Youcanringmybell · 30/08/2012 16:08

This is a thread for those who are pig sick of over eating and binging and have decided enough is enough.

There will be no excuses on this thread...no 'oh but I was due my period' or 'oh but it was left over so I finished it' etc

IF you need to have a nice meal as part of a celebration DO IT but no more excuses - have the meal and move on.

This is a thread for the brave.....this is a thread for the serious. Join at your peril.....

Monday mornings are weigh in - so that we cannot binge on the weekends. I am deliberately being hard on myself and if you want to do it to please join. Even if someone wafts wine and banoffee pie under my nose I will not have it - even if the world is going to end I WILL NOT HAVE IT

weigh in Monday morning and post here

Oh and drink some wine and eat some choc while you still can because on Monday you will be in hell Angry

WTF?!?!? Oh my GOD!!!!! Our governors are so strictly monitored, there is no way he should be coming into your class if you don't want him to?????? I am completely outraged on your behalf...... Jaw on ground. I have a gov who comes in to help read in my year one class and he is very helpful but if he crossed the line I would have to say something, and go to the Head, it is scandalous mate!!!!!!!!!
Ooh that is so bad.
Right.
On to food now, I seem to have put on two pounds since Monday morning, hhhhmmph. Haven't eatnw loads more, I am sure a packet of maltesers and two packets of space raiders can't have that effect?!
Am pretty happy overall though.

tiggy go and empty that handful of cereal in the BIN!!!!

I have quorn sausages in the oven and am going to heat some beans up.

And we are moving on Wednesday next week so the stress will help me to lose weight!!!!

FuckityFuckFuck · 19/09/2012 20:03

Ooooo we have the tinterwebs at work now

Apart from that, I have fucked up today. I scoffed 2 chocolate bars this morning cos, despite being excited yesterday and really enjoying himself, DS clung to me this morning in floods of tears begging me to stay because he didn't like it :( So I went home and shoved 3 (3!) crumpets down my neck followed by the bastard chocolate bars :(

Bollocks, bollocks, bollocks

FermezLaBouche · 19/09/2012 20:16

Crumpets are ok arent they? Maybe not the bastard chocolate though...
And maybe not crumpets when you smother them in boursin and naice ham... An old favourite of mine, never to he repeated!

Goldidi - yeah it was pretty horrific and i dread marking their books tomorrow on my ppa. One girl told me indignantly "Mr X crossed out my work!" so if this is the case i will most defo be taking it to the head.

On another stressful note, my mum is dithering over returning £100 she still owes me and im panicking. Not only do i need petrol and NEED the money but a lovely, lovely guy from home who's 20 miles away on a weeklong course is coming tomorrow to see my new home and stay (!) I am pissed off at my mum!

Hello FatBottomedButNotForLongMavis
Ok the muffin is a minor fuckup but I reckon if you skip a meal you will feel more resentment, eventually leading to "fuck this I can't keep it up." Have some dinner!! :)

I bloody miss having a waitrose, so unfortunately won't be trying this harissa dip stuff. What is it?!

I LOVE Dominos but am limiting myself to one takeaway per month. Not that tough actually as the prices terrify me. Ooooh had a lovely one recently though. Woksupp I think it was called. Noodle bar. An abundance of perfect food for a tenner. :-D

sixchickens · 19/09/2012 20:36

Hey all,
I came across your thread when I was looking for weight loss support on the net. Been reading for a few days and have been inspired! Am currently trying to get from 13st12 down to 10st,started "diet" /new way of eating on Monday and have managed to stick to it for 3 days, and reading comments on here has really helped.
Oh, and I'll come clean and say I don't have kids but do have 6 chickens and 2 bunnies! Hope you don't mind me joining...

Youcanringmybell · 19/09/2012 20:44

sixchick hello - you are identical in weight to me and target. Welcome - you will fit in well here. NO EXCUSES you are not to give up even if you have a minor slip up. We are waging war on our wobbly bits!

I can see that perhaps our resolves are wavering a bit. It does like an age for some of you I am sure, since you ate something to really really wanted and enjoyed...but I am going to use an analogy (I am not trying to offend ANYONE that does not have children xx)

WE HAVE HAD THE ONSET OF LABOUR: we had the initial 'pain' and sense of excitement that something great is going to happen, nervous energy and well up for it.
NOW WE ARE IN TRANSITION: We are saying to ourselves that we cannot do it, we don't want to anymore, it is not worth it.....

WELL WE STARTED NOW AND THERE IS NO GOING BACK - YOU ARE ALL DOING IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks youcanringmybell :-)

Trying to limit calories each day to 1200, what is everyone else doing?

Am amazed how much better I feel already (apart from being hungry), but much better than feeling over full and sick...!

From what I've read you should all be VERY proud of yourselves!! :-) keep it up! Any tips? (might help you feel more motivated too)

Hello chickens! I am just not eating much and being hungry!!!! I just have limited food at work (teacher) and can't get out to get anymore so I am very good on work days and apart from that I am kind of in the zone and am not allowing myself to eat any shit (except on Monday as I feel like I am allowed a packet or two of space raidersWink
I weigh 14:7 now( it was 14:5 on Monday but I seem to have found two pounds since then?!?) but I started at 14:11 which for my five ft six frame is far too big and I was having to buy size 20 clothes which was a first.......
Good luck but be prepad for a roasting from youcan .......!

sixchickens · 19/09/2012 21:06

That dip looks yummy!

Think I might make some hard boiled eggs for tomorrow actually... checks mfpl for how many people in an egg

cantmakecarrotcake · 19/09/2012 21:09

Lol at that speech youcan. It didn't quite go like that for me (ecs due to failing to progress 5 days after starting my induction) so I'm hoping my equivalent analogy doesn't come true on the weight loss front!

Doing ok this week - actually I'm getting so used to cutting out the crap that it's getting easier. Having said that I fear I'm relaxing a bit and had a mini cake and a chocolate today (birthday treats at work). Hopefully I'm still heading in the right direction though.

I do still have my head in the sand about exercise. I should be doing something not only for weight loss but also for health, I've not done this much 'nothing' for years. I've been blaming having a baby but she's 20mo now and quite happy hanging out with DH so my excuses are flimsy to say the least.

sixchickens · 19/09/2012 21:11

Hi goonatic Thats really good you've lost loads already! :-) This week ive only gone out at lunch with other people to stop me buying rubbish! Think I may follow your lead and try not to go out (work near lots of shops so always tempting!)

(my predictive text has clearly gone mad... People=calories)

Goonatic · 19/09/2012 21:13

Ha ha that made me laugh!!!!! Sounds like a QI question!

Blush
sixchickens · 19/09/2012 21:34

Cantmakecarrotcake, i think that sounds very restrained for a birthday treat!

:o @ Youcan

I have never ever been in labour. DS was an emcs at 32 weeks :) Hopefully my weight loss will go like DS's arrival. I go to sleep for a couple of hours, wake up and someone else has done all the work! :o

FermezLaBouche · 19/09/2012 21:41

Hello sixchix - yes silly txtspk but am tired.
You sound like you want to lose a fair amount of weight, like me. This is by no means gospel (am very, very heavy) but I am trying to ensure that I DONT feel that horrible hunger. I just feel that makes you kind of resentful and pissed off. I am currently eating 2 slices of toast with the seeds and shit - topped with bertolli stuff.

Lunch - Soup, typically.

Tea - something homecooked and lovely but NOT accompanied by snacking.

I have a sneaking suspicion that this will work for me - in the long term, obviously, as I want to lose 5 stone, but.... we shall see.

Tortoise · 19/09/2012 22:48

Just caught up on thread.
Nose has been running all bloody day. I'm tired and grumpy and feel a bit crap.
Had chicken stir fry for dinner. Was very nice. Ended up with Dbro's stirfry as he didn't like it. He ate just the chicken lol! At least it was only veggie stuff.
Had a banana for lunch.
Having trouble with food in the daytime as i'm just not feeling hungry but feel like i should eat 'because its lunch time'!
Feeling really fat tonight too for some reason. It's going to take ages to lose all this weight and that is hard to accept. Sad

sixchickens · 20/09/2012 06:17

Tortoise, are you doing calorie controlled? I guess (hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong) that as long as you're eating enough calories it probably doesn't matter when you actually eat them? Just try and have a more positive day tomorrow, there's going to be good and less good times. I also struggle with how long its going to take to lose, especially as it was easy and quick to put it on! Not fair :(

FBL, I know what you mean, angry hunger is bad! On Tuesday I stayed late in the office and ended up having an unplanned banana to curb the hunger, but felt proud as there is a tuck shop with chocolates and crisps that I avoided!

Hope everyone has a good day

sc x

FermezLaBouche · 20/09/2012 06:22

Ecxactly - and I guess that's the crux of "emotional eating" isnt it? After getting off the phone to my mum I felt angry, stressed and panicked - and walked straight into the kitchen. If I had had anything remotely snacky in the house I'd have crammed it straight down, but making toast seemed too much of a faff.

Lovely easy day today. My PPA this morning - lots to do, but in peace and at my own pace. Then cricket coaching in for the kids this afternoon, then the nice chap coming up in the evening! :)

Youcanringmybell · 20/09/2012 07:21

Well my labour analogy probably wasn't too accurate as ut didn't happen like that for me either...and sadly I think this weight loss will take longer than even the most bastard labours!!

What's everyone getting up to in the evenings to keep themselves from snacking? I am getting away with keeping myself busy knitting my dd patchwork blanket and so have a cup of tea and either a yoghurt or some iced gems. I just got some hot chocolate to have instead.

Tortoise · 20/09/2012 07:59

Sixchickens No just try to eat healthily and eat less.

Fermez Sounds like your in for a good day. And evening! Is this a friend or a 'friend' [winks]! Lol

Evenings I watch tv or mn while working. Not finding I want to snack lately. I think I need to do more exercise but I don't know when.

tiggy114 · 20/09/2012 10:17

I am going to ask a crackers question. Apart from missed periods how would you know you were pregnant? It's highly unlikely as i was on implant. But my belly is very big and i look very pregnant which is why i kickstarted the diet and joined this thread. I don't have regular periods. Havn't had one in 3 years but still conceived DD in this time. So def not infirtile. I'm not ready to face a pregnancy test yet. I think i'm going mad. Tell me i'm just a fatty lol. The chances are slim since the implant plus a co sleeping baby makes DTD rare! Grin

Youcanringmybell · 20/09/2012 11:26

Tiggy - symptoms

Extra fatigue
Metallic taste in mouth
Sleep disruption
Hardened abdomen
Headaches
Breast pain
Cramps
Change in appetite in that you never fancy anything but feel hungry...

I am still have some symptoms, period is a bit late I think and have done two tests last week...may do another one soon ;-/ Lots of these symptoms can be pyt down to dieting and or stress though.

We could do a joint test? This thread has definitely taken a weird turn.........
