Oh god, I’ve eaten SO MUCH today. Out for a really long, lazy, child-free pub lunch with friends today. I ate more in one sitting today than I would normally eat in two days I think 😭 I had houmous and pitta for starter, chicken and leek pie with chips for main, and a huge chocolate brownie with salted caramel ice cream for pudding. Plus two G&Ts and maybe 3 glasses of wine. We sat down at 14:00, and stayed in the pub until about 18:30, and I can still hardly move. I feel quite ill to be honest!! Up early for the gym tomorrow I think!!

MotherOfDragonite · 15/02/2020 22:41

Oof @SconNotScone that sounds like a lot, but nice! Also a treat to have a child-free lunch!

I had the Leggera Funghi de Bosco pizza at Pizza Express and it was really tasty. I love the wholewheat crust! It's actually much more to my taste than the regular one. And shared a coconut sorbet with DD. Stayed within points overall today, didn't drink enough water, walked 6k steps.

ploughingthrough · 16/02/2020 01:44

I've got into a really annoying habit of daily weighing I don't think it's good for me. On Friday night I ate a load of crisps and 2 glasses of wine then was almost a kg up on the scales next day. It completely ruined my happiness that day until DM told me that you can't put on weight in one day and crisps make you retain water really badly. This morning I'm back down plus a bit more so I can see she was right.
A bad morning on the scale puts my nose right out of joint for the day so I really need to start not weighing more than once every few days. Weighed this morning now resolving for Weds to be my next weigh day.

lboogy · 16/02/2020 05:43

@ploughingthrough salty food like crisps and takeaway definitely cause water retention.

I prefer to weight daily. I put on weight if I don't keep tight control of my weight hence being in this thread.

Valentine's Day and yesterday were bad for me. I was up 2kg as a result of Eating non stop.

I've been up all night with a bad tummy . God knows which one of the many foods is the culprit.
I'm up 2.5kg 😔

DownUdderer · 16/02/2020 06:36

Some good updates here, some of us doing well some of us still persevering and hoping for a loss soon!

I've read about a walking challenge that I'm keen to try, it's 70km in the month of March. I think I could reach that target. It would feel pretty good to have a new goal to aim for. My mum likes to walk 1000miles in a year, she says it's 3miles a day, she's retired though so she has more opportunities to get out for a walk! If I can do 16km per week I think that will get me there!

I ate some junk food at a kids party yesterday, it's terrible, I only took the food to seem polite. I didn't enjoy it and tried not to eat it all.

MotherOfDragonite · 16/02/2020 09:04

I totally agree @DownUdderer, water retention makes a huge difference to me but it's very temporary (eg I can have a big loss if I suddenly avoid salt, but it's not a 'real' loss of actual fat and it doesn't stick around if I start eating salt again!)

Being a hypocrite, though, I've been weighing every day and I've been down a little bit every day and I really feel so elated. It also keeps me accountable, so I can't ignore if there's a trend going the wrong way (eg after my cheese fondue fiasco).

I am so fat it's ridiculous. And it's all been down to emotional overeating and using it to fill the emotional gap of my unhappiness. Now I feel like I am digging myself out of all the fat.

cricketmum84 · 16/02/2020 09:51

Happy Sunday everyone! Hope everyone is safe from this horrible rain and flooding.

I've managed to gain another pound. And feeling extremely unmotivated today. Why is this so so hard?? I'm not weighing now until Wednesday.

OMAD again today. I'm making a stew type thing with plant based mince and plenty of veg and serving with a nice green veg medley. I've promised the family an oaty Apple crumble but won't be having any myself.

Good luck avoiding the crumble cricket . I had a baking day yesterday so am trying to resist the gingerbread cake and clafoutis. DH has allergies so it's difficult to buy cakes and bread for him. At first all the cakes I made tasted as though something was missing so it was easy to avoid them but over the years I've refined my recipes so they actually taste like cake now! I haven't weighed yet.

JessJonesJumps · 16/02/2020 12:46

0.4lbs down. I'm lower than Jan but still not back down to the lowest I've been in Feb.

Tryingtwo · 16/02/2020 13:55

Good afternoon all, I'm down 0.4lb today but I only ate half of my dinner because my crown came out whilst I was eating. It's the opposite side to my broken tooth so I now don't have a side to eat. Soups and yogurt today!

lemontreebird · 16/02/2020 14:33

Hello all. I've just found the thread. I've lost 2 lbs today, after putting on a couple round my birthday.

I've also been doing standing abs exercises and my stomach area is definitely feeling a bit tighter.

recklessgran · 16/02/2020 15:01

Afternoon all. We took DGD2 to a lovely children's show at the theatre this morning. She asked for chips from McDonalds afterwards. I had a quarter pounder cheeseburger without the bun and a black tea. No chips or bread were consumed so I view that as a big achievement for me. It is my weigh day tomorrow so that helped to keep me on task as I'm really desperate to get into the 12's. I don't think I'm going to make it but getting there. I don't have a dinner plan for myself yet but it will definitely include lots of veg on account of my rather unhealthy lunch. With hind sight I probably should have had a side salad with it.

NerrSnerr · 16/02/2020 17:48

Hi all. I have been eating too much the last few days (pizza and gin on valentines and then just too much crap yesterday). I'm back on it today though, need a good week which will be tough over half term. Need to keep plodding on though.

MotherOfDragonite · 16/02/2020 22:30

Happy Sunday to you all!

Had a reasonable day today although it did include a hot cross bun again (within my points).

B: bagel with boiled egg and Tabasco sauce
L: vegetable soup
D: roasted butternut squash, cauliflower, courgette, red onions and tomato with a spicy peanut sauce
S: hot cross bun and cup of tea!

Had a reasonable amount of water but did zero exercise at all as it is such miserable weather that we stayed in all day.

JontyDoggle37 · 17/02/2020 07:33

Morning all sorry for being MIA. Major deAdline has consumed everything and I haven’t been been on the scales for about four days and won’t until tomorrow. Just popped in to say hi!

Onesmallstep67 · 17/02/2020 08:05

15st 5lbs this morning after an over indulgent few days. Not sure if it being half term and having my DDs around will help or hinder me. At least I might be able to go for a walk each day with one or both of them. The weather has obviously been atrocious so fingers crossed that calms down for everyone. I need to make some serious effort if I am going to see any loss this month. Confused

Tryingtwo · 17/02/2020 08:21

Good morning all, after eating around 800 cals yesterday and drinking 3 pints of water I am up 1.2lbs!

cricketmum84 · 17/02/2020 08:45

What is going on guys! I'm up another pound too after only having one meal a day all weekend! Minimal wine too! This is so frustrating!!

Loooong ass day ahead but then I have 4 days holiday over half term. Hoping everything runs smoothly at work and I don't get too many calls from my team and I can actually relax properly!

It's veg delivery day today too! Excited as I've ordered lots of salad type bits.

Plan for today is:
B - satsumas
L - quorn ham salad in small wholemeal roll
D - leftover mince stew thing with mashed cauliflower

KOKO my lovelies. I'm sure we will all kick this upwards trend soon!!

Skyejuly · 17/02/2020 09:24

I went down then up then half a pound down. I can't seem to get any lower than 9st 10. It goes between 9.10-9.12...

Anyway my fault as I tend to go up to 1500 over the weekends so I don't go diet crazy.

Skyejuly · 17/02/2020 09:25

I also find when I eat lots now I feel ill. My body is used to my restrictions :( not ideal.

recklessgran · 17/02/2020 10:19

Morning all. Today is my weigh day.
Today 13st 0.25lbs
Last week 13st 2.5lbs
Happy with that but I might struggle with losing 7lbs in February. 3.25lbs to go. Will just be SO happy if I can get into the 12's.
I have been trying on my holiday clothes as we are off the the Canaries in 3 weeks time. Everything looks fine now and I'm not having to breathe in all the time. Now I'm worrying about whether to carry on with Keto on holiday or let myself loose and face the consequences when I get home. Anyone else done this? I'm imagining myself regretting undoing all the hard work. Perhaps I'll just let myself have one portion of carbs a day i.e. chips or bread but not both. Problem with doing that is that it would take me out of ketosis.
Thoughts welcome! OMAD day for me and salad of some sort for dinner tonight. Have a good day all.

JessJonesJumps · 17/02/2020 11:55

reckless when I did keto a few years ago, I mainly stuck to it on holiday. I think I allowed myself one cheat day but tbh because of the heat and having adjusted to low carbs, it was easy to make the same choices when away. The biggest difference I had was that I drunk more alcohol on holiday.
I'm up 0.2lbs this morning. I did eat quite a lot yesterday including half a packet of crisps but I'd been working hard in the garden and was absolutely starving!

Juliette20 · 17/02/2020 12:39

I only lost a pound in January but three pounds so far in February, much better. 13.3 now.

MotherOfDragonite · 17/02/2020 13:08

See, I'm up a pound today but overall I still know I'm down from last week's weigh in so I'm cool with that. I feel like it must be a fluke because I ate well yesterday.

The plan today:

B: boiled egg on half a bagel, Tabasco sauce
L: oat milk flat white and work work work
D: shakshuka and salad
S: ???

SconNotScone · 17/02/2020 16:39

@MotherOfDragonite I think I saw someone do shakshuka on The Best Home Cook on tv the other day, I thought at the time it looked nice, you have reminded me I need to try it!

So after a not great weekend, I am back to it today. Killed myself in the gym yesterday and this morning, and have classes booked on tues, weds and Thurs this week. I won’t be weighing this week, which feels a little strange. But I weigh myself at work on a Friday morning (healthcare type setting), and I am off for half term. I don’t have scales at home, so it’s going to have to be 2 weeks in between weights. Because I’m not weighing this week, it means I’ll have no clue if I’m on track for the 7lb loss this month. Next weigh-in will be the 28th, I need to be down 3lb in order to hit the target, eek.
