The NO EXCUSES, Now or NEVER slimming thread

Youcanringmybell · 30/08/2012 16:08

This is a thread for those who are pig sick of over eating and binging and have decided enough is enough.

There will be no excuses on this thread...no 'oh but I was due my period' or 'oh but it was left over so I finished it' etc

IF you need to have a nice meal as part of a celebration DO IT but no more excuses - have the meal and move on.

This is a thread for the brave.....this is a thread for the serious. Join at your peril.....

Monday mornings are weigh in - so that we cannot binge on the weekends. I am deliberately being hard on myself and if you want to do it to please join. Even if someone wafts wine and banoffee pie under my nose I will not have it - even if the world is going to end I WILL NOT HAVE IT

weigh in Monday morning and post here

Oh and drink some wine and eat some choc while you still can because on Monday you will be in hell Angry

EVERYONE SO FAR HAS LOST - HOW AMAZING IS THAT!!!!!

fermez my word, wish I could just stop. I am in the same boat re the stessful work situation (you would laugh though as everyone thinks my job is a walk in the park), plus I am bored, oh so very bored in the evenings Confused.

FermezLaBouche · 10/09/2012 20:31

Boredom I totally get. I know for a fact that getting a new and better job has influenced me too, as I'm determined to do well and progress, whereas in last job I was pushed out and bullied.
However, I've been going to bed quite early since starting this NEW LIFESTYLE. Like, 9pm, which doesn't give me much time to fuck things up, scuse French, if I get home at 5:30ish.

If I'd received this lovely bunch of shopping 3 months ago when things were shit at work I can guarantee I would have eaten half the stilton now, be half way through the red wine and be planning a massive gin to take to bed. :(

kaytola · 10/09/2012 20:32

Weighed in this morning - a poxy 1/2 a pound lost. Still a loss is a loss eh?

FermezLaBouche · 10/09/2012 20:36

YES - a loss is a loss! How much are you aiming to lose, Kaytola?

Mrs3chins · 10/09/2012 20:36

Well done everyone on their losses!! It's great what a bit of motivating and encouragement can do!
I haven't been able to weigh today as my dad's borrowed my scales. However I had it in my head that I was starting today - hence a bad weekend full of naughty food and drink so I'm not going to bother. Next week will be my first weigh in.
I'm starting to following slimming world today. My friend has loaned me the books and I'm really excited about it, looks relatively easy to do and everyone I know who's done it has lost loads of weight so fingers crossed!!

thegreylady · 10/09/2012 20:44

I weigh 12stones 4lbs
Every week I go to Weight Watchers-between June 20th and now I have lost only 7lbs and have been stuck for 3 weeks-even creeping up a half pound.
I am fed up.
I am starving all the time.
I crave [but dont eat] chocolate, chips and cake.
I need help.
I want to get to 10stones 7 lbs eventually.
I am 68 yrs old and 5ft 32" tall.

Tschiffely · 10/09/2012 20:49

fermez, I am where you were at iyswim, job and loneliness p'ing me off [hopes for change]. Your goodie delivery is amazing and hi 5 to you for holding off from inhaling the lot.

kaytola any loss is a loss, that 1/2lb is 1/2lb YOU WILL NEVER SEE AGAIN.

Goldidi · 10/09/2012 20:52

Mrs SW is really fab. That's what I'm doing (vaguely, haven't followed it completely this week).

kaytola any loss is good and you will probably find that you have a bigger loss next week.

fermez happy birthday for tomorrow. That delivery sounds great, enjoy it and take everything you think is dangerous to school to share (we love birthdays at my school, always yummy food to share)

FermezLaBouche · 10/09/2012 21:04

I hope for a change for you soon Tschiffely - you need something to look forward to! It's a bit sad but on my 25 min drive to work I listen to loud music and envisage myself going home and walking into an Xmas do somewhere looking noticeably slimmer and gorgeous (in my fantasy anyway!)

Would never laugh at anyone's job as I am on the end of many silly job comments myself. What's your current and target weights out of interest? I think I'm currently around 18 bastard stone and just cannot be any more.

Thanks for the wishes Goldidi - the cake and stilton are packed up and ready to go!!

Well done everyone for a good week - WE WILL BANISH THE FAT ROLLS TO THE FIERY PITS OF HELL!!!! Off to bed now - night everyone

Tortoise · 10/09/2012 21:48

My willpower is getting a serious bashing tonight, I am fighting back.
My fat is telling me I deserve a treat for doing well! My head is saying no don't do it! Head will win!

FuckityFuckFuck · 10/09/2012 22:34

thegreylady Welcome :) Have a good read through, cos everybody is doing something different, you might find something that will suit you better than WW. I lurve chocolate, cakes, crisps, biscuits etc, everything that is bad for you but I am determined to lose weight so I have stocked up on fruit (strawberries are good, as are frozen grapes because they are really sweet).

Kaytola any loss is good because it is weight you will never see again :)

Tortoise Go head!! I think it will be a difficult few days for me for the same reason FAT IS EVIL AND WE ARE NOT GOING TO LISTEN TO IT ANYMORE

Fermez Happy birthday for tomorrow, banish the BASTARD stilton and just think, next year you are going to be slimmer and even more fabulous than this year

I've just had to do a mad tidy up cos I've got the gas man coming round in the morning to do my yearly check - still, probably burnt off loads of calories. I've just done some more pedalling, mfp is not happy with me because it reckons I still have 900 calories to eat today Shock I've had lunch, dinner and a couple of snacks! I can't eat anymore! Will have a hot chocolate instead and sod mfp :o

I make it that everybody lost today :o How brilliant is that! Youcan will be very pleased with us all :o

Youcanringmybell · 11/09/2012 07:39

I am VERY pleased with it all Grin
You have all been fantastic!!

I have a bit of bad news...I am going to be a little more absent this week and I will not be weighing in Monday due to last minute plans with my husband. As you know he is deploying for 6 months at the weekend and we want to have a few days out together while children at school and have dinner/ lunch etc. We have a small party for which I am making cake etc and I fully expect to put back on the 3 pounds that I lost...

I AM STILL WITH YOU - I WILL NOT LEAVE YOU AND I AM NOT GIVING UP - i have to put things on hold for a few days because I feel in limbo until I am on my own and can put my needs first. I must say I am beginning to feel a little down now the time is approaching for him to go.

Next Monday I am attacking the diet and will make up for lost time.

Now it is YOUR TURN TO SHOUT AT ME Sad

Tortoise · 11/09/2012 07:43

I won't shout at you youcan. Enjoy your time with dh before he goes. Focus on weight loss after.

Tschiffely · 11/09/2012 07:57

bell hope things are ok. Put weight loss on hold for now and have a good time with dh.

fermez Happy Birthday, hope you have a great day. Weight wise, I am 11 6 but I am short so I look dumpy. Size wise I am 16/18. Am thinking that I want to be around 10.

nankypeevy · 11/09/2012 08:03

I'm scunnered. Not been very well - and so I'm not coping with the kids. DH is a lovely man, but he is, well, a man.

So, yesterday was a fast day - and I hoovered up everything that the kids leftover (including jelly and icecream) because I felt so rotten I couldn't concentrate, and FORGOT I was supposed to be feeling hungry!

Today, I am sad and annoyed and defeated because I am supposed to get some exercise in this morning - and I am not well. Ridiculous! Am going to give myself a break, go to bed, get better and then start again in a couple of days.

Anyone else have a train of thought that follows "oh buggrit. I've screwed up again. Might as well eat everything in sight and wait in a syrupy stupor for my early death"?

Well done, all of you. This thread is very motivating.

Tortoise · 11/09/2012 09:20

Nanky I regularly had that thought which is why I gained sooo much weight. Thanks to this thread I'm beating that thought. Posting here instead stops me because I don't want youcan to tell me off lol.

I feel like I'm walking around with a spring in my step. Did a sort of power walk home from school drop off. In my head I was thinking, in a few months, I'm not going to look fat anymore. I will be thinner! Grin

Tortoise · 11/09/2012 13:18

Had salad leaves and chicken again for lunch.
Just been a little naughty and had a home made choc chip cookie Blush. Actually found it really sweet and not as good as they used to taste. I used to eat 2 or 3 in one go.

Youcanringmybell · 11/09/2012 13:27

You lot are my new bezzies Thanks

I feel like I have left you all in the lurch...but this will only last until Sunday and then I will ask for you all to kick me up my significantly large backside.

I want my husband to come home to a size 12 lady - not the flabby large size 16 lady he has left.

you are all doing so very well - you are ON YOUR WAY to HEALTH and HAPPINESS

Thanks Thanks

Youcan You can do it! We will all be here when you come back Smile.

Even more surprised i lost 5Lbs now as time of the month has appeared! Oh lucky me lol. Normally eat more during so it could be a tougher few days!

LetLoveRule · 11/09/2012 19:24

Youcan enjoy the time with you DH! We will all be here for you.

I am starting to get those familiar longings to raid the cupboard at 4pm, but so far staving it off. So glad I didn't have any biscuits in (poor dcs!) - I would have scoffed the lot!

Goonatic · 11/09/2012 21:35

Good luck youcan hope you have a good few days and don't feel too sad.

I have an emergency packet of dates at work, so sweet and quite gross so I only eat a few! I had the fattest vege burger sandwiches last night with that Leerdammer cheese, I was v naughty and had two.... Throwback from old ww days when my BF and I used to go to the pub and eat cheese and drink beers after weighing in but NO MORE!
I felt really over full and rather disgusting too. I taught PE to my class today and felt self conscious showing them how to stretch and jog... Bless them they are only small but another incentive. They were very impressed when I picked up one of the balance table things over my head though.... Grin easily pleased!

Am super hungry now which is good because I need to be!!!!

fuckity I keep listening to songs wondering if you will like them!!!!!!

Tortoise · 11/09/2012 21:57

I had a filling dinner or ham and leek in white sauce topped with mash.
Haven't thought about eating anything else all evening.

FermezLaBouche · 12/09/2012 06:20

Morning all, just checking in. I kind of hid yesterday as it all went to pot due to birthday dinner. Ahem steak and ahem wine.
Back on the straight and narrow today. Am forcing down some vile cereal I thought I'd try - now I've got a whole kilo of the stuff! Soup for lunch and something simple and GOOD for dinner. NO MORE SLIPS!!!!

Tortoise · 12/09/2012 07:05

Hope you had a good birthday fermez. There's bound to be days where there is no way to avoid an unhealthy meal. As long as we get back to normal the next day we will still get thin Smile.

I hope people don't disappear too often. I might need someone around to shout at me if I'm having a bad day lol.

LetLoveRule · 12/09/2012 07:05

Goon I've tried the Leerdamer light slices - mmmmm. Thanks for the recommendation. With gherkins, of course!
