, 3 stone to go.
I did 10k today... in new running shorts! Never since school (I left in 95) have I worn sports shorts and I felt really self conscious. It made a difference though not being so hot.
Also I just scoffed crumpets and muffins for dinner!
Those menus sound fabulous, especially Cajun pork! Did my own courgetti yesterday and it was actually quite nice.

OwlinaTree · 24/05/2020 07:37

Ooh I love crumpets and muffins!

OneOfTheGrundys · 24/05/2020 07:44

😊 in front of the telly with my 11yo and with lots of butter! Dirty dirty dinner!
That pork sounded lush.

JonHammIsMyJamm · 24/05/2020 09:34

Morning all.

We had fillet steak and chips (potato wedges done in the oven, more like roast potatoes really) last night which my DH massively over seasoned (for my tastes) so I could barely eat anything. So that helped keep me on the right track.

I didn’t run yesterday (it was a rest day) but I did do a 60 min Pilates class. It sounds impressive but it was a beginners one, so not that impressive really. It was a challenge for me though. I’m due to run today (w7d3 of c25k) and I’ll probably do a 20min Pilates class too.

Well done @Rumandcoke41, super loss.

Les Mills looks scary to me, @Inchbyinch Grin.

Inchbyinch · 24/05/2020 10:19

Lots of amazing stuff going on here! The cajun pork does sound great. We had summer in winter chicken from the good food website which is basically just chicken, cherry tomatoes, pesto and creme fraiche, it’s very nice though, I definitely feel less deprived if my food actually tastes like something other than dust! Unfortunately I also had wine on a zoom call with friends but that’s the end of that, it took me over calories and that’s what always happens so it has to go. Calorific resolve sapping fat juice that it is. Saintly tonic water for me from now on with the odd sortie to the exciting land that is sparkling water. Les Mills is indeed scary but massively effective. I got the on demand - 2 weeks free trial if you could trust yourself to cancel payment - but I’ve signed up for 3 months. I’ve done bodypump at the gym before and I’ve bought a barbell for home. It’s really tough the first few times but if you stick with it the results are good. Low weights many many many reps. There’s loads of stuff on there that you don’t need equipment for though - body combat, body attack, body balance, barre, HIIT. I’ve been impressed so far by how clear the instructions are, I think they’re better than any I’ve seen. Apparently though doing it once or twice isn’t enough which is disappointing. Roast pork fillet for dinner today.

OwlinaTree · 24/05/2020 10:50

I used to love body pump and body combat back in my pre children gym days!

The Cajun pork was very nice, 2 more portions in the freezer for another day. We had it with tagitelle which was nice, but getting to the end of the packet now so lots of bits!!

Not much planned today, weather not so good here but looks like it will be lovely tomorrow. I'm not planning to run today, but sounds like it might be a bit hot to run tomorrow... Might have to get up early and go. The horror!

Not sure about food today, I've had an omelette for breakfast and some fruit, not sure what else I'll have. The steak and chips sounded good! And the summer chicken. We are having BBQ tomorrow so need to hold back a bit today to save for that.

lovinglavidaloca · 24/05/2020 11:32

Lots of positivity in here just now! Exactly what we need to keep us on the straight and narrow.

For the first time in 7 weeks I did no exercise yesterday - not even a walk because the weather is so miserable here and I don’t do formal exercise at the weekends. Today will be the same because it’s another rubbish day but I’ll be back on the HIIT tomorrow.

Have a lovely Sunday everyone!

sushinelove · 24/05/2020 11:51

Morning all

A day of starvation for me today - I've done nothing but eat crap since Thursday. So seriously need to get back on track again. Reading the positive stories reminds me where I need to be.

MrsSnitchnose · 24/05/2020 13:04

So much nice sounding food on here! Really going to have to look up the chicken and pesto concoction, think DS would like it too.

Did my workout this morning. I'm halfway through week 4 of my program and I'm sure I can feel things tightening up already Smile The weak muscles I had in my arms from when I lost weight certainly feel stronger

Queenoftheashes · 24/05/2020 15:58

I’m intrigued by les milles on demand actually. @Inchbyinch did you spend a lot on pump equipment? I had a look into it and it seemed really expensive.

I’m having a day off today and made cinnamon rolls which I’m stuffing my face with before vegan burgers and chips. I will get back to my diet duties tomorrow.

OneOfTheGrundys · 24/05/2020 17:26

We have an excellent game supplier near us. We had pheasant breast curry for lunch, kids and DH had with rice and veg and I had it with just veg. It was nice.
Have to run now. The news is making me so angry. I need to run it all out then eat me carbs tonight 😂

Inchbyinch · 24/05/2020 17:43

Getting the bodypump equipment was the tricky bit. I got it from a local shop that sold it for collection only, it was just under £100. The les mills branded stuff is unbelievably expensive. Decathalon do a cheaper set but they were sold out last time I looked, same with Argos.

Queenoftheashes · 24/05/2020 17:45

Yes so expensive! Hmm sounds like it’s a no go for now. I’ll have to carry on with the resistance band which is very space saving.
