Started SW today. Think I did the diet correctly; not entirely convinced. Anyone else out there doing SW?

nannycook I wish I could be one of these women that leaves a fun size bag of milky ways in the cupboard and eats one a day, but sadly I know I'd stay up late one night on my own and work my way through the bag.

DH has offered to hide them and give me one a night, I don't think he realises the danger he could face.

I did WW 2 years ago, and I lost a lot of weight, however when you stop counting points the weight for me just started to creep back on. I have PCOS so weight loss is a real battle, and I am trying to integrate something easier into my life for the long term.

Now that DH and I have our heads round the EE plan, it has sort of slotted into our lives.

The only thing I miss about WW is the fact that you could exercise for more points.

I once really fancied a WW choccy eclair, I'd used all my points so I ran up and down the stairs until it defrosted and I had burnt off the 3 points. Grin

I wheighed myself this morning, one pound ON! I am a hopeless case. So embarrasing Blush

slightlycrumpled · 12/08/2012 07:30

Stick with it Pana, by the time weigh day comes round I'm sure you will have lost. Different scales tell different stories!

I was doing so well yesterday until an ice cream incident. Oops. Still today is a new day. I really, really need to start exercising now. I just don't know what or when, which I know is a cop out but I don't Blush.

Hope everyone has a good day today. Having Aldi lamb shanks for dinner, they ate meant to be gorgeous and only 3.5 syns as they are in a rosemary and mint sauce. Now - to avoid the wine that I would like to have with them!
Smile

nannycook · 12/08/2012 20:20

Hi everyone, a week on and i'm eating a fair bit, which is good but what if i have'nt lost weight?

nannycook · 12/08/2012 20:35

HA HA , MyinnergoddessisatLidl, your so like me, you really are.

ImperialBlether · 13/08/2012 08:19

Three days of SW and four pounds off. Grin

slightlycrumpled · 13/08/2012 08:52

That's great imperial! Hope I get similar results. Have just cooked breakfast as a treat for the kids and had bacon, egg & mushrooms myself. Hard to believe that I am full but haven't used any healthy extras or syns.

Panadbois · 13/08/2012 10:26

I've been for my first WI this morning, and, drum roll.... 3 and a half off!!
so happy Grin, thats with a bbq (plus wine), ice cream and half a chicken korma a naan!!
So made up!

I know that I have been eating loads of fruit. last week I was reaching for chocolates, crisps and cakes for treats and snacks, and that's made a hell of a difference!

MyinnergoddessisatLidl · 13/08/2012 10:49

Well done Panad - I lost a pound this week which I was very pleased about as I had to take some pills for an upset stomach whilst away with work (always happens to me when stuck in a hotel and a series of meetings!) and I've felt bloated and awful all week.

Panadbois · 13/08/2012 10:53

Thank you. you feeling any better?

MyinnergoddessisatLidl · 13/08/2012 13:24

I'm feeling much better today thanks!

TMI - I had to take immodium, as I was working and it was all I had on me. At home I'd have just ridden it out. Uggh, I've felt so sluggish all week, and just wanted to live on crackers and bread.

So I tried sticking to one colour so I could have more carbs but when you feel like that you just want to comfort eat.

Still a little lost, and a good start today. I've made a slimming world style syn free Bircher Muesli, which fills me up for hours and then I made a fab lunch - bulgar wheat salad, homemade felafel (from the World recipe cookbook) and a fat free mint and chilli yogurt dip.

I am getting a bit sick of yoghurts though. I've been through every flavour and brand of 0.1% fat here (can't get Mullerlight in this country), plain yog and fruit etc.

What does everyone do for a low syn alternative?

ImperialBlether · 13/08/2012 16:33

Right, I'm at danger time now.

This is the fourth day.

I was up at 6 to drive my daughter to the station. Then had to drive my son to his flat, 40 miles away. Just got back. Dishes are dirty. SW food is in the fridge - I was going to make shepherds pie. Have the makings of the SW quiche but have eaten two over the last three days. I'm tired and really want someone to just give me something to eat!

I'd rather go to the supermarket than tackle the kitchen and cook something.

Can anyone suggest anything I could buy that is free (SW-wise, that is!) and that I don't have to cook? I don't mind shoving something in an oven.

HowlonguntilFriday · 13/08/2012 16:40

Ready cooked chicken and noodles/veg? Bit of soy sauce. Mmmm.

Panadbois · 13/08/2012 19:34

Well I'm having a mugshot for tea as I had lunch out with friends. But, I made loads of mash for my family's tea, so tomorrow I shall fry some with fry light, add 25g of cheddar, loads of bacon, and have some beans and FL fried egg. Ymmmmmm.

I do extra new potatoes too, and have them fried in FL or roasted the next day. No good for you tonight though Imperial, sorry!

ImperialBlether · 13/08/2012 20:11

Well, I've been very good. I've sat here and had two lemonade ice lollies (love them!) and then went to cook some more quiches.

I know from experience that this is the day when I start to give up, so I was determined not to mess it up.

Panadbois · 13/08/2012 20:52

I don't have much staying power either usually. Hoping this time it'll be different!

peonypeony · 13/08/2012 23:28

Hi everyone! Back after a week away. Well, been doing SW now for 7 days and have lost..........7lbs! Brilliant, although have been eating pretty similar food each day!
Made a huge pot of 'veg soup' today and have pigged out on that. Delicious and no syns. Been out tonight so tucking into couscous and chicken now. Can't be bothered to get out salad too Blush.

OP posts:
ImperialBlether · 13/08/2012 23:32

Good for you, peony! I'm on day 4 and find I'm eating the same food all the time, though that's because I'm lazy. Tomorrow will be different!

What's in your vegetable soup? I need to do that.

peonypeony · 13/08/2012 23:37

I just put over a kilo of mixed veg in a big pot (onion, leeks, celery, carrots and potatoes) and a litre and a quarter of veg stock. Brought up to the boil and simmered for two hours. Used a stick blender to blend half of it and this left loads of lumps, which I love in soup. Delicious, filling and hopefully nutritious too (polishes halo!)

peonypeony · 13/08/2012 23:44

I'm going to make more effort to eat more fruit tomorrow. Have bought melons, watermelon, cherries and raspberries but not eaten any yet! Must make a start on them tomorrow.

OP posts:
ImperialBlether · 13/08/2012 23:46

I've been eating fruit first thing, to make sure I do. You've got enough for a nice fruit salad there!

peonypeony · 13/08/2012 23:49

Exactly! It's just making the effort isn't it? So much easier to rip open a chocolate bar or three rather than preparing all the fruit. Was good this evening - went to pub and managed to make a pint of diet coke and ice last two hours Grin. Kind of wish I hadn't bothered to eat my supper when I got in but have a fear of not eating enough on this diet and my body going into 'starvation' mode and not letting go of the fat!

OP posts:
TellyBug · 13/08/2012 23:52

I eat the same breakfast and lunch every day and plan my meals for the week. It's the only way!

peonypeony · 13/08/2012 23:55

How long have you been doing it for TB? After a week and losing 7lbs I have a loooooonnnnnggggg way to go but am hopeful Smile.

OP posts:
ImperialBlether · 13/08/2012 23:58

Yes, once I'm back at work it's going to be the same breakfast and lunch each day. Can't be doing with thinking about it all the time.
