Welcome and well done on the losses Star

Still 10st 9 this morning, had an overnight 2lb bloat gain a couple of days ago but back to normal weight now. Bloody drives me crazy when that happens. Think it was due to lack of sleep and less water.

I hope to reach 10st 7 by the first of September. I'll have lost 3st then Grin

DawheadAwgusEeentock · 09/08/2016 17:18

Thanks hopefully will see how tomorrow goes and then I might try daily next week. TOTM arrived today so feeling v meh and not very optimistic about weigh-in tomorrow Sad

Welcome Loli yay I'm not the newbie any longer Wink. Those are great losses so far - you seem v disciplined - well done! I find posting here a real motivation and also get great inspiration from all the lovely posters.

Well done shortaris Star 3lb is brilliant in one week.

Must you're doing great and 3st will be such a milestone.

Despite AF I'm doing ok - on plan today and we're trying a Davina recipe tonight. It's a weird sounding leek, ham and cheese fake fajita thing (but photo looks nice) so don't have the exact calorie count yet. Will report back tomorrow if I survive it Grin

Lolimax · 09/08/2016 17:27

Thanks for the welcome Smile. Off to Zumba in a bit even though I ache from Latino Fit last night. I think I over stretched on the lunges. Fancy a giggle? I bought a yoga mat in Tiger and didn't unpack it until it was needed in the middle of class last night. Imagine my shock and giggles when I saw this....

Lolimax · 09/08/2016 17:28

My lovely yoga mat!

SesameSparkle · 09/08/2016 21:08

Welcome loli omg at your yoga mat! I'm trying to imagine what my snooty ashtanga studio would make if that.... Shock Well done on your loss so far btw - tremendous.

dawhead I think weekly weigh ins are better as you're more likely to see progress rather than get put off by all the daily fluctuations even though I weigh much more often than this.... Good luck for tomorrow.

hopefully well done on all the walking. I think I read somewhere that 10,000 steps equals a five mile walk. Extraordinary.

short we are bmi buddies Smile. Well done on the losses.

must I'm cheerleading for those 2lb to come off so you can reach that milestone.

I've been getting a few compliments lately on my losses so far . I'm in 2 minds about it actually - I do like to hear people telling me that I look nice, but I find it a bit double edged as I think that implies I wasn't looking so good before, when I was carrying a few extra pounds. Is anyone else in this situation? How do you react?

Hopefully · 10/08/2016 08:43

Sesame do you do ashtanga too? I've been practicing for about a year now.

Last day in London today, am slightly worried about my weigh in tomorrow morning! Haven't been too terrible, but have definitely indulged a bit, and no idea how the walking might have offset it - haven't even attempted to log while we've been away. Am terrible at judging how my clothes fit until I've gained/lost huge amounts of weight, so can't tell from that.

SesameSparkle · 10/08/2016 09:45

hopefully yes, although the full ashtanga sequence is a bit too tough for me so I tend to go to one of the gentler classes each week. I really should go more often than this. Good luck for your weigh in.

More confetti this morning! Grin I'm now at 10st7! So that's one more lb off, which has taken me 8 days to achieve.

Hopefully · 10/08/2016 19:07

I don't do anything like the full sequence - I do the Marichyasana twists then closing (backbends/headstand etc).

Hopefully · 10/08/2016 19:07

As in, I go as far as them, not as in I only do Marichyasana!

Hopefully · 10/08/2016 19:09

In other news, I am moderately worried about tomorrow's weigh in!

Lolimax · 10/08/2016 19:23

What's this MFP confetti? I ache all over I'm not looking forward to Zumba tonight. Not feeling the love!

DawheadAwgusEeentock · 10/08/2016 19:46

Ooo lots of updates since yesterday - wahoo!

loli that yoga mat is brilliant Grin - did the rest of the class notice it! I am very jealous that you go to such fun sounding classes Envy Wink

Sesame thank you Flowers - and that is not a stealth boast at all - and I agree it is mixed emotions when people notice weight loss. I'm not sure what the answer is and it might depend on who says it. Someone nice and well-meaning gets a simple "thank you". Someone horrible gets an "oh - did you think I was overweight before Hmm" and see if they squirm. (Disclaimer: I would never be brave enough to do this in RL).
And well done on more confetti!!! Star One lb in 8 days is great - esp at your low weight now and you will be able to maintain it much better.

So....week 1 and I lost 2lbs. I actually weigh in kg and convert, so 0.9kg to be precise bringing me to 74.7kg (11st 10ish). Because of AF I'm happy, but otherwise a teeny bit disappointed as I usually lose more than 1kg in the first week of every new attempt. Esp as my daily avg last week was 1100 cals.

However, I'm feeling good and proud of myself, still having a treat every day and not feeling hungry/deprived so I am counting that as a nsv.

V interesting for me though, was that my scales measures body fat and it says all of that 0.9kg was entirely body fat so if it's true then that's a good sign and treadmill might be helping.

Still on plan, Davina's leek dish was nice and entire dinner (with a few spuds added) only came to 430 yesterday. Will take a photo next time - it needs some tweaks Wink
Boring today:
B: Porridge 190
L: Poached egg & 2 slices bread & WW bar, 400
D: Sweet n sour turkey 460

I started week 1 day 1 of c25k this evening - yay! I'm prob running far too slow (only about 7km/h) but didn't get sore chest/lungs phew, just slightly tired legs. ####Sorry but TMI alert#### Not sure if this has happened to anyone else (or a warning if it could) but my mooncup slipped once I started jogging. Didn't want to interrupt my momentum so stuck it out but Not.Pleasant - had very sore bits for 30 minutes - and some leakage - euw. Lesson learned for Friday.

Hopefully good luck tomorrow!!! My motto is always prepare for the worst and hope for the best. So worst case, even if you have gained a little, you will lose it again in a week or two no bother!! Calorie counting is incredibly difficult when you're out and about - so try not to be hard on yourself. If you can't indulge when you're on holibobs when can you! Also - you can do a headstand so you are wonder woman as far as I'm concerned Star

Hopefully · 11/08/2016 05:29

10st 10lb. Up from 10st 6.6lb on Saturday. I'm reckoning 1.5-2lb is pure bloat, which will be gone in a couple of days, so probably looking at 1.5-2lb that is actually going to require effort to lose. I am of course sulking, but it could have been worse I suppose.

Back onto MFP logging and proper exercise from today onwards!

shortaris1 · 11/08/2016 07:50

Yep, onwards and upwards Hopefully, you'll shift a few lb's in no time!

Fast went well yesterday and have done Body Attack, Body Combat and a weights session so far this week. More combat tonight.

Dawhead well done on starting C25K. No periods at all here (Yas!) since I went on the mini pill so no idea about that but sounds painful.

Sesame I did bikram yoga last year and it was fab but sore and sweaty. I'm planning to go back after holidays next week.

Go on Loli you can do it.

I finish up at work for holidays tomorrow. Really looking forward to it, this weather is grim.

MustBeThin · 11/08/2016 08:00

Love the mat Loli Star Well done on the loss Daw Star

I'm getting pretty bloody fed up Angry dropped to 10st 9 on the 1st of August and since then I've bounced around between 10st 9 - 11 I have gone longer than this without losing, can go over 2 weeks now but it's frustrating not seeing it just settle on 10st 9 for more than 2 days at a time. Off out for lunch today too.

SesameSparkle · 11/08/2016 16:53

hopefully I can’t do a headstand or a backbend, so go you! Sorry about the weigh in. Flowers At least you can put it down to enjoying your holiday, and I’m sure the renewed focus will help things.

loli confetti is the congratulations screen which mfp show you when you reach a certain percentage of your goal. My goal was a relatively modest one. And since I’ve gone past it, I’ve been getting confetti with every extra pound I’ve lost.

dawhead thanks. Well done on the 2lb loss. That’s great news. And good on you for starting C25K too. Keep on logging everything with us and we can keep cheering you along. Smile

short I’m impressed with all that exercise. Yay for finishing up for the holidays!

must my weight bounces around like that all the time and I hate it too. Flowers I just put it down to the daily fluctuations and tend not to log anything until my weight drops back down again. Keep hanging in there!

As for me, the scales this morning showed another lb off since yesterday! Grin So I’m now 10st 6lb! That makes my BMI 25 and a healthy weight for the first ever time in my adult life! Grin I never ever thought I would see the day. My intention is not to lose much more than this - I’m terrified of gaining again, so I would really like to hit a realistic weight I will be able to maintain. But for now, I’m on a 120 day straight with mfp. If I am able to manage another 2lb off, that would make it a nice round 2st loss. I think I might focus on that milestone for right now and then see what happens.

MsColouring · 12/08/2016 10:41

Hi all and welcome newbies.

I haven't posted for a while with holidays etc. I have decided to concentrate on maintaining for the next couple of months as I only want to lose about another 4lbs anyway and I do best with routine and right now I'm completely out of routine with the school holidays and then starting the new job in September.

So focusing on the positives - maintained weight whilst in Devon despite giving in to a few treats. Trying to run on the very hilly paths was amusing! My kids have now gone to stay with their dad for two weeks which is getting me down. But... In the past I would have dealt with this by curling up on the sofa with kettle chips and chocolate and watching Netflix and then feeling crap about myself. This time I am dealing with it with lots of running and walking and am being fairly productive on sorting my tip of a house out. So feeling myself healthier lifestyle is definitely improving more than just my size.

Also, had a sort out of my clothes the other day and have got rid of any clothes that are size 14 or above so there's no going back.

Dawhead - well done on starting c25k - don't worry about your speed, that can come later. I can honestly say doing c25k has changed my life.

Fitterbysixty · 12/08/2016 11:54

I'd like some MFP confetti - I should have set a smaller goal.

I woke up to a 2lb weight gain earlier this week, it made me grumpy all day as I couldn't point to a cause. I've been entering my weight into Libra and that shows the trend so it's a smoother line than the zigzag you get from frequent weighing. It also tells you when you will meet your goal if you carry on with your current weight loss.

I need to be on my feet and exercising by 8am to make sure that it's happening that day. I'm telling myself that it will be easier once I get back to the school routine.

Lolimax · 12/08/2016 13:22

I think I pulled a muscle in my groin (ouch ouch) this week so there's no way I could make swimming last night. Instead I caught up with the ironing and sorted out the clothes that are already too big for me (size 18's) and dumped them up the attic. I'm gutted I can't shift the 2lbs that means the 2 stone loss (I didn't find MFP until I'd already started my diet) but hopefully this time next week!

Hopefully · 13/08/2016 12:01

Had lost all of 0.5lb when I weighed yesterday, and now away from home for another couple of days. Trying to exercise plenty and eat well, but it's always tricky when camping as everyone is drinking and eating treats! Have just done an hour's yoga while DH took the DCs off though.

MustBeThin · 13/08/2016 12:32

10st 11 again this morning. Pretty sick of bouncing between 10st 9 and 10st 11. Sad

Chippy for tea too so definitely won't be 10st 9 again tomorrow lol.

Good news though, I bought a new shirt in size 10 Grin I can't even remember the last time I was a 10 on top, probably when I was a teenager.

DawheadAwgusEeentock · 14/08/2016 20:30

Gosh was it really Wednesday since I last posted.....

Aw hopefully that wasn't bad at all - all things considered - and to lose 0.5 lb in 2 days is amazing! Camping sounds so much fun! But yes it is very hard to keep track when away - if you can be strict for a week once you're home though the rest will fall off!

shortaris that is a brilliant amount of exercise - have a fantastic holiday!!

Aw thanks must and if this thread has thought me anything - it's that everyone gets a 'whoosh' after having a few weeks of no movement - so you are due one soon Flowers. But swit swoo a size 10 - that is fantastic! I was briefly a size 10 about 15 years ago - I think I still have some of the tops in my wardrobe all the time expecting to fit in them any year now Halo

Sesame thanks and Huge Congrats on BMI = 25 Star. That is a brilliant achievement - YAY. Please tell me what a healthy weight feels like Grin. I am so gobsmacked at 120 days of logging on MFP - how do you do it if you're away/eating out??!!! I agree 2 more lbs sounds like a great target and then you will have to keep us updated on what it's like to maintain.

Thanks MsColouring and well done on all your achievement - yours is another example of the kind of post I hope I'll be writing in the future. It is so wonderful to hear the extra benefits of doing this - emotional especially. I can definitely understand trying to make myself feel better with food.

Hi fitter that Libra app sounds really good - I have never heard of it but will download it. And yes, I am another person that needs routine to make this work better.

Good luck this week loli and can empathise with the ouchy areas. And ironing definitely counts as exercise Grin.

Soooo...mixed few days for me. First, my 'accident' on Wednesday was much worse than I realised so I've had a few sore days. Thank God for Vaseline is all I can say. Felt very down in the dumps on Thursday - and I'm completely an emotional eater - so went off plan for dinner and ended up having almost 1800 cals that day. Friday was a soup day but met a friend for coffee and ended up having a scone which pushed me over plan again. Then yesterday tried to get back on plan (< 1000 cals) and did Friday's missed C25K (yay) but today's been slightly bad again as I've had dinner at my Mum's which involves lots of pudding & biscuits - resisted better than usual but went to 1330 putting my weekly average so far at 1350, compared to 1100 last week. Going to have one more soup day but not optimistic about weigh-in day on Wednesday already. How can I be losing my discipline so badly when it's only my second week Sad

Hopefully · 15/08/2016 05:29

Inching down from last week's holiday indulgence - 10st 9lb this morning. Still 2.5lb heavier than when we went away, but hopefully it will go over the next couple of weeks.

Dawhead don't be too harsh on yourself - I often take a few weeks to get into the swing of dieting, then I have a few good weeks, then something throws me off a bit, then I get back into it again. My rule of thumb is that each 'bad' stage has to stop before I put back all the weight from the previous 'good' stage, so even if each good bit only results in a net loss of a pound or something, the general trend is still downwards.

mustbe well done on the size 10!

StewardsEnquiry · 15/08/2016 08:22
SesameSparkle · 15/08/2016 14:12

MsC well done for maintaining on holiday and for all the running. I’ve also been trying to clear out my clothes, though I do find it really hard not to hold on to them ‘just in case’…. Hmm

fitter sorry about the gain. Hopefully it’s just a bit of water weight hanging about and it will soon be off again.

loli hope you are feeling better after the weekend? And well done for ditching the size 18s! Smile

hopefully did you have a nice time camping? Hoping you continue to see some more results once you get back to normal.

must well done on the size 10 shirt! Grin I now have all of 2 items in a 10, one is a vanity sized seasalt sweater, and the other an ‘oversized’ silk shirt which fits as ‘normal sized’ on me. The rest of the time I’m still a 12 to 14.

dawhead a ‘healthy weight’ feels exactly the same as all the other weights I’ve ever been on the inside. It’s just my measurements that say different. I’m on more calories than the average mfp-er (set on half a pound a week), so that helps a lot with being able to eat more normally. Also at weekends or when I’m away, I’m busier and tend to snack a lot less. And my mealtimes might also look different, e.g. skipping breakie and going straight to brunch – which can save a few calories although I have been known to order a 1000kcal veggie breakfast. This, plus a weekend run, usually means I’ve enough calories for a cake or a nice meal on some days – although I do still try to make sensible choices where I can. I’m also relatively comfortable exceeding my allowance up to a couple of hundred calories (somewhere around the 1800 mark), if the rest of time I’m on track.

stewards nice to meet you. Smile

So on Sunday my weight hit 10st5 helped along by a lie in and a little dehydration. I'm really pleased with that. Grin. 1lb to go and I will have had a 2st loss. I am thinking about trying to take my weight down to a nice round 10st, which would take my BMI to 24. I couldn’t imagine ever being ‘9 something’, and I really want to find a weight which I would be able to realistically maintain – I just couldn’t face gaining it all back again.
