1 stone to lose

Curiousquestioning · 21/07/2018 21:57

Hello everyone,

Does anyone have 1 stone to lose? Would you like to help motivate one another? I'm not in to obsessiveness but for my health, I feel I should lose the belly.

I'm thinking of doing this the old-fashioned way by trying three things:

  1. Cutting down on drinking alcohol at home. Drinking a glass or two of wine at home has become part of my daily life.
  2. Three meals a day only. I snack so much and don't even realise how much I'm eating.
  3. Exercising daily. I'd love to think I exercise daily but in reality, I don't.

Are you in? This could work if we help to motivate one another. I know 1 stone doesn't seem like much to lose but I've been getting good at putting it on rather than burning it off!

I could have written this post word for word. Yes I'm with you. I'll just finish my g + t and then i'm fully onboard. Like you I don't have a massive amount of weight to lose but I'm quite short and the 10+ lb that I've gained in the last year are garlanded around my waist for all to see . Tomorrow I'm going to enjoy my 3 slightly smaller meals and no snacking. Shock

tinydancer88 · 21/07/2018 22:08

Oh god me too. Been meaning to do it for nearly two years and need to make similar changes to you!

bluesky45 · 21/07/2018 22:14

I'm in. 1 stone to get to pre-pregnancy weight. Just been on holiday and didn't feel good about myself. Would like it to take no more than 2 months which gives me a year from ds being born to being back at my Pre-pregnancy weight. I've half arsed it before a few times and have found it much harder than I thought but really want to do it this time! No/less snacking and more exercise is my plan too (already don't drink). Hoping this might make me a bit more accountable and therefore more likely to stick to it?! Fingers crossed anyway!

TheLittleFoxes · 21/07/2018 22:15

Yes! I'm in. Just back from hols and too many croissants/baguettes. I need to lose a stone but also exercise to tone up my middle age wobble.

Idbemonica1 · 21/07/2018 22:51

Hooray, passed my first test - dh just offered me some cashews and I resisted. That's got to be a lb lost right?Grin

Curiousquestioning · 21/07/2018 22:59

Yay! Let's do it!

Accountability all the way...

Let's try for daily updates (or as often as we can manage) to just confirm we've stuck to it!

I think a stone will fly off us with a bit of discipline (& hauling of one's ass off the sofa!).

Resisting cashews = immediate weight loss! Well done! Smile

I would like to join please.

I'm 4ft 10 10st have fibromyalgia and just feel absolutley awful. Something needs to give.

Problem is fibro makes me exhausted so trying to up my exercise is going to be hard but I want to make better food choices and I think cutting down on carbs is what I am going to aim to start with.

Have a step counter but i'm not going to aim for 10k steps a day just yet but see what I do tomorrow and aim to beat that the next and so forth.

ocelot41 · 22/07/2018 02:01

I am in! Just finished a major, long term project at work and the combo of sitting on my arse for long hours plus stress eating has really pushed my weight up. I don't even want to go on the scales...

Curiousquestioning · 22/07/2018 12:06

Great! So far today, I've had a big breakfast. So, I won't eat again until lunch & then dinner. NO snacking Smile whatsoever. I really think that's the key.

I'm off to a yoga class now! Yeee-ow! Let's shift this stone! It's weighing me down on my body & mind!

I am in. Just polishing off all the chocolates I was given at the end of the year (I work in a school!). Alcohol I’m happy to stop thoughGrin

Idbemonica1 · 22/07/2018 13:08

How's everyone doing today? Woke up this morning feeling unwell so food today has just been tea and toastSad. On the plus side the no snacking has gone brilliantlySmile

Ethiopianflower · 22/07/2018 18:03

I would love to join you too. I have just over a stone to lose. Aiming to do it through running and MFP. Ran 8km today and yesterday which nearly killed me but I am more determined than I have ever been on this regime!!!!

Ch0c0h0lic · 22/07/2018 18:26

Count me in too please. I've lost about 2.5 stone over the last year and a half but it's slowly creeping back up (lots of excuses stress with house sale/purchase falling through, shingles and ttc). Bridesmaid in 6 weeks and aiming to shift half by then Smile

Curiousquestioning · 22/07/2018 19:23

I've now had my three marks for the day! It's going to be hard not to snack but it'll be worth it when the weight falls off. I'm done with calorie counting.

I did a short yoga class today & a walk. Tomorrow: zumba!

Getting rid of that extra stone is going to feel better. I have a football of fat on my tummy; can't be healthy! Grin

I need to lose 1.5 stones which I’ve gained in last year- just back off holiday and felt so uncomfortable it really overshadowed what was a lovely week. I’ve got a big night out planned for my bday end of Aug and frankly if I’ve not lost weight I don’t want to go 😢
Too much wine, cheese, bread I need to go back to basics and increase my exercise too.
Hopefully you will all inspire me to actually get off my increasingly large arse and do something about my weight

tinydancer88 · 22/07/2018 21:07

Been good today! Went for a run this morning and DIDN'T get pick and mix at the cinema Halo

MuddyElephant · 22/07/2018 21:39

@tinydancer great will power 👍

@wishfulmakeupping you can def see some changes by your night out in August 😁

Curiousquestioning · 22/07/2018 23:07

Yeah we are all in the same boat. My day took a U-turn today & ended up drinking wine & eating nachos with DH...howeverWink, I told him about my new regime & did a massive healthy food shop so I do feel confident the strictly 3 meals a day will start tomorrow...I feel bad that I fell at the first hurdle when this was my idea but I thought it best to be honest.

3 good meals tomorrow & a Zumba class. SmileFlowers

Amazing you didn't get pick 'n mix at cinema! Bet you felt great afterwards?

OP posts:
HRTpatch · 22/07/2018 23:13

I'm in. Grin
I have put on a stone and a half in 2 years and it needs to go. Sheer laziness and too much wine and cheese. Different HRTs havent helped either.

Curiousquestioning · 22/07/2018 23:17

Yeah wine & cheese (& biscuits, cake, bread & chocolate) are my biggest weaknesses too ... Grin

I really think cutting down on wine at home will have an impact ...

Danger time for me - got the mid afternoon munchies... going to do some hoovering to keep me busy. Had a normal breakfast and lunch and having no carbs for tea. Smile

Curiousquestioning · 23/07/2018 16:14

@ldbemonica1 Good on you! I'm in work and planning on going straight to zumba from here. Really don't feel like it but I'm going to make myself...first class will no doubt be the hardest!
