itsallgravybaby · 23/07/2018 09:53

Right.

I have a year to go until my wedding and a dress that's about 6 inches too small!

I am finally stopping the lose/gain cycle and cracking on for good - anyone want to join?

I have quite a bit to lose:

Heaviest weight 19st 13.5 BlushSad

Current weight after losing and gaining on slimming world: 17st 4 (242lbs)

Goal weight: 12st
Height 5'8", dress size 18

I'm following a mostly low carb diet of 1500 cals a day, and aiming to go to the gym 3x a week for one cardio and two strength sessions.

I want to use this post to share motivation and it makes me accountable to myself 💪🏻
If you feel brave enough please tell me about yourself!

Morning all

Weigh day for me too. 2 pounds off which is pretty pleasing with 2 nights out drinking and eating.

That takes me to half a stone over 3 weeks. If every 3 weeks could do that I'd be more than happy

Out for dinner again tonight, client lunch Monday and probably some other stuff I've forgotten about but I think I'll be okay if I can keep the drinks low.

Off to the opticians now to tell them the 5th pair of contact lenses we're trying don't enable me to read my phone screen either. Sigh.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Carolwithane · 04/08/2018 11:07

Excellent @flightright that's a fab result!

Good luck tomorrow @itsallgravybaby

itsallgravybaby · 05/08/2018 12:32

Weigh in time!

240lbs so that's a loss of 2lbs :) happy with that.
I also have those fancy body analysis scales and it's showing that my muscle mass has gone up and fat down - the gym must be paying off! I'm seeing my body shape start to change (maybe I'm being ambitious as it's only been 2.5 weeks since I started a proper weights programme not just winging it Blush) but it's keeping me motivated.

Happy Sunday everyone, let's see what next week brings 💪🏻

I'm having a bulletproof coffee (coffee, oil and cream blended) and then maybe tuna salad later since it's still so hot outside! And maybe a gym trip while I'm feeling good 😂

Also @flyright that's amazing! Half a stone in 3 weeks would do nicely Grin well done!

Carolwithane · 05/08/2018 20:18

Well done @itsallgravybaby thats fab

I had over 2000cals in alcohol yesterday!ShockBlush

Plus 3 meals! Only saving grace is that I didn't buy a takeaway on the way home or toast a full loaf of bread when I got in

Not hungover today but been absolutely starving since about 2pm - damn

AuntieMay · 05/08/2018 20:24

Ok so I'm back off holiday this afternoon, will weigh in in the morning to get a final start weight 😳
It won't be pretty but I'm determined - I really struggled in the heat which I never normally do am sure it's because I'm at least 4 stone overweight! Felt a hot sweaty mess and because we have a holiday home in Spain we go several times a year but this year was the worst for me in the heat... so it's got to be done
So.... weigh in tomorrow am, outdoor boot camp at o6:15, omelette for breakfast, full day at work and a dog walk in the evenings bought a prepared salad for lunch so I didn't go to the local shop on my lunch break and dinner will be beef casserole without the mash for me.

AuntieMay · 05/08/2018 20:25

I daren't work out my calories today as it was burger king at Spain airport for breakfast and macdonalds for lunch on way home 😳😳😳

itsallgravybaby · 05/08/2018 22:44

Wow @Carolwithane it adds up so quickly doesn't it?! But at least you didn't add an extra 2k by getting a giant takeaway! :)

Welcome back to reality @AuntieMay hope you had a nice break, ready to start fresh tomorrow regardless of what the scales say

I do love a good McDonald’s- it's not quite the same with no fries or bun 😂

OP posts:
AuntieMay · 06/08/2018 07:41

So official start weight is 13st!
No surprises there think I stayed pretty much the same over my holiday so pleased with that but will have to see if the double fast foods yesterday go on in a day or two!

flyright · 06/08/2018 07:47

Morning,

Pound up after the weekend. Think I matched Carolwithane on the alcohol front.

Lunch out today but for work so no drinks and I hope I can find low carb options. Then a strict few days.

I'm impatient to do better but I know I need to play the long game and it will take time. Just need to keep notching down every week

We can do it!

Carolwithane · 10/08/2018 08:33

Weigh in morning......... another 1.5lbs gone. Happy with that, I mean obviously I'd like to lose 3 stone in a fortnight but you know let's be realistic!!

Continuing with 2 fast days per week, tracking on MFP and aiming for 7000 steps per day

Hope we're all well Smile

flyright · 10/08/2018 11:05

Excellent work Carolwithane. For sure it's the slow and steady approach that will win the day.

I'm 2 pounds down. Weigh day is normally tomorrow but I'm away for the weekend so needed to do it while the going was good - got to try hard not to let weekends put back on what's lost in the week

I'm low carbing. Not going mad on the fat but am having some cheese and bacon etc so if I was calorie counting would probably be a bit up. But it seems to be working - 9 pounds in 4 weeks - although of course it's always easier at the beginning - and when you're properly fat. Blush

How's everyone else doing?

merrykate · 12/08/2018 07:11

Please can I join? 😀

Current: 15st 10lbs size 18 (5ft 7in)
Goal: 11st size 12

I am utterly miserable being so overweight. I avoid socialising. Hate shopping. Feel self-conscious constantly. Feel unfit and have had depression.

I did a week of keto and enjoyed it, lost 9lbs, then had a week off when I went on holiday. Back on keto day 3 and riding through the sugar withdrawals (thank goodness it's the school holidays so that I can nap during the day!).

In a year's time I would like to feel happier and confident, and to be able to wear a swimsuit on holiday! Not much to ask surely!

Good luck, everybody!

itsallgravybaby · 12/08/2018 22:29

Well done @Carolwithane and @flyright - great losses!

I weighed in and am 3lb up genuinely had a good week this week so it threw me a little bit and I ended up drowning my sorrows in crisps :(

Might try a fortnightly weigh in instead- it must have been hormonal or water!

On the positive side I have been enjoying the gym and got new personal bests last week of squatting 60kg and deadlifting 65kg - I just wish the weight loss was a bit faster!

Hope you've all had a fab weekend and welcome @merrykate ! Those first days/week is the hardest you'll be through it in no time 💪🏻💪🏻 well done!

AuntieMay · 13/08/2018 08:37

Hi all,
My first weigh in and I've lost 7lbs!!!
I'm thrilled with that- even though I know it's mainly water.
I was very strict with myself Monday to Friday and less so over the weekend so back on it with a vengeance today.

itsallgravybaby · 13/08/2018 09:13

@AuntieMay that's incredible WELL DONE!!

Your strict M-F has paid off!! Bet you're delighted :)

OP posts:
AuntieMay · 13/08/2018 10:04

I'm really pleased, but need to carry it on for weeks/months which is the difficult bit and what worries me most - I need be consistent ( something I'm rubbish at normally) anyway we are accou table.on here so hoping it helps as don't want to post that I've failed or given up as per usual.
I WILL BE SLIM SOON

flyright · 13/08/2018 11:07

I think whilst consistency is great to aim for the reality is there are always ups and downs and the real trick is not to get disheartened when things don't go well and to hang in there.

Overall the trend will be downwards but I don't think many people achieve that without a few ups along the way

I'm talking to myself here as I'm up a pound after a weekend away. But I feel in the zone food wise so will keep on keeping on and I know it will pay off longer term

Imagine what we could be like at Christmas with an average loss of a pound a week - 19 pounds down. If it could be one and a half pounds that's 2 stone. Makes a difference to anyone.

That's my target. 2 stone by Christmas.

AuntieMay · 13/08/2018 11:27

Yes that would be amazing!
I know I've got to go to dh work do which is a posh hotel overnighter - would love to be 2stvdown by then

RubySlippers77 · 13/08/2018 15:10

Hi, please could I join too?

33lb to lose here (set myself a 40lb at 40 challenge!) - planned to start at the beginning of the year but had an awful virus for almost 3 months. I've lost half a stone or so, which admittedly is better than gaining weight, but still nowhere near what I want to be at or a decent BMI!

Having to take it really easy as overdoing it brings on a flare up of my post virus symptoms; just back from a week's holiday and am having to spend this afternoon on the sofa. I was very active pre-DC and am finding this tricky Sad

I joined WW earlier this year and although my leader is lovely, I'm not finding the diet very inspiring. DP needs to lose weight too (8 stone or so) and I'm still looking for something we can both properly stick to. Hoping my enthusiasm will return when I feel less rubbish.....!

Belindabelle · 14/08/2018 16:26

Hello I have been away for a while. All healthy eating out the window but back on it from today. I have ordered new scales so will wait and weigh my self on them but it won't be pretty.

Its 3 weeks since this thread started so I now have 42 weeks till I am 50. I find it scary how quickly the time seems to go. I could have been a good half stone down by now.

I know I have said this many times before but I really do have to get serious. Strict low carb for a few days to get into ketosis and hopefully drop some bloat then onto Exante. Those packs are taunting me every time I go into the cupboard. I just need to bloody start!

merrykate · 15/08/2018 08:28

Thank you for the welcome!

I've stuck to 5 days of keto so far but I'm not going to weigh myself for a while, until I know for definite I have lost something! I find weighing myself and feeling disappointed is a trigger for binging. I am also finding that I cannot deviate from the keto way of eating otherwise I fall off the wagon in magnificent style! It's all or nothing for me unfortunately.

Hope everyone is having a positive week. 👊

itsallgravybaby · 15/08/2018 16:21

You're absolutely right @flyright it's never going to be a straight downward line and that's probably what's made me fall off so many times! Same as @merrykate it's a trigger for me, so I've had my housemate hide them in his room so I can't weigh myself several times a day and after every bathroom trip.

I've had a good few days - IF, keto and gym 💪🏻 I've also taken measurements and I'm getting slowly smaller 😂

Sorry to hear about your virus symptoms @RubySlippers77 - half a stone is a rest achievement and you've shown yourself that you can do it! Have you tried calorie counting? Using MyFitnessPal or similar, or low carb?

@Belindabelle just think you could be 42lb lighter by your birthday, wouldn't that be amazing even at 1lb a week? You have got this 💪🏻

itsallgravybaby · 16/08/2018 16:39

I really fancy a burger tonight for some reason! So I'm going to make a bun less beef burger with smoked cheese, bacon, garlic mayo and salad. Feels like a treat but still within my macros :)

I thought about a gym class but tbh I fancy a long stint on the PS4 and an early night instead!

OP posts:
flyright · 16/08/2018 17:25

I had burger for lunch. I'm on holiday and options were limited so I had the burger, no fries and left the bun. Burger cheese and bacon was my lunch. I'm low carbing. It was nice but feel hungry now so have to hold back from eating too many nuts which is the only snack I have here.

But still determined to keep on track. With just the odd glass/bottle of wine. Some things just can't be done without Grin
