OMG wrong day to wear trousers to work. Not even 9am and my office is like an oven. Got a Very Important Client in this morning so I've been cleaning the office & shop. Totally forgot he was in today otherwise I'd have worn something a bit smarter. As it is, black trousers and a blue jersey top will have to do.

Jumped on the scales this morning, another lb on. Sad

Yesterday:
B ? Pain au chocolat
L ? Feta salad with silverskin onions
D ? Steak and salad
S ? Low fat crisps, a handful of Doritos with dip, ice cream in wafer, 2 glasses of wine.

So, not exactly a massive surprise as to why I?m putting on weight.

Today:
B ? none
L ? Feta salad with silverskin onions on the side.
D ? Salad and picky bits ? we?ve got a load of prosciutto, mozzarella, etc left over so I?d imagine we?ll just have that
S ? I have hard boiled egg, low fat crisps, breakfast bar and chocolate mousse at work. I?m not going to eat all of that (I hope!)

Lovely member of staff has brought in ice creams. Apparently he chose a pack of 4 chocolate button ice creams because there are 4 of us so we can have one each. Great. He KNOWS I?m on a diet. He did also bring in mini milks though so I could have a low fat treat too. Got to love my staff really!

I?m seeing my life coach today. Overall I?m quite happy at the moment so I think I?ll concentrate on how to work with my eating habits, my perception of how I look (major issues with this still) and how to kick the booze. I will sneakily talk to him about DHs drinking too, although I think I?m going to revert back to my previous stance of not mentioning it at all (I?m currently on nag mode) as that had a reasonably good effect last time.

Wellies I didn?t see friend yesterday so didn?t get the info. I?ll try calling her later. As for Goodwood, I have no idea. I?ve got a few dresses in the wardrobe that currently do not fit but would work well. I am probably going to have to invest in a pair of wedge shoes which don?t kill my feet. I?m going shopping on Saturday so I might just buy something new. Well done on having beef fajitas without the tortilla ? not something I?ve ever managed!

Emily boo to not having bacon & eggs. That is quite possibly my favourite breakfast.

Baking Well done on the running!

Lego Congrats on your loss!

Right, must dash to life coach. O&DFRs!

SixPackWellies · 16/07/2013 14:07

Afternoon all. Nothing to report, just checking in.

Life coach sounds good Hazel.

Running sounds amazing Baking!

Yeah on the loss Lego!

I am feeling bloated and fat. I ended up not eating last night at all, just drank 2 pints of cider. Hmm

Had my long awaited beef fajitas for lunch and will have a green juice for dinner. I am bored, with juicing Em you are right. But I just feel I have to do something as I caught sight of myself in a window yesterday in a summer frock I thought I looked good in .... and just looked like a bloated beachball. No wonder people keep asking if I am pg. :(

SixPackWellies · 17/07/2013 06:03

Morning FR, hope you are all well. Did not have green juice last night, could not be bothered having anything, so drank 2 big glasses of red instead. Hmm

I am trying for a whole day fast today.

The guests are being okay, in that I never see them. DH could not really delay his trip (although has shortened it by a day) and so they are out every night and get back after I am in bed. Fine by me, but rather proves the lie that they are here to see us... they clearly can't be bothered if DH is not around. They came back from wherever last night had a shower, and waved on the way out again saying they were going to a mutual friends place for a BBQ. It would have been nice to have been invited too, considering, but there you have it. [shrug]

So, they are here until Sunday. I had a long talk with DH last night and he agreed that actually they are taking the piss. I said that it was in a sense rather flattering that they clearly feel comfortable here and view it in some ways as their own fucking personal holiday home but that there was an expectation and sense of entitlement that I was finding quite difficult. DH agreed, and said that when they were all at university, there was an open door policy but he thought now, considering they are all in their 50s, it might be time to change that.

Oh well. At least it means I can do my juice fasts and get on with my life.

Where did everybody go??

Did I kill the thread?

No news here at all. Up a pound today Hmm so giving myself the day 'off' and back to it all tomorrow and will WI again Saturday.

How are all the FR's going?

Bakingnovice · 18/07/2013 14:29

I'm still here. Hating the weather. Routine all over the place. Can't be bothered with anything. Have been running but heels of feet are hurting so might have a few days off.

Your guests have got a bloody cheek. And you've got the patience of a saint!

Is everyone ok? Seriously I am
Sick of this weather.

Emilythornesbff · 19/07/2013 08:32

lego yay! Well done! Brilliant!

hazel I hope things went well with your life coach.

wellies grrrr at your guests. Let's see how the change in fasting goes. Good luck.

baking fear not. It'll be back to crappy weather soon Grin

Well. Shit! (self indulgent monologue alert! Feel free to ignore)

Forgot to weigh yesterday. So WI today: 8st 9Lb. Shit!
I knew it would be up because; a. My clothes didn't feel so loose
and b. I have been eating like a pig. So no surprises.
Just bitter disappointment Grin.

How did this happen? I have been having my fast days. They've gone ok really. But I've definitely been over eating on NFDs. Some of it boredom/stress. Some of it panic eating before a fast. Some of it pure greed. So now I must stop showing off "ooh, look what I can eat on a NFD and still lose weight (with a magnum in each hand)".

Yesterday we took the gooseberries to drusillas (lovely day out).
Bf: dh made bacon and eggs, a few slices of toast. (I should not have had this. Skipping breakfast or definitely avoiding the toast would have been better.)
Mid - journey snack (I kid you not) whole grain crisp things and a bastard granola bar (doomed I tell you, doomed!).
Late lunch: pre packed pastrami and coleslaw sandwich and a few chips.
Late afternoon snack: delicious ice cream cone.
Pub supper: smoked mackerel with a whole meal roll, bit of salad and a tiny few chips.
Arriving home snack: (OMG it's all coming back to me now) 1 regular almond magnum and one white mini magnum.
Plus I had an alcohol free beer at the pub so that's extra bastard calories isn't it?

Really a bit cross with myself. I didn't even want most of it. I should have had nothing for lunch as I wasn't really hungry. The only thing I really enjoyed was the egg in the morning (oh, plus the entry level carb toast and jam), the scoop of rum 'n' raisin ice cream and the mackerel.
Well the snacking has to stop.

So. Stick to 5:2. Maybe with an extra mini fast in the week.
Stop bloody snacking! FFS how hard can it be? It's ridiculous.
I need to plan meals better. Thisis quite hard as dh often cooks and likes to live like he's in a hotel (ooh, what shall I have for dinner tonight?) and food is so expensive that sometimes it's difficult to plan really healthy luxurious meals. But these are just excuses. It's hardly his fault.
Must plan.

Hazelbrowneyes · 19/07/2013 08:58

Hi all,

Sorry for the absence?been a bit blue. Well, that and bloody busy at work. Safe to say I?ve put on weight and I?m trying to kid myself that I?m eating less because it?s warm but it isn?t the case.

The chat with the lifecoach was good. We?ve decided I definitely need to stop drinking during the week, which is going well?not. I definitely need to introduce some exercise into my life, especially to help with toning. Oh and I need to eat less. He?s told me to consider 5:2. Oh and he?s told me to stop skipping breakfast.

I have so far taken none of his advice on board.

Tuesday:
B ? none
L ? Feta salad with silverskin onions on the side.
D ? Salad, prosciutto, mozzarella, boiled potatoes
S ? low fat crisps, 3 glasses of wine, ice cream cone and mini milk lolly

Wednesday:
B ? croissant
L ? chicken salad, although I didn?t really eat the salad
D ? tuna steak with boiled potatoes and a poached egg
S ? hard boiled egg, chocolate mousse, 1 glass of wine, 1 200ml bottle of prosecco, ice cream wafer

Thursday:
B - raisin pastry thing
L/D ? we took the afternoon off so went to the pub. I wanted melon with raspberry sorbet to start but they had none left, so DH got me bacon & stilton salad. He had some of that & I had one of his battered mushrooms. I followed this with scampi and chips which DH had some of as well. Really pleased I didn?t go for the salad (Virtuous DH did) because it came with fried cheese parcels (?!) and looked like shit, didn?t taste great either.
S ? Packet of S&V crisps, ice lolly, cheese & biscuits, bottle of cava.

So I?ve eaten way too much over the past few days. Today I?ve had a raisin pastry thing for breakfast but I don?t know what I?ll have for lunch or dinner. I want to lose weight so why can?t I stop scoffing?!

I?m going food shopping on Sunday so I?m going to spend tonight working out some meals that will keep me full and stop me reaching for the snacks.

wellies fingers crossed for WI on Sunday xx
baking sorry to hear you?re sick of this weather. I have to admit, I love it. I don?t love working in it (my office is like an oven) but I love the long, warm evenings & feeling the sun on my skin. Like Emily said though, not long until it?s crap again Grin
Emily don?t beat yourself up, you?re still doing incredibly well. Write yesterday off and start again today. Xx

I best get on with some work?I?ve got a doctors appointment later this morning. Yes, I?m finally going. The tingling is back & it?s really irritating me. Plus, I want to ask her about the spots I constantly have on my legs. I know it?s shallow but they?re beginning to really embarrass me (typically they look fine today)

SixPackWellies · 19/07/2013 09:28

Morning all.

My day off yesterday meant I ate a tortilla thing followed by a raison pastry for breakfast (snap Hazel), then roast chicken and veg for luch, then out for Chinese, and had egg fried rice, crispy beef, deep fried squid, and a third share of two bottles of wine. Plus a cider.

Have lost a pound since yesterday. Hmm.

So I am going to alternate fasting days with 'normal eating' days like you suggested Em.

Hazel I am SO pleased you are going to the Dr finally. Well done. Keep us posted.

Em I know exactly what you mean about 'panic eating before a fast'.

Baking hope your heels heal soon. A few days off is probably a good idea, as you have been a total ultra marathon girl lately!

Me today - green juice (done).

Gazpacho juice.

Cold leftover roast chicken and salad.

I am cooking like a demon though, as for some unknown reason Dh and I thought we would do a dinner party tomorrow night. So I am making smoked salmon pate and confit de canard. Both those things I hope to get done today so tomorrow I can be a little more laid back.

Hey.
Well done wellies on your loss.
hazel these spots. Are they flat and purplish? Or bumpy?

Feeling better after not eating this morning.
Having risotto for dinner.
Will have early lunch with ds before toddlers. No idea what though. I need to make falafel i think.
Off to make DH's birthday cake. Smile

Hazelbrowneyes · 19/07/2013 10:40

They're bumpy emily and very red, sometimes quite sore. Seeing a new doctor today. She looks like Kate Middleton. Bitch. Grin

Emilythornesbff · 19/07/2013 11:22

Ah poor hazel
Obviously impossible to tell without seeing them but less worrying than flat purply ones Grin
Hope it goes well today. Will you be mentioning the tingling???

Hazelbrowneyes · 19/07/2013 11:45

She thinks the spots may just be from shaving or an infected hair follicle (vom) so she's told me to keep exfoliating and moisturising and we'll see how they are in a few weeks.

Yes I mentioned the tingling as it's really bad today. She's booked me in for a fasting blood test in 2 weeks to rule out diabetes. She's not too worried about the chemicals being the cause yet and she's fairly confident she can rule out MS but she wants me to keep a diary of all the times I feel it and go back again in 4 weeks. If it's still bad then she'll send me to a neurologist.

wellies you've just reminded me of how much I fancy gazpacho.

twinklestar2 · 19/07/2013 13:01

Hey people, just deluding to say to Hazel that my OH had that a few weeks ago - spots all over his back. The docs said it was follicularlitus (sp). It went from him exfoliliating with a loofah and some clearasil cream.

twinklestar2 · 19/07/2013 13:17

Delurking!

SixPackWellies · 19/07/2013 13:56

have just realised, that as gazpacho is cold that gazpacho 'juice' is really just gazpacho.

Hazel very glad you are getting tests. Rule out all things.

Thanks

RubyGoat · 19/07/2013 23:03

Hi all. I know this may mark me out forever as a freak, but I really don't like this weather. Aside from the benefit of getting the washing dry, it's really unhelpful. I feel queasy all the time & I don't suit a tan. I don't like the heat as I just sort of wilt. Plus, DD is really struggling to sleep, her room has been too warm for the last week, despite open window & fan.

But, as I made loads of cookies for work (charity cake sale thing) & kept some of the rejects, I don't think I will have a good result this week. Cookies are all gone now, they were yummy but totally sinful.

Anyway, I have not had a good week (was convinced I was PG despite having a coil, as I feel SO sick this week - thankfully I'm not.) It's probably just the heat but I may go to the doctor if it carries on, as I'm fed up of it. Does anyone else find that the warm weather makes them feel sick?

Bakingnovice · 19/07/2013 23:26

Yes!! I agree Lego and I said it earlier in the thread. When in the garden all I do is shout: no. Yes. Stop. Play nicely. In a minute. nO. I said NO. Stop now. Oh shut up. Don't touch my washing. Play nicely! Right everyone in.

Everyone in my bloody fecking stupidly quiet neighbourhood spends a day listening to loud shit music, or mowing the lawn, or doing loud DIY, or shouting/yelling/ BBQ ing/ splashing. I'm sick of it. It's after 10 and my neighbours kids are still out. It's too hot to sleep. The fruit bowl contents have gone off in a matter of hours, and vids wen my neighbours arse crack too many this this week. Another neighbour has lovbed off every single shared hedge in a hedge trimming frenzy so now we all have to suffer seeing each others faces and kids and washing for the first time ever. Sorry to moan everyone! I needed to rant.

Still running and trying to be good.

Emilythornesbff · 20/07/2013 06:27

Hey lego and baking.
Your posts ade me smile. I know what you mean about he weather. I do like it but it's also a PITA.
DS is more difficult to settle and the regular sunscreen applications to 2 DCs are a faff. I like being out in it and getting brown legs but my face hates the sun. The laundry dries on the line in about four minutes and I do like that but the drier is so easy Blush and tumble dried clothes need almost no ironing.
The best thing about this weather is (after the military mission of applying us cream to a wriggling toddler and a 5 mo) that we can go outside to play so lots of running around and water play and minimal mess indoors.

lego I hope you feel bett soon.
baking the noise round here last night was phenomenal. It was like the end of term party at st trinians had turfed out into the local streets.

Hazel I've just realised that I took advantage of your discomfort to crow about my guessing abilities. Sorry. Air and exfoliate and I hope you're better soon.

Yesterday I had a couple of ham salad pita breads for lunch followed by some pineapple. Then risotto for dinner and a mini magnum (plus half of DS's mini magnum) I did snack Blush on some pistachios, a banana and a slice of white bread with butter and marmalade. Oh, and a granola bar. Damn!
Today is DH's birthday. I don't know what we're eating as he hassn't wanted to plan anything. Boo.
O&D FRs.

Hazelbrowneyes · 20/07/2013 09:56

twinkle It does sound similar, I exfoliated last night and they look much better already.

lego I do love this weather but last night it was so uncomfortable in bed. I had the window fully open (unheard of ? we have sash windows and a flat roof underneath our bedroom window and I?m petrified of someone breaking in) and I was still drenched in sweat.

baking Grin sounds like you needed that rant.

Emily happy birthday to your DH. Hopefully he?ll decide what he wants to eat soon! Don?t apologise, I bow down to your superior guessing abilities Grin

Yesterday:

B ? raisin pastry thing
L ? cheese salad roll
D ? sausage (1.5, I gave the other 0.5 to DH), mash and beans.

S ? mini cheddars, twix, ice cream wafer, wine.

Obviously, I?ve put on more weight and I?m quite down about it. I have to buy a dress for Goodwood today and I?m really annoyed at myself for not trying harder to lose some weight.

Today:
B ? raisin pastry thing (all gone now and I?m banishing pastries from my house)
L ? tuna salad
D ? BBQ
S ? well obviously there will be wine today. GAH.

I?ve decided I need to drastically up my water intake so I?m starting on that right now. The wine is absolutely punishing my IBS so I need to dramatically cut down on that because I?m fed up of having stomach cramps. I know what I need to do, it?s just the doing it that I struggle with.

Emilythornesbff · 20/07/2013 10:32

Drinking is complicated. It's become so accepted that we have wine every day that it can be hard to knock it on the head. I was watching Saturday kit hen last week and I've only recently noticed that every single guest chef's dish is accompanied by a piece on what bloody wine to drink with it. Like it's obligatory. Have a fucking glass of water!
Even a curry. The wine knob buff was wandering round the supermarket desperately trying to shoehorn a wine choice into the article. Even after admitting that wine just does not go with curry. It's like we're being secretly ruled by a bloody chateau.
I don't really drink now. But that's because I'm breastfeeding or have been pregnant constantly for the past three years. I look at ppl around me "needing" a glass/ bottle of wine as their due after a tough/ long/ boring/ stressful / hot / cold day and I think "knob".
But I reckon I'd be joining them if I could.

Anyway. For health, weight loss, mental well being and financial sense it it a brilliant idea to only drink at weekends or special occasions.

Hazelbrowneyes · 20/07/2013 10:43

Wine definitely does not go with curry. Fact. Of course, this doesn't stop me from ordering a bottle of Fleurie with it but truth be told, I prefer just water or diet coke with a nice, hot curry.

DH is big on "needing" a beer to cool down, chill out, etc. I do think "knob" every time Grin but then last night, I was the first one to have a drink.

I never used to drink this much so there is no reason why I can't cut down again. I just wish I could get rid of the rage when DH has a drink. God knows how I'll cope if we ever get round to having a baby Grin

Bakingnovice · 20/07/2013 11:09

Happy birthday to your hubby Emily!

Emilythornesbff · 20/07/2013 11:34

Mmmmmmm fleurie.....

Thank you baking and hazel
