Hi
I'm overweight (5'5 and 13 and a half stone)
This is my build basically fat goes on thighs and when I exercise they get muscly.
Anyone else the same and managed to slim them down?
Even at 10.5st I had larger thighs (obviously not this large!)

Thanks in advance please don't be cruel about my body have underachieving thyroid and gained 3st with pregnancy that I can't seem to shift.

I have the same. Lost a lot of weight in last year but still have disproportionately large thighs. Good from a heart health point of view but nightmare in clothes!

Watching for advice!

Billybonkers76 · 13/04/2017 13:57

I have big thighs too and the only way I found to slim them without gaining muscle is running. Not fast but for at least 40-60 minutes. Most high intensity classes build muscle, cycling builds muscle, sprinting builds muscle etc.
Sometimes I give up and embrace them for a bit, my niece has the same issue and she is a power lifter! Then I don't fit my jeans and I have a crisis again and I'm back into the running. Also, food is obviously the main way to lose weight.

I'm afraid I have no thigh advice but wanted to say you look bloody fab in that bikini.

Dozer · 13/04/2017 15:05

It's just your (hourglass) shape best just accept it and dress in ways to flatter it, any exercise will help. It's healthier to carry weight on thighs then in the middle.

ew1990 · 13/04/2017 15:11

You do look bloody fab!! Xx

Nishky · 13/04/2017 15:12

Another one who thinks you look amazing

notadutchie · 13/04/2017 15:20

You look wonderful - and I love your thighs!

RJnomore1 · 13/04/2017 15:22

You do look incredible.

notadutchie · 13/04/2017 15:23

Sorry! I know people with your buildwho have done low weight high rep type activities to remain strong but not build up muscle mass. They slowly built up the weight but always kept high reps. Things like squatting with weights will strengthen them and build mass, so if you're not wanting muscle mass, don't do that sort of thing (i.e. High weight, low-medium reps).

EmmaC78 · 13/04/2017 16:11

Another person who also thinks you look fab. My thighs are really out of proportion to the rest of me and running was the only thing I found that helped.

Ohyesiam · 13/04/2017 16:35

I would love to look like that in a bikini. I have no waist, and it makes buying clothes a nightmare.
The best exercise I've ever done for looking Long and lean is yoga, I look stretched when I do lots! The muscles look elegant and elongated. Barbra Curry s 7 secrets of yoga is in 10 minute sections, so I always find time to do it. About £3 from finddvd.com.
But I must say again, you have a really lovely body.

sallievp · 13/04/2017 17:32

Yes you do look nice in a bikini... Everything in the right places 🙂

Ellieboolou27 · 13/04/2017 23:34

Callanetics - really old and super cheesy music but very good for slimming down thighs.
I'm the same height and weight as you but an apple shape with very slim thighs - I'd kill for your shape, your waist is amazing and personally I think you look amazing as you are.

yankeecandlelovers · 14/04/2017 00:25

Wow didn't expect these kind comments I'm a bit embarrassed but thanks! Blush

I guess it's just u never see celebrities t women in the public eye with larger legs? I have a biggish round bum too but ever since J Lo/ Beyoncé men seem to love bums. It's just never legs!

Lots of good suggestions thank you so much will try them !

Celebrities are not a depiction of reality.

dudsville · 14/04/2017 08:54

Your look really stunning. We're not just saying that. You've got to embrace that! !!

VimFuego101 · 14/04/2017 09:06

I'm a similar weight but my waist goes outward instead of inward, I'd love to have your waist.

NashvilleQueen · 14/04/2017 09:07

You look great in that bikini!

GoodyGoodyGumdrops · 14/04/2017 09:13

You have a classically beautiful, curvaceous, feminine shape.

junebirthdaygirl · 14/04/2017 09:14

My weight goes on thighs too..Most important thing is to dtess to suit body shape so focus on your lovely waist.
As you said you gained weight in pregnancy if you are planning another pregnancy breastfeeding does slim down the thighs in an amazing was but that may not be part of your plan.
Also you have great arms so factor waist and arms into dresses and you will be stunning.

Eminado · 14/04/2017 09:16

You do have a lovely figure.

eternalopt · 14/04/2017 09:23

Who cares about your thighs - what a lovely flat stomach.

Nancy91 · 14/04/2017 09:24

Your figure is amazing!! I think your thighs are absolutely fine, but the only way to make them smaller is to lose weight via cutting calories I'm afraid.

But I don't reckon you should bother - I wish I had a body like yours! Envy

Rinceoir · 14/04/2017 09:24

June I breastfed DD for 2.5years. I'm afraid my thighs did not get the message!
