Thank you gently and lost. It's a head of phase job so more responsibility.

No idea about the 16:9 thing - don't think I could live without breakfast.

MustBeThin · 29/05/2016 09:16

11st 3 today Grin

MsColouring · 30/05/2016 09:07

A slightly off the wagon weekend but not terrible. Was out Saturday eve with friends and had a Thai meal with a fair bit of wine. Put an estimate of the calories into mfp and was quite a lot. However, one thing I did do was stop eating when I was full - often I've had the mentality that I've paid for it so must eat it all. Yesterday went to my brother's and had a bbq - I mainly ate the halloumi and courgette kebabs and coleslaw and potato salad and didn't have any bread or crisps - so again, not exactly healthy but stopped myself going mad and eating for the sake of it.

Have been really tired over the weekend which I'd put down to exhaustion from a busy couple of weeks and hay fever but my glands are huge this morning and not feeling well. Was really hoping to complete my C25k today but don't think it's going to happen.

MrsPear · 31/05/2016 09:22

Morning all

Congrats on your promotion colouring!

Well despite not being as strict this week - had pear crumble with custard for example - I have lost another 1lb. I am now less than after ds2! Ok only just but less anyway.
So 10st 5 and around another stone and I will be what I was when I conceived him.

gentlydownthestreamm · 31/05/2016 09:32

64.6kg today! Feeling pleased. But out for cocktails tonight with friends so wonder how long it will last...

Congrats MrsPear!

Bathsheba3 · 31/05/2016 12:42

Hurray to MrsPear, gently & Must on losses - at to Colouring on the job-front. Perhaps extra stress & responsibilities will burn a few extra calories? Wink

I'm avoiding the scales, as I want to avoid the cycle of feeling I have failed if I haven't lost, and then reaching for the bad food.

So I'm trying to get myself into a positive mindset as regards food / portions etc, rather than put myself in a situation where I feel I am in denial. A bit like what you did at the weekend MrsColouring.

I know I'm not achieving any major weight-loss, but for me to keep off the sugar and snacks is a huge achievement in itself. One blip at the weekend, but I'm OK with that, and not going to feel like I've failed. I've upped my exercise and feeling less bloated.

May brave a weigh-in next week ....

KEEP GOING EVERYONE StarStarStar

MsColouring · 31/05/2016 13:08

Bathsheba, I read somewhere recently (might have been on the mfp blog) that in order to lose weight and keep it off, it is a good idea to set smaller goals and then work on maintaining that weight for a while before working towards the next goal. So your current approach might help you be more successful in the long run.

mixety · 01/06/2016 06:48

Sounds like you're doing fine Bathesheba, and have a sensible view on the whole thing.

64.3kg this morning Shock, seems I am in a 'massive unprecedented lose' phase which experience tells me will be followed by a phase of upswing and then bobbing up and down for a good while. So although I am really pleased I am not going to get carried away with setting my eyes on the 63s yet. Especially as I went way over calories yesterday (cocktails accompanied by a lot of bread and paté) and a weekend away staying with friends coming right up...

mixety · 01/06/2016 09:28

Oops, forgot I had name changed...

MsColouring · 01/06/2016 17:44

Just completed my last C25k run!

MustBeThin · 01/06/2016 21:55

Hello everyone Grin bloody scales are getting on my nerves so I kept going up and down 11st 5 - 11st 4 then I eventually dropped to 11st 3 but now keep going up and down between .4 and .3 Hmm I am supposed to be stopping my pill tomorrow so it's probably TOTM hormones messing with me but I'm off on holiday for 10 days next wk and I'm going to continue taking my pill through as I don't want TOTM but have no idea how this will effect the scales as I haven't done it since starting this diet. I'm also a little nervous about the fact that I will be eating out for EVERY meal for 10 days and I'll not be able to weigh myself. We usually go for a late breakfast early lunch and then have our main meal at night maybe a snack in between. I'm going to try to make some good choices but I'm not going to deprive myself from the odd pudding either. Grin alcohol isn't a problem as I'm not too bothered about it.

plumstone · 02/06/2016 08:52

Morning All, This is so monotonous!!! After a bank holiday weekend of too much pasta and Pimms and not nearly enough water - Scales this morning are 10.10 - Seriously how difficult is 10.7 - in the last two weeks I have seen every number from 10.8 to 10.13 WTAF!!!!!

Anywho - onwards and upwards and total focus!!!!!!

BitOutOfPractice · 07/06/2016 07:41

I realise I'm very late to the party but can I join in?

I've been using MFP and C25k for 3 weeks and I've lost 8.4lbs. Thrilled with that though I ideally have 4stone to lose Blush

MustBeThin · 07/06/2016 09:50

Welcome Practice and we'll done.

I'm on holiday now so no weighing myself Sad I am trying to make better choices but I'm not going to deprive myself if naughty stuff either. Smile

BitOutOfPractice · 07/06/2016 12:55

I was on holiday last week but only gained a pound and I've lost that and some since I got back.

We are eating a lot of Hairy Dieters recipes here because they are so tasty and decent portions. WE had steak with cheats bearnaise sauce last night and gosh it was lovely (are we allowed to post pics of food?). Fish crumble tonight (388 calories). I would really recommend their books

MFP to lose weight - Part 4
Mothersruin75 · 07/06/2016 13:47

Hello everyone!
Bit - that steak looks lovely. I've just bought the first hairy dieters book and made the cottage pie from it, it made loads, was very tasty and the kids loved it. I can't wait to try more. Which books do you have? What other recipes would you recommend?
Mustbe - have a fab hol. Are you somewhere lovely?
I've been mfping away, though had a night out on the prosecco for a friend's birthday and ended up being very sick and sleeping on the bathroom floor when I got home. DH found it very funny but didn't believe me when I said it must have been an off bottle :-o. I need to stick to a couple of glasses only while I'm doing this.

I'm now 11stone 11 so down from 13 stone when I joined this thread and at New Year I was 13 stone 12 so just over two stone gone. As I'm pretty short I've still got another 2 to go. Saw my parents at the weekend, hadn't seen them since March and they could really tell I'd lost weight so I was pretty chuffed. Plus I was wearing cropped trousers that I couldn't get over my thighs in Feb when I went on holiday. I'm very very happy with how it's going. My goal is to fit into my wedding dress by Christmas. I got married 8 years and 4 kids ago....

BitOutOfPractice · 07/06/2016 13:54

That's a brilliant goal mothers Grin

I can't wait for it to start showing on (or rather off) me

I have all of their diet books

I think the best recipe is the cod with chorizo crust, the chilli con carne, chicken and ham tangle pie and the chicken jalfrezi. I have to say though, I have cooked a lot of their recipes and they've never let me down once. I love those boys. And they look like they've kept their weight off too

BitOutOfPractice · 07/06/2016 13:54

I'm not on commission by the way

MsColouring · 07/06/2016 20:23

Hi bit.

We have the first hairy dieter cookbook - I am veggie so not much in there for me but lots dh wants to try. I have made the minestrone soup and that's it.

Had more of my tattoo done last week. Tattooist noticed the weight loss though I think it hurt more that I have lost weight. Still a little bit more to finish off. Looking forward to showing it off a bit when it's healed.

BitOutOfPractice · 07/06/2016 23:07

Ooooo what are you having done? Sorry if you've said before. I'm a newbie so you have to be nice to me Wink

gentlydownthestreamm · 08/06/2016 07:49

Welcome Bit. I love the HD cookbooks too, I have them all! Aside from those mentioned I like the chicken and mushroom risotto, crispy chicken, Thai beef salad and paprika chicken.

Well, I was visiting friends at the weekend so MFP went to pot. Did go on a run and do lots of walking though, but even so the excess food and drink put me over 65kg again. Body fat right down to 29% though, which is a new all time low!

It's going to be another tricky week for me: I have two friends having birthday dinners at restaurants this week and a BBQ at the weekend. I am just going to try as hard as possible to keep calories to a minimum inbetween all that, and fit in workouts and runs where possible. But I just can't bring myself to deprive myself at special occasions where everyone else is eating delicious food and wine with abandon!

I think 64kg is a way off for me yet...

MsColouring · 08/06/2016 13:46

Having a snow globe with butterflies swirling out Bit - all the way up my back.

Gently, I am feeling with social events I am just trying not to over eat and congratulating myself for doing that. If it means I maintain it is still better than putting weight on.

BitOutOfPractice · 08/06/2016 19:56

Oh that sounds lovely MsC

*gently I think we all need to shake off the shakles occasionally. The trick is to get back to it afterwards

Bathsheba3 · 09/06/2016 17:34

Huge well done Mothersruin - you have done brilliantly this year. If you stick with it, at the same pace, you will be that extra 2 stone down by your wedding / Christmas. What a great goal!

Happy hols Mustbe. Too right not to worry. You have been so strong and consistent, even if you think the weight has come off slowly. Better come off slowly but consistently, than keep yo-yo'ing all over the place like me

I'm down 3 lbs in 10 days. Smile. At long last. The same 3 or 6 lbs that comes off then back on. My diet has been very vegetable-based this last week. Feeling rather bloated tbh. Waiting for a big whoosh at some stage, and that'll be at least another 1 lb wishful thinking
