How long does Mounjaro take to be delivered after ordering for three first time?

First time ordering 2.5 of Mounjaro through Med Express.

I ordered it last Wednesday evening.

Do you automatically get sent it and a notification goes to the doctor as standard, or does the doctor need to give a decision on whether you can have it based on your medical history?

What happens if it's delivered and you're not in? Does a couple of hours out of the fridge matter? Partner has appointment at doctors later and physio tomorrow. I'm at work all day. I really want to star this ASAP.

Also if you're a member of Slimming World will they still allow you to come to sessions whilst on it?

Thank you.

Mine arrives within 24 hours of despatch. Have you had the despatch notice yet. Or are you still waiting on approval

IsItSnowing · 03/03/2025 08:50

I used to be with med express. They only notified my GP when I bought the second pen.
They always despatched quickly. If you've been waiting a while then check that they haven't asked for any further information.

HangryBrickShark · 03/03/2025 09:05

It says awaiting prescription.

Is that from one of their clinicians or my GP?

It's awaiting approval by their clinicians, it's nothing to do with your GP.

HangryBrickShark · 05/03/2025 13:31

Still waiting

Still waiting

Why would you hide the order number but leave your full address on there?

SilenceInside · 05/03/2025 13:50

By mistake I suppose!

SilenceInside · 05/03/2025 14:18

@HangryBrickShark is there something slightly unusual about your circumstances - close to the BMI prescribing guideline boundary, or medical condition or medication that you take? Have you uploaded any photos/id that they've asked for, or any other further information?

GameOfJones · 05/03/2025 14:34

I ordered through Phlo. I first applied and uploaded photos on a Friday. I was approved on Monday and it was delivered on Tuesday.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 05/03/2025 15:01

There have loads of posts in the last week about medexpress emailing people regarding delays. New prescriptions will take slightly longer to process too. Have you checked your junk folder for any requests for more info? Can you cancel and go somewhere else?

Just one of the many reasons I would not touch medexpress with a bargepole!

Of course you can't go to slimming world ffs.

Of course you can't go to slimming world ffs.

Of course she can if she wants to. The chief nutritionist at slimming world wants to welcome and support people taking WLI, unsurprisingly given they want people to keep attending. She says "We encourage members who are taking weight loss medications to share that information with their fellow members and the Consultant who runs their group" in this article www.slimmingworld.co.uk/press/weight-loss-injections-are-not-a-magic-bullet

LastNightMyPJsSavedMyLife · 05/03/2025 20:01

Pretty unfair to those attending groups trying to lose weight by controlling what they eat.

You'd need to tell that to the people at Slimming World then. And people taking WLI are also trying to control their eating, it's one of many different approaches.

I didn't realise but thanks for pointing it out for everyone to see. Most appreciated NOT.

I already messaged the lady running the group last week. I went last night to group and she said it was fine to continue whilst taking WLI, not that I have yet! I've lost another 2lbs last night at weigh in. That's 3.5lbs in 3 weeks. And now 1 stone 9lbs since June 2024. So it's not as if I'm not trying but I need to shift it quicker for personal reasons.

I am also doing the same. Started SW last June, so far lost 1st 9lbs. Completely overhauled my diet and going the gym most days.

It's not unfair at all. I'm quite transparent and honest, or at least will be once I get it, if I get it! I am not ashamed. I'm doing it for the benefit of my health.

No but I contacted them this morning saying that it hadn't been delivered and they've responded to say my full length photo wasn't sufficient so I've sent another one. Fingers used this time!

Honestly, MedExpress seem to be really crap sometimes, very patchy service. There are lots of other providers who are similar priced or cheaper. With this length of delay and not even bothering to tell you they had an issue with your photo I would ask for a refund and order elsewhere.

I have seen discussions about photos being rejected if you are wearing black, as it's hard to tell your shape, if you are wearing anything loose rather than tight fitting. They should have told you what sort of things they expect in the full length picture.

HangryBrickShark · 08/03/2025 12:21

I'm still waiting, I've emailed them again. If I don't receive it by the end of next week I will ask for a refund. So disappointing. 😐I've weighed today and I've maintained so far but I have SW Weds, so hopefully lost a bit more.

Honestly, I'm not sure about that photo. You need to be wearing things that are tight that show all the lumps and bumps. So I wore leggings and a t shirt that was too small and so basically skin tight. You're aiming for the least flattering picture ever.

You don't look particularly overweight or obese in that image.

MJalltheway · 08/03/2025 12:47

They usually ask for photos in tight fitting clothes so they can properly see your shape, I wouldn't be surprised if they reject that one as well. I took mine in leggings and a crop top.
you will need to provide this to any prescriber.

yomellamoHelly · 08/03/2025 13:18

My first photo was just an off the cuff photo taken they and then of me in jeans and a looser fitting shirt. (Size 18 - which makes me look passable). So not massively dis similar to yours. Also rejected .

Second one was a pair of shorts and a vest top that I wear to the gym. Definitely not flattering, but it was approved straight away

I'm five foot 9 and 17.9stone and BMI of 36.5 classed as obese.

Thanks though 😃

Perhaps I need a better photo.
My first was in my gym top and leggings and that was refused.
