Good morning Fellow Revolutionaries. Welcome to Thread 2!

Me today:

coffee with soy milk
2 ryvitas with half an avocado
spicy tomato soup (homemade) with a green salad
Small portion of roast pork, with lost of veg, a tablespoon of gravy!

hazel as you are very small there is still room for you on this wagon even after those delicious crisps Grin. Jump up!

NFD today. I have avoided breakfast apart from coffee and a bite of an oatcake (I know it's only 9am but have been up since 6) and need to go food shopping. Quite looking forward to dinner, except I don't know what to have. Confused
I feel like I should be allowed an hour a week with my recipe books (thank you lovely nigella) to plan but apparently not. I might start an aibu about the downside to having a DH who cooks!
Anyway. Feeling good about skipping breakfast.
Will hopefully get out with the pram today.

Hey fellow revolutionaries

NFD today.
I planned to skip breakfast, avoid snacking (fruit excepted) and not eat any ice crea.

Today's food:
B: bite of oatcake, coffee, tea.
L: McDonald's veggie wrap meal. (that was very nice Blush)
D: chicken satay with rice. Mars bar ice cream (oops), bottle of alcohol free beer.
S: 4 dates, 1 nectarine, half an apple.
E: decent walk with pram.

So failed on no ice cream.
But overall quite pleased. It was definitely easier to avoid snacking after skipping breakfast. I have decided that breakfast is evil.
Fasting tomorrow as out on Thursday and Friday. Might be tough as my last fast was Monday.

Morning all.

Yesterday:

green juice
salad with leaves, brazil nuts, avocados, seaweed flakes, and various seeds.
hummus
breradsticks
ham
half a small slice of quiche.

Sigh.

I feel bloated and weighed down so today I am going to try my juice fast all day to recalibrate my system.

So the day I will feast on green juice all day (it is yum, Hazel. But I realised yesterday I need to have at least one big apple in it or two small otherwise it is too bitter) and herbal teas. For dinner I might juice a couple of oranges and a lemon. Yum!

Oh...... it may not be a dry July next week. If anyone recalls those friends of DH that turned up and stayed last month and told me they would be back in July for a week? I was expecting them yesterday...... finally we called them and they said that no, they thought they would come at the weekend and 'stay until the 23rd'.

Gin just might be required.

I am currently e-mailing them a pretty tough e-mail which asks for EXACT dates, not least because my cousin was supposed to be staying this weekend and I have no idea where everyone is going to sleep.

[And no, we are NOT running a B&B. Although you would not know it..... ]

Morning Emily! Great. A fasting buddy, that sounds perfect as I know towards the end of the day I will find it tough. :)

The bloating might be psychological, because I was going to be raw all day, and then scoffed last thing at night. :(

I am a bit blue about the guests. I wish I were tougher. I wrote an e-mail to them asking for times of arrival etc, as we have lots of things to do and kind of laid on thick that we actually have lives of our own. I was a little worried that it might be rude to imply to guests how much work it is to have them, but in this case I think they are so damned entitled that it might be a good thing to point out that actually, it is a bit of an imposition. And I was livid last night because they said they would arrive on the 9th, and then when we rang as we wanted to go to bed, they just casually said they thought they would come this weekend instead. I really feel taken advantage of. Like I said, we are NOT a B&B, nor do we run holiday lets. This is our home. The thing is too, is that DH is meant to be travelling for work next week so I will be on my own with them. I really wish we had said it was not convenient. But we were sort of blind sided by the not turning up thing. I need to be more assertive in so many ways in my life.

I am not going to feed and wine them non-stop though like I usually do. They never put their own hands in their pockets, and frankly they can be largely on their own. They are only using us a base to go and do touristy things anyway. So they can provide their own meals. [hands on hips].

So sorry FR. You might get lost of posts of me just moaning. I will try and not be too dull.

Drinking my green juice now. Lunch will be juiced carrots, ginger and apples. Mmm. Tastes good!

Morning!

8st 12lbs today which I think is my lowest in well over a year (unless I was previously lower than that last month but I can?t remember. I don?t think I was)

Yesterday:
B ? pink grapefruit
L ? Chinese chicken wrap
D ? mushroom & small amount of cheese omelette with salad
S ? low fat crisps, breakfast bar, 3 cold new potatoes, 1 glass of white wine, milk lolly.

I did buy a cheese salad roll but that?s still in the fridge. So not too bad yesterday, but I still need to work on the snacking.

Today:
B ? None. I have a croissant with me but I?m going to try not to eat it
L ? salad with feta cheese
D - ?
S ? melon, silverskin onions, low fat crisps, breakfast bar. I shall try to just stick to the melon & silverskin onions.

I?m also missing lego, twinkle and iheart. Come baaaaack!

wellies don?t be silly, we?re hear to listen to any sort of moaning (good job really, given how much I moan at you all Wink) and I am very Angry on your behalf over the disgusting way these ?friends? treat you. They?re planning on staying 10 days?! Not on. Really, really unfair on you. I think on this occasion you actually should email them and say ?So sorry to do this to you at such late notice, but it really isn?t convenient for you to stay that length of time, or over those dates. If you?re in the area and you want to meet for lunch/dinner on XX date then that would be wonderful, otherwise we?ll catch up soon.?

Honestly, you need to put your foot down. Your cousin is staying this weekend, your DH is away next week ? it?s just not fair to put all this on you, it really isn?t. xxx

wellis I agree with hazel I think it's completely ok to cancel.
Do it today. Either as hazel suggested or just call, txt or e mail saying you're really sorry but something's come up (have excuse in reserve if you like) and you can't see them then. Would love to reschedule.
Don't be vague.
Focus on the result. You will feel so relieved when it's done.

Also, we seem to have lost Labootin. labootin, if you are about, are you okay?

I have suggested to DH that we just cancel them, Hazel and Em. His response was that we surely could not at short notice. My response was that they are hardly as considerate of our feelings. He is thinking it over. he did say he might postpone some of his trip so he can be here.

I got a response to my request that they give me an actual ETA for the weekend.... the response was that they could not possibly, but in the afternoon some time because they did not know how the traffic would be.

Hmm

Oh well. If it is a fait accompli I am going to practice zen-like tolerance, and think of my soul or something.

My Juice fasting is going quite well. I am not hungry (although I did find myself buying mounds of food today on the principle that it could stay in the fridge until tomorrow...). Lunch was beetroot, orange, apple, ginger and carrot juiced. It was really delicious. Dinner is supposed to be a green juice again.

Oh I knew I'd forgotten someone's name!

sixpack I can actually sympathise with your guests about timings Grin. But I think it's a shame you can't cancel. I admire your approach though.

I am famished. Also TOM so feeling slightly less than chipper (did someone say "chip"?) ATM. Grin.
DH is cooking chicken and sausages on bbq for himself and DS. Envy But i have only had a couple of coffees with milk, four raspberries, water and a can of sugar free cream soda.[smug]

Visiting lovely DB and DSisIL tomorrow so will make a cake in a minute.
Chocolate loaf cake or lemon drizzle? Hmmm.

Good morning! Sneaky WI before my 'official' WI of tomorrow.

10 stone 7.

2 pounds down.

And, I have to admit that I scoffed the DCs (and DH's) leftover goujons and chips.

But the juice fast was great until then! I just got a little depressed.

Today,

Bk - green juice
L- red juice
D- HUGE and yummy salad with lots of lovely veggies.

I do not recall the last time I was 10 stone 7!!!! (I can... it was during bad morning sickness).

The scale was wavering too, so tomorrow, I might be 10 stone 6.

Are you doing a juice fast every day?
Harsh much.
I found it tough yesterday evening but stuck to liquids. Late to bed because of packing for three weeks away overnight stay with family.
So I felt a bit light headed this morning.
NFD (yay) and halving toast (gateway drug of carbs), bacon (1 slice), 1 egg, coffee (well, mocha) and some raspberries.

WI: lost another lb.hurrah!
six we definitely should do a Wednesday fast before our thursday WIs.

Emily which cake did you go for? Well done on yet another liquid only fast. Am v Envy of how you?ve managed to do it!

Right well seeing as you two are doing so amazingly well, I?m here to balance the scales?

Yesterday:
B ? None.
L ? salad with feta cheese
D ? Chinese. Again. Doh. Was yummy though ? Szechuan chicken, beef & peppers in a chilli sauce, special fried rice & prawn crackers
S ? silverskin onions, low fat crisps, breakfast bar, milk lolly (which wasn?t quite cold enough and ended up half in the bin & a dollop in one of the spare shoes under my desk), glass of wine.

Today:
B ? None.

L ? No idea!
D ? BBQ ? typically we?ve chosen the coolest day of the week to have a family BBQ but I?m sure it?ll all be fine.
S ? I have low fat crisps and a breakfast bar with me but I?ve already been pretty busy this morning so might not have time to eat it.

Right, super busy this morning as I want to escape from work really early today. Catch up later FRs xxx

Liquid all day Emily, that is impressive! I do not think I could manage that.

Yesterday I really was not hungry at all, so thought I would aim again for juice for during the day. The problem came when everyone else was eating and I felt deprived. So I plan to juice all day for as many days as I can manage it, then eat a good healthy meal at night. I changed my mind though on a salad for tonight... now plan to have falafel and vegetables. I LOVED the red juice yesterday, it was delicious. So, if I can do that, then a decent meal in the evening, that might yield some good results... I hope!

I am definitely up for a Wednesday fast! I'll switch WI day back to Thursdays too. (But deffo want to wi tomorrow. )

Hope you have a lovely BBQ Hazel. That might be on the agenda for tomorrow. Mmm......

Sounds like you're doing "mini fasts" which are quite the thing atm in 5:2 land. Good luck for tomorrow's WI.

We're in the car (probably for about 9 hours given the traffic and DH's faffing) with no access to food so i'll probably be safe until dinner time Grin

Menu for today:

9.30-ish - Green juice (cucumber, celery, apples, lemon and ginger
12.30-ish - Red Juice (beetroot, carrots, oranges)
3.30-ish - Spicy tomato juice (tomatoes, celery, red peppers, lime and chilli)

6-ish - falafel, pita, sautéed peppers and inions, tzatziki and avocado.

Yum!!!!!

welies impressive juicing.

Had scampi and chips for lunch yesterday and yummy bbq (& crisps Blush) for dinner.
