All new mummies welcome. Any exercise and/or weight loss programme acceptable, so long as it is healthy.

A big thurst seems normal to me if you are breast feeding!?

Breakfast is whenevr you wake up yule your baby is still teeny tiny isnt it? dont beat yourself up - its such early days!!

GTbaby · 07/01/2013 02:16

Ekk. Very thirsty. But can't be bothered to get out of bed n go get water. Jezz.

Iheartpasties · 07/01/2013 04:34

I have weighed myself (scales have been located). I am 72.9 kg, so I want to shift 12.6 kg. I'd love to be about 9 and a half stones. I can only realy picture my weight in stones and pounds, but over here everyone does their weight in kg's, so I must start trying to remember it that way!! In the good old days I was 8 and a hlaf stones but I do not think I can get that much weight off!!

To be honest - as the week has progressed I have started to realise that I do not want to fuck up my milk supply so as long as I am making healthy choices I am happy with that. I had a couple of treats this weekend. I cannot see me shifting much weight at the moment. I will be happy to start getting more active as well. A sports bra is a must. My boobs are massive now. I jumped off a log yesterday at the park and my god I sort of landed then about 5 minutes later my heavy boobs sort of landed and I nearly toppled over!! Fuck they felt like they were going to rip off my chest!! Need massive and strong sports bra!!!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 07/01/2013 05:19

Wow, I didn't know this was here....

2 stone to loose and a bit of extra toning please. Dabbled before chrimbo, start in earnest tomorrow. Dreading the scales!

RichManPoorManBeggarmanThief · 07/01/2013 05:26

Weighed in- I am 10 stone 9lbs still - not that surprising as only been going 2 days, but just weighing in to keep the discipline.

Had an okay weekend. Went to the gym both days, stayed off caffeine and alcohol etc, ate pretty healthily. Felt really weird coming into work this mornign without diverting via the coffee shop for a latte and a muffin for breakfast. Instead I brought in a ham sandwich (just "naice" ham on brown bread) and a punnet of blackberries. Then had green papaya salad and veg and bean soup for lunch. Dinner is chili and green salad. Work is a bitch because there are free biscuits in the kitchen. Fortunately they are "Chips Ahoy" which taste like cardboard, but that's not to say I dont usually eat them anyway.

INeedThatForkOff · 07/01/2013 07:01

Yule, that is a lot of water and drinking too much can dangerously affect your salt (sodium?) levels. I don't pretend to know much about it so I would look it up if I were you.

applecrumple · 07/01/2013 07:29

I think during bf, drinking loads of water is ok (& in fact advised). You get v thirsty whilst bf anyway (although I've found that this isn't so bad now at 17 weeks). Again no expect but I wouldn't worry too much - maybe Stunt can help?! Smile

StuntNun · 07/01/2013 07:43

That's a lot of water Yule. I would consider asking for a blood test for diabetes just in case.

Still 11 st 5 lb here but I have finished all the Christmas goodies last week and the school walk run starts today.

WaitingForMe · 07/01/2013 07:48

One week in and 3lb down Grin

I now have 1st exactly to lose by 3rd March (DSs naming ceremony).

I'm ordering the Hairy Bikers book. I watched the TV program and thought some of it sounded good.

INeedThatForkOff · 07/01/2013 07:49

I was going to walk to DD's toddler group today, 45mins each way with the double buggy, but baby DS has a nasty cough and I don't want to be caught out a long way from home if he has one of his more violent coughing fits. Do one, illness. Going to do a WI soon. Eek!

horseylady · 07/01/2013 07:57

Right think im going to weigh every Monday morning. So this morning im 10stone 2lb. Current goal weight 9st 5lb. I might try for 9st but I find that weight difficult to maintain so think my more natural weight is 9st 5lb.

CandyPop · 07/01/2013 07:59

For those who are finding they are not drinking enough water .... I always down a glass just before feeding. That way you def get enough water! During the nightfeeds. I wouldnt necessary do a whole glass but at least a few gulps. gt take a water bottle with you upstairs at night that way you don't have to get up if you do get thirsty!

Weigh in:

Start weight: 9sts
Current weight: 8st13
Loss: 1lb

Yay!!

applecrumple · 07/01/2013 08:04

Well I haven't got any scales so have just measured myself & they're the same as last week, but from experience I tend to lose weight from my waist & hips last. Don't really feel much different but at least I'm eating much healthier than before

crazypaving · 07/01/2013 08:11

Morning all. Scales reckon I've lost 3lb but I don't trust them - I slipped up a lot last week...also I was pretty thirsty when I weighed myself which is pretty much cheating.

Another week, this time with more food in the house so I'm less likely to end up starving then stuffing my face. I hope.

suburbanmyth · 07/01/2013 08:13

Hello, can I join in? DC3 is nearly 1 so not Bfing anymore, but definitely still have the wobbly tum (horrendous) and I have lost not an ounce since I had him Blush so on top of the accumulated weight from the other two I have quite a bit to lose. Plans are first to start exercising 3 times a week as I am rubbish at dieting, but also to try and eat more healthily / smaller portions etc. Should really cut out the wine and cut down the coffee too...all in good time, I know I will never stick to it if I try and do too much at once. I think I have approximately 20Kg to lose, eek. Exercise will involve rowing (we have an ergo & I started last week) and walking. Looking forward to fitting into nice clothes again & feeling more energised! Smile

yw manuka is meant to be great for everything, I give it to the kids.

I am, currently on a shake plan which I stupidly let my neighbour talk me into. I hate it, I love fresh food and I love cooking and I love sitting down at the table with my family. It did help me shift 5 lbs before Christmas but I realise I probably put that on over chrimbo anyway. I did a read of shake plans and the current thinking is they are ok if you don't like to cook but they are expensive. Oh yes. So. Will finish what I have, get back out of the snack habit and then get on a proper diet again.

I may get the Hairy Dieters book, are you finding it well worth it yw?

I am only part way down this thread and have a lot to catch up on so will get on with it.

NanoNinja · 07/01/2013 08:41

Weighed in this morning at 59kg, so plus 0.5 kg. Has been like this since end October - anything between 58 and 59. But I have really upped the exercise this week, and been consistently around 1600 calories. Am beginning to wonder whether it is even worth trying to lose weight when breastfeeding.

NanoNinja · 07/01/2013 08:43

Oh, and well done to all of you who lost or maintained - very good work!

TheTiger · 07/01/2013 08:54

Weighed in:

Start: 10 stone 2
Week 1: 9 stone 13

Woohoo! 3 lbs off and below 10 stone! So I've got 7 lbs to go to hit target 1 then another 6 lbs to hopefully get down to 9 stone.

Good Luck to everyone weighing in and well done to everyone who has lost or maintained. It's tough, but we can all do it!!

Plan for today is a long walk to Tesco to get the things we forgot when shopping yesterday

rebeccacraig0001 · 07/01/2013 09:05

Just been reading all your comments hoping they will make me feel better as I'm feeling pretty misrable at the moment. My baby is 7 months old, I've lost 2 stone since he was born and have another 1.5 to go. Been doing slimming world but I find it unpredictable and doesn't seem to follow that if you have a 'good' week, you have a good weight loss. I'm fed up of going to group and paying a fiver and leaving feeling like I have no self control and can't even lose a crappy 2lb when I follow the plan all the time! I sound like my daughter, but IT'S NOT FAIR!! I have pcos and had gestational diabetes....did anyone else find that GD made it hard to lose weight after giving birth?

GoatBongosAnonymous · 07/01/2013 09:15

Starting weight: 12 5
Current weight: 12 2
Loss: 3lb

How did that happen?! Must be the walking, cos it sure wasn't what I was not eating.
