Please join me and hold my hand.

I have two stone to lose and it is making me really miserable. I feel awful carrying this extra weight.

I have finally had enough and have decided to do something about it.

Tomorrow is the day!

My plan is to stop binge eating junk and just eat sensibly and to control my portion size.

I am 51 and 5'4.

Not sure of my exact weight but it will be around 11 stone. I will weigh myself in the morning when I shower and will post my starting weight.

Please please join me.

Hello all, hope you're all ok today.
RubySlippers77 I have done Slimming World Extra Easy a few years ago. Found it easy to stick to and I really did but hardly lost anything which was v disheartening as I went with a friend who lost like 10lbs the first week and then 8 the second and was constantly slimmer of the week so I jacked it in.
I lost weight years ago on Weight watchers, the original points diet and I did so well and kept it off a long time. Only a little bit on with 2 babies. But now I am back to square one.
I have tried the current WW plans and always do well for a while then run out of steam.
Not sure I can face doing it here though as can't read the literature and can understand what's going on. I can speak a bit of German and am studying it but can't talk socially and feel like a real spanner. Have lost all my confidence. TBH I feel like a fat hermit who can't even talk to anybody so have to be a loner. The only people I speak to are my OH and the kids.
Am going to be starting work in the autumn so hoping that will give me a boost but would like to be a stone lighter as I know I will feel tons more confident.

Feeling good today, after a killer headache yesterday... Not policing my food too much, staying off chocolate / sweets etc & having fruit instead. Bread next to go!
Long walk everyday this week & cleaning the house top to bottom today (lashing rain here). Plan to get lots of nice food in with a big shop at the weekend.

Juice I too had the most horrendous headache yesterday and nothing would shift it. It's still there a bit today but no where near as bad. I slept really badly last night because my head was pounding.

Feeling positive though.

It's the worst, cherrylove. Had to go to bed after work yesterday. Sometimes I get a sick stomach with my headaches, so at least I couldn't comfort eat to make myself feel better. Silver lining...

If you did have 9 babies SkyTV then none of us would blame you for having Cake and Wine every night!!

Sending you Flowers MrsDraper, it sounds like a lonely situation that you're in. WW online does have great communities you can join - I did it years ago like you and it was very helpful then - or there are other websites/ apps you can use. But yes, going in person is often the best way - are there any community groups you could join, do you live near any other English speaking people?

Today I remembered my Choc Shot Sweet Freedom stuff, very nice actually and a bit different to honey, would recommend it for people with a sweet tooth trying to cut down on actual chocolate. Then DS1 was a whingey little horror all day and I ended up shovelling in a chocolate brownie Sad - no idea how I can stop myself eating loads of crap when I am feeling down. It doesn't help that he was up at 5.45am and I was absolutely shattered.....

Day four

Hi ladies, how are you all doing?

I was a thing possessed during the night. I found myself in the kitchen with teaspoon in hand eating spoonfuls of Nutella at 3am. Oh dear Grin

It's gone in the bin now!

Oh dear cherrylove!! You must really have had a chocolate craving!!

Yes, certain things I can't keep in the house or I will simply eat them Sad

Oh Cherrylove that could have so easily have been me! There was a bargainous bucket jar of Nutella on offer in Sainsbury's that the children would have loved but I put it back because of the potential weak moment that would have resulted in me face first in the jar.

Well done for binning it, today is a new day!

Hi all,
Thanks for the flowers Ruby
I have joined a knitting group so I go into the city on the underground and feel all brave, that's on a Sunday night at the moment that's my bit of me time and grown up conversation. The problem I have at the moment is it's early days and I haven't started work yet. OH is working (and speaks German) so it's not so difficult for him although he said he's missing the UK but he can keep his brain active and he's at least got colleagues to chat to. Sure it will be better when I start working in the Autumn.
Anyway, I went to the supermarket on my bike this morning, so felt like at least I did some exercise.
I think my first step is to stop eating convenience foods, so cutting out pizzas and stuff. Going to cook from scratch. If feeling lazy it will be baked potato as that's easy!!
OH has done his homemade curry for tonight, it's really lean and smells gorgeous, been driving me crazy all day (slowcooker).
Am feeling bit more positive (think I was a bit PMSy yesterday) and thanks so much for the kind words. Am having a look at WW at home and might start it next week. Need to find my scales but I think they are in a moving box somewhere!!!
Whinging is the worst sound known to woman, it just grinds you down. Also being tired from getting up at crazy o'clock is known to make you crave sugar so don't feel bad
Keep going everybody

Glad you are feeling more positive MrsDraper! How was the curry?

I am feeling very full after eating too much dinner this evening and cake during the day, not exactly good dieting etiquette is it?! But I had another late night and then early morning with the DCs, that coupled with OH snoring like a pig all night sent me over the edge.....

Morning! I'm not sure of the wisdom of weighing everyday...I lost 2 pounds by day 2 but today? Nothing.

Now I'm getting those "What's the point of being miserable?" thoughts. But I'm not miserable, just dispirited. Maybe I'll stick to weekly weighings.

I've also had a big bowl or porridge with Apple and Greek yogurt so I'll probably be having carb cravings all day.

I think I'll be keeping an eye on this thread today!

Disreputable it's no fun this dieting is it. I am tempted to weigh daily but if the scales didn't show a loss I would just think oh what's the point and then just stuff my face all day. Dieting definitely makes you feel miserable but being overweight also makes me feel terrible about myself so I guess I will choose miserable with weight loss.

I've never thought of Greek yogurt with porridge, it sounds good. When I was small my mum would make me porridge with carnation milk poured over the top with soft brown sugar, it's the perfect comfort food but calorie hell Smile

Ruby don't worry about yesterday just start again today. Being tired and stressed is the quickest way to get me eating loads of food and then you just feel bad afterwards because you feel like a failure.

You have my permission to smother your dh with your pillow. Why do they snore? It drives me insane. I am lucky in a way because my youngest dc has recently moved out so I have a spare bed that I can get into when the snoring gets too much.

I hope that you are feeling more positive today.

MrsDraper well done with your knitting group. It can't be easy being in a different country and not speaking the language so you are doing really well and being brave.

Yes, convenience foods are the devils work and cooking from scratch will have a big impact on weight loss as you will be consuming way less calories and fat. I bloody love pizza! 🍕

Please keep posting on this thread, there is strength in numbers and we all want to achieve the same thing so we may as well do it together.

Have a good day.

Can I join please. I weighed 12 stone at 5 feet tall. I had been quite pleased with myself because I had got to 11 stone 3. Just got back off hols last night and I am back to 11 stone 7. I wouldn't mind so much if I had had a fantastic time but it was bloody awful. i didn't even have a drink, I just ate lots of crap because I was so bored.

Morning all. Have been pretty good apart from a few drinks on Thursday as had a night out (though food wise stuck to low carb tapas Grin) Also been to the gym a lot. I find if I have a late breakfast with protein I can last longer between eating and don't get as hungry ... But working away from home a fair bit in the next couple of weeks which always spells disaster Sad. Haven't dared weigh myself as get so fed up if I've been 'good' and not lost... How are we all doing this weekend? What are we all up to?

User, yes please join us.

I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy your holiday. Boredom makes me eat too, in fact there is not a lot that doesn't make me want to eat. I eat if I am happy and if I'm sad.

Being over weight makes me bloody miserable and only I can change that. Unfortunately there is no miracle cure.

I do think that posting on here does help me as we are all in the same boat.

Clarice big respect to you for going to gym. I have felt so tired all week as I haven't been eating carbs and sugar which has greatly reduced my energy levels.

I'm not feeling too bad today, I think my body has just been adjusting over the last few days.

I haven't been doing any exercise but I have been clocking up around 10,000 Fitbit steps a day so that's something I suppose.

Just done my werkly weigh, i go to boots and the machine prints out a little ticket, i quite like keeping them as souveniers. Anyway, 2 lbs off so quite happy, it is a good sensible amount, secretly i would like to loose more each week. My sensible head says loosing more each week is not good really.

2lb a week is great Peace. Losing at that rate would be a stone in less than 2 months which I would be thrilled with. Cherry 10,000 steps is just as good as going to the gym! Since I have been working from home my steps are minimal as always too busy ... so the gym makes up for it as I get it out of the way early. Had eggs and bacon for breakfast, now putting off cleaning the house (I loathe housework!)

Peace well done on your 2lb loss. I love the idea of getting a little ticket out of the weighing machine at Boots. I don't think that my local boots has a weighing machine as it's a tiny branch but I will double check when I next go. I want a printed ticket!!

Somehow the ticket is part of the journey for me, along with the KOKO mantra! Come on ladies we can do this, we are magnificent!

Hi Kids
I have decided to take the plunge and join a gym, I am cutting corners to pay for it but I think that I cannot afford not too. First day tomorrow and I hope everyone else will not be tiny and wearing lycra. I don't drive so dh will be dropping me off and picking me up. The thought of him saying 'I knew you wouldnt keep it' up will make sure I actually attend.

Hi all. Well done for keeping going 😀. Not a terribly bad weekend, just a few naughties and no alcohol! Been to macdonalds today and had chicken selects and carrot sticks! Did have a galaxy mcflurry though 🙈. Weigh day tomorrow for me so fingers crossed. Would like a 2lb loss but realistically AF is overdue by a few days and I have a horrid metallic taste in my mouth. I know I am not pregnant (sterilised 9 years ago and not dtd this month 😂) so presuming menopause starting. Not sure what that will mean weight wise!
