I know, it's pretty bad isn't it? It's not actually sweetened so I guess the carbs must be starches in the cereals.

duchesse · 14/03/2012 20:58

I just checked the side of the tin and it says it's 81.2 g of carb per 100g of which 5.9g is sugars. However you don't have very much of it- a standard serving is 2.2g, of which 1.8g is carbs of which 0.1g is sugars. I probably have 6-7 of those servings a day with a splash of milk and a lot of water in each.

TheOriginalGlitterKitty · 14/03/2012 22:03

Today I have lost all interest in food, but re-awakened my interest in gin.

Breakfast: 2 cold sausages
Lunch: Small cheese salad
Dinner: 2 cold sausages & 2 g&slimlineTs.

No snacks. Tomorrow I weigh. Really hoping to be a little bit more down... Oh, can you take those physillum things after dinner? Or does something dreadful happen?

PrincessTamTam · 14/03/2012 22:14

Well yesterday in my depression I caved and ate a mini kitkat (which I don't even like) and a mini packet of chocolate stars (which I do).... then I felt like crap for being so weak.

Today did not feel like eating so had similar day to you Glitter, bits of cheese, herb omlette and a coffee with non lacto milk... sadly did not think of the gin!

Then this eve went mad with roast chicken, celeriac dauph and broccoli, followed by 4 large strawberries and cream... not tooooo bad???
Actually could murder a vod and slimline... but not got any in - neat gin it is then, sigh. Grin

SeriousWispaHabit · 14/03/2012 22:19

Aaarrgghhh, stupid buffet-retirement-for-the-senior-partner at lunchtime today. Resisted most of it but it was mainly homemade and delicious looking which didn't help.

Hoping I lose weight for the carbs I didn't eat (cake I had made in the shape of a doctor's bag, hazelnut and chic meringue, carrot cake, lemon drizzle cake, sandwiches and crisps) and that the few carbs I did consume (less than 1 inch square of gingerbread) will not manifest themselves as a weight gain tomorrow. I otherwise was very good and ate quiche middles, smoked salmon wheel things and crudités with dip.

DH has just eaten chicken kievs, wedges and peas, followed by some leftover hazelnut meringue I brought home. I have had chinese style pork mince wrapped in iceberg lettuce. It was ok but I am v miserable due to watching lots of people eat delicious cake all day and I want to make a toasted chocolate spread, peanut butter and banana sandwich. I need to brush my teeth and go to bed before I crack.

TheOriginalGlitterKitty · 14/03/2012 22:30

peanut butter on lettuce/celery and off to bed Serious. You did VERY well.

Princess- I envy you the choc. Still feel utterly determined to get this weight off so hae not cracked again.

Tommorow I start the SHRED.

CointreauVersial · 14/03/2012 23:24

This morning I went for a run, then I have eaten the following:

Breakfast - berries, greek yogurt and almonds
Lunch - veggie sticks and tzatziki
Dinner - steak with broccoli

And a sneaky piece of Lindt Touch of Seasalt dark chocolate.

I have a work night out tomorrow night in Brighton - we are going to a posh Indian restaurant, followed by casino and hotel, and I intend to eat whatever comes my way (I did all the planning, and I shall be letting my hair down accordingly).

I have made some virtuous soup for lunch, though.......

Good luck with the Shred, Glitterkitty!

lemniscate · 14/03/2012 23:25

I have eaten about 3 tonnes of food today. I dont know why i was so hungry - this diet has been keeping me remarkably satisfied all week. All low carb, but no way it will be burned off by tomorrows official weigh in!

My mini goal is to weigh on my 5th wedding anniversary (a week on sat) what I did when I got married. I needed to lose 10lbs from my starting weight to do this so fingers crossed for a good loss tomorrow!

BornToShopForcedToWork · 15/03/2012 07:34

Had my weigh-in today and I am 1 lbs down, seven in total! Couldn't be any happier!

lemniscate · 15/03/2012 08:19

Weigh in this morning. 5 1/2 lbs off. Would have been even better but for the snackfest yesterday, but brilliant for week 1. I've also lost 2-3cm everywhere, even including my calves - I was clearly really bloated!

BIWI · 15/03/2012 08:23

Brilliant!

Scales back up again for me today - by 1.75lbs. But I know this is the danger of daily weighing, so I'm trying to be sanguine about it. I know I haven't been cheating with my food, so there's no problem.

Since I started back on this WOE properly I have been keeping a spreadsheet of my daily weighing and when weight has started to move this is definitely what seems to happen for me - and sudden drop of 3lbs, followed by a little gain, and then downward movement again.

No idea why, but it definitely proves something that India/Neris write about in the Idiot Proof Diet, that weight loss is not linear.

TheRealMrsHannigan · 15/03/2012 09:04

Had my weigh in today and am 5lbs down :)

Very pleased and hoping it continues in this direction.

Yesterday I had scrambled egg for breakfast, lunch was salad leaves, roasted herby chicken thigh and a bit of the chicken caesar salad that was in the salad bar (I picked out the croutons though).

I got home and just wasn't hungry at all so I picked at a few slices of ham and that was it. My appetite has most definitely shrunk!

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 15/03/2012 09:14

Feel much more like myself today (still having weird n wacky dreams though)

After dropping DD at school I realised that my jeans were falling down, thought I had put a bigger size on, got home and pulled them off without even undoing the button or zip, had a look and they are my 'slimmer' size smaller jeans.

RESULT!

kandinskysgirl · 15/03/2012 09:52

Weigh in yesterday and I am 6lb down Smile. I did have some vino at the weekend and its TOTM so maybe I could have lost slightly more if I had been very strict but I am pretty happy.

I really need to work on the exercise as I haven't been doing any at all. I have the Shred DVD but haven't done it-do people think just doing this every other day would be ok? I really don't have the money to join a gym or anything.

TheOriginalGlitterKitty · 15/03/2012 09:56

Day 14 and weigh day, have lost 8.5lbs so far, my goal is 3lbs a week from now on. Have another 3stone 4lbs to go. The nice weather is helping as i look like a hippo at moment in everything! But this is the fattest ill be this year!

AngryFeet · 15/03/2012 10:00

God my weight is going down slowly. I have to say I do lose much faster than this on a low cal diet. I thought this was meant to be a bit faster?

The only thing that might be holding me back is vodka and coke zero. Trying to wean myself off it but having a stressful time right now.

On the plus size my stomach is so much smaller now I am not bloated from carbs. I looked about 6 months pregnant before but now I look about 3 Grin. Also lose 2 inches off waist, 1 off hips and 1 off each thigh.

BIWI · 15/03/2012 10:52

Alcohol (sadly) will definitely slow you down - as well as the Coke, I'm afraid!

Glad you're feeling better today, Jax, and RESULT! Grin

FreeButtonBee · 15/03/2012 11:30

Hi guys, not been a great week here. I have been very very low for various reasons but think I've snapped out of it now. Was heading towards booze-as-the-answer so I thought yesterday that it was probably more sensible to go back to carbs-as-the-answer instead - less of a headache this morning even if the scales are less pleasing!

Weight is up 3lb from last week, which is annoying but not unexpected.

I am going to have a massive chicken salad lunch today and then DH is away tonight so will have asian duck salad.

Nothing much planned for the weekend - apart from watching a lot of rugby. I need to go for a decent run tonight and over the weekend as the exercise has been a bit lax apart from cycling to work yesterday (which to be fair is 18k in total).

PostBellumBugsy · 15/03/2012 13:23

Another 1lb down. Even though I'm glad it is coming off, I feel very blobby today, as TOTM/AF is due any second now. Feel all water retentiony and tummyish. Have updated the list of losers!

TheGoddessBlossom · 15/03/2012 14:10

I have a big bowl of porridge every morning. With hot water. SOOOO convenient and I actually really like it.

I don't get the advice you see on "low carb for dummies type sites" - they recommend snacks such as apples/oranges/grapes/handful of raisins - surely all fruit apart from berries is really high in (natural) sugar and so to be avoided on lo carb plans?

TheGoddessBlossom · 15/03/2012 14:11

We eat Kale loads here, you can get bags of mixed kale and leek in Tescos, delish cooked with butter.

PostBellumBugsy · 15/03/2012 14:28

Yes, fruit is high carb. Berries are the lowest. Dried fruit is full of sugar & grapes are pretty much off the scale.
Umm, Goddess isn't porridge full of carbs too - or are you making it with one of the low carb substitutes?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 15/03/2012 14:36

still in the zone here Grin

QueenStromba · 15/03/2012 15:37

I fell off the wagon yesterday and had some sushi for lunch. It was lovely but wasn't worth the guilt and not feeling great afterwards. I actually weighed 4 pounds more this morning than I did yesterday! Back on the wagon today, had a bunless burger from GBK for lunch and have bought some minted lamb chops to have with broccoli and kale tonight. Didn't have breakfast because I got up too late because I couldn't sleep last night - probably the carbs, I've been sleeping so much better since I've been on this diet.

BIWI · 15/03/2012 15:39

Look you lot - there seems to be a lot of slippage going on at the moment.

It really, really won't help! This WOE is not as forgiving as a calorie-counting diet.

All that will happen is that you put weight back on and will be back here feeling cross and sorry for yourselves! Grin

Sorry to wag the finger, especially as it's not my thread (apols, Queen!) but it has to be said!
