Shorter ladies - wegovy/mounjaro

Lineem · 02/11/2025 15:37

Hi
is anyone else struggling to stay in a deficit? My maintenance calories are 1800 because I’m not very tall. I’m on max dose of wegovy and still have 1stone to lose and it’s no longer silencing the food noise .

already today I’ve eaten crumpet thins with biscoff spread (measured) for breakfast

some melon , a yogurt , teas and coffee as snacks .

cod bites and baked beans , ketchup for lunch

a mini twix and a mini kitkat.

not even 4pm and I am on 1000kcal .

any tips and low calorie meal ideas are appreciated.

is it me or is it much harder to lose weight as a shorter lady ?

I’ve just had a taste of the fage 5%. Remembering that some of you guys said to avoid 0% fat . It’s so yummy . I bought honey and berries to sweeten it , thinking my crazy sweet tooth wouldn’t like it but it’s even tasty on its own.

I am going to start again tomorrow now that I’ve got food in and whilst I wait for nounjaro. I really do think it’s the sugar that was ruining the suppression too because a couple of spoonfuls of farge was filling whereas lately , I could eat two toastie for lunch and still want chocolate (I haven’t eaten all that for lunch but just an example).

I hope the final stone isn’t too slow and hopefully I’ll be able to maintain if I’m changing my diet again and I actually stick to this way of eating . Before , I wasn’t mindful about what I was eating , just fussed on being in a deficit.

No need to avoid Fage 0% - issue with low fat yoghurt is when there is other processed stuff added - but the 5% will probably keep you felling fuller. I sweeten with frozen raspberries, don’t need honey.

Foryourpiesonly · 03/11/2025 21:16

@Lineem brilliant! Sounds like you're getting back on track, I think a small teaspoon of honey would be ok, I have the sweet freedom one,it's vegan I think it's made from fruit sugar it's nice, and a bit lower calorie, and maybe not as high on the glycaemic index as honey, along with the berries and chia.

You need to eat more nutritious food. Most of what you have eaten is either high in sugar (melon, baked beans ketchup ) or low in nutrition crumpet. Or both kitkat twox biscoff . And all low in protein.

It’s nothing to with size.

Here is my standard day 1,200 cals

Breakfast - 250g fage0% 5g chia seeds and 75g berries (fresh or frozen)

Mid morning - apple and 10g Lindt 85%

lunch - salad with tin tuna, lettuce tomato cucumber pepper celery and olive oil dressing (max 5g olive oil)

Mid afternoon protein shake

dinner - 120g chicken breast brocolli cauliflower etc

If I have calories left and I hit protein goal, I’ll have a mini twister

@MeridaBrave your daily food choices are exemplary. Please share more it’s quite helpful

So the goal is whole foods / high protein / high fibre.
minimum grains, no sugar. Just think - lean protein and veg as far as possible.

Breakfast options

  1. Fage 0% / skyr / high protein kefir with chia seeds and berries or
  2. Omelette made with 2 chicks egg white 100g 2 whole eggs, on a thin slice of toasted sourdough or
  3. 30g unflavoured whey protein isolate blended with half a banana and berries

Lunch options
Either omelette above! Or a big salad witn a low fat protein source eg tin tuna, pan fried white fish, pan fried (use a spray) chicken breast (or left over chicken / turkey) salad dressing is 5g olive oil: balsamic and grainy mustard.

Dinner options
stir fry - either with chicken / tofu and Thai curry paste
bolognaise but skip the pasta!! Add some beans if yon want carbs eg low fat mince half tin chopped tomatoes, veg. Chop up cauliflower or broccoli and use that as the “pasta”.
or salmon with steamed veg

Thank you, I’ve screenshot that for some daily inspo ❤️

FoxRedPuppy · 04/11/2025 06:52

Those options are great, but I struggle with salad for lunch in the winter. My body wants something warm!

This inspo is exactly what I needed!

Also to the poster above - I didn’t think of sweet freedom. I used to love the choc shot , I didn’t know they did other syrups.

Ive been told I won’t like 0% farge now that I’ve tried 5% . Wishing I went for the lower option now .

anyways - breakfast today, I won’t be getting a lunch break at work today so I’m hoping this fills me up.

200g of 5% Farge ,
35g raspberries,
35g blueberries,
80g strawberries and some passion fruit drizzled on top.

strawberry and hibiscus tea .

can’t decide if I want to calorie count or just try and eat better first and see if it makes a difference as in the past I got really fixed on numbers.

Maybe soup might work.
I picked up some from M&S and plan on making my own as I’m not a huge store bought soup fan.
Shocked when I read that the honey roast parsnip soup I got was only 147kcal for half the tub as it’s got honey , butter and double cream in the ingredients.

I eat full fat (10%) Greek yoghurt. But I only have 100-120g for breakfast. And I have real honey! Just a drizzle. I’m on 1200 calories a day.

I’ve tried 5% and it’s passable 😁. This morning I had protein porridge as I’m going for a run mid morning, so a bit of carbs helps.

So I have double that 250g of 0% Fage because I want the protein without the extra calories. I aim for 30g of protein at each meal.

FoxRedPuppy · 04/11/2025 09:30

I just struggle with the quantity of food for 250g, plus the extra fruit (and honey!) ff

I only add 75g of frozen raspberries, so it’s just flavouring really, add 5g chia for fibre no honey.

Foryourpiesonly · 04/11/2025 16:06

Think I might try some 0%, does it keep you satisfied? Is it tangier? That's what I can't stand about yogurt normally, the 5% tastes like thick cream to me, I still can't believe I can have 3 dessert spoons for about 80 cals, plus I don't really have fat otherwise and It helps with absorption of a d e k, could alternate I suppose, 0% one day, 5% next,

Yes. I add 5g chia (soaked in a little boiling water) and 75g frozen rasps (also soaked and drained) which neutralise the slight tanginess.

Foryourpiesonly · 04/11/2025 18:32

@MeridaBrave right i'll try a small pot, see how I get on, in maintenence, and if it means I can eat more and get more protein all good, thanks

I’d love to know how you get on with 0%. I’ve never liked Greek yogurt because of the tanginess so I’m really surprised I like Farge 5%.

I use fresh raspberries and don’t think they are very sweet at all. Do you defrost the raspberries?

I think I’ve only got mixed frozen berries that also have blueberries in and they are the devil’s fruit!

youdoyoudear · 04/11/2025 20:13

I’m 5:1 and haven’t had any issues losing on MJ. Once you start eating great protein and up your water to minimum 2lt a day, you’ll see a decrease in needing to snack.

Today I’ve had about 1000 calories in total but I’ve mostly eaten good stuff - porridge for breakfast, a protein shake for lunch and tonight I had a breakfast (it was what I fancied) - scrambled eggs, beans, mushrooms and some Heck chicken sausages. My day’s intake had more processed stuff in it than I would like but it’s kept me full all day. Around 87g of protein in total (my daily goal is 90g).

youdoyoudear · 04/11/2025 20:14

Also if you have a bad sweet tooth, Lidl do a great range of high protein snacks - chocolate puddings, energy bars, all sorts.

Pour boiling water over them and drain so they basically fall apart which is the point to flavour the yoghurt.

20bloodypounds · 05/11/2025 23:22

I understand what people are trying to do, but I like to eat 'real' food, and minimise food waste. 0% fat yogurt has been messed around with to take out the fat that naturally occurs when you make yogurt from milk.

Same with whey powder (assuming you're not making your own cheese at home and have whey left over).

If you have egg white omelette what do you do with the left over yolks?

I like to buy real ingredients, simple as possible, combine them and and eat them. I'll use butter not margerine/spread. Loads of veg, pulses etc. Mostly things that are seasonal and local (although I will add in the odd avocado / lemon which would never grow here!). If I cook duck legs I'll use the excess fat for cooking something later.

I'm a prolific soup maker. Every left over bone goes in the slow cooker with dodgy veg - fantastic stock overnight. A great base for tomato and lentil, or broccoli and blue cheese, or pumpkin and walnut.

At the end of the day, it's individual choice - what interests us, what our priorities are, how much time/money/energy we have.

Lineem · 08/11/2025 15:48

Thank you all for the advice and support.

I started MJ on Wednesday.

My scales showed a loss for the first time in forever this morning and quite significant. I won’t celebrate it too much as it’s probably water weight but I’m so happy.

I haven’t eaten anything ultra processed, I’ve swapped my melon for berries and Greek yogurt and fruit is keeping my sweet cravings at bay - when I’ve had a really sweet tooth , a square of dark chocolate has done the trick.

I don’t really have much of an appetite for sweet stuff anymore and black coffee has been a saviour!

@Lineem brilliant, that's great, so pleased for you.
I tried the 0 % yogurt, btw, not for me, I'll stick with my 5%,and have a bit less.
Mounjaro does help with inflammation, so it's probably a bit of water weight, I lost half a stone in the first week 😂, but hey a loss is a loss and it won't all be water.

wahwahwahwoah · 08/11/2025 16:11

I am only 4ft 10 and have lost nearly 5 stone on Mounjaro but I think I eat around 1.000 calories most days. That said my TDEE is only 1250 calories now so I need to be around 1000 to lose half a pound a week.

Lineem · 08/11/2025 16:11

Half a stone ! That’s a lot .

Well I’ve switched straight over from Wegovy and I e gained every week for the last 6 weeks so I’ll take this loss but won’t feel too disheartened if next week isn’t as great.

I wont be trying the 0% then , hesitated between them both day as the big tubs are on offer . So glad I stuck to 5%.

I have gone from hating Greek yogurt and not liking fruit to becoming obsessed with them . I have two bowls a day 🙈
