DancingInTheMoonlight · 11/02/2013 12:37

Hi all. Its been a while since i have been on this thread as i had a huge blip after my sisters wedding and spent Dec eating and drinking! Put on about a stone in a month and was a bit embarrassed... BUT in January i made a vote to get down to my ideal weight (10st 7) by my birthday at the end if Feb and i seem to be on target. I've been calorie counting using mfp and have gone down from 11st 10 (1st jan) to 10st 10 this morning Grin. Can i come join in again please? I really need the support for the final push...

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 11/02/2013 13:40

Hello dancing, another one in the 10s, I hope you have a funky celebration dance to perform for us! Well done and I'm not jealous at all Envy well maybe a little.

checkpoint lb by lb we will get there. I have had a little mope but I am feeling positive again.

human my final goal has always been BMi 24 so 10 to 10 1/2 stone depending on what suits me. I am only 5 ft 4 so apparently I could go down to low 8s but I can't imagine I would look good that low.

So last week was ok calorie wise. I decided to see if I could live without mfp and gave up after three days of lower than 1000 cals. I was worried about not getting enough nutrients. So Thursday and Friday were just over 1200 cals but I was annoyed as I'd put on half a lb by Friday. Think my weight gain can only be due to Saturday as dd1 learnt about Chinese new year at school and wanted to eat Chinese food (for the first time that she remembers). I was actually really good, had single spoonfuls of everything (whereas previously I'd have had three or four times as much) so not masses of calories. I can only conclude it's the salt.

Right need to lose 6lbs in 6 weeks. I'm still 32lbs down overall. I can do it.

ICBINEG · 11/02/2013 14:05

Johnny even small amounts of chinese food send my weight flying up...will be transient and right back down before you know it.

Gosh lots of us are with striking range of our goals! One big final push to Easter!

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 11/02/2013 15:18

icb I hope you're right. It is the first time I've had Chinese in about a year so i haven't noticed any effects on me. The lunch was about 1,000 cals so in total the day was 1,500 so still a relatively low cal day. It's scary but the old me could've easily polished off 2,000 cals in one chinese meal, then have pudding.

Must avoid the temptation now to do a daily weigh in until it goes.

DancingInTheMoonlight · 11/02/2013 15:55

Johnnydepp- planning one already :-) o really struggle with sustaining my weight tho as once i relax the diet the flood gates if naughty yummy food fly open (like before Christmas). That said, i have tried to so my usual habits like reaching for the takeaway menu after a rubbish day. This has actually been successful, even after another hospital admission for ds.

Another thing helping is that my new swimsuit arrived for my spa day at the end if the month (my 30th birthday treat). Its so pretty but not very forgiving if I pile in the weight again!

DancingInTheMoonlight · 11/02/2013 15:56

So what has been working for everyone on thread?

TheHumancatapult · 11/02/2013 16:05

Yup Chinese high in salts and carbs But tastes good < plans one on holiday in Easter >

Hi dancing and welcome back

Yeah must admit johnny I was shocked at the wide range 8.7 to just over 11 at 5.6 I'm nearer to 5.7 than 5.6 but figure rather over estimate than under

Going try see how I feel at 10 stone which if went on 5.6 makes my BMI 22 .6 but I may little bit lighter because of strain on my shoulders may float between 9.7 and 10 knowing if get near 10 Need cut back

But will see first goal is get below 10.7

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 11/02/2013 18:37

dancing what's working? For me it's a knowledge of calories and I'm better at estimating weights of food. For the first ten weeks I had to abstain completely from 'bad' things or I'd lose control if i had just one mouthful (i am thinking of pringles here) but now I'm better at making trade offs. So if I have a big lunch I'll have a small dinner. Or if i have a cake i'll have a small dinner or no lunch. And if I have a fatty meat or something with a creamy sauce I'll only have a couple of chips.

My appetite has really gone down so earlier I had risotto with the dds. But my portion was about the same size as theirs and I had salad with it whereas they had veg. I am actually astounded at how little I have to eat to be full. I had nearly forty years of eating everything on my plate and now I regularly throw food away that before I would have eaten. (food like cakes or chocolate get binned. Vegetables get frozen and cooked with at a later date).

TheHumancatapult · 11/02/2013 20:46

Dancing for me was ditching gluten and low carb and low calorie once get there I shall work out what's my amount day can eat and maintain

But when I had few days of I find that I'm not hungry I feel full fast and 1/2 a slice of cake is more than enough tbh I'm horrified what I used to eat and then still eat again later my taste buds changed to

Tortoise · 11/02/2013 22:27

Well, as expected, I gained a few lbs Sad .
And now I have another bloody cold Sad .
Taking DC to cinema tomorrow. Be good to get out the house. Smile

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 12/02/2013 08:56

tortoise sorry to hear that but you did have a busy week last week, perhaps this week there will be fewer temptations. I can't remember if this week is your half-term, could you take the kids out on the bikes? (if you're well enough).

After saying I would try to avoid mid week weigh ins I found myself doing it again this morning and I have lost 3.5 lbs in one day! How does that happen? I don't think I have ever lost that in a week. So I am now 11st 3.

Right, really must avoid scales now, can't cope with this roller coaster of weight loss and gains.

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 12/02/2013 09:19

Ooh dancing spa day, you lucky thing. I bet you will look fab. Are there any links to your new costume?

PrincessUnderpaid · 12/02/2013 09:28

DancingInTheMoonlight · 12/02/2013 11:29

www.brastop.com/SetDetails.aspx?setId=3923

Trying again...

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 12/02/2013 16:03

Ooh dancing I like that. I would settle even for a day in council run baths, sounds lovely. I had a spa day in December for a friends 40th which was nice. I was about 12 st so not slim by any stretch of the imagination but I felt fantastic. I would like to get a new costume but I'll wait until I'm nearer target weight.

Welcome princess I'm 5ft 4 and 11st 3 so quite similar. Like you I'm also doing mfp, some swimming (when my legs aren't hairy like now) and Pilates. Do you have a target? Mine is 10 to 10 1/2 st, I'll decide when I get there. I'm generally happy with all of me other than my stomach which is huge.

Tortoise · 12/02/2013 16:42

Yes, last week was manic johnny. It is half term this week. Ds2 doesn't have a bike at the moment bit maybe I could take DDs out at the weekend when DSs go to their dad's.
Hoping for a dog walk tomorrow. Feel crap today but managed cinema trip as planned. Film was a bit rubbish though!

PrincessUnderpaid · 12/02/2013 17:06

Hi JOHNNY 9 stone 5 for me, i dont mind how long it takes me to get there but im going to Mexico in July so would like to see some flab loss before then! Its a stomach/back fat issue for me, im quite muscular which i know weights more than the fat but i cant kid myself anymore - i have more rolls than gregs the bakers.

PrincessUnderpaid · 12/02/2013 17:07

Sorry about the capitals i was going for Johnny Im such a noob!

TheHumancatapult · 12/02/2013 18:16

Dancing that looks fab quite fancy a spa day

but must admit that costume not work for me i need industrial strength straps hoikes boobs from south facing position and we wont talk about lycra needed hold in my jelly belly < wonders why spanx not designed suitable costumr > I'm planning trip to Bravissmo for a new costume

Hi princess I'm tad taller at smidge under 5.7 but as I'm always sitting weight really shows ( am wheelchair user )I'm now weighing in at 10.13.7 but down from 20 stone Am aiming for around 10 stone see how feel when I get there may go bit lighter just as I need protect my shoulder

Am another mfp user but doing low calorie and low carb and do some rather intense yoga 5 days a week

Tortoise what film did you see? And yes your week made me feel tired just reading it Ugg on cold hope not linger

DancingInTheMoonlight · 12/02/2013 19:20

I def need some relaxation! After a day of cleaning I've ordered a Chinese as a treat. Not had a takeaway since new year! Going to split it in 2 or 3 and eat it over the next few nights rather than scoff it in one sitting but it will def be my splurge for a few weeks...

I can't believe how much weight you have lost!now human! I bet people hardly recognise you!

Tortoise · 12/02/2013 20:24

Human we saw Wreck it Ralph.

Had 1 pancake tonight with Nutella and butter on. Didn't realise how little milk we had left so only made one batch. Just enough for one each. Smile
