So fat I'm uncomfortable

So I'm 5'7 and weigh 16 stone 10.

Its become ridiculous. When I sit down I feel so uncomfortable with my tummy all rolling up, I feel like my insides have no space. I've been bigger than this but didn't feel like this. Anyone else ever feel like there's no space in their body? Mainly around my ribs. I think it's worse when my bras off.

Anywho, I feel stuck. I am struggling so hard to find motivation to shift this.

Hiw do you get motivated?
Relaxing on the sofa with some food is just my favourite thing to do, I'm struggling to find energy to want to do anything else..

Sorry for the rambling, not really sure what I want/expect reply wise. Just felt I needed to say it out loud, maybe it'll shame me into doing something..

I'll join you OP. I'm at an all-time high. I know I'm really good at losing weight as I've done it lots of time before! Blush
I keep telling myself that I'll just get X or y out of the way then I'll start, only I've been saying that for months.
Right my small steps this week will be having a proper breakfast and drinking more water, both of which should help suppress snacking.

sparklefarts · 10/03/2017 12:53

Ditto burning lady time I lost six stone. I cannot believe I let myself get back here.

Lets do this!

toffeeboffin · 10/03/2017 12:59

Good luck sparkle, you sound in a great frame of mind, you can do this! Flowers

MsJuniper · 10/03/2017 13:01

Hi Sparkle, good on you for sharing your pics and starting your journey. I lost 6 stone about 10 years ago but have since gained 8 - a whole person 😳

I find that I always need something to stick to so I work best with weight loss clubs. Even on a bad week I always eat a lot less on weigh-in day so it's something.

After a few false starts on SW I joined WW in late Jan and have lost a stone in 8 weeks. Slightly slower progress than I'd like but it's been steady and I already feel better, clothes looser etc.

Arriettyborrower · 10/03/2017 13:12

Good luck sparkle, you've got a good shape, albeit with padding, but once you start losing you will feel so much better and healthier. You can do it!

derxa · 10/03/2017 13:25

MsJuniper Exactly the same as you.

paddypants13 · 10/03/2017 16:32

Thanks Sparkle! I think you're looking really good in your photos, keep going!

I have managed to walk about 6 miles today and even refused cake last night. Tomorrow will be a challenge because I'm spending the day at my parents' house and dm is a bit of a feeder.

I definitely can't break my diet today because dh is on a night shift and there is no crap in the house. Once the children are in bed, I'm house bound!

Agadooo · 10/03/2017 16:33

Right what's the plan-are you writing what u eat each day or writing weight loss each week-sparkle?

geordiedench · 10/03/2017 21:34

Hmm
I did an exercise class for an horu and walked for 45 mins and drank 8 glasses of water. Suppose that's a start.
Food's fine until 4pm. That's my dipping point when I just want to eat loads.Often I eat so much then that I'm not hungry at dinner time, when the food is healthier home made dinners. At 4pm it's toast and fruit and crisps and cereal. If I could overcome that it would help a lot.

Verticalvenetianblinds · 10/03/2017 22:08

I walked this morning, bout 1.5 miles, took 40 minutes. My hips hurt, I have a blister where my toes are fat. I ate 2 lindor chocolate eggs at work. It's not started well :(
Just a bit shit really, yet nothing changes so I can't really moan about it!

dementedma · 10/03/2017 22:15

You can do it sparkle

sparklefarts · 11/03/2017 07:16

Thank you all.

Right. My plan is to write down what I eat each day and what exercise I do. It's not going to be a major diet overhaul straight away, my first weeks aim is to cut out chocolate and add in some exercise. I'll add a new aim after a week or two.
Everyone else want to do this way too?
Maybe we can do a weigh in every Friday or Saturday to see how much we've lost(or gained, let's be realistic at the beginning) that week.

geordie maybe the 4pm could be your first aim? I have the same kind of binge in the mornings, about 10 so to begin with. I'm not going to worry so much about how much I eat then, just make sure I swap it for better stuff like nuts and fruit if you see what I mean. The exercise is brilliant so don't let that put you off

vertical thats excellent, well done on walking to work. It may hurt at first, but your feet will get used to it. Do you have proper trainers? I wouldn't worry about just two lindt chocolates to be gone straight. It's a tiny fail but if you over think it you'll get yourself down. Focus on the good changes such as walking

sparklefarts · 11/03/2017 08:15

I've had toast with honey for breakfast (weekend treat)

Can't think of what to have for lunch. Hmmm. Need to go to the shops so need to think if something. Any suggestions?

OP posts:
paddypants13 · 11/03/2017 08:43

Vertical - just think, you'd still probably have eaten the eggs but not done the exercise before. You've made a start, keep going.

MelinaMercury · 11/03/2017 08:52

Hi Sparkle, can I buddy up with you guys too?

Im 5'3 and 16st 3lbs... I was 17st 11.5lbs in 2013, got down to 13s1 in 2015 and then things went to shit and im getting closer to where I started.

Like you, I feel uncomfortable all the time now when I didn't before despite being bigger so I need to sort it out for myself.

sparklefarts · 11/03/2017 09:19

Hi melina the more the merrier!

I'm the same, lost loads of weight. 2013/14 and have just buggered it all up.

OP posts:
triskele · 11/03/2017 09:46

I've been there too OP. One day something just clicked and I was on the. Look sugar diet the next day.

I did 8 weeks of that and calorie counting after that. On October 3rd last year I was 16st 9lb (am 5ft 8in) and yesterday I was 12st 6lb. I still need to lose another 9lb to have a healthy BMI but I feel amazing!

Clothes are 12/14. I look taller. My skin looks fab. I'm no longer pre diabetic. My blood pressure is down and I'm off meds.

Although I'm counting calories I'm still doing this with healthy meals and not 3x Mars bar iyswim. I did no exercise either those first few weeks. I'm now doing yoga and. Odd balance.

Once I've lost another stone I'll stop and work on maintaining as this is a change for life.

OP I'm not boasting I'm here to tell you it can be done. You just have to flip that switch in your head.

Good luck!

Verticalvenetianblinds · 11/03/2017 13:45

its all tiny baby steps :) for what its worth sparkle, you look 'firmer' than I do, less cellulitey and baggy skin?
I didn't walk to work today as planned (its raining etc, excuses excuses) but im going to do some gardening tomoro!

Tootsiepops · 11/03/2017 14:47

Hi - can I join? I'm 5ft 4in and think I must currently weigh just over 16 stone. I've had 3 bereavements and a miscarriage in the last five years and gained a stone each time. I'm miserable.

Yesterday, I went to meet a personal trainer at the gym with the intention of doing some sessions once / twice per week. And I've had bereavement counselling, but am waiting to start cbt - I'm a binge / comfort eater and I really need help to stop.

Agadooo · 11/03/2017 19:06

So today I've had

Breakfast- bowl of shreddies
Lunch-weight watcher tin soup n toasted bagel thin with lightest philadelphia n some cherry tomatoes n cucumber
Dinner-corn in cob and 2 quorn burgers in rolls

Neverknowing · 11/03/2017 19:26

Hey, sorry I'm late to the party! I find the best thing to do is to eat a piece of fruit or drink a glass of water when you want to eat something bad, it really helps with the cravings. Make it nice fruit though so it feels like a treat. Also, the zombies run app really sparks me to actually go for a run and once you have that level of fitness you actually want to go, good luck op!!

KeepLookingUp · 11/03/2017 20:13

Hi sparkle, the title of your thread really got my attention because i feel the same way. I really wish you well on our weight loss journey and ask can I join in too? A couple of times Ive noticed I get out breath tying my shoelaces, and get really hot and sweaty when I'm trying to get my DD (4) dressed. I am 5.3 and weigh 14.7 stone. And now that I've typed that I realise that no-one actually knows how much I really weigh.
I am so ashamed of myself, hate my giant belly which has been growing steadily since I turned 40 almost 3 years ago. I have started the c25k (again) and am trying to be sensible with eating - tried so many diets that didn't work long term. I am an emotional eater and eat when I am bored. I really need to change because i am worried about my health. Oh and I just remembered something that made me die inside. My DS drew a picture of me a few weeks ago, normal face but with an enormous belly, I was so mortified. Anyway, I do want to change and hopefully I'll be inspired by all you lovely people. Now I'm off to drink a load of water and if I can get a bit of peace, a bit of a pilates DVD.

sparklefarts · 11/03/2017 21:23

Hi all

Sorry it takes me a while to reply, the toddler makes it difficult to play with my phone as I'm sure you all understand well!

Welcome to tootsie and lookingup its great to have more people, of course you can join.

agadoo that's a really good day we'll done!

I've done quite badly today but I'm not bothered, I hadn't really planned to start this weekend so the food I have in isn't right. Shopping tomorrow will it start properly Monday. But I'm still going to record to get myself in the habit and to be more conscious of it

I ate:
Breakfast, two slices toasg and honeh
Lunch, chicken and bacon wrap with some crisps
Dinner, mushroom and spinach burger in a pitta bread and sweet potato fries
Snack, four mint oreo oh and a few spoonfuls of ice cream. Whoops.

Went for a hour Nd half - two hour walk around the park, nit fast but better than nothing
