I just felt so full after lunch I didn’t want tea! This was yesterday

b- melon blueberries and yoghurt
l- 1 egg, feta, half avocado, 1 bloomer sized toast, apple
four jelly sweets
d- tiny tiny quiche portion, chips salad

Probably still hungry, but I’m not on weight loss injections.

guineapigsears · 18/05/2025 17:10

100% fine. I only eat one meal a day anyway and atm due to the lovely weather, that’s soup and one slice of bread/mini baguette.

MrsPlantagenet · 18/05/2025 17:13

I’d feel fine. Quiche and chips would be a filling dinner, even if small.

The guidance when on MJ is quite clear. It is important to consume enough calories (TDEE - 500 per day) and enough protein to stay healthy.
I don't think you had nearly enough calories or protein and, personally, I'd feel starving!

What dose are you on? If you are just starting you need to get into a routine of healthy eating (and protein shake/bar if needed) until things settle, if you are further along you may need to reduce dose.
Appetite suppression is a side effect and not something we should aim for in the longer term

FoxChops · 18/05/2025 17:14

I’d feel that I needed to adjust my dosage.

ive been taking MJ for a year now and have reduced my weight from 15 stone to 9 stone 7 and have been maintaining for about 5 months now with the help of a maintenance dose

ive always eaten around 1400-1500 calories a day because undereating will achieve short term weight loss but it won’t set you up to succeed once you hit your goal weight

so I’d come down a little bit in dosage or I’d add in some calorie dense food such as nuts / cheese

magicstar1 · 18/05/2025 17:15

I'd feel sick, but wouldn't have eaten enough either. The problem I can see is the bread and chips. I'm on Mounjaro and just can't eat either of those. I saw bread referred to as "stomach cement" on TikTok, and I have to agree. It fills me up and gives me sulphur burps....chips too.

mynameiscalypso · 18/05/2025 17:16

It’s difficult to tell without portion sizes for breakfast and dinner. When you say chips, do you mean 5 or 6 chips or 20 chips? When you say salad, is it just lettuce? Does it have a dressing? How much yoghurt do you have for breakfast?

Are you on Mounjaro or are you 4 foot nothing and weigh 7 stone? Because if it's the former this is ridiculous and you need to drop your dosage asap!

FortyElephants · 18/05/2025 17:20

Agree with others regarding bread and chips. If I eat too many carbs I get full and can't eat enough protein. I do eat toast for breakfast every day because I love it but it's 1 slice homemade sourdough and it keeps me full all morning. I try to have fewer carbs at lunch and dinner so I can eat enough fibre and protein.

I wouldn't be able to eat that much for each meal. I'd have to graze on it slowly.

fatgirlswims · 18/05/2025 17:24

I didn’t expect a lecture! I do watch my protein and calories.

I just plugged it all into nutracheck and there isn’t anything wrong with how much I ate - calories was 1442 and protein was 47.2

I just wondered how you would feel.

OP posts:
MrsPlantagenet · 18/05/2025 17:26

I don’t eat anywhere near 1422 calories, so I’d actually feel very stuffed indeed.

How do you feel, OP?

fatgirlswims · 18/05/2025 17:26

There was tonnes of protein- yoghurt, egg, cheese, milk and quiche!

ah That’s interesting I didn’t feel sick just full!

I’m on 1450 - 1500 calories a day so I’d work out the calories in the above and see what they amount to. It could be quite a bit, more than you think when listing it, as there’s quite a lot of fat in the above.

sorry - just saw that you’d already done that. So how would I feel on 1422 calories in a day - fine and I would have had a few periods leading up to meal times where I was genuinely hungry.

Your breakfast is have as a snack using full fat Greek yoghurt and honey.

Your feta etc meal - I’d only have one fatty food and I’d swap some of the other stuff for a good helping of protein with salad.

Thd sweets I wouldn’t have but I may have a couple of boiled sweets if I felt my blood sugar was low.

the quiche and chips - I’d spend my calories on something else that was better for me i stead.

fatgirlswims · 18/05/2025 17:30

wildly varing responses! -interesting

I mean it's breakfast, lunch and dinner and pretty standard fare for each. So totally fine? Aren't the injections meant to teach you how to eat normally? Well this is it!

I'm very tall and slim and would probably need a pre-bed snack but would be fine.

Yes that’s the point! I felt pretty normal.

If you're not on weightloss drugs this is disordered eating.

This is the WLI board so I would expect most people to be on WLI

I didn't explain properly. I get full super easily because I'm on WLI! I'm a fat girl. BUT I get ridiculously full very easily because of the Mounjaro. 3 or 4 mouthfuls and I have to stop for a bit or I start to feel sick.

Incognitoburrito88 · 18/05/2025 18:13

I think I might have felt a bit full after the lunch - bread really fills me up. I’d have had the sweets later while watching tv but I don’t see why people are being so critical. This seems like an ok day of food to me and 1400 calories is not starvation unless you’re a 6ft body builder 🤷‍♀️

why are you asking op?

OneOfMeIs · 18/05/2025 18:14

thestudio · 18/05/2025 18:07

It wouldn't be good on weight loss drugs either - the idea isn't to enable a starvation diet, but a healthy one including plenty of protein.

OP, your calorie count and protein intake for the day sound fine. I find my appetite varies anyway - on or off MJ! - and is affected by hormones, activity levels etc so how I would feel would depend on all of that. I don't eat the same amount every day, or over the course of the month.
