I've been carrying an extra half stone since my holiday this time last year. I keep doing a halfhearted effort and Lasting just a day or two.

Anyone want to join me for a bit of accountability?

Here's why I want to lose weight:

  1. all my clothes feel better
  2. all my clothes look better
  3. I sleep better
  4. I have more energy
  5. it makes me happy
  6. Ir makes me healthy
  7. it sets a good example to my daughter.

Re the last one pre children I was 6 atone overweight. I can see some of those bad habits coming back at the moment and really really don't want her to pick up on them.

What am I going to do?

  1. fill in and stick to mfp
  2. restart c210k and run 3 times per week.

Come and join me!

Doing pretty poorly here. No losses but no gains either. Seem to have a perma-cold and I've been battling with conjunctivitis for a month! So hard to stay on track when you're miserable. I ate a whole large bag of big buttons yesterday because I was so exhausted and felt I needed the sugar. Felt awful afterwards :(

Weigh in tomorrow so I'm at least on the straight and narrow today. Large milky coffee for breakfast and I've a Mediterranean salad for lunch. Working from home today so I'm going to banish myself from the kitchen. Too easy to rummage for a biscuit when I'm working only a few feet away...

Sorry that people are struggling. Have decided I need to lose a bit more than half a stone. Closer to a stone really. V slow downward movement - average of 0.75 pounds a week.

Coming to terms with fact that 1200 calories and 20,000 steps is probably what I need to lose. Trying not to dwell too much on that thought and going for one day at a time.
Sticking as much to 16/8 as life allows as I think it helps stick to low calorie count too. So tea and coffee so far and "looking forward" to oatmeal porridge soya yogurt, berry combo in next half hour or so. Then tuna and egg salad for lunch, apple mid afternoon and salmon and tons of veg for dinner. It's fine when eating at home but even lunch out is a challenge isn't it?

I've lost 7.5lbs since the end of February, the 1st 2lbs by doing 16:8 and the next 5.5 by sticking to 1200 cals per day Monday to Friday and 1600(ish) on sat and sun. 3.5lbs to go to my ideal weight of 8 stone. It's not been easy as such but I think MFP is awesome, keeps me totally on track. What I find really useful is to enter everything I plan to eat that day in the morning - I then rarely eat something that hasn't been pre-entered as I don't want to mess up my 5-week predicted weight when I complete my food diary!

Just wondering how everyone is doing. Progress seems painfully slow here - scales seem to go up and down on a daily basis but looking back I'm 6lbs lighter than I was when I joined this thread. I think at my age and weight this is the best it gets.
Also I need to build some muscles. I swear I've looked trimmer at this weight in the past. Not a problem with the bits of body covered by clothes but upper arms and legs need more tone. That's probably another six weeks worth of challenge 😉
