Yes, some good steady losses this week. jon staying the same is a bummer, especially when you've been under cals and exercised. I'll bet you'll have an impressive loss next week!
I've got two pounds to go to get me into the stone I want to live in forever. Not sure that will happen this week as have my birthday on Wednesday and am looking forward to cake and Buck's Fizz.
A bit envious of all the running! I used to be in a running club, competing in cross country races, 10ks etc but got a knee injury (runners knee) several years ago which always 'gives' if I even slightly run down hill. So just boxercise and HIT workouts for me...A bit dull and I always cheat a bit.
Technically my day off work (and have told the dcs no school today 😂) but have a webinar at 10 so had better try and do something about my hair 😩
Happy Friday everyone!

I don’t know, @diege. I’m feeling really disheartened. I’ve lost a couple of lbs overall and I’ve been at it (admittedly with varying degrees of commitment) for about 6 weeks. I just feel like I’m getting nowhere. I used to be able to lose weight at the drop of a hat with very little adjustment, much less than I’ve made this time. That wasn’t even that long ago, maybe 2yrs ago? Now I’m really struggling. Maybe it’s my age? Maybe it’s the weird world we’re in at the moment? Maybe I’m just lying to myself about how well I’m doing sticking to the food/portion sizes? I don’t know. I feel rubbish today and like I just want to pack it all in and go back to normal, after all, what’s the point? I’m exactly the same as I was before, nothing has changed. Realistically I know that I’d probably weigh 3-6lbs more if I hadn’t made changes but I just feel like all the enthusiasm has been drained from me.

MarkStrongDirtyTalk · 22/05/2020 09:01

Oh sorry, this is my other username

MarkStrongDirtyTalk · 22/05/2020 09:02

I change regularly but keep my fat club name Hmm

overwork · 22/05/2020 10:10

@MarkStrongDirtyTalk are you @jonhamm too? Far too early for all this confusion. Please don't give up now. I don't know why it's sometimes harder to loose weight than others, but it will feel great when you get there! Maybe try on an old pair of too tight jeans or measure yourself, so you can use that as a measuring tool too. I have to say mine is coming off incredibly slowly, but we're all going in the right direction!

JonHammIsMyJamm · 22/05/2020 11:28

Yes, sorry. I name change often on the main boards but if I get involved in a long term group I obviously keep my name for that for continuity. I just forgot to change back for my post this morning. Apologies for confusion!

lovinglavidaloca · 22/05/2020 11:30

@JonHammIsMyJamm I bet you’re losing inches. Have you been measuring?

JonHammIsMyJamm · 22/05/2020 11:34

No, I’m not measuring, I can’t be doing with the admin, tbh.

diege · 22/05/2020 11:36

MarkStrong I do know where you're coming from. I had a STS weight the second week on this thread and did think what's the point, especially when it had been an exceptional week fitness and food-wise...I swear your weight will 'catch up' next week. My rate of loss has definitely slowed these last few years- And I'm in Peri-menopause which Ive read doesn't help. Seems not to fit with the basic calories in, expenditure out science though 🤷🏻‍♀️ Try not to be too hard on yourself! Thanks

lovinglavidaloca · 22/05/2020 12:26

Haha Jon that made me laugh! I know what you mean about measuring. It’s my least favourite way to track progress because I’m never sure if I’m measuring in exactly the same spot each time. I’m just doing it every few weeks at the moment rather than weekly.

Does anyone make egg muffins? Just made them for the first time for lunch and they were ok but not great. The only suitable veg I had was red pepper so would make sure I had spring onions etc to add in next time and they stuck quite badly to the tin even though I greased with melted butter. Wouldn’t add cheese the next time as have decided I’m not keen on the combo of egg and cheese. So 388 calories for lunch and a fair chunk of it is stuck to the pan Angry

Had a banana for breakfast and were having chilli for dinner.

I have my 20 minute run in C25k today but the weather is crap so not sure when I’ll go out.

MrsSnitchnose · 22/05/2020 12:57

@lovinglavidaloca What about grease proof paper?
Try not to lose heart @JonHammIsMyJamm

I'm struggling in a different way at the moment. I'm on 1200 calories and my hair doesn't like it at all. I know I need to eat more, but everything will grind to a slow crawl if I do Sad I ordered some protein powder last night to try and give me a bit of a boost

OP posts:
lovinglavidaloca · 22/05/2020 13:26

I’ll try that next time Snitch! Thanks

Could you take some supplements for your hair if you’re into that kind of thing?

I’m on 1300 calories and think I might need to reduce to 1200. Some days I’m under anyway but I like having the option of that extra 100 for treats.

Alicatz66 · 22/05/2020 13:26

3 pounds off this week ... thanks to Nutracheck!!! .... I'm bloody hungry though even having 1500 calories

Alicatz66 · 22/05/2020 13:28

@lovinglavidaloca ... my egg muffins stuck too ... couldn't be bothered again ... I just make omelettes !!!

MrsSnitchnose · 22/05/2020 13:33

@lovinglavidaloca I'm already taking biotin, iron &B12, Silica and vitamin D and C.

It's not a new thing, it thins and snaps every time I try and lose weight. I think I'm going to have to try and make peace with only half a pound a week

OP posts:
JonHammIsMyJamm · 22/05/2020 13:37

I prefer omelettes too. I can monitor the fluffiness more closely, I found that the oven egg muffins had a tendency toward rubberiness.

lovinglavidaloca · 22/05/2020 13:42

My omelettes stick too Grin

They say slow and steady wins the race Snitch but I know how crap it feels when you want it off faster.

Every second week seems to be a bloody gain for me! It’s two steps forward and three steps back!

diege · 22/05/2020 14:54

I swear it's that bloody fry-light that makes things stick! 🤣 My poor pans are really suffering!

OneOfTheGrundys · 22/05/2020 15:57

1200 here too. I’m flippin grumpy by this time of day. I have to skulk off somewhere alone as I’m vile. 🤣

diege · 22/05/2020 18:47

I'm on 1200 cals here too though I try and keep around 100 clear of that...possibly to make up for the things I never count as cals...tea, coffee, ketchup,jam...I figure no one ever got fat on a tsp of ketchup and a dash of skimmed milk 🤣
Currently having a vegan burger in a bun topped with mash. I do like my carbs! 😋

OneOfTheGrundys · 22/05/2020 18:58

Yum. Had dinner. Still hungry. Will drink lots of water and go to bed early!

diege · 22/05/2020 19:19

Grundys you've reminded me about water! Must have done today. 2 cans of diet tango and a coffee don't really cut it!
Yes, might be an early night for me too!

OwlinaTree · 22/05/2020 22:42

mrssnitch if your hair is falling out I think you need a re think of your diet! That doesn't sound good.

Had a Chinese here tonight, chicken and peppers in black bean sauce and some noodles and some duck pancakes. So glad it's half term!

MrsSnitchnose · 23/05/2020 00:30

Yeah I know Owl I've been here before. I've been on the mfp forum and I don't think I'm eating enough (Did it once before by accident) Going to up my calories by a couple of hundred and keep on with my workouts and try not to cry when the scale goes up a bit

I'm by no means a nutritional expert but since I upped my fruit intake a few years ago my hair has got a lot thicker and better condition. I also use bed head shampoo and conditioner which seems to help.
