About two years ago I lost 3 stone, healthy eating and exercising. I kept it off for 6 months, then life got messy (elderly parents) and almost 2.5 stone has gone back on.
So annoyed with myself, so started being sensible again yesterday, last straw was having to but clothes in big size having got rid of them and nothing fits Sad
Accountability here helps, so starting point 13-6

Well done with the weight loss, I’m sure you’ll make 6lb by Tuesday!

Orange89 · 04/08/2018 08:30

I’ve heard a lot of people loosing weight with slimming world but I jut love my cheese too much so become too much of a sinner!!!

I’m thinking about trying a low carb high fat diet but not sure if these diets are just a bit too faddy, has anyone else had any good results with low carb diets ?

Naughtylittleflea · 04/08/2018 08:39

Hi everyone, I’m hoping to join in. I think I’ve tried most diets over the years but I’ve never joined a group like this!
Same weight as op and goal. I’ve lost a couple of stone last year doing Dukan which was hard and I found I was too tired to excercise on it.
Each time I do a particular diet it works the first time and when I try to recreate it I can’t do it again. It must be the novelty factor!

CocoLoco87 · 04/08/2018 08:42

I'm on low carbs at the moment. I have 2 slices of toast in the morning and that's it for the day. I eat 30g of cheese too in my salad at dinner. I can't give up cheese! I bought a block from Sainsbury's and it's 270g so I made knife marks as though I cut it into 9 and just take off a square a day.

I've also heard good things about SW too!

orange you've done so well! Half a stone!!!

coolcahuna · 04/08/2018 08:49

Hello all ! Please can I join too. Reading all your posts, I am nodding away as my situation is very similar.

I lost 3 stone 4 years ago and got down to 11 stone. 2 stone has gone back on !!!

I started trying to shift the lardage in May and so far it's working I've gone from 13 1/2 to 12 1/2. I want to get back down to 11 or 11.5 stones.

I did a month of low carb which was good but I was sooo hungry. Now switched to Exante which my friend recommended and it's actually quite good. Not a fan of meal replacement normally. With these you replace 2 meals a day with their product = 400 calories. Then have one normal meal and snack to take you to 1000 calories.

The products must be full of protein and vitamins as I'm not hungry and my skin looks better too

CocoLoco87 · 07/08/2018 07:28

Sadly I didn't make 6lbs by today and am stuck on 5! Never mind, it's still a 2lb loss this week. Mr Loco has been really supportive of my efforts and says you can tell I've lost a bit already.

I'm still eating exactly the same thing every day and haven't eaten biscuits, cake, pasta, rice or potatoes for 2 weeks now. I've not really missed any of it either. Sometimes in the evening I fancy a bit of chocolate but I will reward myself with a piece when I've lost a stone Grin

Start weight: 13st 7lbs
Current weight: 13st 2lbs
Loss:5lbs

Anyone else for a Tuesday weigh-in?

Naughtylittleflea · 07/08/2018 07:52

It’s a good weight loss 2 weeks running! Marvellous. I’ve forgotten to weight in this am and already had 3 cups of tea-tomorrow.

aurorie11 · 07/08/2018 08:28

Hmmm. don't know what's going on.
I usually weigh in on a Monday, had a sneaky check Saturday morning and I was 2lbs down to 13 stone. Had a family BBQ on Saturday and had a burger, hot dog, 3 glasses of prosecco across lunch and dinner. On Monday I was up 3lbs from Saturday.
Doesn't make sense as been eating sensibly apart from Saturday and significantly increased activity.
Trying to be positive

It's hard isn't it @aurorie11. I put on a pound over the weekend without changing a thing. Only a pound but it was so disheartening!! Managed to get it off for this morning.

We just have to keep going!! Hopefully we'll be under 13 next week.

And welcome to everyone who's joined in the last 2 weeks and good luck!

Orange89 · 07/08/2018 12:55

Everyone’s doing really well. I think this is a good group to really keep us motivated and give us all that support every girl needs when trying to shift these stubborn cheese and prosecco pounds!!

I had quite a bad weekend with two meals out and a VERY greasy takeaway Sunday which I really could have done without , I was up back up to 12.7lb yesterday but had a really healthy day and am now back to 12.4lb today which I was pleasantly shocked at! It’s worth remembering that a lot of weight gain, especially after a piggy weekend , can be down to bloat and water retention and I also think that sometimes weight loss can take a few days to catch up, plus our hormones can also have an effect on our weight but the most important thing is you’re all still here whether you’ve gained lost or maintained , it’s about picking yourself up and carrying on.

I’m used to throwing in the towel if I see the scales are not going my way so again I think this group is just what we all need to support and motivate each other.

Welcome all newbies and hope it’s going well Smile

Orange89 · 07/08/2018 13:00

Oo and I’m also at the gym now for the first time in almost 3 years. It’s killing me but feels good coming to the end of my work out Grin

Howlongtillbedtime · 07/08/2018 13:09

Can I join in too ?
I have been eating and drinking far too much and I stepped on the scale this morning and could have cried!!
14:1 which is grim.

Snacking is my downfall. what are you all doing about between meals ?

I am going to do a meal plan for the rest of the week and I am off work for the summer so I have no excuses to not fit in the exercise.

Help!!!

CocoLoco87 · 07/08/2018 14:36

Welcome everyone! So glad more people are joining in! The more the merrier, and the more hands there are to hold through this!

@Howlongtillbedtime 14.1 isn't grim, it's merely your starting point! You can do it!!

Tbh I'm not snacking between meals. I have 4 strategically placed coffees throughout the day and that's my 'snack.' Occasionally it's 3 coffees and a latte Blush but a girl's gotta live a little!

CocoLoco87 · 11/08/2018 07:25

Good morning weight-loss warriors!! If you'd like to do a weekend weigh-in then hop on the scales and let us know how you're getting on. We're all in this together!

If you've fallen off the wagon and need some words of encouragement then this is the place to be Smile today is a new day and it's never too late to start over again.

I find weekends hard because I'm used to a lazy glass of wine over lunch and afternoon cake and big pasta meals but I've done well so far to stick to my meal plan! It's got to the point where I'm jealous of my son's baked beans Grin I don't even like baked beans Confused

Anyway, this is me
Starting weight: 13.7
Current weight: 13.0
Total loss: 7lbs

My usual weighing day is a Tuesday and I would love love love it if i can see a 12 at the start by then!

Good luck ladies x

CocoLoco87 · 11/08/2018 07:26

Sorry for the rambling post!

StealthPolarBear · 11/08/2018 07:29

I'm in. Lost about 5 stone a few years ago and about 2.5 has gone back on :( I'm really really struggling with motivation at the moment.
I keep telling myself that I'll find the motivation at some point so will it be now or a year down the line and two stone heavier?

StealthPolarBear · 11/08/2018 07:29

Currently 13s3

Howlongtillbedtime · 11/08/2018 07:54

Morning
weighed in this morning and
start weight 14.1
Currently weight 13.11
Not bad for a few days.
Going to eat more veg meals this week and keep going to the gym and moving my fat arse.

CocoLoco87 · 11/08/2018 08:58

Well done @Howlongtillbedtime always nice when the scales start with a smaller number!

StealthPolarBear you can do it! Definitely will be easier to tackle it now Smile I want to wear a bikini next year on holiday - that's my main motivation!

CocoLoco87 · 14/08/2018 07:50

Just done my Tuesday weigh-in 12st 12lbs!!!!! Finally a 12 at the front! Ahh so relieved. I 'ate out' on Saturday with DH and DC and they were having burgers and chips etc and I had a latte. It was bloody miserable! And yesterday I took DC out to eat pizza and I had an apple juice while they ate. I felt soooooo low Sad and wondered if it was really worth it. But this morning I can say that it is worth it and I just HAVE to keep sticking to my diet / gym routine.

Starting weight: 13st 7lbs
Current weight: 12st 12lbs
Total loss: 9lbs
Time taken: 3 weeks
Target weight: 10st 7lbs

How is everyone else doing?

Orange89 · 14/08/2018 09:50

Wow you’ve done so well cocoloco that does take some willpower !! I’ve had a terrible weekend surrounded by people eating a lot and I’ve just sacked the diet off, all fun until you seen the see the scales don’t let you off and I’ve shot back up to 12.7 Blush Sad. Very annoyed with myself as I could have possibly been in the next brackets by now.

Anyway onwards and upwards ...

Start weight: 12.12lb
Current weight: 12.7lb
Target: 10.4lb
Height: 5.4
Time taken: 3 weeks

CocoLoco87 · 14/08/2018 10:25

Orange89 weekends are the worst aren't they! Keep it up, you can get back on the wagon!! X

CocoLoco87 · 21/08/2018 07:28

Morning ladies! Having managed to get down to 12.11 last week, I'm now back at 12.12. I had a massive cheat day on Saturday, out with DH. Involving lunch out, lots of champers and a takeaway in the evening. Also only managed 2 gym sessions instead of 3. I feel like this means I can't have any cheat days Sad

Sometimes it's really frustrating being so restricted and when I'm out with DH and DC and they're eating and I'm not, I could cry. But I really really want to lose this weight. Enough really is enough so I will continue with the diet!!

Let me know how you're all getting on!

Orange89 · 21/08/2018 12:00

Morning!!

Weekly weigh in 12.1lb

It is frustrating isn’t it cocoloco, I also saw 11.13 over the weekend but had a cheat day Sunday but at least we’re going in the right direction!! Of course it would be brilliant to lose the weight quicker but I think it’s also important not to be completely miserable so the odd cheat day and a slightly slower weight loss gets my vote. Also you’re more likely to throw in the towel completely if it’s too restrictive.

Keep going you’re doing so well, we’ve only got a few pounds to lose before we can say we’ve lost a stone and if we can do that in 6 weeks I think that’s pretty good of us! Grin

Orange89 · 28/08/2018 08:04

Put on a pound Sad (I’m blaming the bank holiday for that!)

Anyone else still going ?
