Brand new thread for the chatterboxes successful dieters supporting each other :)

Old thread is here

Wonder if this one will last until my 50th birthday? (beginning of April)

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 17/03/2011 18:38

then ignore bebe make her go and get clean clothes and take wet/dirty ones to machine and say nothing

RatherBeOnThePiste · 17/03/2011 18:48

I think Bebe that if she is saying she is scared that there may be an element of truth in it. It is an odd thing for small children to say iyswim.

Some children really cannot bear the sensation of having a poo on a loo/ potty and it can be really upsetting. I bet if you went on a behaviour thread and said my DD says she is scared by this and will only do poos in her Knicks then youd get people with similar experiences.

Looking back I think DS felt unhappy with it but he didn't verbalise it. It sounds like she knows what is expected but can't do it at the moment. It could make her really anxious if you push her and battle her. I don't believe, as i don't believe with my son, that she is doing this to he difficult or blatantly naughty. Do you ?! Try on a behaviour thread Bebe.

Fingers crossed everyone, DD is rowing in the National Junior sculling head tomorrow at Eton's Dorney Lake ( Olympic venue ) v v excited daugher!

smokinaces · 17/03/2011 19:07

Piste, am really glad your family are coming over.

Bebe, how old is your DD? My friends little boy is 4 and still wont poo on a potty, he has a real thing about it.

I've been fairly good today. Had my favourite honey and mustard chicken for dinner - so yummy and easy to cook.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/03/2011 19:09

piste go dd tomorrow :)

bebejones · 17/03/2011 19:55

I've been chatting on a PT thread about it. I know it's not uncommon. DD is a bit of a Drama Queen though (v v OTT about alot of things because she thinks it's funny) & I know it's a bit of a trumpet blowing thing to say, but she is quite clever (often too smart for her own good!) She can do it & is really proud of herself for doing it, especially when she has asked to go & poo, she's just not consistant. Sometimes she gets a real paddy on about doing it & tries every trick in the book to get out of it & to get her own way! I'm trying to be v laid back about it, but with feeling like crap it's been getting to me & winding me up & she has been playing up to it! I even asked her (don't shout at me) if she wanted a nappy to poo in & she said 'No, I don't want to wear nappies anymore!' Just going to persevere. Think toy removal for pooey pants is the next step. If she had never pooed on the toilet I'd be inclined to be a bit more 'oh she doesn't like it/ understand' but she started off brilliantly doing it no worries at all and she has done it on and off, but starting to be more off than on now IYSWIM?

Ok, I'm ranting now! I shall stop! Wink

Piste - Yay for your DD!!! Wow!

Was going to make chilli but didn't have a green pepper! So had chciken noodle soup & pitta bread! Just gonna have some more fruit salad now :)

Smalline · 17/03/2011 22:10

Excellent news about your family Piste.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 18/03/2011 06:30

ONe pound on here. Need to get my act together. I will update the list later.

bebejones · 18/03/2011 07:27

I sts which is a miracle!!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/03/2011 08:28

ditto piste

im pissed off, put on a lb, and was within my weekies (just)

i know i cant eat all 49 and lose weight, but ww says you can and it pisses me off that others can and i cant

its false advertising Shock

smokinaces · 18/03/2011 09:55

I put on 1lb too. Not surprised - had cake and biscuits nearly every day (was DS's birthday last Friday and the cake lasted a week!) and Chinese on Sunday. And was surprised to have lost that pound the previous week. But am still under 11 1/2 and am happy.Just need to hit it hard in the next few weeks!

Blondes, I cant eat the recommended 2000 cals/70g fat as I put on heaps of weight. I cant see how 49 weeklys would work across the board when everyone is different?

GettinTrimmer · 18/03/2011 14:12

this pt can be stressful bebe, but rest assured she WILL do it when she's ready. ds would only do it when he said to me one day "poos are dirty aren't they Mummy?" then I said that's why we have the potty and toilet! Something just clicked. I can't remember exactly how old he was but I was getting concerned that he wouldn't do it in time for pre-school but then he sorted it.

Don't ban me from the slinks association everyone but I have been completely rubbish to the extent that I haven't weighed in at all today Blush

Piste, we will have to go for a virtual run together. I am a naughty slink atm.

GettinTrimmer · 18/03/2011 14:14

Sorry about gains piste/blondes/smokin.

Just going to read the rest of the chat since I was last on.

GettinTrimmer · 18/03/2011 14:22

I did bump into the dcs nursery manager the other day and she was generally chatting about childcare and said giving them chocolate after doing a poo on the potty can work if that's the ONLY time they get chocolate. Perhaps that's why bribery didn't work for me!

bebejones · 18/03/2011 14:22

Sorry bout gains ladies!

TBH It is a complete miracle I didn't gain! Not quite sure how I fluked that one?! Confused

Trying to be really calm today with DD and the PT situation. Have been lovely! :o No poo so far, but I'm hoping that gentle coaxing & a couple more reads of 'Poo goes to Pooland' (!!) might help. :)

RatherBeOnThePiste · 18/03/2011 14:57

GT - you should just weigh in every week so you know what you are doing.

Yes Blondes, the womens only one. fingers crossed!

and yes, hanging head in shame. but I will be off them until Easter Sunday again - 1 slip up isnt too bad, just think of me having a Sunday break a couple of days early!

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/03/2011 12:34

i would give something else up tbh

GettinTrimmer · 19/03/2011 13:35

Blondes, I've just weighed in this morning, not at all bad, I sts.

Are you on 29 points today?

Smokin well done for committing to a race. I did the race for life a couple of years ago, I don't know if you were around at the time, but also did the Great South Run in October. I am going to look for a 10K race to aim for.

Househunting is not going well atm, we've got buyers for ours, but can't agree on the right house, one is on a busy road which is always busy, if not with traffic then always with all sorts of people walking up and down as it's a thoroughfare into town, but a good house anyway, the other is on a very quiet cul de sac, but north facing garden and parking not ideal. But I love the house and dh doesn't. We need Kirsty and Phil! Hmm
