New thread, ladies Smile

Well done stop that's really goos weight loss, especially when you're not so active at the moment. Hope ribs heal soon and you can get back to your bed and enjoy weekend away.

I feels much better for not eating anything with sugar in. When I do get a craving it'll be tiredness/mood related, definitely not hunger. Meal out last night and was surrounded by people eating hot fudge sundaes and other chocoaltey creamy concoctions. A full length mirror in the ladies was a useful reminder of why I am avoiding desserts.

Did a 5 hour strenuous walk on Sunday , which was great. Wouldn't even have considered it last year. Stiff from it yesterday but have gently walked that off.

Clearskies99 · 17/02/2016 21:07

Hey where has everyone gone?! There were so many people posting on here a while back and it's gone very quiet? Are most people just using the facebook page that got set up?

Wondering how everyone else is getting on and what your scales said this week?

Hitting a blockage here (again). Not eating crap just eating a bit too much. So frustrating. Know if I can keep a little edge of hunger/ not fullness I lose weight but get to the end of the day and find again that I feel a bit overfull. Rats Rats Rats

FattyNinjaOwl · 17/02/2016 23:27

I'm still here. Just finding it a bit difficult to get on MN at the minute. I don't have much time this week as I'm trekking here there and everywhere. I should be sleeping as I need to be out of the house early tomorrow to take my brother to the orthodontist, but the baby is up so I'm on the interweb.

ToeTouching · 18/02/2016 09:10

Still here - chucking the thread each day (I'm not on Facebook) but only posting if I have something new to say.

I've settled into a regular pattern now - logging everything on MFP, regular brisk walks, challenging myself with Fitbit goals and losing each week so far.

Nearly had a blip one day last week when working from home and felt the urge to mooch around the kitchen for something 'nice' but managed to avert any damage by eating a yoghurt (my life is so rock and roll!).

MustBeThin · 18/02/2016 10:35

I'm here, 13lb so far this year Grin

Clearskies99 · 18/02/2016 22:44

That's good going Must and Toe and well done for avoiding the blip last week. Hope all the trekking around is helping your fitness FNJ

Still think I need to eat a bit less, ideally not snacks between meals works well for me. That said have put on some jeans today that were too tight and now are actually a bit on the loose side so that first stone lost has made some significant difference Smile Smile.

I think that at the slightest blip I just panic that I'm going to fail (again). But maybe not this time, here's hoping I can make and sustain the changes I so badly need. And the same for all of you fellow 'losers'!

Been reading the 5:2 threads - there's alot of very interesting and inspiring stuff on there. Am seriously considering weaving that into what I am doing.

stopfaffing · 19/02/2016 19:54

I'm still here too. Ribs nearly back to normal so I am going to start my Cto5K again on Monday.

Eating is ok I think. Worried I'm not eating enough (if not that, worried I am eating too much Hmm), Can't win.

Settled into a routine (like you Toe), which is good, but tomorrow off to hotel for Spa weekend Grin and going to a concert in the evening. Last time we were at this hotel for a Spa break (earlier in January) I made good choices and kept off the rather yummy shortcake biccies and speciality coffees freely on offer (I remember I posted a pic of the enormous jars of biscuits). I intend to do the same this time.

I reckon I will be fine as long as I don't eat a single biscuit. It is the kind of thing that might set me off Sad.

Fatty is the interweb like the internet? Blush

FattyNinjaOwl · 19/02/2016 20:21

stop interweb is the internet, I'm just weird and don't use real names for things.

I've been bad these last couple of days. Not too worried, I will just have to be extra good over the weekend. I've learnt there's no point in beating myself up if I go slightly off track, it's better just to accept it and get back on.

Clearskies99 · 22/02/2016 08:33

Well thanks to tip from broken I read lots and lots of the information and inspiring stories on the MN 5;2 threads last week and launched into a first 'fast day' last Friday and the pounds have been dropping off. 4lb down since middle of last week and although it's early days follwing an actual 'diet' of calorie counting 2 'fast' days a week it feels like it could be a really good approach for me.

Still walking loads which I'm loving Smile and keep having to tighten my belt another notch.

Good luck with restarting Cto5k stop

Have a good week everyone and hope weighins go OK

ToeTouching · 22/02/2016 22:49

Glad you've found something that's working for you Clear.

Another 2lbs off this week - that's 20lbs in 7 wks.

Hope everyone else has had a good week - here's to week 8.

stopfaffing · 26/02/2016 07:51

I started back on to the Cto5K this week after allowing my ribs to heal sufficiently after tripping a couple of weeks ago. Was doing week 4 earlier this morning and was four minutes into my first five minute jog when I felt a snap in my foot Shock. Something 'went' underneath between ball and instep. Bum! Had to stop and walk (limp) home.

I will have to think of something else to do instead, preferably taking half an hour, that I can do straight from the home or in the home. I thought about a thread I'd read a while back that talked about youtube video workouts that you could do in a small space. That might be an idea.

Swimming requires driving, changing, swimming, changing, driving. A faff, and swimming is boring too (it is the way I do it).

Clearskies99 · 26/02/2016 08:09

oh no poor you. Am just dashing out but will be back on later stop. Huge sympathy - I've had endles injuries while trying to push further while overweight and it is sooo frustrating. Sticking to walking at the moment

Have you got an ice pack to put on it? or frozen peas?

Clearskies99 · 26/02/2016 15:46

I had something similar happen Stop on first brisker walk (ie going up onto ball of my foot more with a spring in my step) I did on tarmac before Xmas - I rested it for a week or so then ever since have done gentler walks (v gradually building pace) and on grass/earth rather than pavement pounding.

Hope yours recovers soon Stop

Update here; a week into following the 5;2 approach and I seem to have without any particular effort lost 10lb and gone from size 18 to 16 jeans - hooray! Have thrown out all size 18 jeans now Smile Smile

stopfaffing · 26/02/2016 19:28

Thanks Clearskies Smile.

Great news about throwing out all your size 18s.

A colleague at work has been losing weight since early last year and is now a 16/14. Today she gave me her size 18 dresses (four) really dressy and lovely and they all fit very comfortably! That's me down from a size 24 to an 18. Very pleased.

I will rest the foot as much as I can in the evenings and see how I go. Perhaps start week 4 of the Cto5K next Friday? Not promising though.

Clearskies99 · 27/02/2016 07:00

Congratulations Stop. it's such a good feeling isn't it, each dropping of a dress size.

Take it easy with your foot

ToeTouching · 07/03/2016 08:48

Where's everyone gone?

Have you all shrunk so much you've disappeared? Smile

I'm checking in to say that as at today's weigh in I'm 25lbs down.

Still sticking to MFP and regular brisk walking. Looking forward to the lighter evenings and eyeing up the bike that I haven't ridden for about 10 years.

Anyone else with an update?

Clearskies99 · 07/03/2016 09:59

Was wondering the same myself Toe. Thread seems to have faded away more or less....are most people just doing the facebook thing now maybe? (don't do FB myself). Wonder how Ark and all the others are getting on....

Well done Toe on your 25lb down. I am 25lb down too since start of January here and using the 5:2 approach is working very well for me.

Brisk walking is at least once a day, even if it's dark, just gotta get out there and miss it if I don't do it. And I too am eyeing up my bike, even gave it a bit of WD-40 the other day.

Roll on spring! Smile
