itsallgravybaby · 23/07/2018 09:53

Right.

I have a year to go until my wedding and a dress that's about 6 inches too small!

I am finally stopping the lose/gain cycle and cracking on for good - anyone want to join?

I have quite a bit to lose:

Heaviest weight 19st 13.5 BlushSad

Current weight after losing and gaining on slimming world: 17st 4 (242lbs)

Goal weight: 12st
Height 5'8", dress size 18

I'm following a mostly low carb diet of 1500 cals a day, and aiming to go to the gym 3x a week for one cardio and two strength sessions.

I want to use this post to share motivation and it makes me accountable to myself 💪🏻
If you feel brave enough please tell me about yourself!

Well done to those of you managing to excercise in the heat, not been too warm here but I’ve just no motivation to move for some reason but my gym/excercise gear is out and ready should I decide to stop being lazy. Had a good food day today until I made dinner and decided to eat 2 bowls of meatballs and spaghetti kicking myself now 😳Hmm so taken off my treat for later and sitting about 1250 calories ish and will try again tomorrow.

Trying not to have a cheat day as I would blow the no chocolate/sweets takeaway rule I’ve set myself for now until I’m used to not having them, I’d just binge and it’d be more ruination than cheat Blush.
Hope everyone is having a nice Friday evening, just waiting for a big downpour here so muggy

Nemophilist · 27/07/2018 18:18

Is it too late for me to join???

My heaviest (when not pregnant...Not pregnant now but that was my absolute heaviest) - 18st 9lbs.

Weight now 16st 10lbs. After one year of slimming world. I did get down to 15st 11.5lbs but I've been stress eating for a month and this is what has happenedConfused

I'm 5ft 7in.

Goal weight- 9st 10 lbs I really want to be in single figures as I haven't weighed that since I was 9.

I want my life back. I feel like I've lost my identity.

Giving myself the proverbial kick up the backside. Still going to stick with SW as I know the result are amazing I lost my weight in 3 months and plateau through sheer laziness.

MooPointCowsOpinion · 31/07/2018 08:58

Hi Nemo Smile
How is everyone doing? I have had 5 days on 1600 calories per day, loads of fruit and veg, lots of exercise too, and lost nearly 4lbs. I don’t feel too hungry either, except yesterday after nearly two hours of cardio I was a little famished....!

flyright · 31/07/2018 09:26

well done you - 2 hours of cardio! - I don't do 10 minutes these days. Exercise will come into the mix at some point but for now work's too busy and I'm focussed on losing some weight first.

I'm in my 3rd week of low carb - lost 5 pounds week 1, faffed about in week 2 gaining and losing and now seem to be creeping down again.

I'm still working out what I can eat - and I know the alcohol really doesnt help but life is short. As long as I'm going down I can put up with it being a bit slower than it might be.

Got a doctor's appt next week for high blood pressure and she's going to talk about wieght but I'm strangely looking forward ot it - I feel like I need a bit of fear - and monitoring from the GP would help me keep on track.

Anyone else got ideas for how to keep focussed? - I find thats the real challenge - keeping your head in the right place, thinking about it all the bloddy time - if I do that I'm okay. If I take my eye off the ball I'm done for.

antsinthejam · 31/07/2018 10:22

I'd like to join you all too if possible? I started at 16st 10lbs on 01.03.18, I'm five months in now and weigh 12st 2lbs. My initial goal was to lose 100lbs, so I've 36lbs left to lose. I'd like to lost as much of that as possible before mid October, really.

I like the idea of a year of accountability because my problem is going to be maintaining the weight when it's gone!

flyright · 31/07/2018 10:41

Wow. Amazing loss. That's what, nearly 3 pounds every single week on average ?

How did you do it?

PrivateDoor · 31/07/2018 11:05

Hi everyone I would like to join too please! I joined ww a month ago and have lost 17lbs so far. Would like to lose another 70lbs ideally so have a long way to go! Like others, I have broken it down into smaller targets, to make it seem more achievable! Hopefully will reach goal around this time next year :-)

Carolwithane · 31/07/2018 11:29

I'm doing okay! Didn't go too mad food wise over the weekend and no alcohol. Not much exercise done tho apart from walki g in Saturday whilst out shopping

Managed a good fast day yesterday and over 10000 steps as out and about with the buggy. Fasting again tomorrow

Hope everyone is doing well! Smile

antsinthejam · 31/07/2018 11:48

@flyright I've been going to slimming world but following their plan loosely tbh. I don't think there is enough of an emphasis on portion control or exercise (at least not in my class) so I've been calorie counting to check the consumption isn't too high, and reducing portions.

I've also been exercising, but it's getting harder. When I started I could do 10000 steps in a day and burn 3000 calories doing it. Now, if I do 10000 steps I only burn about 2100. I did 24000 steps one day last week and still didn't quite burn 3000 cal. I'm at the point where I've joined the gym and I'm going to have to get back to running to up the calorie burn.

I can recommend a Fitbit charge if you're at all interested in how many calories you're burning. It definitely seems accurate in my case.

flyright · 31/07/2018 13:21

Thanks for that. Ive lost weight before calorie counting with MFP but this time I just couldn't make progress that way.

Low carb gave me a result quickly enough to fuel my motivation

But more exercise will be needed and a Fitbit may well be the way forward there. I like keeping an eye on stats and tracking progress etc.

Good luck keeping on !

antsinthejam · 31/07/2018 13:27

I'm the same in needing the loss to be quick enough to motivate me. Facing 100lb at weight loss at 1/2 or 1lb a week would have been so tough, I'm not sure I would have started or been able to keep going. Hats off to those who do it the slow and steady way.

dresswoes · 31/07/2018 14:42

Wow @antsinthejam that's amazing! Well done you! I've just dusted off my Fitbit as it became an expensive ornament GrinI have the blaze so I can change music etc from it and see messages which is nice

I'm currently at the gym and have fasted so far today, planning just a meat and veg in olive oil tea, keeping it simple!

What's everyone else having for tea?

Kaykay06 · 31/07/2018 21:15

I had beans on nimble toast and poached egg. Then I’ve eaten so much sridf I should’ve have as I was hungry first time in ages I’ve felt like that and just eaten over my 1500 calories and I feel crap about it Confused

Still struggling/feel too tired to exercise.....just can’t do it and I don’t know why. Also peeing tonnes 😭
Just a crappy day, hope everyone else has done better x

dresswoes · 01/08/2018 00:14

Aw sorry to hear about your shitty day @Kaykay06 Thanks
Tomorrow is a new day, hopefully the peeing is water retention going or something?! More water is always good :)

itsallgravybaby · 01/08/2018 00:19

Name change fail 😳 (although it's only to hide my wedding dress from family on here so not the end of the world, oops!!)

itsallgravybaby · 01/08/2018 09:58

I'm back in my IF today, 12.30 will be 16 hours since my last meal - feeling good :)

Tea will be full fat Greek yoghurt with nut and coconut granola and peanut butter, just cos I really fancy it tonight! Hoping it will fill me up!

OP posts:
antsinthejam · 01/08/2018 19:46

3lb off today taking me to 11.13

@itsallgravybaby the Fitbit has really helped to nail exactly how many calories I'm burning, the battery is slowly dying in this one and I've cracked the screen but I'll definitely be buying another one. Even dh has one now.

Dinner was an omelette and lunch was brown bread thins with Philadelphia, red onion, tomatoes and peppers. Lots of veg. I've also eaten a packet of cherry tomatoes, a whole head of celery and a rice cake. It's been a picky sort of day.

Carolwithane · 01/08/2018 20:07

Struggled a wee bit with my fast day today but just had my dinner and probably coming in about 700 cals!

No more fasting until MondayJust mindful eating, tracking on MFP and hopefully will keep my steps up. DP is away to Portugal for the weekend so it's just me and the baby. Must resist snack temptation..........

itsallgravybaby · 01/08/2018 20:43

Well done @antsinthejam! Great loss!

@Carolwithane stick with it, hopefully it will get easier! Ooo Portugal, not jealous at all! Wink are you having a "normal" non-fast day tomorrow? You might be on track for another 4lb this week :D

OP posts:
Carolwithane · 01/08/2018 21:17

Yeap no more fasting until Monday Smile

He's off golfing! I'm totally fine with it - not jealous at all.......... lol! Of course I'm actually green with envy IRL however I'm off to Budapest at the end of of Sept with 6 friends. Another reason to stick with the diet

MooPointCowsOpinion · 02/08/2018 09:27

One week in, 3.6lbs lost. Woo!
I’m going away tomorrow for a long weekend, hope it stays off. This time next week I want to be able to say 2 more pounds off...

Carolwithane · 02/08/2018 10:55

Congratulations ants and moo! And everyone else who has lost so far

My weigh in is Friday morning Halo til then Grin

itsallgravybaby · 02/08/2018 19:18

Well done @MooPointCowsOpinion! Awesome loss!

My weigh in is Sunday (for some reason if I weigh earlier I always relax too much over the weekend!)

Was going to go to the gym but had a poor nights sleep so think I'll have an early night instead! 😴

OP posts:
Carolwithane · 03/08/2018 08:39

Good morning. This is my weigh day and a wee 1.5lbs off - happy with that as 5.5 in two weeks

Have a good weekend all - no more fasting until Monday for me! I'm out for dinner and drinks on Saturday will try not to go too wild (calorie wise) we'll see!

itsallgravybaby · 03/08/2018 14:11

Woohoo awesome @Carolwithane ! What a lovely way to start the weekend

Have a fab weekend too Grin
