2011 Paul Mckenna

Deafworm · 01/01/2011 11:16

Hi all

I wondered if anyone else was planning to follow Paul mckenna this year and lose their weight?

im currently 16st13 and intend to end the year a fit toned 10st. im a bit hit and miss with following the golden rules but when i do i have seen results so from today i will follow it and get the results i want.

as well as the weight loss with paul mckenna i intend to

Beardo the just dance 2 fitness thing every day till my husband (RAF) flies out to the middle east around april

Bear do the couch to 5k plan and run race for life this year

Bearstart the 30 day shred when dh goes away and repeat it till he comes home (approx 4 months)

I also have one of those magic leg trainers coming on home approval so will have a play with that and see if its worth keping, apart from that i will reassess my fitness in august when he gets home and come to some decisions on how to go forward with that then but for now these seem like reasonable goals, especially when they're on top of really following the golden rules.

so anyone else following 'the rules' this year and going to join me with their aims?

the book for anyone curious about it, though i got mine from my local works type bookshop for less than £5 thats less than one weeks ww/sw/etc subs to try it out and its honestly the most sensible weightloss plan ive ever looked at

Well I'm planning to wear something black probably. Probably long black skirt, long sleeved black t shirt. (Imaginative no? Wink)

I am absolutely knackered, crashed out at silly o clock last night - I swear the kids were barely asleep before me and seem to have some sort of lurgy today. No energy, ache all over. Am sitting looking at some GU puddings and trying to work out what to do with them because my head is too fuzzy to read the labels (they are for the kids obv.

Have made a thai turkey curry for supper and I just don't fancy it. Don't fancy anything bleurrgh.

Mind you did repaint DH's car wing where he bashed it and do all the fillers on it. So that's £500 saved - though it'll be a few more hours work polishing and finishing the lacquer tomorrow. :)

Why are you all nervous about the seminar. If it disturbs you you are allowed to leave - it's not Hitler's rally you know Wink. It'll be great. You will laugh, you might cry but you will be there with people in absolutely the same boat who will not judge you - I can't think of anything nicer than feeling so normal for having an eating problem :)

And I'll be there cheering each of you on too!

solo · 07/02/2011 17:15

I reckon it's mostly nerves at meeting all the PomBears!!! Grin

AlwaysbeOpralFruitstome · 07/02/2011 18:01

Teddy bear shaped potato snacks have never been so intimidating. Grin

"If you go down to the Apollo today..."

I think I'm just nervous about the logistics. Getting there, getting the tickets, meeting up with It'sonly, meeting with DH to give DS3 a feed. I swear if he doesn't get his act together and makes me come out during the seminar he'll have his own unique eating disorder - swallowing his left testicle whilst I throttle him!

nevergoogledragonbutter · 07/02/2011 18:22

So i don't eat unless i'm hungry, but when i'm hungry i want fresh natural food, so the kit kat doesn't seem to fit in anywhere.
For the first time ever i had a kit kat in my bag for over 24 hours and then i gave it to DS for tidying the boys bedroom so well.

And now it's gone and i don't care.

whats the pom bear thing you are talking about?

AmpleBosom · 07/02/2011 18:22

Can i just ask if anyone else is having nightmares about getting to the box office and them saying "Your name ain't down, you ain't coming in". I hope that doesn't happen after a trip to London with hotel booked.

I haven't even listened to this CD yet, i'm so bust with work and the kids i just feel knackered. I need to get my huge fat arse into gear!

You all sound like you're doing so well Envy

solo · 07/02/2011 18:44

Always!

We are all supposed to be making a simple PomBear brooch so that we can all 'know' one another...

solo · 07/02/2011 18:45

No, not worrying about not being on the list ~ our names will be down :)

nevergoogledragonbutter · 07/02/2011 19:05

what? i'm not wearing a pom bear!
we need a style and beauty thread on that one!

nevergoogledragonbutter · 07/02/2011 19:06

what about a badge that says 'AIBU?'

PurpleMiffy · 07/02/2011 19:12

Hello all
Can I join you? Day 3 of ICMYT for me. I've been lurking since the webchat but only now got my head into the right place.

I have at least 4 stone to lose sob Sick to death of doing so many different diets. I've tried everything that I no longer have any idea of what I should/shouldn't eat.

Putting all my faith into Mr McK and so far so good. Looking forward to getting to know you all a bit more x

missmakesstuff · 07/02/2011 19:12

Hi everyone, I haven't been on here in ages! Not long till the seminar now, has kind of crept up on me, have been really busy, and have had lots of things going on recently, been trying to stay off MN a bit so I can get everything done....Sorry for the non appearing Pombear badge tutorial!

But have found a website with some pics, print them off, glue to card, sellotape to safety pin, et voila! Was thinking of fashioning myself a posh felted one, but don't think I have enough time now!

Found a friend to take to the seminar, and since beginning this malarky, a few weeks ago, have lost 3lb or so - not much, but I do feel better, and have signed up for Race for Life 10k, so feeling much more motivated I think.

Just as a few people have mentioned, I fall asleep to the CD most nights I think, wake up just as he is counting at the end, which is annoying, but must mean it is having an effect. Some nights though just can't switch off, I just give up on it then, and go to sleep.

So will see you all at the seminar - what do we do - give knowing winks or something?

Right, off to try and catch up on this thread!

whomovedmychocolate · 07/02/2011 19:33

I strongly suggest the easiest way to meet up will be this: guest and winners tickets will probably be allocated all together so we will end up sitting next to each other Wink.

However I am happy to PM my mobile number to anyone who wants to meet up on the day - perhaps we could meet at the lunchbreak rather than in the morning though - it may be a bit of a bunfight Wink getting in with everyone arriving at once.

missmakesstuff · 07/02/2011 19:36

ooh yes, never thought of that.....dur. I am with a non MN work colleague - so will be a bit odd.

Still want to knowing wink at someone though. My life isn't very exciting.

Off to paint the bathroom. Not hungry for dinner, so I have time!

AlwaysbeOpralFruitstome · 07/02/2011 20:14

Hello PurpleMiffy, I like your name. I have 4 stone + to lose so take heart, we can do it with Pauly's help!

I can't make a brooch! I can barely wash and dress myself. Can't I just cut out a Pombear from a packet, lick it and stick it on my forehead?Wink

Well done on the Race for Life Miss - the thought of lugging my carcass round 10k makes me feel nauseous so kudos to you.

I initially thought that WMMC but then it is 60 guest tickets plus any others he's given out. When I worked in a box office we rarely had 60+ producer seats set aside (mind you I was at a smaller venue than the Apollo) so they might 'fill the gaps' with us.

whomovedmychocolate · 07/02/2011 20:35

Hello Purplemiffy welcome to the party, the food is scant but there may be some alcohol sloshing about in parts Grin

Always - I dunno. The Apollo is mega big and I know usually 10% are comps at arena gigs so it is not implausible - esp given you can fit 50 in some rows at the Apollo IIRC. Well if we are not sat together attention at the back can we all agree to meet at lunchtime, or will you all be chewing your own feet off with hunger and desperate to run to the nearest sandwich bar (I'm calling in at the M&S food thing at the mainline station on the way frankly and bringing salad). We could all do that and call MN picnic in the lobby ? :)

AlwaysbeOpralFruitstome · 07/02/2011 20:55

Yes the Apollo is Mahoosive isn't it? And they are clearly not sold out as PM was on the box touting his wares, so strike that thought, they're going to bung us all together. MN's got a bit of a reputation now, do you think they will cordon us off? Just to be safe.

whomovedmychocolate · 07/02/2011 21:05

Probably put us in a soundproofed box with a locked door to stop you lot goosing him if he's got any sense Grin

whomovedmychocolate · 07/02/2011 21:05

I never did tell you lot what Paul McKenna did for my DH did I? (It might make you cry in a good way).

PurpleMiffy · 07/02/2011 21:06

The seminar sounds fab but can't justify the cash at the minute. Just turned on 'biggest loser' to give me some motivation.

How long has everyone been going and how much has been lost? I'm finding it so hard to not weigh myself. Just had a banana but still feel hungry, not sure if its just boredom though

PurpleMiffy · 07/02/2011 21:08

WMMC Tell! It'll stop me sneaking off to the fridge

whomovedmychocolate · 07/02/2011 21:17

Okay, well DH used to work in a professional role at a very high level and so was person who did thing he did to the famous. Anyway, he worked with PM when he just started to get famous (he was doing his own TV show etc but no-where near as famous as he is now). They got on pretty well, he declared DH 'totally unviable as a hypnosis subject' which DH was chuffed about Hmm but it was a very positive encounter.

Anyway, years later (about ten in fact) DH's wife developed an incurable cancer - she was basically declared terminally ill after five days of illness and given no hope whatsoever. The only treatment was palliative and frankly caused as much pain as the cancer. In hospital with no hope of going home. Really horrible situation.

Through a mutual work acquaintance PM heard about the situation and phoned my DH to say 'if it helps, I will fly in and try and hypnotise her to at least take the pain away so she has some time pain free so you can say goodbye'.

In the end she died too soon and it wasn't possible but DH was really grateful and so was his DW.

NB this was not a simple 'I'll get on a plane' thing, as I understand it, it meant putting everything on hold for about five days, including filming to fly in, to support the wife he'd never met, of a man who'd helped him earlier in his career.

whomovedmychocolate · 07/02/2011 21:17

For the famous, not to the famous (that just sounds rude) Grin

missmakesstuff · 07/02/2011 21:24

Does anyone know what time the thing actually starts? says 8:30am, but assume thats doors open?

whomovedmychocolate · 07/02/2011 21:25

Yep doors open 8:30 - kick off is 10AM but suspect it's better to be there earlier as it will be a bit of a queue by 9am.

missmakesstuff · 07/02/2011 21:27

Sorry, x posts, thats a lovely story Whomoved , not lovely for your DH, but you know what I mean, really touching but so sad he didn't get there in time.
