Just batch cooking my breakfast muffins and trying not to eat them all! I've made 16 so going to freeze them in pairs and reheat for quick hot low carb breakfasts. 1 ww point for 2!

Good afternoon all, yesterday's post didn't post. Glad you had a good holiday Egghead68 and congrats on getting into the 12's recklessgran it's a great feeling isn't it?
I had a good loss yesterday then self-sabotaged and just ate and ate, amazingly only 0.2lbs up today. I'm sticking to my plan today so hopefully that will minimise any further gains.

SconNotScone · 23/02/2020 16:45

@recklessgran congrats on getting into the 12s, that’s a great milestone!

@cricketmum84 sorry, I may have missed you already posting it, but would you mind sharing your recipe for breakfast muffins please? I could do with something quick and easy I can grab for work days.

I have been really up and down the last few days. Craving sweet stuff, and giving in to the cravings, then going a bit to excess. This seems to be a bit of a pattern. Every year I lose a stone, then over the next few months I gain it back again. I think because my BMI is just (just!) now in the healthy range, I lose motivation, although ideally I would like to lose another stone to get back to the weight I was pre-DD. But it ends up feeling like a bit of a chore!

Anyway, today has been a good day so far, and I worked hard at the gym this morning. Just trying to decide what to do for dinner this evening. I have some chipolata sausages and I know my husband and daughter would like toad in the hole, feel like that will be a dangerous choice for me though! Maybe just try and do a really sensible portion, and fill the rest of my plate with veg 🤔

cricketmum84 · 23/02/2020 16:59

@SconNotScone of course :)

I made 8 using my Yorkshire puddings tins (about 4 inches per pudding). But you can use a muffin tin if you have one.

Spray with dry light so they don't stick.

Whisk 5 eggs with a little salt, pepper and mixed herbs.
Then stir in 100g fat free cottage cheese, half a diced red onion, 3or 4 diced mushrooms (more of they are button mushrooms) a few handfuls of kale/spinach/leafy green stuff and a couple of slices of ham cubed up (I use quorn ham)

Divide up between the tins and bake for about 20- 30 mins depending on tin depth. Or just until they are firm and a little golden on top.

If you freeze in bags of 2 they take a minute in the microwave on a morning :)

I doubled up the ingredients to make 16 so 8 portions.

Thank you for that @cricketmum84! They look really versatile, I imagine you can do different variations on fillings/toppings, so will give them a go!!

I have been thinking lots about my toad in the hole 😂 and have been doing the maths, the recipe I follow is 850cals for the Yorkshire pudding part (including the oil) and that shares between 3 of us. The chipolatas are 75cals each, so I could have a third of the Yorkshire and 3 chipolatas for less than 550cals. Add a splash of gravy and some veg, and I’m happy with that, especially considering I’ve only had beans on toast and a handful of grapes today!

cricketmum84 · 23/02/2020 17:10

Oh and there are loads of veg combinations you can use - cherry tomatoes, finely chopped broccoli, spring onion, asparagus, grated carrot. The possibilities are endless :)

DownUdderer · 24/02/2020 00:09

The muffins look great! I've bought soup ingredients today. I know I need to plan ahead but sometimes I just can't be bothered! But today I've got a plan and I'll stick with it. I hope I can create a tasty soup, I am planning a veg soup with lentils.

Egghead68 · 24/02/2020 05:57

Still 64kg despite a 3000 calorie-fest yesterday and eating breakfast in the middle of the night. I think my scales might need new batteries. Today’s going to be tough as my body clock is all over the place and I am sleep deprived but have a ridiculous amount of work to get done. Already craving a second breakfast. Damage limitation today I think.

KedsAndTubeSocks · 24/02/2020 08:41

Well, I'm back from staying with the feeder! I ate everything. Blush
I weighed myself this morning and the damage was much less than I'd expected. I'm on 72.8 kg.
Back on it today though, lots of water, herbal tea & salads for me today!

recklessgran · 24/02/2020 09:36

Morning all. Quick check in as very busy - will catch up properly later.
Today is my weigh day.
Last week 13st 0.25lbs.
Today 13st 0.25lbs
Arrrgh - what happened? I was 12st 13.25lbs yesterday?
Oh well, I'm recording a maintain and it's salads all week for me!

Tryingtwo · 24/02/2020 09:47

Good morning all, bavk down by 0.4lbs this morning.
I'm at the dentists today - root canal under an existing crown and a new crown right next to it. 1.5 hour appointment, I am not looking forward to this at all.
I wondet if there is any correlation between weight loss and knackered teeth because last time I lost 4stones plus I needed a lost of dental work, perhaps I am not getting enough vitamin d or calcium or missing some nutrient only found in biscuits and crisps!

Skyejuly · 24/02/2020 09:52

Well done everyone..

I'm down to 9st 8.4 this morning. 1st 2lbs down from January.

Ecci · 24/02/2020 10:07

Still 4.8 lbs down for this month. I've been stuck at 13 st 8 lbs for about 10 days now. Out for lunch tomorrow and then I'm going to be very strict with myself for the rest of the week. Hope it goes down.
@tryingtwo good luck at the dentists, my worst nightmare.

JessJonesJumps · 24/02/2020 10:18

Egghead welcome back from your holiday! You were right, I could get back on top of it yesterday Wink I had homemade pea and onion soup for lunch; antipasto platter for dinner; chocolate toffee for a snack. Then I went to bed with a headache at 7.30pm and that was me until morning!
I'm back up into the 13's today.
February has been a bit of a disaster really. I'm partly blaming being peri-menopausal and seemingly having an almost month-long TOTM. I'm going to look back at my food and exercise diary for Jan and just replicate it.
@JontyDoggle37 hope you're ok.

Onesmallstep67 · 24/02/2020 10:18

Here's to the last push with any loss in February. 15st 4lbs this morning, having been at 15st 6lbs over the weekend. Not sure I can pin my recent cravings/lack of willpower on one particular thing. Not had a period since before Christmas and hot flushes have kicked in big time so I am assuming that there is a correlation.
Thank you to those of you who were so kind and motivating in your comments when I was having a rough time. Back in April '19 I went to the doctor's for a check and my BP was high. During the course of that conversation my weight, 19st + was obviously discussed as a contributing factor. Something just kicked in and once I started watching what I ate and the weight came off I was motivated to keep going. Monthly weigh ins with the nurse and then since September the support and accountability of this thread has kept me going, with one or two ( many ) blips along the way. I have always been overweight and used food as a comfort and reward. So that mindset is where the greatest struggle comes from. But I am far from giving up. I would like to drop another 2 st at least before I am in a range of weight at which I previously felt comfortable. But I am lighter now than I have been in more than 20 years and I do feel happy with my achievement so far.
Let's see if I can get below my February starting weight in the next 6 days ?! Have a good one everyone!

cricketmum84 · 24/02/2020 11:02

Morning all! Sorry for late post - I've had a terrible morning! Very heavy snow here. Set off at 7.20sm to take DH to bus stop and DD to school. Stuck in traffic getting home, after an hour of sitting in traffic to travel 3 miles I get a call to say school is closing due to a gas leak and had to go back for her and rejoin the back of the queue. We got home at 10!

No change on the scales today even though I hardly ate anything yesterday and was starving.

Just about to warm through a couple of my breakfast muffins to keep me going. Not sure what to do for dinner although my veggie order is due this morning once they have managed to get through the snow!

@DownUdderer how did the soup go? I've got a gorgeous spicy super greens soup recipe somewhere if I can find it. Very healthy and jam packed with anti oxidants and vitamins.

@Egghead68 how are you this evening? Be kind to yourself, you're gonna need a few days to get back into normal sleep patterns after such a long flight home!

@KedsAndTubeSocks yes! Glad the damage was minimal :)

@recklessgran ah the perils of daily weighing. Hate it when you are hovering around the stone mark and it can be under or over by the tiniest margin. KOKO you are doing amazing!

@Tryingtwo I hope the dentist wasn't too traumatic :(

@Skyejuly wow well done! That's an amazing loss since jan!

@Ecci ugh plateaus are just the worst! Is it worth mixing up your eating pattern maybe? Bigger breakfast and smaller evening meal? Changing something up can sometimes make a big difference.

Go @JessJonesJumps well done for getting back in the zone so quickly :)

You got this @Onesmallstep67. You have done so well so far.

MotherOfDragonite · 24/02/2020 19:28

Ah @recklessgran that is a bummer. Buuuuut... you know the 12s are in sight now! If not this week (and that sounds like a fluke) then next week!

@cricketmum84 that supper sounds delicious. And so do the muffins. Maybe I should try another veg box. Historically, I've been lazy about veg prep...

Wow, @Skyejuly that's an amazing loss! Well done!

MotherOfDragonite · 24/02/2020 19:31

So, it's been another funny day. Random snacks yesterday at the family celebration turned out to be hard to point. And today DD2 was ill, so we were at home and it was quite hard to eat normally.

B: banana and soy milk shake
L: light curry-type thing from Cook with spinach, tomato and potato, quite nice and very low points but needed a but of mango chutney for oomph and therefore became less low point...
D: pasta with home made tomato sauce (lots of garlic and basil), feta and olives, sugar snap peas
S: cups of tea with Oatly

It's been ok, I guess. I'm still hovering at a similar weight, which will probably give me an 0.5lb loss if I keep it going tomorrow too.

cricketmum84 · 24/02/2020 20:12

It really was gorgeous @MotherOfDragonite. I cleared my plate for the first time in ages. I dry fried the eggs with runny yolks and did some roasted cherry tomatoes too. The fritters weren't the right texture so I must have gone wrong somewhere but the resulting courgette mush was delicious!

DownUdderer · 24/02/2020 22:24

I’m chuffed because my soup tasted lush! Sometimes I can choose healthy veggies but then struggle to get a soup to taste good. But I’m happy my soup tasted good! I’ve good loads of it as well!!

I’ve lost 3lb this month, I’ve list them and regained them a couple of times! I’m down today and I’m hoping to remain down till the end of the month!

That veg box looks amazing.

I went out for a walk last evening even though I didn’t want to! Mind over matter!

recklessgran · 24/02/2020 23:11

Evening everybody, crazy work day for me - only just finished. Small roast beef salad bowl for lunch at desk and more substantial roast chicken salad for dinner this evening followed by sugar free jelly.
There are some lovely updates on here and I love reading about what everybody is up to and what you're all eating. I've decided that I'm a very lazy cook compared to most of you. To that end, it is my birthday soon so I'm going to ask for a Keto recipe book I think to see if that will inspire me to make more of an effort.
A dress I ordered for a 60th birthday party we're going to on Saturday night came today. I think it looks good on me and even DH said "wow" when he saw me in it so I'm happy.
[DH is lovely but not known for his compliments!]

Egghead68 · 25/02/2020 05:28

63.4kg today (down .6kg on yesterday). I’ve given up trying to find any logic in weight loss. Getting over the jet lag and feeling more in control of my eating.

Some lovely sounding recipes and ideas @cricketmum84 and @downudderer. I feel guilty that I am surviving on ready meals at the moment but it’s the only way I can trust myself with portion control.

So pleased about the dress @recklessgran!

Great loss @Skyejuly.

KOKO @Onesmallstep67.

Well done for getting back on track @JessJonesJumps.

Have a good day everyone!

cricketmum84 · 25/02/2020 09:12

Morning all, hope we are all focusing on this final push for February! Scales still haven't moved which isn't great when you consider how hungry I have been! I'm holding out and hoping the carb cravings stop soon.

Plan for today is:
B - breakfast muffins x 2
L - grilled asparagus and broccoli with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of mixed seeds
D - shaksuka

@recklessgran lovely news about the dress!!

@DownUdderer do love a good soup :) especially with the amount of snow we have had this morning!
