Morning! Grumpy bitch here Grin

lego Thank you.

twinkle your menu looks good. The Persian restaurant sounds yummy, and well done or eating light in the evening.

Right, I am on my new, temporary regime. It's a combination of fasting principles and hazel's list.

2l water every day
No snacking apart from fruit/ veg
Weekdays - skip breakfast and lunch, eat normal dinner.
Some exercise each day
No alcohol in the week (cheating as I don't really drink anyway - Envy)
Moisturise hands at least twice a day.

What would I do without you lot?

O&D FRs

SixPackWellies · 31/08/2013 09:15

Morning everyone.

Thanks twinkle and Baking.

Hope everyone is okay this morning. Sorry for being awol. I could not sleep Thursday night, so woke up and got up at 2 am and read all night and yesterday was catatonic.

hazel some of those goals will be good for me too.

10 stone 7.4, so a loss of 1.2 pounds this week. I am okay with that.Whittle whittle. :)

me today:

Bk- leftover roast chicken thigh
L- tuna mayo sandwich with salad veg and a pear
D- out tonight to my favourite restaurant. I am so going to enjoy myself!

My GP has been suggesting the mirena coil for me too, but I have been reluctant. Mainly because i had a traumatic birth with DC3 and have developed a phobia about anyone (except DH!) going anywhere near my nether regions! Grin

from Hazel's list i am going to;

  1. Exfoliate twice a week
  2. Start using electric toothbrush again and go to the dentist before Christmas
  3. Full face cleansing regime every morning and every night
  4. No alcohol during the week
10. Take vitamins daily 11. Moisturise daily 14. Drink more water 15. Moisturise hands at least twice a day 17. Get rid of shapeless clothes, clothes I?ll never wear and shoes I?ll no longer wear 18. Accessorise outfits with jewellery, scarves, belts, etc 20. Learn how to do make up to properly suit my face

Off to do water and vitamins now. :)

OP posts:
Therealamandaclarke · 31/08/2013 09:35

Hey sixpack. Sorry about your sleepless night.
I'm going to ask for a copper coil, as I had that before without problems. I really hope they don't make me wait, I'm ready to kill DH. He is annoying but whati'm feeling is not normal.
It's true that Mirena is great for some ppl though.

Oh, and yy to vitamins, chucking out crap (watch out DH) and exfoliating.
I use an electric toothbrush.
I really should visit the dentist, and he optician, but those two are going to be bloody expensive Sad

Bakingnovice · 31/08/2013 10:17

Hi everyone. Love the new regime. I need to go back to my electric toothbrush.

I missed the park run today. Was feeling a bit low. But now feel low cos I didn't do it. I'm going to miss breakfast and then have eggs on toast for lunch. Off to a BBQ tonight and will run tmrw. Is anyone else feeling a bit angsty about the kids going back to school?

Wellies - hope you sleep better today.

Hazelbrowneyes · 31/08/2013 10:28

Amanda Drifters are YUM. Biscuit wafer, covered in caramel, covered in chocolate. Terrible for dieting.

I think you need to let your doctor know exactly how the Mirena is making you feel and insist on it being removed asap. You can?t continue like this. Big hugs x
Dentist ? yes, mine is expensive which is why I?m putting it off. I know I?ve got some issues and DH really, really needs to go (he hasn?t been since 2009 and I haven?t been since January). I think we?re just going to have to bite the bullet and go.

Optician ? Vision Express currently have free eyetest if you end up spending over £99 ? sounds like a con but the eyetest is £25. I think that runs out next week though. They also have 2 for 1 on their Guess range of glasses, which is what I went for. I ended up with 2 pairs of glasses, one with polarising lenses for £219. A lot of money but I at least have 2 pairs of glasses for when I break one pair

Lego Amazing news about the jeans! Yay! Sounds like you definitely need a rest though, you poor thing. Good luck for WI, sounds like it?ll be a good one! xx

Twinkle Persian menu sounds delicious! Your menu was very controlled yesterday, well done! Xx

Wellies Enjoy the restaurant tonight! Ah I love how you?re all joining me with the ?list? Grin much easier when there is a group support around! xx

Baking ((hugs)) Hope you're feeling better soon xx

Yesterday:
B ? none
L ? cheese and onion roll (not a small one either)
D ? scampi, chips and peas. DH did the scampi and chips in the deepfat fryer Blush
S ? mini cheddars, drifter, 1 glass of wine, 4 gins (eek!)

Had a lovely evening in the pub with friends. I?ve always felt like one of the women didn?t really like me but last night we had a really good laugh and I didn?t feel patronised by her. Had a long chat with one of my ?fitness freak? friends and he?s convinced me I need to exercise. Actually his exact words were ?Stop bloody moaning, stop eating shit and shift your arse occasionally? Grin

So rather than do my ?Oh I?ll start Monday?, I?m actually starting today. No breakfast, and this afternoon I will exercise and potentially start getting rid of crap. I can?t do my whole list of 20 things every day so today I?m going for

  1. Diet coke/coke ? none
  2. Full face cleansing regime every morning and every night
  3. Paint nails
  4. Exercise daily, even if it?s just some squats, crunches or weights
10. Take vitamins daily - Done 11. Moisturise daily 12. 15 minutes time out, 3 days a week (Eye pads on, soothing music, work on breathing as stress relief) 14. Drink more water 15. Moisturise hands at least twice a day 17. Get rid of shapeless clothes, clothes I?ll never wear and shoes I?ll no longer wear (actually I?m going to change this one for this weekend to ?get rid of any crap laying around the house) Oh and my pedometer battery has just arrived so I?ll calculate my steps today too!

twinklestar2 · 31/08/2013 12:34

I think it's good to have a set of rules to fall back on, I find it really helps, ie, I only allow myself one fizzy drink a week (if that), swap at least one hot drink a day for a herbal tea, etc.

It helps to focus the mind.

Funny about the electric toothbrush, I promised myself from the start of last week I would brush my teeth morning AND night. Am ashamed to say I fell out of the routine of brushing them at night Blush.

twinklestar2 · 02/09/2013 09:12

I'm so annoyed with myself. I seem to do good during the week and destroy all my hard work at the weekends grrrrrrr.

Must try harder this week.

Menu:

Muesli, sprinkles, SS milk

Something in a wrap with salad for lunch

Noodle soup for dinner

Fruit and yoghury

Therealamandaclarke · 02/09/2013 09:41

baking Thanks

hazel Drifters do sound delish.mmmmm.

twinkle if you are "good" during the week, you'll still lose wt and get health benefits with a bit of weekend naughtiness. Today's menu looks great. Really controlled but nourishing.

sixpack well done. I've pinched some of hazel's list too .

So I'm still feeling a bit low but trying to work around it,not let it take over. . My current regime:

  1. No bf or lunch in the week.
2 Exercise daily (even squats etc)
  1. Electric toothbrush and flossing. (pathetic really, as I should do this anyway)
  2. 2l water a day (zing's "water challenge")
  3. Hand cream twice a day.
  4. Vitamins (easy, as i take the "nhs" ones anyway)
  5. Get rid of unwanted clothes
  6. Write my CV
  7. Drink a glass of wine at the weekend (does that count?)
10. Sort out childcare/ return to work.

So, some of that is more about taking control rather than "princessing" but as twinkle says, I think a list really helps.

Number 8 will become interchangeable for up and coming projects (long list)

I already feel better (more in control) for not eating bf this morning.
I've done a little exercise (20 squates, 40 push ups, 50 abs- not much, I know) on both Saturday and Sunday. And yesterday I had a glass of wine Grin
I called my boss this morning to request some KIT days/ study day stuff.
(whittle, whittle as sixpack says)

O&D FRs.

twinklestar2 · 02/09/2013 09:51

I do eat really well and healthy during the week but weekend plans make it all go out the window!! I need to stay in till I lost a stone lol

My hub and I have given up drinking in preparation for the next round of IVF.

List looks good :)

Hazelbrowneyes · 02/09/2013 09:56

Morning

twinkle weekends get me too.

My list sort of got ignored this weekend Blush We went shopping on Saturday afternoon and then pretty much straight to inlaws for a takeaway (DOH). Yesterday we spent most of the day gardening.

Pedometer arrived ? 6000 steps on Saturday (from 10.30), 3500 yesterday (from 10.30) as was cutting up all the branches, etc in to manageable pieces so was stood still for a lot of the time. Have done 934 steps so far today.

Food? Blush
Saturday:
B ? none
L ? didn?t eat until 3pm but went to Ask and had bread and olives to start followed by fettucine with peas, beans, olive tapenade, etc. Was lovely but filling.
D ? of course, wasn?t that hungry by 7pm but DH and I shared a chicken tikka chilli massala with pilau rice, garlic naan (which we only had half of), tarka dal and a poppadum each.
S ? no snacks just wine?

Sunday:
B ? eggy bread Blush
L ? cheese and cucumber sandwich
D ? lamb shank with mashed potato, carrots, green beans and lots of lovely red wine gravy
S ? mini milk lolly, 3 glasses of wine

I?ve woken up both Sunday and today hungry and I?m sure that?s due to carb overload.

Today:
B ? none but I?m not sure how much longer I can go without food!
L ? pasta with sweetcorn, cucumber and tomato
D ? either chilli or something with chicken

Amanda your list looks great!

My list for this week:

  1. Drink 1l of water (I have to start slow) a day
  2. Actually do some work
  3. Walk at least 5000 steps (desk job, I don?t get up much!) a day
  4. Exercise in some form for at least 10 mins a day
  5. Shape and paint nails
  6. No alcohol until Friday
  7. Moisturise daily, inc hands
  8. Continue with face cleaning routine
  9. Chuck out old nail varnish
10. Make a hit list for the house ? what needs doing, when does it need doing by, etc.
Therealamandaclarke · 02/09/2013 09:57

I think as long as you're not eating 2 large deep pan pizzas for lunch then a bit of weekend indulgence can be offset by your healthy week tbh.

Much as I like a glass of wine, I'm much better offnot drinking as a rule.
Feel lots better without it tbh (recent weeks of feeling crap are v unusual)
Thanks twinkle

SixPackWellies · 02/09/2013 10:20

Morning all. Sorry you are feeling low Amanda. Thanks

Best of luck with the next round of ivf Twinkle.

Nothing to report here really. I just ate according to my will (i.e. overate).

Back on today.

B- Weetabix, soy milk and honey
L- sandwich and a pear
D- I have had a craving lately for homemade steak and kidney pie. So that with honeyed carrots, green beans and mash.
No alcohol. Just water and herbal teas.

Like the idea of a hit list for the house. I might do that too!

O&D FR!

I can maintain weight if I am healthy in the week and bad at weekends but I need to lose the weight first ;)

Came into work early today so can leave early and go to the gym without it affecting my soap watching Grin

Therealamandaclarke · 02/09/2013 14:47

Grin fair enough twinkle
Hmmm. Maybe one day of splurge rather than two would sort that out.
Enjoy the gym

RubyGoat · 02/09/2013 23:41

Amanda your 'little' exercise is more than I can manage. I did some sit-ups today for the first time in years. Literally. Managed 50, with rests in the middle, nearly died. I remember thinking how disciplined you were, just weeks after you had your baby, doing loads of exercise & I'd still not started any, with a 9 month old. I'm sure once you get sorted out you will be back to normal really quickly.

Twinkle I either go one way or the other with weekends - I got bored & graze all bloody day, or I forget to eat (or drink). DH is the same. We regularly used to get to Saturday evening & realise we'd eaten nothing all day. Then we'd have no breakfast on Sunday, roast lunch, & nothing in the evening.

Anyway. I weighed myself this morning. Am now 9st 7.5lb. So I've lost 3 stone! I reckon I've got between half and one stone to go. I was 8.7 before I got PG but I'm already in better shape than I was then, except my stomach muscles which have given up entirely. I'd like to be able to get into some of my pre PG clothes (as I can't afford a whole new wardrobe & don't like my wobbly tummy) so I'm going to try & lose at least another half stone.

I'm also working on my list. You will see what a thoroughly lazy mare I am when (if) I finish it & can manage to write it all down on my phone. It will undoubtedly involve going to bed earlier though.

On that note I'm going to bed.

O&D FRs

Therealamandaclarke · 03/09/2013 08:59

wellis how was that pie?

lego you are very much not lazy. I'm amazed by how much you do. I'm not yet back at work so although I feel like life is full- on, I know it will get tougher Grin and you have your allotment!
Well done on your abs exercises. It's ridiculous how stiff and uncomfortable I've become but I'm hoping a little exercise will help.

So yesterday I stuck to my list. Except I snacked on 3 biscuits after dinner Blush.
I even removed and replaced my toenail polish. It felt like a mammoth effort Grin after I'd had my shower I just wanted to lay down.
Today I have to start writing my CV.

Therealamandaclarke · 03/09/2013 09:00

3 stone lego that's terrific! Well done you.

Hazelbrowneyes · 03/09/2013 09:29

Morning!

Lego Well done! That?s a fantastic achievement x

Well done on painting your toe nails Amanda Grin It really can take such a big effort to do it sometimes!

Me? Oh lets just say I?m pretty much ignoring my list.

My list for this week:

  1. Drink 1l of water (I have to start slow) a day ? not yesterday
  2. Actually do some work - not yesterday
  3. Walk at least 5000 steps (desk job, I don?t get up much!) a day ? not yesterday
  4. Exercise in some form for at least 10 mins a day ? not yesterday
  5. Shape and paint nails ? not yesterday
  6. No alcohol until Friday ? not yesterday
  7. Moisturise daily, inc hands ? not yesterday
  8. Continue with face cleaning routine ? YES! I did this!
  9. Chuck out old nail varnish ? not yesterday
10. Make a hit list for the house ? what needs doing, when does it need doing by, etc. ? not yesterday Blush

Picked up glasses yesterday. Traffic was bad so immediately went to the pub for a large glass of wine. Got home and went to local pub for 2 gins before dinner.

B ? none
L ? pasta with sweetcorn, cucumber and tomato
D ? chilli with rice
S ? mini cheddars, diet coke (DOH), oh and a bag of S&V crisps.

Today:
B ? cereal bar
L ? probably a mugshot
D ? fajitas
I?m hoping to resist the snacks. I won?t drink tonight.

I appear to be maintaining (luck more than anything I think) but I?d really like to lose 3lbs in next 10 days. I think that?ll call for drastic action.

Therealamandaclarke · 03/09/2013 20:58

Well done for maintaining hazelbrowneyes

Ok. Now for the walk of shame.
Good stuff first.
I managed to avoid food until 11 am.
Did a little exercise
Drank 1.5l water.
Dental care and hand care done.
CV started (omg! That is not going to be fun to finish)

Aaaaaaaand the bad.

Food intake: (warning. Shocking content driven by phenomenal cravings): fruit &fibre, 1 apple, 3 (yes, 3!!!) bags hula hoops Blush, 1 bar of lidl's own snickers, 1 chocolate biscuit, tagliatelle with pesto, 2 slices garlic bread, salad, large portion of chocolate ie cream.

Feel rubbish. I'm eating my way back to where I was. Not happy.
Tomorrow I must fast. I must. It's soooo hard not to eat ATM.

O&D FRs.

RubyGoat · 03/09/2013 22:00

Thanks everyone you're so lovely. Blush

Amanda you are being so hard on yourself.

DH had his first day at college today, it seems to have gone ok. Smile

I'm trying to do my list now. It's really hard!

SixPackWellies · 04/09/2013 06:57

THREE STONE LEGO!!!!!

Flipping heck woman. That is incredible!

The pie was delicious Amanda thanks, but I felt very heavy afterwards!

Did not post yesterday- was out with the DCs all day. This was what I had;

B- nothing
L- 1 and half egg mayo sandwiches, 1 chocolate bar, grapes
D- 1 chilli chicken wrap (homemade), 1 strongbow

Today: Mantra 'eat like a normal person'

B- cereal and fruit
L- salad sandwich with sliced boiled egg (no mayo) and orange and some grapes
D- tossing up between a veg homemade curry or making a thai green tofu curry out of a jar over rice. I am feeling idle.

Exercise- um. Way back when I was 9 stone I used to do ten leg squats and 10 star jumps every time I went to the loo. I had thighs of steel. Maybe that.

OP posts:
SixPackWellies · 04/09/2013 06:58

Oh... and my personal goal0- I have slipped into allowing myself to look slovenly. I shall pay attention to my appearance. Later I will come back (after shower) and bore you with my regime is that is okay. :)

OP posts:
SixPackWellies · 04/09/2013 07:25

Okay,

had shower. Have dried hair. Have moisturised everything in sight (except cat).

Am wearing khaki linen skirt, white shirt, turquoise necklace, wooden bangles.

Big difference to the usual jeans and dirty t-shirt. I think I have fit the definition of someone who has 'let themselves go' as much as I hate that phrase when applied to women. But no more. Healthy, revolutionary and Gorgeous!!!!
