Please join me and hold my hand.

I have two stone to lose and it is making me really miserable. I feel awful carrying this extra weight.

I have finally had enough and have decided to do something about it.

Tomorrow is the day!

My plan is to stop binge eating junk and just eat sensibly and to control my portion size.

I am 51 and 5'4.

Not sure of my exact weight but it will be around 11 stone. I will weigh myself in the morning when I shower and will post my starting weight.

Please please join me.

Clarice that sounds like me, I'm great Monday- Thursday then it all goes wrong and I drink wine, eat out (making poor choices) and start eating junk! I've just changed job where my meals are provided while I'm there, if I don't take control I'll end up gaining another stone!

runningtogetskinny · 27/06/2017 19:44

I don't think my age is helping either, but I'm not turning 50 overweight!

SKYTVADDICT · 27/06/2017 21:37

I also don't want to turn 50 fat. I said that about 40 too but was pregnant so it didn't happen 😂. Had a good day - eating to plan and 1 hr of fun tennis tonight worked up a little sweat. Hope you all got on ok too

RubySlippers77 · 28/06/2017 00:04

Could I join you please ladies? Turned 40 a couple of months ago but my 'fit by 40' plan never happened Blush so now I'm trying to find some other motivation!!

I'm 5ft 5 and around 12 stone, my target is to lose 30lb although realistically if I lost 20 that would be a big improvement. I have twin boys aged 20 months and am always so flipping hungry though! Running round after them does up my step count (13K a day on average according to my Fitbit) but clearly not enough to counteract all the biscuits...

Hope everyone has had a good day xx

toffeeboffin · 28/06/2017 00:38

I'll join you lot if that's OK.

As long as you don't mind putting up with my whinging!

I've lost around 20lbs since DD was born in January, got another ten lbs to lose, so altogether a bit more than two stone.

My plan is simple really : lower carb, higher veg and protein and around 1500 cals per day. Not much sugar - except fruit and the odd bit of Nutella. Have peanut butter but it's natural stuff. Yawn. No alcohol as I'm not bothered by it: I'd rather have cake as a treat instead.

It's worked since I started but my Lord it's been slow to lose : but it is easier in summer as I can exercise and get out with the pram.

My focus is trying to fit into my old jeans, they are starting to fit.

Also bought myself a pair of summer trousers that nowhere near fitted two month ago but I'm determined to squeeze into them by August!

We can do it ladies!

Day two

Welcome toffee, ruby, running and itsmy. Thanks for joining us.

Well I officially feel like crap. I had no carbs or sugar yesterday and have woken up with a thumping headache and I am really tired. I want to go back to bed but I am working this morning.

I hope that you all got through yesterday. It's really hard isn't it?

Although I feel rough I am also feeling positive and am really pleased that I have made a positive start.

My plan today is to lay off the sugar and carbs. Any form of exercise will definitely not be happening unless this headache shifts but I will walk the dogs later on.

I went food shopping yesterday and only bought healthy food and there is no junk in the house to tempt me.

Good luck today to you all.

runningtogetskinny · 28/06/2017 08:43

Thanks cherry I have the same plan, cut sugar and keep carbs to a minimum. I'm doing a 25 hour shift (I sleep at work overnight 12-6.30) and have to eat roughly the meals that are prepared but could make something else so will see what's for dinner tonight. If my Tesco shop arrives soon I'm going to do body pump before I start at 11.00! Weighed in at 10st 4 this morning so that's my starting weight Smile

Itsmytemporaryname · 28/06/2017 09:05

Toffee 20lbs since January is loads! You're doing amazing, well done.

DisreputabIeDog · 28/06/2017 09:26

Hello! I started to post yesterday but was sidetracked by the usual bloodcurdling screams and endless moaning of family life.

I wan't to lose 2 stone too, I've weighed in this morning at 12st 12 and need to sort my shit out. I was always, always the skinny one and now I'm, well...not.

So I'm going to do the Newcastle/blood sugar diet for 2 weeks and then hopefully switch onto healthy lower carb eating and my goal is to be 2 stone lighter by September.

That's achieveable isn't it?!

runningtogetskinny 25 hours? That sounds horrific, particularly with low carbs [my new hero]

JuicyCake · 28/06/2017 10:02

I'm hoping to be at my goal weight by Christmas. Got there slowly last time & I'm terrified of my face collapsing (although there's enough chubby cheeks to go round).
Reckon I could live without booze too, as I don't drink much. Then bread. I like rye crackers, oatcakes etc... Sugar is the tough one, but I've done it before. Once I lose the taste for it...

JuicyCake · 28/06/2017 10:05

Greek yoghurt (one spoon), peach, blueberries, mixed seeds, almonds. Cup of tea. Out for a nice walk, shortly.

runningtogetskinny · 28/06/2017 10:39

Haha disreputable I start at 11.00, supposedly go to bed at 23.00 (rarely happens there's always some kid who decides not to come home) then next day starts at 7.00 and finish at midday. It's a long time to be surrounded by biscuits, sweets, crisps, ice cream, chips, toast etc! Confused

GnusSitOnCanoes · 28/06/2017 11:08

Am I too late to join? I need to lose a stone, mainly because none of my clothes fit, and because I'm eating so much sugar I feel permanently exhausted and ill. My plan is no sugar, fewer carbs and to force myself to start going some exercise. Even if it's just walking.

Mrsdraper1 · 28/06/2017 15:38

Ladies,
may I join?
I need to lose 4 stone but would settle for 3.
I have lost weight in the past and never put as much back on as this time. I just can't get my head round it.
I have had a very stressful year, as we have moved to Germany and I have left a job I was in for 16 years. I don't know anyone here and have been comfort eating.
I have got a bike (nice shopper with a cutesy basket on the front) so can go out on that when the weather ok.
Is anyone else overwhelmed with all the discussion about best ways to lose weight? There is so much contradictory information out there.

cherrylove · 28/06/2017 15:46

Welcome to Gnus and Mrs

Come join our pain. Grin

Weighed myself today and I'm 13'4 - so overestimated my weight by 3lbs, which was a relief surprise.

Been pretty good today, one little hiccup but have stayed within my calories on My Fitness Pal so far and am planning to do some time on the exercise bike once the kids are in bed.

SKYTVADDICT · 28/06/2017 22:09

Day 2 another good day. No exercise (other than looking after 9 babies all day 😂 and walking the dog tonight) but eating went well and to plan. Hats off to all you no sugar and low/no carbs. Its not for me. It will be intetesting to compare losses though with different diets

runningtogetskinny · 28/06/2017 22:37

Had tuna salad for lunch, however, dinner at work was cheese and onion slice (pastry!) chips and peas Hmmonly had small amount and still under mfp goal of 1200 cals. Did body pump before work and went ten pin bowling at work so overall not too bad - no sugar!!

RubySlippers77 · 28/06/2017 22:42

SkyTV - 9 babies??! I only have two and they drive me insane most days!!

Same as you, I know low carb works but I just couldn't stick to it. I've cut out bread (and cake - most of the time!) but need that bit of pasta/ potatoes to fill me up, plus it's much easier to reheat and pick on once the DCs are finally, thank God in bed.

I just cannot get my Fitbit to link with MFP or I'd give that a go; every time I try it tells me it's already linked, which it clearly isn't. MFP were bugger all use and couldn't tell me why or how to correct it, grrrrr.

MrsDraper, have you tried any weight loss plans before? I found Slimming World the easiest to stick to but others like Weight Watchers, low carb, low sugar etc. Maybe have a read of the other threads and some websites to find out what would fit in best with your lifestyle. I would say that the WW website/ app is definitely the best - the SW is a bit rubbish - but it depends if you can get your head round the Points system.

Bloodcurdling screams and endless moaning - do you live in my house, DisreputableDog?!?

17K steps today and 45 minutes swimming with the boys. No wonder I am tired out!

cherrylove · 29/06/2017 06:23

Day Three

Good morning ladies.

I have been really good so far and it sounds like you are all doing well too.

I find this thread a little safety blanket and it really helps to read what we are all saying.

I just came down to puppy poo all over the lounge so that's killed my appetite!

Nine babies, that's insane, you are one brave lady. Do you want my puppy?

Anyway, I am working today so no access to food.

Good luck all, let's keep on track. Smile

ChainingDaisy · 29/06/2017 06:32

Can i join? I've not got much to loose, but I've been putting it off spectacularly. I lost quite a lot last year on a thread, but it eventually died, as did my dieting... I'm actually on day three, I NEED to loose half a stone, between 1 and 1.5 stone would be much better though.

Currently 5 foot 9 and 66.3 kg (10 stone 6, but my scales are stuck in kg).

ChainingDaisy · 29/06/2017 06:45

Scrap that. My scales are having a funny turn. I'm either 5kg more than I was yesterday, or they're just not working at the moment. So, dieting, but who knows what starting weight, or how much I wanted to loose...

SKYTVADDICT · 29/06/2017 06:54

Just a quickie - I don't have 9 babies I work in a baby room at a Nursery 😂. Have a good day everyone. Just had poached egg, tomatoes, beans and bacon for breakfast

cherrylove · 29/06/2017 08:21

Sky thanks for clarifying the 9 babies!

OP posts:
DisreputabIeDog · 29/06/2017 10:18

Ha! 9 babies... that's a relief they're not all yours.

Eggs and bacon for breakfast. It's transition day here so I've been ferrying children to different schools this morning and only just had the chance to make the bloody meal so I've accidentally fasted for 16 hours. I've got that urge to eat everything now so may take myself out for a bit until the feeling passes.

I'm not hungry just...moochy. I'm my own worst enemy I really am!
