When dod everyone really noticed the food suppression? I know its early days not not sure what or how i shoukd feel.

YourBrickCat · 13/09/2026 19:52

Day 3 here. I would say I’ve been fine - been burping more, reallllly thirsty and wake up thirsty too and just not as interested in snacks ! Which is good as my downfall. Always wanting more sugary snacks after tea which tips over calories deficit to loose weight.

Nevert00late · 13/09/2026 20:03

Today is day 5 for me, weighed this morning and 4lbs down. Realistically i know it's not 4lbs of fat I've lost but still surprised. Having 2 meals a day but yesterday a normal cheese/ham sandwich was too much for lunch. Need to keep an eye on nutrition - it's not straight forward! Great to hear how everyone is doing

Well done! The nutrition thing is interesting and I’m just realising how careful you need to be. I’ve been batch cooking casseroles with loads of veg so that I ensure I’m eating enough veg. It’s so easy to get full and then not be hungry enough to eat anything else that nutrition could easily slip if you’re not careful. I’ve eaten a roast beef dinner today and nothing else! Lots of veg on the Sunday lunch but I can see how it would be easy to have a non-nutritious day!

Ugh I'm struggling today. It's day 9 on 1.5 and I'm having a lot of side effects...waves of nausea and headache.
What can I take to help the nausea, any ideas please??? It's coming in waves and is grim

REDB99 · 13/09/2026 09:29

I’m on day 3 and the nausea is bad this morning. I did eat out yesterday and wonder if it’s linked to eating a larger meal rather than little and often. My cravings for sweet things have completely disappeared which is a good sign as this is what I struggle with. I’ve always eaten healthy meals but the snacking on sweet treats has been out of control for a long time now. I’m going to take one of the anti-nausea pills I was sent with my weight loss tablets and hope it helps.

Which anti nausea tablets were you given?

I was sent 10 tablets of Cyclizine with my order, I took one this morning and it definitely helped. I’ve used Voy for my order.

Thanks, helpful to know. I'm with med express, I'll give them a call tomorrow see what they say

Zero negative side effects here! Day 27 of 1.5mg. Moving up to 4mg soon.
Good luck!

SweetLathyrus · Yesterday 08:16

@SoozieT69 , I had two incidences of being sick, but both were avoidable - drinking black coffee on an empty stomach! Planning for small, high protein snacks/meals helps enormously for me. If I know I can't manage a meal, I have a few raw (unsalted) almonds, hazelnuts, cashews, or small cubes of Emmental (more palatable than cheddar for this purpose for me).

UncleColm · Yesterday 09:19

I've been on it for 2 weeks now with no issues at all. Except last night I ate some jellies while watching Traitors (in Ireland)....I definitely ate more than I should have - I woke during the night with stomach cramps. No more jellies for me.

I suspect if I'd had just a few I would have been fine.

Sesame2011 · Yesterday 12:08

Struggling a bit. After week 1 on 1.5mg I was 3lbs down, great. After week 2 I gained 2lbs? I have had zero side effects and definitely been feeling hungry. We have just been away for a week which obviously didnt help but I was conscious about how much I was eating. I only had 2 meals a day as didn't feel the need for a 3rd meal and evening snacking has definitely been cut down but the desire is still there.
Do I just need to tough it out for the next 2 weeks until I can start 4mg?

Yup! Been there, suffered that😄

Your sins will find you out with Wegovy!
I’m finding that even slightly over-doing foods will either sit like concrete in your belly for ages, or, in my case, make me feel very sick ( not actually sick)
I enjoyed “too many” grapes last week and was very nauseous for about 40 minutes. Fresh air and distraction works well.
Who’d have thought grapes would do that? It’s very much a case of stop, before you need to!

SweetLathyrus · Yesterday 13:48

My provider emailed me with the link to choose the dose for next month this morning. They were really clear that if you are having adequate suppression - or if you are still having general side effects (as opposed to "Doh! I knew I shouldn't have done that" ones) - stick to the low dose.

So that's almost certainly what I will be doing. I will wait a couple of days, because it's only been 12 so far, but if anything, I'd like the suppression to be a little less, so that I am more inclined to eat properly.

@FamousInTheLastCentury I really hope I don't find grapes (or any other fruit) a trigger!

I don’t think it was the grapes as such - more like the amount I scoffed!
Moderation should be my mantra! 😄

SweetLathyrus · Yesterday 14:25

@FamousInTheLastCentury the only logical response to eating a really good grape, is to repeat 😁

Could you try eating more often but much smaller meals? Perhaps aim for 4 very well balanced smaller snacks/meals? If you are using the Voy app you could ask it for meal suggestions.

amusedpyjamas · Yesterday 22:33

I’ve had an email from MedExpress asking me to sort next order. I don’t know whether to switch up to 4mg, I’m about 16 days in and still getting nausea in the mornings. Have a holiday planned in about 3 weeks too so thinking maybe stick to 1.5 for another month. I’ve lost 6lb so far and suppression is still pretty strong. Did anyone notice a huge difference in nausea when switching to 4mg?

When it comes to switching suppliers, taking advantage of introductory offers etc, does it matter when you get closer to your goal weight that you might no longer be classed as overweight or obese according to BMI, and you’re technically a new customer to them? I’m certainly not there yet but don’t want to be turned down for a prescription as I get closer. Hope that makes sense?
