How do I eat when doing 30 day Shred?

titferbrains · 03/11/2010 22:29

DVD arriving tmw.

What should I be cutting out/modifying?

THose of you doing the Shred, if you could give one tip about eating when doing it, what tip would it be?

I love food so need to know what is really important....helpful if I can find just one or 2 things to be strict about.

I am already attempting to drink more water.

Managed to shred last night. Will be doing it again later. Found it quite hard as have been eating a bit of crap and had not had any water.

Will be downing the water and eating better today.

Anyone else-choc? MC?

titfer-hope your holiday is going well and you are managing to shred??

iluvcake · 24/11/2010 21:24

Everyone has gone very quiet!

Did shred tonight. Found it quite hard going for some reason!

verytellytubby · 25/11/2010 12:52

Hello everyone! I did shred for the first time today. I really liked it and it makes a nice change from Hannah Waterman and her gurning!

I want to lose a stone.

iluvcake · 25/11/2010 20:44

Welcome verytellytubby!

Haven't tried Hannah Waterman. I must admit, I can't face the thought of doing anything over 20 mins now Grin!

Did another session tonight. Getting ready to move onto level two (gulp!).

iluvcake · 27/11/2010 17:26

Didn't shred yesterday as had a bootcamp class. Back was agony last night, think I overdid it so missed out on my shred today.

Will try and do tomorrow but out all day and not sure what time back. Will see how it goes.

Anyone doing it with me??Sad

bandgeek · 28/11/2010 10:09

I have just ordered the DVD from Amazaon - should hopefully arrive on Tuesday. I don't have that much weight to lose but I'm flabby as fuck! It would be nice to be able to wear a pair of trousers without having the dreaded muffin top.

I'm looking forward to starting it.

iluvcake · 29/11/2010 20:46

OK, just started on Level 2. This is day 12 for me. It is harder on the cardio but some of the exercises I find easier, strangely.

bandgeek, am hoping you can join me tomorrow so I won't be alone!

titferbrains · 30/11/2010 20:39

Hi all, am reporting back with an epic shred FAIL during my holiday, but have to tell you all that after 10 days of shredding before I left, focusing on avoiding sugar and eating regularly, I felt much more positive about my body than I have in AGES, and was quite careful not to buy anything too fitted whilst I was abroad because I want to treat myself to a shopping spree WHEN I lose more weight! I ate a fair bit but we tended to have big protein based brekkies and then no lunch or just a snack and then a big dinner. Not ideal but at least I wasn't stuffing myself 3 times a day. Also tried to avoid chips and ate a fair bit of homemade food.

Proof will be in the scales tmw. I will report back to say how much I've gained - we did also do a good bit of walking. Should report that my jeans don't feel tighter, I just feel more unfit.

Hope you are all still shredding like mad! I will be back to it tmw.

Hello titfer-welcome home!!!

Sounds like you had a great time (apart from the non-shredding, tut tutWink). I have to say though, you would have been doing well had you done it on your holiday. There is no way in hell I would have managed it!

Glad you were feeling more positive body-wise while you were away. It's a nice feeling isn't it? I'm feeling more toned and happier with myself but still working on the weight loss. Lost 1.5lb last week but have been a bit of a pig last few days (DS sick and has been at home for last 3 days so I've been grazing a bit).

Bit stop start on the shredding for me. Officially started level 2 on Monday. Had to go out last night for a school thing that I had forgotten about so missed out on shredding. Aiming to do it tonight.

titferbrains · 01/12/2010 23:23

hi cake - did you shred tonight? I didn't, just not in the mood, and too much playing on laptop after my hols. BUT discovered I didn't put on weight over the break, thank goodness.

Had the encouragement I needed this eve tho - my friend saw a pic of me from last year and told me she loved the "pregnant photo" - it was taken 11 months after DD was born, Shock Blush so clearly I need to keep on keeping on!

Don't worry that you are stopping and starting. Just keep doing it when you can, and post on here if yr morale is flagging!

Right bedtime, let me know how you got on with level 2 tmw!

iluvcake · 02/12/2010 22:50

Yes! Managed last night. In a weird way I quite enjoyed it as I was getting a bit bored with Level one and starting to find it a bit easier.

Well done on not putting weight on-that's brilliant. I only have to book a holiday to start putting weight on!

Didn't shred tonight as I ate earlier and then got distracted doing other things as well.

Got my bootcamp class tomorrow and busy at weekend but might try and squeeze it in somewhere. Gotta keep going!

titferbrains · 03/12/2010 13:32

did it yesterday during nap time. Bit stiff today but really not too bad considering how long I've had off!

Am getting a bit freaked out at the thought of level 2 but will try to do it over the weekend.

am focussing on trying to do better with pressups as everyone on the other shred threads seems to be obssessed with them...

good luck and have a lovely weekend!

titferbrains · 04/12/2010 17:16

woohoo, finally did level 2 today! did it straight after level 1 as I didn't want to put it off, and thankfully got thru most of it, tho was very hot and bothered by the end. really am going to have to get to work on press ups now aren't i!

then went out for a nice lunch with DD and DH, 3 courses and bread, but avoided the potatoes and had fish for main... ah well, still pleased to have done 2 shred sessions in a day!

hope you're ok.

iluvcake · 06/12/2010 09:55

Well done on level 2 and your healthy food choices!

I don't think I could manage to do sessions. The fact that it's only 20 mins keeps me going!

Very busy weekend seeing friends and two late nights on fri and sat so no shredding for meSad. Back on it tonight though.

Overindulged a bit over the weekend so having a bit of a detox today.

iluvcake · 06/12/2010 09:56

That should be....manage to do 2 sessions...

iluvcake · 06/12/2010 20:12

Another level 2 session tonight. I find the cardio section REALLY evil on level two. I was moaning and wailing!

That's day 14 for me (after 4 days off). My challenge is to do it on the weekends too. I need to stop all this 4 days of shred/4 days off.

Good day foodwise apart from one chocolate mini roll that was lurking in the cupboard!

For some reason, DS wants me to make pancakes for breakfast tomorrow morning. NOt sure I'm going to be able to resist. Might just make a tiny bit of mixture so there isn't enough for me!

iluvchristmascake · 07/12/2010 20:17

Day 15 done!

Had two pancakes with syrup this morningBlush and a slice of bread with butter and jam.

However, have also done my pilates class today so giving myself a bit of a break.

Hope you are doing ok?

iluvchristmascake · 09/12/2010 13:56

Day 16 done. Might have a go at level 3 as I find level 2 hard-not sure why I think the next level up will be any easierHmm!

Am I all on my ownsome here? Where are those of you who were going to join us??

iluvchristmascake · 09/12/2010 21:05

No shred tonight. Got back from a friends at 7.30 so by the time I got DS into bed was feeling very tired as had three late nights in a row. Disappointed as I could have pushed myself but have bootcamp tomorrow so will make up for it.

Will do tomorrow night.

iluvchristmascake · 10/12/2010 20:30

No shred tonight eitherSad. The bootcamp class always makes me feel really tired and achy on a friday night.

Aiming to do tomorrow morning.

Am getting the feeling I'm talking to myself hereGrin!

Are you out there titfer? Anyone else??

titferbrains · 10/12/2010 23:01

hey sorry have failed miserably this week. lots on and prepping for xmas party on my own so not much time to myself. Maybe better next week. Winter is really kicking in for me, have been eating all kinds of bad sugar. Feeling v guilty but can't stop! weight not moving but wish I was moving more!

well done on keeping up thus far. 3 or 4 times a week is still excellent as it gets yr heart rate up etc which is what we need to do to be healthy.

OP posts:
iluvchristmascake · 11/12/2010 16:45

Hi titfer! Nice to hear from you! Yes, it's a busy time of year and hard to fit the exercise in.

I didn't manage it this morning. Had a really bad night's sleep for some reason so was exhausted when I got up and just couldn't face it. Am out tonight so will probably be the same story tomorrow morningGrin.

Aiming to do during the week though until Christmas. I have really noticed a difference in how toned I am.

If you're struggling with the food side of things, come and join us on the NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS BEING SLIM FEELS thread. It's kept me going!

Hope the party preps don't stress you out too much!Smile

iluvchristmascake · 15/12/2010 21:38

After a five day break, got my butt into gear and had a go at level 3. Not as bad as I was expecting. Some of the exercises I find a bit easier than level 2.

Will try and keep it up until Christmas.

Hope you are ok titfer.

iluvchristmascake · 18/12/2010 13:20

No shred thu or fri (bootcamp instead on fri morning).

Shredded this morning. Level 3 has me groaning!

Menagerie · 20/12/2010 18:42

Please can I join in. DVD arrived today - ordered it ages ago - Amazon slow. Any tips on what to do - wear trainers or bare feet? Do it before eating? I've heard so much about it on MN I'm scared to even open the box in case she makes my muscles seize up so much I can't walk!
