New week, new thread.

I've has a 'fun' Easter! Too much chocolate and too much food at my mother's annual Easter 'feed the family' athon!

Unfortunately I've also been having problems with my front crown . It's finally given up the ghost so I'm going to have to have a bridge! Deep Joy!

Still at least its stopping me eating so much!

You shouldn't feel like the new girl.....just like an old friend dropping in to see us! I hope you feel likie dropping in more often!

WigWamBam · 09/04/2007 19:15

It's been an odd few weeks, and it just feels a bit strange to be here again, I guess. I dare say I'll be posting like a good 'un again pretty soon!

My eating is completely out of the window though, I haven't weighed myself in all the time I've been away and my eating is totally out of control. My guess is that I've put back everything I'd lost and will have to start from scratch again. Weight loss and sensible eating hasn't really been my priority recently though.

littlemisssensible · 09/04/2007 19:19

No point trying to diet/eat sensibly when you've other things to deal with/worry about!

Bu it'll be good to see you again, even if you're not bothering with the weighing etc!

We've all missed you!

WigWamBam · 09/04/2007 19:27

I would imagine it's been a relief not to have me here nagging everyone

I will weigh on Thursday and will probably start again rather than carrying on from where I left off ... it's better than having to post that I've gained two stone (or whatever it is I've undoubtedly piled on).

I can't dwell too much on the fact that I've gained though; shall just jump back on the wagon and get stuck in again. I won't be beating myself up about it.

So ... what's been happening the last few weeks? I know, I know - I ought to go and read the threads ...

Littlefish · 09/04/2007 19:30

But just couldn't resist saying hello to WWB! So lovely to see you again.

WigWamBam · 09/04/2007 19:31

Don't lurk, my love - come and have a chat

Littlefish · 09/04/2007 19:45

WWB - I may have a free day next Monday. Will your dd still be off school? Shall dd and I come to visit you? (Not offended if you don't fancy it).

Alternatively, does anyone fancy an impromptu meet up? I could do with a kick up the bottom from each and every one of you!

littlemisssensible · 09/04/2007 19:52

Well a bit of nagging is quite useful!

Remembering whats been going on is difficult! Time just seems to pass by and weeks blend into each other!

Mrs JC has delivered, but I guess you probably know that! And at any moment (tomorrow actually) Agalch will be married...she got to the point where her dress maker was telling her not to lose any more weight or else the dress would be too big!

I've finished my Inch loss course at the gym! I lost 5,75 inches overall so now I'm trying to stick to the GI diet they recommended (actually it works quite well for me!) and keep up with their exercise programme! I'm doing the Marathon challange which involves trying to run the marathon on the treadmill throughout April (don't have to do it all at once!)to win a weeks free membership for a friend (I'll use it for DH in the summer so that we can both take dd to the pool!)

WigWamBam · 09/04/2007 19:53

Dd is off school next Monday - teacher training day. I can't remember whether dh has taken the day off work or not but if we're not out somewhere it would be nice to try and meet up.

He's out cycling at the moment (at least one of us is getting some exercise!! - although last night when he came in he looked as if he was about to have a heart attack) but I'll check with him when he comes back. Would be lovely to meet up.

WigWamBam · 09/04/2007 19:58

I know about MrsJC, my spies dropped me an email to let me know.

Agalch is getting married tomorrow? Bloody hell, where has the time gone? I can't imagine she'll be here tonight but I really hope she has the most wonderful day. And she will look stunning in her dress, even if it is too big.

You're doing really well to be even looking at a gym, never mind going in Well done on your inch loss. I dabbled with the GI diet for a bit, seems mostly common sense really. I started it because having had gestational diabetes with dd, the GP was making mutterings about developing it later in life, and it's good from that point of view. However, it went the way of most of my good intentions!

littlemisssensible · 09/04/2007 20:13

Well I THINK its tomorrow that agalch gets hitched! But I'm terrible with dates/days!

I'm finding GI quite good for me in that without too many carbs I don't bloat as much, but I do have to watch that I don't over indulge on the proteins as I'm rather partial to the odd chunk of cheese/hunk of cold meat and can get carried away if not careful!

Suprisingly I don't seem to have so much trouble with sweets/chocolate as I used to...maybe I've just managed to retrain my taste buds!

I'm actually gonna take next Monday off with dd (Teacher training day for her too!) so depending where you might meet up it would be lovely to join you. I'm on the South coast but have no problem with leaping on a train as long as it isn't too far away!

WigWamBam · 09/04/2007 20:20

I have no problems with proteins; I don't eat meat or cheese (food of the devil!) so the proteins I do eat tend to be "good" ones - low fat, low calorie. It's the other stuff I struggle with! I eat far too much in the way of carbs, I know they're good for you and form a big part of GI, but portion control isn't my best attribute.

And crisps and chocolate tend to sneak their way in too ...

Although I haven't got any chocolate this Easter. Well, I have ... but the chocolates my mother got me aren't suitable for veggies, and the egg my MIL gave me is plain chocolate, which I detest (as she well knows). Am resisting the urge to sneak a little bit of dd's Lindt bunny ...

I'm nowhere near the South coast, am in the Midlands. Where would be a good place to try and meet up if we decided to do that?

littlemisssensible · 09/04/2007 20:38

hmmmmm. Well London I guess, although I'm not sure how easy that'll be for you travel wise.

I've a good train connection from here so only take me an 1.5-2 hours (depending if I get a fast or a slow!) But I remember having to get a train to Leicester and I seem to remember it took ages. Of course that may be because I had to get across London too!

The other problem would be where in London to meet/go as I don't know it all that well (usually only go up to shop or do the museums!)

Where is Littlefish based? And is there anyone else who'd want to meet up too?

Also would you want to travel a long way WWB? Or would you prefer something closer to home?

Littlefish · 09/04/2007 20:44

WWB and I are (nationally speaking) around the corner from each other. Well, about half an hour away I think.

Although it would be lovely to meet up LMS, London is just a bit too far away for me to do a day trip with dd.

JackieNo · 09/04/2007 20:58

Hi WWB - lovely to see you on here. Sorry I just missed your first post by a matter of minutes.

OP posts:
littlemisssensible · 09/04/2007 21:03

I thought that might be the case!

How close are you both to Leicester? Only my 2 eldest lo's (not so little - aged 22 and 24) live there and I could possibly cadge a bed Sunday night!

Would that work? Or would it not be local?

Dottydot · 09/04/2007 21:21

Hello WWB!!! Hmm, well, in the last few weeks I've lost 5lbs but put 4.5lbs on...

Glad to see you back - could do with a bit of inspiration/swift kick up the .... over here!

littlemisssensible · 10/04/2007 09:45

DH reminded me that we're supposed to be visiting friends on Sunday so I guess plans to sleep in Leicester are out

Littlefish and WWB I'll let you know when I'm next coming up to play grandma and maybe we'll be able to arrange something then!

ForcesSweetheart · 10/04/2007 11:19

Hi everyone. Been away for the last week visiting the folks in Glasgow (diet's been a no-go) so will report my gain on Thursday and get back on track. Must go unpack!

littlemisssensible · 10/04/2007 13:19

Did you have a good time FSH?

WigWamBam · 10/04/2007 18:31

Bloody hell, have just been looking at some of the other threads ... MN is a battle ground at the moment, what the devil is going on? Mass PMT or something?

JackieNo · 10/04/2007 18:50

You're right, WWB - it's all a bit weird atm - I'm sticking to this thread, and ones where I can post links to things that people have asked for. Strictly no opinions.

OP posts:
WigWamBam · 10/04/2007 19:02

Doesn't look as if anyone's allowed opinions these days ... I know MN has always been a bit feisty and I've always liked that, but crikey, it's out-and-out warfare at the moment!

JackieNo · 10/04/2007 19:54

I know. I think the only thing we're all agreed on is that we're sad that Life on Mars is finishing tonight.

OP posts:
JackieNo · 10/04/2007 19:57

On a happier note, I hope agalch's wedding went well today. And (for WWB), do you remember Amanda1, who had the fling with her boss on the office desk at Christmas, well they're getting married . A lovely ending to that story.
