crumple I think I diabetic diet is pretty good too. How are you getting on with eliminating all those things? Must be quite hard.

I am shattered and have a little voice in my head on loop, saying 'chocolate will help, or a cheese sandwich'

Hello ladies Smile I am going to join but next week, we still have some visiting to do and lots of food in the house so ill wait until its gone. My problem is snacking and DP he's so fussy it's unreal and doesn't really like veg so he's going to be on it with me but through force and not choice Grin I am not cooking him a dinner then me something really healthy. Think I'm going to get the wii fit out but with a 10w old DD I can see a few problems on the horizon because she doesn't sleep in the day and when she's awake she likes mummy close but I love it. Going to try a 30-45 min walk every day but if its nice then do abit more, I'll add all my stats when I'm starting

NervousReindeer · 01/01/2013 11:39

VQ stay strong, you'll feel better for resisting tomorrow Smile

Does anyone know how many more calories extra, if any, for BF? I'm going to do meal plan this week and find some nice hopefully new recipes

apple we can be elimination buddies together I'm off soy and dairy due to LO's reflux. As you say all of my favourite treats are off the cards now. Ironically it has made me discover some lovely healthy treats - raspberry and lemon sorbet and those nakd pressed fruit wholefood bars are yum especially the cocoa orange ones a'm nd they are pure fruit.

Cutting wheat out as well must be really tricky - the HV wants me to see a nutritionist to make sure I'm getting enough vitamins and fats - so won't be able to do one of those fad intense diets even if I wanted to (and I don't as I don't want to rebound and put pounds on long term).

Ladies doing the Shred make sure you don't end up piling on the pounds by doing such an intense routine and troughing afterwards - that's something I do after a good run!!!! Grin

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 01/01/2013 12:09

I'm starting today. I weigh 11st 13oz. My first goal is to get to my pre-preggo weight if 10st 10oz, I aim to do this in 8 weeks by eating healthily and gentle exercise. My second goal is to get to 9st 10oz, I will be doing the 30 day shred to help with the second goal as I will be 12 weeks post section by then.

I'm making a chicken and veg soup as we speak and I'm going out for a walk now!

YellowWellies · 01/01/2013 12:10

Nervous 500-700 calories a day for BFing x

applecrumple · 01/01/2013 12:25

valium mmmm cheese, that's one thing I really miss! Yesterday was my first day of cutting out wheat & as such I think I under ate quite a bit so going to be a bit more careful to eat more today.

yellow - yay sounds good to me! Have you tried the chocolate oatily drink? It's really nice & tastes just like chocolate milk.

I sympathise with all those mums whose babies don't sleep other than on them during the day - mines the same hence why walking will be my only exercise at the moment!

NanoNinja · 01/01/2013 13:23

crumple I'm off dairy because of breast feeding, but not sure it's helping much for my lo (was a guess rather than diagnosed). Also trying to be careful with alcohol and caffeine. And now sugar!

Have managed two days of walking for 45 minutes a go. My lo isn't too Velcro, but is very unpredictable in terms of sleep during the day, so walking definitely works best.

Titsalinabumsquash · 01/01/2013 13:35

candy I can't get on my PMs atm, don't think I'm ignoring you! Smile Smile

DP and I scoffed everything naughty in the house last night and slimming world diet starts today... I've in,y managed a yoghurt and an orange so far though! The group starts Thursday though so I'll have more of a grasp again on what I can/can't eat.

tearoomtrash · 01/01/2013 15:43

My stats

Height - 5'0"
Weight - 10st4
BMI - 28 (which puts me at the top of the "overweight" bracket Confused)

My first target is to get to 9st, I would like to have achieved this by March...

projectbabyweight · 01/01/2013 16:26

I just ate an apple instead of a cupcake! I realise this sounds minor but I was so close to the cake and listened to the sensible voice in my head rather than blocking it out as usual.

If I can keep this up I will actually reach my goal Grin

Good luck everyone!

CandyPop · 01/01/2013 17:38

My stats:
5ft 2
Current weight: 9st
Goal weight: 8st 7

Didnt have time for a walk today Hmm ... Hopefully will get a chance 2mo.
I need to try drink more water too!

applecrumple · 01/01/2013 19:57

Been good all day. Now for a cup of dairy free hot choc & a homemade marshmallow!

VisualiseAHorse · 01/01/2013 21:13

I know - 24 inch bust. I'm such a twat.

Good day today. 3 meals, lots of glasses of water, and 2 30 minutes walk. Baby didn't give me time to even get dressed to do the shred! Will try again tomorrow.

GTbaby · 01/01/2013 21:51

Oh dear. Bad day. Lots of guests. Lots of food. No exercise. N tomorrow will b the same. Lots of family want to see LO as they haven't had a chance n now everyone seems to have time off. Will try go for a walk between visits tomorrow.

horseylady · 01/01/2013 22:23

Do something which is sustainable. Also try to put a positive spin on things. So rather than I'm not eating chocolate, think I'm going to eat fruit.

Also at the point of the day you sit and watch telly while the babies asleep, keep the Chanel on but just walk on the spot or forwards and backwards. If theres an add break you could do sit ups, press ups or plank.

And if you cam get yourself out for a 20 minute walk a day (minimum) it will benefit you and the baby :)

INeedThatForkOff · 01/01/2013 22:25

I had a long walk with the double buggy today. I tracked it with the HRM and it's certainly good exercise, esp. with a variety of hill and flat sections. Unfortunately DD (2.10) is poorly and DS has his first imms in the morning, so tomorrow is likely to be difficult.

Start WW ProPoints tomorrow Smile

wannabedomesticgoddess · 01/01/2013 22:29

So so day. The piece of cheesecake wasnt great but on a plus note, drank lots of water and had soup for lunch.

I think those measurements may have included TOM bloatedness because I feel a lot smaller overnight and it certainly wasnt because of anything I did yesterday.

YellowWellies · 01/01/2013 23:11

10 days and we move back to the mainland where I'll be able to go out with the buggy without all weather gear and without braving our usual gales (I live on Orkney and we have, literally, had three hurricane force storms in the last ten days)! My exercise / getting out of the house starts the second I land in Fife. Am so excited as, as pass would say, until then I'm barely walking the length of myself whilst we're house bound and I'm going a bit mad. Will also not miss the sound of the roof attempting to leave the house on a windy night Grin

So I don't expect to lose much weight until then as I'll not realistically be exercising until the 11th Jan. DH cooked a very nice tea of roasted aubergines and tatties with chicken in a red wine sauce. Was yum.

My measurements are (horror!!!!!) bust 41, waist 36 and hip 44 inches. Eeeek. There's a reason my pre-preggo jeans are snug don't fit

I have made a very geeky spreadsheet with automatic BMI and percentage of weight loss goal lost calculations. Am a nerd. Grin

kirrinIsland · 02/01/2013 00:12

Well, not a great start but not too bad either. I had a small choc bar and a mince pie that I shouldn't have but I also went out for a good walk - bout an hour I think? a lot of it was at DD1's pace so not very strenuous - I did have N in the sling though, that's an extra 10lb to carry - that's got to help, surely?!

I have just spent a week with my super slim sister which is both motivating and depressing all at once. I need a photo of her on my fridge!

CandyPop · 02/01/2013 00:25

tits Grin I'm in no hurry to do DVD considering walking for 45 mins had left me breathless!

Confession ... Like gt had guest today so ended up doing no exercise and eating crisp and chocolate Blush BUT instead of a carby dinner I had tomato soup and a slice of whole meal bread. Dh also back at work 2mo so gonna really go for it 2mo

Goatbongohohoandjinglejingle · 02/01/2013 01:46

Only change today really was eating less and going for a long walk Xmas Blush Can't say I ate much more healthily! Need healthy snacks for the current sleep regression phase...
Tomorrow am making celeriac, leek and spinach soup. To use up the celeriac and as a change from celeriac and thyme (which is nevertheless yum).

GTbaby · 02/01/2013 02:03

Unlike candy I had my left over "guest food" for dinner. Samosa n choc cake. N a glass of diet coke n some ice cream. Oh dear.

Feel like I'm coming down with a cold n feeling a little sry for myself tbh. Not good at all.

Iheartpasties · 02/01/2013 04:05

Well girls, I was thinking of you all today while I loaded my two into the double pram and headed off to the park - a 40 min walk I reckon, and the same on the way back (except I was much slower on the way home!!). No snacking so far, which is good. I plan on doing a healthy tea - chicken breast, grilled probably, salad and a bean salad. Probably need to do some potatoes for dh.

Today I feel in control and that feels good. Evenings are normally my major snacking time! so tonight I will try and resist or have some raw carrot.
