Trimmer he is under the hospital as it keeps popping in and out. Off out for a few Wine tonight.

GettinTrimmer · 26/02/2011 20:05

Don't blame you laughalot.

Did your friend tell them how she did it Blondes? I'd have to say it was something I'd eaten.

I think I have gained, dh said I look like I've put a little bit on so may weigh in tomorrow - I have to say I can feel it round my middle.

Piste, how's the running? Hope dd is home. How is her friend?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 27/02/2011 07:51

Yawn.

Had a very early start today collecting DD from Heathrow at 5.30, they've been on the school ski trip to Colorado. Envy

I am so happy she is back safe and sound. It is a long way away at 13, and a lot of air travel. I really didn't feel happy about her being on a plane without us [pathetic] Obviously I would never say that to her and we all want our DC to be ambitious and confident. But inside it's hard! They have had a brilliant time. Lucky!!

Thank you GT - her friend is doing very well and has been discharged from the specialist. Massive progress but it will continue to be part of their lives. She was not skiing because she would quite literally snap if she fell, unlike the others who just bounce and splat!

Have a good day Slinks!

bebejones · 27/02/2011 09:22

Morning all!
Shock at Blondes friend!! Poor MrLaughalot! Ouch!

Piste - glad DD is back safe. Did she have a good time? I never really thought that my parents would worry about me going away on my own (you don't when you are young do you). I went on loads of holidays abroad without them! Skiing twice with school, skiing with my Godmother, watersports with school & various adventure holidays too. All involving flying! Never batted an eyelid but my mum has since told me she was in bits everytime I left! :(

Yesterday was a tiny bit of a write off with DHs big work launch thingy. (I did the food & made a big cake.) Have tried to start well here toda, but we are off to BILs this pm to watch the football, I doubt there will be anything healthy to eat! Hmm

So far - breakfast: Large bowl of fruit salad & 2tbsp of low fat vanilla yoghurt, half glass OJ.

Lunch - probably a toasted bagel with reduced fat crunchy peanut butter & a banana :)

Hope everyone has a lovely day, the sun is shining here...long may it last! :)

RatherBeOnThePiste · 27/02/2011 09:34

Thank you Bebe, yes a fab time was had and happily for the teachers there were no significant injuries to any of the school party! DD is a competent skier and did lots of off piste in powder snow, black runs, moguls and had great fun doing freestyle for the first time, off jumps, grinding rails etc. Am sooo envious!

And Bebe - when your DD goes off on a plane without you, then you will know how your mum felt and be full of empathy!!!!

bebejones · 27/02/2011 11:03

My mum still panics when I do anything on my own, especially driving anywhere! So I guess it doesn't ever really stop!

Ooooops, had some mint aero! Damn MIL for bringing us chocolate! Angry

smokinaces · 27/02/2011 11:28

feeling a bit worse for wear here.

drunk a bottle of wine last night. To be fair it was only 5.5%, mixed with sparkling water - but after that I had a few glasses of normal. and ate the buffet (mmmm, mozzerella balls) Good night, not so good on the stomach.

and now woken up with another cold.

But left my car there. and its a good 3-4miles up a lot of hills. The sun is shining so I am going to walk it later in a vain attempt to get rid of the calories from last night before tomorrow's weigh in.

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/02/2011 11:52

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/02/2011 17:10

anyone here?

prettyfly1 · 27/02/2011 17:18

Hi blondes I was just checking in - first week in and lost three pounds, even though to be honest I havent been as good as I could. I find it soooo hard to avoid butter and bread! Has anyone got any good tips for eating out as well?

I dont know if anyone else finds this but as soon as i say "I am on a diet", its like all I can think about is bad, awful, naughty food - why, oh why, does it all taste so good?????????

prettyfly1 · 27/02/2011 17:18

Are you all on any specific diets btw?

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/02/2011 18:44

Well done prettyfly on 3lb loss - that's fab

I'm doing ww as is trimmer

Bebe was doing calorie counting

Piste and Laughalot and other pretty I can't rem but sure they use food focus

It confuses my blonde brain having same name as pretty :(

smokinaces · 27/02/2011 21:28

well done prettyfly

blondes, was off trying to get to my car - the walk was so steep, at one point I wasnt sure my legs were actually moving!

Did 45mins exercise at home tonight, but still dont think I have managed to undo the bad crisps/alcohol/cake/peanuts from the weekend so reckon its going to be a 1lb gain tomorrow, if not more. Will wait and see. Am tempted to ignore weigh in this week, but reckon I would slip and slide down the slope into fatness again if I did, so weigh in it is.

bebejones · 27/02/2011 21:33

Quick poll:

Is it ok to wear black to a wedding?

One of my best friends is getting married in June & my nicest dress is a black jersey dress, plunge neckline, knee length, short sleeves, ties at the back. Simple but very flattering, (and practical for toddler chasing)! If I accesorise in lighter/brighter colours it'd be ok wouldn't it? DH says I shouldn't wear black. I have been looking for dresses & just can't find anything I like in the new collections & don't want to leave it to the last minute! Confused

smokinaces · 27/02/2011 22:26

Hi Bebe

I wore black to a friends wedding and it was fine. I wore black trousers (had a 1 year old not walking and a 3 year old) a black/teal top, teal shoes and a green velvet jacket (it was November) with a teal fascinator.

I think with bright accessories black would be fine

RatherBeOnThePiste · 28/02/2011 07:06

It's not really the done thing to wear black to a wedding (wedding etiquette and all that) sorry, that's not possibly what you wanted to hear! And a black dress is a predominantly a black outfit iyswim, not partial or accessories.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/02/2011 07:28

would never wear an all black dress to wedding (funeral wear)

would never also wear a all white dress

RatherBeOnThePiste · 28/02/2011 07:48

And also one shouldn't wear a dress with no sleeves if it's s church do, not even the bride. You should have a wrap to cover your shoulders. I'm not a church goer but I know that one!!

GettinTrimmer · 28/02/2011 09:14

Is it a formal wedding Bebe? I think it'd be alright jazzed up a bit.

I wore a black and white dress to dh's niece's wedding, I seem to remember another lady wearing black and white, I assume that's OK.

anyway, I am just about to do some exercise, 30 day shred, and I start work today, on the school's payroll, ready to go. I will weight in on Friday but over half term I wasn't very dedicated Blush kick my butt someone.

Today:

Boiled egg and toast soldiers (5)
milk (4)
free fruit
ryvitas and prawn salad (8)
Don't know about tea yet, but making pizza for everyone else, I could do with stir-fry and rice.

bebejones · 28/02/2011 11:49

It is reasonably formal (church/big reception) just can't find anything I like that isn't mega money or white! (Thought it was a bigger 'no no' to wear white and I don't want to spend loads on something I will only wear once/once in a blue moon) Hmm Would never expose my arms anyway so would probably have a little jacket or cardigan for the church. I have got DD a pale pink very pretty dress with lots of net skirts/sequins (she picked it) with coral cardigan/hairband. Just can't find anything suitable for me. Wanted a darker colour anyway coz I always look fat/busty & washed out in pale colours!

Trimmer - I too need someone to kick my butt! Was hoping this wedding (& hen do in april) would motivate me...it's not! Blush

GettinTrimmer · 28/02/2011 13:20

Is it worth looking on ebay for a bravissimo dress Bebe?

Right, lunch it is now. Ryvitas and salad.

GettinTrimmer · 28/02/2011 13:21

I suppose also re the black dress depend on the bride, if she would mind at all.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/02/2011 14:47

I often wear black and White dresses to weddings - have tons of them but never one colour of either iyswim

Had a yummy leggy pizza at pizza express for lunch and not sure tonight s tea
