I have had great success with mounjaro and I'm now a size 10 to 12 (previously a 16 to 18).
Before losing the weight I used to look at certain styles and wish I was slim enough to carry them off......well now I am but suddenly seem to have a complete mental block around what to treat myself to 😆.
I'm living in jeans and t-shirts - I'd love to hear some suggestions of things you are looking forward to wearing, or are now wearing that you didn't feel comfortable in before.

For me the freedom has been in still wearing jeans, but tucking my tops in rather than having them float over my belly!

lissie123 · 23/05/2025 13:20

I would love to wear shorts. Now that would be freedom.

Crunchymum · 23/05/2025 13:21

Congratulations on your loss 🎊

Get yourself a Pinterest inspiration board.

I've had a "weightloss goal outfit" board for about 7 years. Still not there but maybe one day!!

In reality I'll be glad to wear anything other than my "fat uniform" which consists of leggings, long vest to cover fat arse and baggy tops over the vest.

tryingtobesogood · 23/05/2025 13:22

I am looking forward to being able to wear simple clothes, not layers to cover different lumps and bumps. I love cropped trousers, jeans, more fitted dresses and like the PP above, to tuck my tops in and not having to buy tunics.

Doggymummar · 23/05/2025 13:22

I'm dressing like Fliella Benjamin. Or Timmy Mallet, Google it if you are under 50. Bright colours and patterns after years of black sacks is heaven.

tryingtobesogood · 23/05/2025 13:23

Oh yes, colour. Lots and lots of colour.

Happytoneverseeyouagain · 23/05/2025 13:25

I've lost 5.5 stone gone from a 14/16 to a 6 (but not through injections). I don't think I ever believed I would loose the wait so didn't really think about what I'd wear (but definitely there were things I'd never have thought about wearing). Since loosing the weight I bought two jumpsuits which are so comfortable and skinny jeans. Both would have been a no before. I think I feel more willing to try things to like a brighter colour or a bolder pattern, so it's not just the type of clothing. I've been buying a few pieces from next clearance to restock my wardrobe because it's cheap I'm more likely to try something different I find.

I love this look

Do you struggle doing the jumpsuits up? I have one that does up the back and I can't get into it without help.

Shudacudawuda · 23/05/2025 13:28

Oh yes to tucking tops in, I have been doing that too.
One thing I've just remembered, I wore a summery skirt the other day with NO CHUB RUB! Amazing.
Thank you @Crunchymum I hope you can wear a goal outfit sometime soon, a mood board is a great idea.

No but I only have front fastening ones. The only issue is the toilet especially if I've popped a cardigan on as well!

Shudacudawuda · 23/05/2025 14:00

Off to Google jumpsuits.......

I have lost 4 stone over the past 3 years and I'm loving being able to tuck tops into jeans without the need to hide my big fat tummy..I've also worn shorts on holiday that didn't have an elasticated waist and no chub rub which I remember could be excruciating in the heat with me walking like I'd wet myself just to get some relief, not forgetting the vaseline or talc in between my legs I've tried them all! I am a convert to Vinted where I have sold all my (fat) clothes and replaced them with newer smaller sized clothes. I've gone from a 16-18 (that 16 must have been a tight fit) down to a 12-14 but I'm still nervous to buy a size 12 because it's been over 40 years since I was that size.Using Vinted is so much cheaper than buying from shops and if I don't like it then it goes back on Vinted. My goal is to get back into my wedding dress from 1990 I don't know why I've got this goal as it's dusty & ripped at the bottom and an extremely slimline dress but a couple of years ago I couldn't get it past my knees at least now I can get it on and zip it up to my boobs😁

Doggymummar · 23/05/2025 15:28

Yes mine are all jump suits, just pull on ones though, no fastenings. Fat face, trespass and accidentally Shein (sold as unbranded on VINTED)

HeavyHeidi · 24/05/2025 06:16

anything tight and clingy. Just a simple t-shirt and top, they don't need to be roomy any more to hide my girth. I can show off my waistline instead of hiding my fat rolls.
Cropped tops - I don't mean the barely there ones people wore in the 90s, but just short ones that end around the waistline. Very flattering actually.
Built in bra tops - they of course did nothing for support when I had massive heavy boobs, they're so comfortable now.
Skirts and dresses, you can just pull one on withouth thinking about adding chub rub shorts underneath.
Anything really. Even a potato sack looks good when slim. It's fabulous.

I actually went shopping for the first time in years yesterday (normally buy everything online) with the sole purpose of trying on loads of different styles that I wouldn’t normally look at.

I’ve found styles I stuck to as a size 18 just don’t suit me anymore (puff sleeves/milkmaid style dresses in particular).

I’m now a 14 and it was so nice to go into shops I’d never normally look at like river island and mango and the clothes actually fit! I loved cropped wide leg and barrel fit jeans with tighter tops. I tried a jumpsuit on in mango that looked great and more slim fitting dropped waist dresses rather than feeling I should stick with skimming a-line styles. Highly recommend a morning at the shops to do the same and get new ideas!

My old clothes.

ttcat37 · 20/07/2025 22:25

I wear whatever I like, and feel good because I like the clothes.
I don’t feel ‘slim’ in anything, because I’m not. But I do feel nice. The two don’t have to go hand in hand

Snapespeare · 20/07/2025 22:38

I have a waist now (size 22 to almost a 14, Mounjaro, 6 and a bit stone lost from my heaviest, a stone to go to a healthy BMI) but no arse, still have a lot going on in the boob area. I'm 57 and have loose skin on my stomach and thighs and bingo wings from weight loss... I love my body. It's strong and I've done the best possible thing for my blood pressure, heart health and mental health. My vibe is love child of Jarvis Cocker and Claudia Winkelman. Natural fibres, textures - velvet jackets, satin blouses, a good brooch, blocked colours, stompy boots, minimal jewellery. Being aware of my new body type, so slim not skinny trousers, tapered. Midi drrsses. belts, v necks.
The main difference for me is colour and not hiding in grey tents.

Oceangrey · 20/07/2025 22:45

I'm suddenly wearing trouser suits (corporate job). I've never suited them before being short and wide. And non elastic trousers were always uncomfortable. Now they feel good and look good!

tostaky · 21/07/2025 07:18

I just want to have freedom when i pick my clothes and have some fun! It is so very boring to hide obesity…

TheChosenTwo · 21/07/2025 07:24

Op we started at and are currently now the same size!
It’s been wonderful to put shorts on and not be second guessing what someone behind me can see. I just don’t care now.
Also no chub rub when I wear dresses, incredible - I’ve suffered painfully for years and have been a slave to roll on deodorant on my thighs until this year.
I’ve been enjoying the simplicity of shorts and T-shirts - nothing special but didn’t realise how much I’d appreciate the freedom.

Fatmumslim01 · 21/07/2025 07:55

For chub rub I swear by snag chub rub shorts, absolute game changer! Although I also had chub rub when I was a size 10 many years ago so Im expecting to still have it when I've lost weight, currently 26 pound down on MJ, 48 to go.

Mumof1andacat · 21/07/2025 08:03

I just think it's confidence. I have been a size 10 (8st 7lbs). I still wouldn't wear certain clothes then. I wouldn't wear shorts, bikinis, skinny jeans, leggings and only wore dresses for weddings. No skirts higher than my knee either. I'm much bigger now and still have 'rules' about what I wear and won't wear. It's just an ingrained thing.

castleclass · 21/07/2025 09:31

I thought I would want to wear dresses and shorter tops becsue in my mind being a 16 after a 24 would make me feel ‘free’ - truth is I’m really struggling with clothes and have barely any outfits at all. I have bought and returned more clothes this year than I think I have ever bought in my life!!
