1 stone to lose

Curiousquestioning · 21/07/2018 21:57

Hello everyone,

Does anyone have 1 stone to lose? Would you like to help motivate one another? I'm not in to obsessiveness but for my health, I feel I should lose the belly.

I'm thinking of doing this the old-fashioned way by trying three things:

  1. Cutting down on drinking alcohol at home. Drinking a glass or two of wine at home has become part of my daily life.
  2. Three meals a day only. I snack so much and don't even realise how much I'm eating.
  3. Exercising daily. I'd love to think I exercise daily but in reality, I don't.

Are you in? This could work if we help to motivate one another. I know 1 stone doesn't seem like much to lose but I've been getting good at putting it on rather than burning it off!

Clothes still tight - no difference yet - I will keep going - leading a healthier lifestyle which I am v happy about even if weight not going yet. Hope you all are doing good 😀

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 27/07/2018 19:42

@Ethiopianflower I think you just have to be patient - that sounds like a lot of change in one week and it is definitely going to to take longer than that to notice a change.

I think the important thing is to keep it up - healthy food and exercise has got to be good, and is even better in the long term. After a month you should feel great and after two you will begin to get compliments etc.

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 27/07/2018 19:43

I forgot to say - well done for a good week!

My week has been a bit mixed: am staying with family and have had to attend a work conference for two days - buffet catering tends to be stuffed with sandwiches and I have little-to-no willpower! Did my best. Long walks and a seven-mile run this morning. It is all about damage limitation at the moment!

I hope everyone else has had a good day.

Ethiopianflower · 27/07/2018 20:03

7 mile run is brilliant - well done!!! We will get there slowly but surely. By Christmas we will be looking stunning in our little black numbers!!!!!!! I keep having to tell myself - it took a long time to go on and will take long time to come off - meanwhile lifestyle is so much better!!!! Have a good weekend everyone.

I'm in! 1 stone to lose- ideally by end of September- a good week so far but just had pizza for dinner!

AndBabyMakes3 · 28/07/2018 11:32

This week has not gone so well. After a month on lchf eating, we deliberately chose to forget the diet thurs evening and enjoy a meal out (had a voucher to use up) - the meal was lovely and we both decided we were too full for dessert! But then we bought baileys Irish cream for a treat when we got home.... that was my downfall. Had a couple of glasses last night too without even thinking about what i was doing. Realisation hit me last night when I was entering details into mfp Confused Going to a birthday party tonight too but will try to minimise what I consume by having dinner before I go. After today no more alcohol for a month! Wedding at the end of Aug will be the next time I drink if I have the willpower. So disappointed with myself but back on the wagon now...

Ethiopianflower · 28/07/2018 16:55

I am now buried under the wagon. Dd had her school birthday party today - I was out of control. Had oceans of crisps, jellies and cake 🍰. These last 2 days are a write off. Ah well - building myself a ladder so I can sneak back onto join you all on the wagon!!!!

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 28/07/2018 20:49

I'm in a similar boat: at my relative's still and she is a bit of a feeder. Trying my best to stay on the wagon. Not always easy. I struggle in the holidays anyway.

Tomorrow we are going out for pizza lunch; I'm planning a long run first!

VanillaSugar · 28/07/2018 20:57

Can I join? I'd like a stone off by September.

DD has got a waitressing job and hasn't passed her driving test yet so I'm picking her up after her night shift - which means I can't open up the WineWineWine. Am hoping this will be a result! Grin

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 28/07/2018 20:57

Hello @VanillaSugar!

I was off the drink last month - best weight loss month ever. Ffs!

VanillaSugar · 29/07/2018 07:55

Morning!!

I once lost 10lbs in 7days.

Here's what happened:

  1. off the booze for Lent, aka 6 weeks. No change on the scales, dammit.

2). Two 7 hour flights (outward/return) to Toronto with the kids who ate all my airline food. I get too nervous to eat on planes.

  1. stayed in a hotel, so no access to the fridge & treat cupboard

  2. too tight to use taxis so we walked everywhere- probably about 10 miles a day. My legs would ache at night.

5). Early to bed - asleep by 10, up at 6am

6). Ordered salads a lot and veggie food to keep the veggie intake up

7). Still very limited on alcohol

8). Went SHOPPING- walking to Tiffanys is the best motivator.

And.. it stayed off!! (Until Xmas when I put in half a stone via 1 bottles of Baileys)

TerfsUp · 29/07/2018 07:58

I'm in - have two stone to lose. On with the support and off with the weight! Grin

ATwinThing · 29/07/2018 08:06

Also in. 9lb to get to pre baby weight but the extra few to make a stone would be a bonus (I think I need to I remember I wasn't exactly slim at pre baby weight Grin)
Less wine, less cheese... At least exercise is on the increase now twins are moving about more, especially when they go in opposite directions...

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 31/07/2018 13:52

How is everyone doing? I'm away so not on the same scales - will weigh myself Thursday morning.

Not actually expecting much weight loss, since I had a huge ice cream sundae yesterday and having fish and chips for tea. But I have been extremely careful with other eating, plus ran a half marathon this morning, 6 yesterday - have run 30 miles this week, which is a lot for me. So I'm hoping I'll have stayed the same over the trip.

I have noticed that my appetite has shrunk a bit - so the ice cream was enough for me with only fruit and a small salad the other meals. I haven't had any booze either, though that will prob change when I get home.

Plan for August is, run every day and do 20 mins of Pilates every day.

AndBabyMakes3 · 31/07/2018 15:36

@ATwinThing - twins - I am in awe. Struggling getting anything done with just the one!! @TheBitchOfTheVicar well done on the running and keeping up exercise while you are away. I had a bad week last week but back on the wagon. Starting weight ~87 kg, last week 81.8 and 81.7 kg yesterday (weigh in on Mondays). Happy that it is not up after last week tbh! Went for an hours walk yesterday with baby in the pram (in the rain!) and planning on the same today once I prep dinner. Going to see PIL's today when DH finishes work as it is his mums birthday so don't want to be hungry and picking at stuff later; at least if dinner is ready we can come home and eat straight away. Having fathead keto pizza tonight, low carb and feels like a treat! How is everyone else doing?

Idbemonica1 · 12/08/2018 17:15

Just back from holiday and I have lost about a lb - I would normally gain. Drank what I wanted but didn't go mad, Had the odd ice cream for dessert but the main thing was eating 3 meals a day and no snacking. Will try to continue now i'm home. How's everyone else doing?
